An exploration of teaching reform of management course based on rain class and participatory teaching under OBE concept

Management is the core course of business administration majors. In order to drive educational modernization through educational informatization, this article explores the teaching reform of management based on the concept of learning output education (OBE). It is guided by student output and follows the principle of "reverse design and positive implementation". In terms of implementation, it is specifically divided into learning goal reconstruction, course content integration The teaching process and the construction of an evaluation system are four steps. During the teaching process, the implementation of rain classroom and participatory teaching mode has broken through traditional time and space limitations, extending the interaction and communication between teachers and students from the classroom to pre class and post class, achieving a good loop of "pre class in class after class". This teaching reform practice can promote the improvement of the quality of management teaching and is conducive to cultivating high-quality management talents.

Analysis of Skills Needed by Unemployed Fresh Graduates in Business Administration: Evidence from Oman

The authors consider the increasing unemployment rate for fresh graduates from business administration majors in developing countries, such as Oman. The abilities and skills students need to obtain employment after graduating from postsecondary education institutions are the subject of this study. The aim of this study was to identify the skills required by the Omani labor market as well as the employability skills gap among recent business administration graduates. The relevance of this study relies on proposing an evaluation model to assess the skills required by employers, specifically in the private sector, from fresh graduates of business schools. The authors adopted a quantitative research method to achieve the study’s objectives. The data were collected through a survey which was distributed to 101 fresh graduates from two higher education institutions. The findings reveal that soft skills, such as problem-solving, teamwork, dedication to work, a positive attitude, leadership, communication, critical thinking, negotiation, and pursuit of learning, are the most needed by graduates in all aspects. The study concluded that there is a demand for different types of soft and technical skills that are important for future jobs in the private sector. The study recommends more collaboration between universities and various stakeholders to review current academic programs and design more professional and vocational training programs. Furthermore, the study emphasizes the promotion of an entrepreneurial mindset to prepare graduates to develop creative business ideas and innovation to create their jobs.

Exploring the Path of Cultivating Innovative and Entrepreneurial Talents for Business Administration Majors in Universities

With the development of globalisation and knowledge economy, the cultivation of innovative and entrepreneurial talents in business administration majors in colleges and universities has received unprecedented attention. This paper discusses the path of cultivating innovative and entrepreneurial talents in business administration majors in colleges and universities in China based on the cross perspective of education, business administration and entrepreneurship. The purpose of this paper is to provide theoretical guidance and practical reference for the educational reform of business administration majors in colleges and universities, in order to adapt to the current and future economic and social development of innovative and entrepreneurial talents of the complex requirements.

Innovative Models of Cooperation between Business Administration Majors in Universities and Enterprises


 
 
 
 University business administration programs strive to provide students with the skills and knowledge needed to succeed in industry. However, traditional cooperation models between universities and enterprises often fail to offer cutting-edge practical engagement. Through semi-structured interviews with Shandong Province 32 university department heads and business managers along with surveys from 217 students and employees, this mixed methods study aimed to uncover potentially innovative models of collaboration that effectively equip graduates for the modern workplace.
 The key findings reveal 4 collaborative archetypes deemed innovative by over three-fourths of experts, including intensive capstones with partner companies, corporate co-creation of competency frameworks integrated into curricula, rotational cross-appointments of university and company talent, and consortium advisory boards that reciprocally inform program development. Enabling success factors include aligned values, communication structures that mitigate bureaucracy, networks for talent pipeline development, and flexibility in partnership formalization. Challenges center on initial partnership development, ensuring continuity, and measuring outcomes over time horizons longer than typical academic or business quarters. By identifying best practices within these innovative collaboration models, the study provides insight into improving partnerships’ equipping of next generation corporate and entrepreneurial business leaders.
 
 
 

Distance education during the COVID-19 pandemic: experience at a public university

Objective: Evaluate the performance of distance education in the Accounting and Business Administration programs at a public university during the Covid-19 pandemic.Methods: A quantitative, field, observational, descriptive, and cross-sectional research was conducted based on the positivism paradigm. The sample consisted of 23 professors, and was obtained through a non-probabilistic, intentional sampling. All participants met the inclusion criteria. Results: The study results indicate that the contents achieved the intended objectives, adhered to the set timeline, and remained current. Nonetheless, 57% of the professors reported poor attendance in virtual sessions, leading to incomplete coverage of subject´s content. 100% of participants had access to a computer, while 70% reported having good Internet connectivity. The virtual classroom was the most frequently used communication tool (61%), followed by WhatsApp (5%).Conclusion: Based on the evaluation of instructional time, professor-student communication, and student participation, the distance education process was deemed appropriate. On the other hand, professors reported differences in the use of instructional strategies, institutional resources, and learning assessment

