THE IMPLEMENTATION OF DIGITAL LITERACY TO ENCOURAGE STUDENTS' DEMOCRATIC ENGAGEMENT IN CIVIC EDUCATION LEARNING

Civic education serves as a crucial foundation for students' character building, particularly in fostering their understanding of democratic principles. With the advancement of technology, digital literacy has become an essential element that significantly enhances student engagement in democracy. This study aimed to investigate the impact of digital literacy implementation in civic education across three schools in Bandung: SMA Negeri 11, SMA Negeri 22, and SMK Negeri 14. The research involved three civic education teachers, three IT staff, and nine students from these schools as participants. The methodology adopted was qualitative, utilizing data collection techniques such as observations, interviews, and documentation. The findings revealed that integrating digital literacy in civic education at SMA Negeri 11, SMA Negeri 22, and SMK Negeri 14 positively influenced students' participation in democratic activities. However, the results indicated that significant improvements were not achieved across all indicators, particularly in creativity, critical thinking, and collaboration. The study suggests that while digital literacy has the potential to enhance civic education, further efforts are required to optimize its benefits comprehensively. Overall, the research highlights the need for innovative approaches to effectively integrate digital literacy in civic education to foster a more engaged and democratically active student body.

Sportmanship As One Of The Character Buildings For Football Athletes

Sportsmanship is an individual's attitude and behavior in sports in respecting rules, officials, social conventions, and respect for opponents carried out with a high commitment to sports. The aim of this research is to determine the attitude of sportsmanship as a form of character for football athletes. This research design uses literary research methods. The steps taken to review the literature are by exploring previous research related to sportsmanship to continue or criticize. The initial stage in the form of ideas or theories related to professionalism will be collected and grouped based on predetermined subthemes, after that separating data that supports the subtheme and separating information that is not directly related to the subtheme. Then the data analysis continues and it is narrated in detail according to the needs of this research. The data sources in this research are based on documentation and indexed WEB journals in the form of scientific research journals, dissertations, theses, research reports, textbooks, papers, seminars, official writings that discuss sportsmanship in character building in football athletes. The results of this research prove that one of the elements that supports sportsmanship in forming the character of football athletes is a sports environment that is created and aimed at developing the athlete's character, which is supported by coaches, parents, spectators, administrators, and the athletes themselves. The fundamental element of sportsmanship comes from the internalization of sportsmanship that has been instilled from an early age until the athlete is an adult.

The Implementation of Contextual Teaching and Learning in Student Character Building

The aim of education is not only to improve students' academic performance but also to develop their character. In line with these aims, the author conducted research to describe the teaching strategies of English teachers in building students' character through character education and to examine the effect of contextual teaching and learning on students' character development in the eleventh-grade students of SMK Islam Bojong during the academic year 2021-2022. The author used descriptive qualitative research with purposeful sampling, involving 28 students as the study population. Data were collected using interviews and observation sheets. The data were analyzed using a data triangulation technique. The results showed that contextual teaching and learning can effectively enhance students' character. Contextual teaching and learning also positively impact character building in the eleventh-grade students of SMK Islam Bojong. The author concludes that the contextual teaching and learning strategy is beneficial for integrating character-building into the learning process. It provides students with a valuable learning experience, emphasizing that education is not just about achieving high scores but also about developing good behavior.

Culture-Based Education Innovation for Children's Character Building in the Context of Educational Tourism Destinations

This research aims to explore the innovation of culture-based education as an effort to build children's character in the context of educational tourism destinations. Against the background of the multi-dimensional crisis faced by the nation, learning of culture becomes very strategic to revive patriotism and maintain cultural diversity. This research method uses a descriptive qualitative approach. Data were collected through literature studies, Field observation of educational tourism destinations and how the interaction between learners and the environment takes place, and interview with policy makers and community leaders. The research findings highlighted the need for serious efforts in storing, preserving, and resurfacing scattered cultural data, especially related to oral traditions, manuscripts, customs, rites, traditional knowledge, traditional technology, arts, languages, folk games, and traditional sports. The results reflect the need to focus on strengthening governance related to local traditions, as well as efforts to empower communities through cultural tourism as a source of foreign exchange. In addition, the research highlighted the challenges of saving traditional technologies, local languages, traditional arts and folk games that are in danger of fading away. The research conclusion emphasizes the urgency of promoting culture, literature, and preserving historical traces as an integral part of children's character building efforts. Thus, understanding and love for cultural values can be passed on to the younger generation, strengthening awareness of national identity, and preventing the loss of traditional values amid globalization.

Character Educations’ Comparison in Japan and Indonesia to Achieve Quality Education Goals

In the current era, the implementation of character education is crucial for any country. Japan and Indonesia are two nations that have educational goals centered around character building. However, the execution of character education in these two countries follows different concepts. Despite these differences, both countries share the same objective: to create a quality nation. This study employs a library research method, an activity that utilizes written sources as references to obtain information and data related to the discussed topic. These data and information sources are obtained from various literature, such as books, articles, magazines, and both printed and online websites relevant to the discussion. Japan is known for its strong character education, which is integrated into the school curriculum and extracurricular activities. Meanwhile, in Indonesia, character education is still in the developmental stage, with several new programs and initiatives being launched. However, it still needs to be fully integrated into the overall education system.

