Building Information Modeling (BIM) as a burgeoning information technology has brought about lots of benefits to Architecture Engineering Construction (AEC) industry. Even though BIM has been developing rapidly, BIM applications have been much slower than anticipated. On the basis of extensive literature, this paper divides the factors affecting the BIM acceptance and implementation into two categories: technical and non-technical issues. This paper focuses on listing and introducing the specific impact factors corresponding to each category, and tries to build up one BIM user acceptance model by applying Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) and relevant theories on the premise of the feasibility of the research ideas demonstrated. Through this model, the impact factors and degrees of influence can be tested and modified.