Analysis of the Problems in Innovation and Entrepreneurship Education for Business Administration Majors

In recent years, China has been vigorously promoting independent entrepreneurship among college students. In order to cultivate more innovative and entrepreneurial talents, a plan combining theory and practice has been proposed to avoid overly written education. This article mainly studies the current situation of innovation and entrepreneurship education in the field of business administration, as well as the focus of teaching and education. Based on a survey of the entrepreneurial situation of business administration students, suggestions are proposed to build a professional oriented innovation and entrepreneurship education model, hoping to better solve the path problem of innovation and entrepreneurship education in the field of business administration.

Improving effectiveness of online learning for higher education students during the COVID-19 pandemic.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, online learning has become one of the important ways of higher education because it is not confined by time and place. How to ensure the effectiveness of online learning has become the focus of education research, and the role of the "online learning community" cannot be ignored. In the context of the Internet of Things (IoT), we try to build up a new online learning community model: (1) First, we introduce the Kolb learning style theory to identify different online learning styles; (2) Second, we use a clustering algorithm to identify the nature of different learning style groups; and (3) Third, we introduce the group dynamics theory to design the dimensions of the questionnaire and combine the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) method to identify the key influencing factors of the online learning community. We take business administration majors and students in universities as an example. The results show that (1) as a machine learning method, the clustering algorithm method is superior to the random construction method in identifying different learning style groups, and (2) our method can well judge the importance of each factor based on hierarchical analysis and clarify the different roles of factors in the process of knowledge transfer. This study can provide a useful reference for the sustainable development of online learning in higher education.

Exploration on the Reform and Evaluation of Practical Teaching of the Course "Management of Aged Care Institutions" Based on the Training of Application Ability

Management of Aged Care Institutions is a compulsory course of basic subject technology for business administration majors, and it is an important core course. Its operability and applicability are very strong. A scientific and reasonable teaching system has become an effective way to promote the cultivation of students' innovative application ability. The paper analyzes the current teaching situation and problems of the course "Management of Aged Care Institutions", and puts forward suggestions to further improve the teaching of the course "Management of Aged Care Institutions", hoping to improve the teaching of the course to a certain extent and improve students' innovative application ability.

The Influence of Public Mental Health Based on Artificial Intelligence Technology on the Teaching Effect of Business Administration Major.

As an emerging technology, public mental health based on artificial intelligence engineering has broad application and development prospects in improving teaching effects, realizing high efficiency and intelligence, and improving refined education. The application of public mental health based on artificial intelligence engineering in the practice of the teaching effect of business administration has a very positive significance for accurately discovering the mental health and teaching effect of business administration students. For the sake of improving the teaching effect of business administration major, we come up with a method for the influence of public mental health on the teaching effect of business administration profession based on artificial intelligence engineering. Firstly, we collect the video and audio of the teaching of business administration, conducts data screening and cleaning, and sorts out the video and audio synchronization clips as training data. Secondly, we propose a multimodal feature extraction network and a multimodal fusion network for the extraction and fusion of video and audio clips, respectively. Then, the fully connected network structure is used to evaluate and classify the effect of business administration professional teaching, and use mental health factors for evaluation to avoid human intervention and improve the prediction effect. Finally, through intensive experimental results, we prove that the method raised by us can use artificial intelligence engineering to evaluate the teaching effect of business administration majors from the perspective of public mental health and achieve good experimental results.

Research on the Construction of Comprehensive Training System for Business Administration Majors in Colleges Based on Computer

Advanced-math course has the typical characteristics of wide concept, deep thinking, complex calculation and proof, which makes it difficult to learn. Therefore, for a long time, there have been some practical problems, such as students’ low interest in learning, poor learning effect and so on. On account of this, this paper first analyses the utilization status of blended-mode of advanced-math, then studies the design of blended-mode of advanced-math on account of cyber teaching platform, and gives the design objectives and utilization strategies.

Research on Personnel Training Mode of Business Administration Major Based on OBE

The establishment of teaching and scientific literacy training for business administration majors in universities is not only related to the implementation quality and level of teaching for business administration majors in universities, but also has an important impact on the training of applied talents in China. In the strategy of rejuvenating the country through science and education, we should not only explain theoretical knowledge in teaching, but also pay attention to the improvement of students’ practical ability and knowledge application ability, especially in higher vocational colleges, so as to provide high-quality talents for the development of various undertakings in China. Cultivating high-level and high-quality innovative talents is an important mission shouldered by colleges and universities, and it is also an urgent need of the development of the times. This paper draws lessons from the advanced educational idea of results-oriented education, and discusses how to improve the teaching quality, students’ professional skills and students’ adaptation to the future working environment through OBE (Outcome-Based Education) teaching mode, so as to find out a teaching mode that is more suitable for improving the professional core competence of college business administration students.