Pemberdayaan remaja desa candirejo melalui pkbm untuk meningkatkan skill bersosialisasi di masyarakat

Youth empowerment is an effort to build the activeness of adolescents so that one day they can become people who can maximize their potential they bring benefits to the surrounding environment. Youth empowerment must be built so that these adolescents can grow and develop into productive individuals. In PKBM Candirejo, adolescents who have been active as TBM (Taman Belajar Masyarakat) managers are 11 people, consisting of 3 men and 8 women. This research was conducted in Candirejo Village, Semarang, Central Java in September 2021 using descriptive qualitative methods and data obtained from interviews with PKBM managers and village youth who manage TBM services. This study concluded that the empowerment of village youth has a very good impact on building character, skills, knowledge, and social skills that are beneficial for their future.

Aside from design, adaptive reuse in architecture is underpinned by a complex interplay of aesthetic, historical,environmental, and economic considerations. This paper discusses the rationale behind salvaging old structuresrather than opting for demolition and new builds, examining three key aspects: Firstly, architecture transcends merefunctionality, encompassing history, memory, and ‘human desire’1 to shape the built environment. Old buildingsserve as historical witnesses, embodying2 a narrative that contributes to the cultural richness of their surroundings.Secondly, the sustainability imperative favors the salvage of existing structures over demolition, acknowledging theembodied tangible and intangible resources and energy within them. Finally, the intrinsic value of irreplaceableelements such as traditional construction methods, spatial experiences, and authentic materials underscores theunique character of old buildings. Critical to the success of adaptive reuse projects is meticulous documentation,serving as a vital tool for architects, designers, and preservation experts. But most importantly, adaptive reuse allowsarchitecture to retell historical and contemporary stories multiple times.

Therefore, the correlation between aspects of religion / da'wah, social communication, and science needs to be integrated in the delivery of Islamic religious education and social character building. The main focus is how da'wah and Islamic religious education can build social character in accordance with Islamic values in the midst of rapid social change. The study presented in this research uses a literature review to collect, evaluate and synthesise information from various sources, thus building a comprehensive understanding of the topic discussed. This research found that da'wah and Islamic religious education are very important in building social character in accordance with Islamic values. The concept of effective da'wah communication can help in transforming the values of Islamic religious education into relevant da'wah applications in the modern era. Islamic religious education aims to improve the quality of human resources and create a decent situation for life and the environment. Da'wah and Islamic religious education have an important role in building social character in accordance with Islamic values. In the modern era, da'wah must be able to adapt to the development of science and technology and globalisation to remain relevant and effective. This research emphasises the importance of integration between da'wah and communication to achieve sustainable da'wah goals.

Integrasi Nilai Islam dalam Pendidikan: Studi Kasus Pelatihan Guru Mata Pelajaran Umum pada Madrasah Tsanawiyah

Islamic education in Madrasah Tsanawiyah in Bandung City faces the challenge of integrating Islamic values in the general curriculum. To address this issue, this community service program aims to train general subject teachers in integrating Islamic values into daily learning. The activity involved 70 teachers and used interactive training methods, including workshops and group discussions. The focus of the training was on improving teachers' understanding and skills in applying Islamic values, such as honesty, justice, and cooperation, into subjects such as math, science, and social studies. The results of the program showed a significant improvement in teachers' ability to integrate Islamic values effectively, which contributed to stronger student character building. The activity also identified some challenges in implementing the integration of Islamic values, such as limited time and resources. Therefore, continued support and additional resources are needed to ensure the sustainability of this program. The impact of this service program is expected to make a meaningful contribution to improving the quality of Islamic education in Madrasah Tsanawiyah Bandung City and can be replicated in other schools.

Hamka's Perspective on Parenting to Support Character Building: A Humanist Islamic Approach

<p><em><span lang="EN-US">This article discusses the integration of Hamka's thought and concept of Humanist Islam in the context of childcare and applies it practically to shape children's character according to Humanist Islamic values. The basic assumption of this study is that the integration of Hamka's thought and Humanist Islam offers a holistic approach to shaping children's character, recognizing their spiritual, moral, and social needs. The method used in this study is qualitative, utilizing a comparative and holistic approach as the analytical tool. The findings reveal that Hamka views the role of parents as the main key in shaping children's character. The basic concept of Humanist Islam, with its emphasis on human values, can be applied in parenting to form a balanced and ethical character. The relevance of Hamka's concept of character proves significant in dealing with the dynamics of modern children's lives. Overall, the integration of Hamka's thought and Humanist Islam provides a solid and empowering framework for shaping children's character while remaining relevant in the face of modern life's challenges. Additionally, the concept of Humanist Islam has significant implications in childcare practices, especially within the Indonesian national education system, influencing learning methods, curriculum, and the attitudes of the educational environment. This shapes children to be quality, inclusive, and tolerant individuals. This research contributes to providing a theoretical and practical foundation for parents, educators, and related parties to understand, implement, and develop empowered parenting strategies.</span></em></p>

