ABSTRACTTen pyrrolidine alkaloids were isolated and identified from three uninvestigated Bulgarian species of genus Senecio. Integerrimine N-oxide was isolated and identified as N-oxide for the first time, while 7—and 9—angeloylplatinecine were proved like base and N-oxide by procedure giving possibility for evaluation of the forms in which they are present in plants. In our research for new natural insecticides an initial study for direct poison effect of some pyrrolizidine alkaloids and total alkaloid mixtures against several pests of economic importance have been conducted. The results showed that retronecine type alkaloids are more toxic than platynecine type. At first high effectiveness of seneciphylline was observed against 0–2 day old greenhouse whitefly's eggs.