BUILDING PLANES AND LEARNING STANDARD COSTING: A STUDENT-CENTERED APPROACH

Driven by a continuing debate about the management accounting career evolution and the influence of instructional strategies on student performance, this study focuses on active learning strategies in managerial accounting courses. Based on Kolb’s experiential learning theory, a quasi-experiment was developed to assess the effect of a guided aviation manufacturing hands-on team-based case in teaching standard costing to business administration majors. Evidence was gathered from four cohorts of a cost accounting undergraduate course in a large public research university in Brazil. A total of 219 students participated in the study. The instructor taught all groups under identical conditions on a weekly basis. Data processing included descriptive statistics, a paired test (experimental hypothesis), and wordclouds. In addition, experts (faculty in the field) validated the results. Results are robust (Cohen’s d of 1.026) and indicate that the experimental group demonstrate significant pre- to post-test improvement in exam performance, compared to the control group, with a large effect size. Contributions of the study aimed at transferring learning that favors students approach to real life and the development of social skills (student builds, interacts and manages an activity working in teams); a positive experience that may encourage faculty and program administrators to use more active instructional strategies; and preparing the students for the market, developing professionals with demanded working skills.

Comportamento e Potencial Empreendedor à luz da Escala de Carland Entrepreneurship Index (CEI), na Ótica de Estudantes Universitários

Objetivo: analisar a contribuição do ensino de empreendedorismo para o desenvolvimento do potencial empreendedor dos estudantes de Administração de uma Instituição de Ensino Superior. Método: o estudo foi dividido em duas etapas: (1) uma pesquisa descritiva e documental, com abordagem qualitativa; e (2) um estudo quantitativo, por meio de uma survey. O instrumento de coleta de dados utilizado foi proposto por Carland, Carland e Hoy (1992), denominado de Carland Entrepreneurship Index (CEI).Originalidade/Relevância: a pesquisa aprofunda a discussão acerca do potencial empreendedor e do ensino de empreendedorismo, no âmbito da Educação Superior, evidenciando fatores empíricos decisivos para a formação de novos gestores empreendedores.Resultados: os mecanismos metodológicos mostraram a existência de conhecimentos congruentes entre o modelo testado e os conteúdos disseminados em sala de aula, evidenciando, com isso, a contribuição para a formação empreendedora dos estudantes, nos quesitos decrescentes de identificação de potencial empreendedor, tanto para micro quanto para macroempreendedores.Contribuições teóricas/metodológicas: o estudo contribui com a literatura, ao sinalizar, por meio das proposições empíricas, que a integralização de conteúdos, no processo da formação do estudante, exerce uma função balizadora na construção de comportamentos voltados à educação empreendedora.Contribuições sociais/para a gestão: os achados em campo foram salutares ao direcionamento da gestão pedagógica e da equipe docente, no que diz respeito à interdisciplinaridade de conteúdos de formação empreendedora, nos núcleos de formação básica, complementar e no conteúdo dos estudos quantitativos e de suas tecnologias, conforme as Diretrizes Curriculares Nacionais do curso de Graduação em Administração.

The translation task: ITCR students with no expertise in translation


 
 
 As an English teacher at the Costa Rica Institute of Technology, I often see students from the Engineering and Business Administration majors struggling to understand study ma- terials and professional articles in English. Even though the students do not have any training in translation, they have to do this task in their regular classes. They usually use printed dictionaries or computer-assisted translation tools that have been designed for these purposes and that they can access. This observation led, as a result, to the interest in finding out if the students are really able to understand and translate a text from English to Spanish accurately. The translations are analyzed at the word, phrase and sentence levels to examine the comprehension level of the text and the quality of their translations. 
 
 

Heuristic Projects in Open Learning Environments: Time Phase in Individual and Collective Determinants

Given the inquiry-based nature of research projects, this study aims to investigate how graduate students in business administration majors are being involved in developing, achieving, and completing their master theses. Taking into account of two perspectives including the individual factors and collective environment supported by ICTs, the research purpose is to explore the perception of diverse innovation and to validate its critical determinants while using cloud technologies to collaborate as the research premise. In such an open learning environment (OLE), we adopt a sequential research design to 288 management students of two management colleges in central Taiwan. The research participants were at their three phases, i.e., concept, intermediate, and closure, for their thesis projects. Based on the PLS-SEM analysis, the extent of being in community of practice (CoP) was validated statistically as a partial mediator in the two paths: between self-efficacy (SE) and immerse in knowledge ecology (KE), and between self-determination (SD) and KE. Similarly, the perception of individual self-efficacy (SE) identified as another partial mediator between SD and CoP. The differential effect resultant of the time phase on determinants and consequences is also examined. Regardless of the generalized caveats that result from using a non-randomized, regional sample pool, the contribution of this study remains its practical and academic implications in management education and knowledge ecology enhanced in the OLE.

Choosing an undergraduate major in business administration: Student evaluative criteria, behavioral influences, and instructional modalities

Although demand in the United States for business administration majors has historically been high, the supply of graduates in this discipline may be inadequate in the future. While some research indicates that numbers of students selecting a major in business administration has increased, other research reports the opposite. As such, it is important to identify key selection criteria used by students when considering whether or not to major in a business program. This study employed the theory of planned behavior and structural equation modeling, across three instructional modalities (face-to-face, online, and hybrid), to investigate undergraduate students' behavioral intention to major in business administration. An online survey provided 165 usable responses from students enrolled in an introductory management course with the three modalities represented. The results show that students' attitudes did not have a major effect on their intention to major in business administration, while subjective norm and perceived behavioral control effects did influence behavioral intention. No differences were noted in any of the instructional modalities influencing students' attitudes in choosing a business administration major. The findings add to existing research by illustrating how attitude, subjective norm, and perceived behavior control relate to different instructional modalities and influence students’ selection process.

Study on the Cultivation of Business-ability Talents’ Entrepreneurial Ability in Applied Universities in China

By analyzing the literature published by Ling Yao, Tang Yuewen, Fu Zhaogang, and other case studies, the paper compares and compares typical cases and successful experiences of innovation and entrepreneurship education in business administration majors in applied universities at home and abroad. Enlightenment from the Enlightenment Significance of Innovation and Entrepreneurship Education of Application - oriented Business Management Majors in Colleges and Universities under the Situation of Popular Entrepreneurship and Innovation. Based on the analysis of the connotation of entrepreneurial ability, this thesis puts forward the problems in the cultivation of entrepreneurial abilities in the business administration majors of applied universities, and then explores the cultivation path of entrepreneurial ability.

Cyber Business Law and Project-Based Learning

This article describes a project-based learning pedagogical approach to learning legal concepts that transforms these concepts into managerial propositions for students, especially for computer information systems and business administration majors. This pedagogy provides opportunities and experiences for students to become sensitive enough to real-world topics that they can posit a question to a legal professional regarding cyber business laws. The hands-on project-based learning method is an engaging and interactive way to learn the information in a group environment, and then it requires the student to demonstrate knowledge at the individual level. The data collected for this study suggests that the project-based learning style is effective for learning legal concepts.

Research on Training Programs Reform of Business Administration Talents in Agricultural Universities in New Era

In recent years, with the constant development and expansion of Chinese leading enterprises of agricultural industrialization, new higher demands have been raised for the quantity and quality of enterprise management talents. In the paper, by investigating and analyzing the training programs of business administration talents in agricultural universities, it was found that existing talent training programs and the demands of agriculture-related enterprises for management talents in new era have large gaps, and the business administration majors in such universities are suggested to reform their current talent training programs as per the demands of the above agriculture-related enterprises so as to further define their talent training objectives and improve agriculture-related enterprise management courses and practical teaching systems.

Career anchors and values from different career management perspectives

Purpose – To analyze the relationships between career anchors and young Generation Y professionals’ values, from the career concept perspective. Design/methodology/approach – Research concerning the proposed objective was carried out through quantitative research involving 189 Business Administration majors from a Catholic university in Sao Paulo, Brazil. We used two instruments to identify the career anchors and values of respondents: Schein (1990) and Schwartz (1994), respectively. We used statistical techniques to explore the relationships between career anchors and values. Findings – Among the results, mention should be made to the statistical relationships found between analyzed career anchors and values. It is also important to stress that, although the Lifestyle career anchor was predominantly present in the conglomerate division, this anchor was the predominant characteristic in the differentiation of the smaller group of respondents, the new career group. The General Management Career Anchor, which presents a lower incidence, is the predominant characteristic of the larger group, referring to organizational careers. As well as the Lifestyle career anchor, the Hedonism value was predominant among respondents. Originality/value – The need to consider the following was found: Generation Y presents generational characteristics that drive people management to propose work structures that offer activities to generate learning, pleasure, self-fulfillment and conciliation between work and personal life.