Analysis of the Effect of Islamic Character Education, Multicultural Learning, and Extracurricular Activities on the Character Building of Pesantren Students in Central Java

This study explores the influence of Islamic character education, multicultural learning, and extracurricular activities on the character building of students in Islamic boarding schools in Central Java. A quantitative research design was employed, utilizing a survey method to collect data from 150 students. The data were analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling with Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS). The results indicated that Islamic character education, multicultural learning, and extracurricular activities all had significant positive impacts on character building, with path coefficients of, respectively. The model explained 52% of the variance in character building. These findings underscore the importance of integrating religious teachings, multicultural perspectives, and extracurricular engagement in educational curricula to foster the holistic development of students. The study offers valuable insights for educators and policymakers in enhancing character education programs within Islamic boarding schools.

KAJIAN PELESTARIAN BANGUNAN CAGAR BUDAYA MASJID HUNTO SULTAN AMAY GORONTALO

Abstract: Study on the Preservation of the Cultural Heritage Building Hunto Sultan Amay Mosque in Gorontalo. This research aims to examine and identify the significance of Islamic architecture, including architectural elements that form the building's character and Islamic architectural elements, and to analyze and determine the direction of preservation for the Hunto Sultan Amay Mosque. The methods used in this research include three approaches: descriptive analysis method, evaluative method (weighting), and development method. The identification results of the significance of Islamic architecture in the Hunto Sultan Amay Mosque are based on the original plan, which measures 12 x 12 m², including elements such as the dome, mihrab, and Islamic architectural ornaments such as calligraphy, floral, and geometric patterns that form aesthetics and characteristics similar to the Nabawi Mosque in the Middle East. The preservation directions for the Hunto Sultan Amay Mosque building are classified based on low, medium, and high potential levels. Based on the potential level determination, conservation directions for the building elements are then established according to their condition. There are seven high-potential elements and four medium-potential elements. The preservation directions for the Hunto Sultan Amay Mosque building are divided into preservation directions for four elements: columns, dome, mihrab, and arches; conservation directions for six elements: doors, walls, ornaments, ceiling, roof, and minaret; and restoration direction for one element: windows.

Building Character Through Teaching Literature to Children who are in Trouble with the Law

This research aims to build character through teaching literature to children who had problems with the law at the Special Children's Development Institute (LPKA) Maros, South Sulawesi. The research method used is descriptive qualitative with a field study approach with a deductive model in understanding the research problem. The data source in this research is the Head of the Child Convict Development Section of LPKA Maros and Andikpas (Correctional Students), totaling 45 men. The results of this research show that through teaching literature Andikpas' desires can be known. The most dominant desire while at LPKA is to gather with parents or family. From this literature teaching, it can be seen that Andikpas has the most impressive objects while at LPKA. These objects include a toothbrush (plate), bet ( beater used in table tennis), television, Al-Quran, books, guitar, and photos. These objects will be a reminder of the past to look to the future for Andikpas, to do better and even become creative individuals amidst advances in technology and information. Of the seven most impressive objects, Andikpas stated that the ompreng was the most dominant.

The Mathematics Learning Process in Using Counting Media in Grade 1 Elementary School Students as an Improvement in Student Understanding

The purpose of writing this research is to find out that math learning has an important role in shaping students' understanding and numeracy skills. Teachers use various active learning strategies such as math games, math manipulatives, and creative projects to help students understand math concepts concretely. Students are also invited to see the connection between mathematics and daily life situations. This research uses a qualitative descriptive approach to explain the implementation of innovative learning in student character building in junior high school. The qualitative approach is used to describe naturally observed phenomena and to interpret the meaning behind them. The results of the study Mathematics is a fundamental branch of science, covering concepts such as numbers, counting, algebra, geometry, statistics, and calculus. Using symbols, formulas and rules, mathematics allows us to explain and model phenomena in a wide range of fields, from nature to science, technology and economics. More than just a tool for solving practical problems, math is also a means for the development of logical, analytical, and creative thinking skills.

Keefektifan Metode Role Play untuk Meningkatkan Pemahaman Siswa pada Mata Pelajaran Budi Pekerti Berbahasa Mandarin

Characteristics learning has the goal of imparting ethical or morals. According to the Ethics Learning theme "Chapter 12 Giving advice and Chapter 13 Caring for friends" which were covered during the research, the researcher t chose the title "The Effectiveness of the Role Play Method for Increasing Students' Understanding of the Chinese Language Ethics Subject." Data measurement uses quantitative methods. Character Building learning utilizes the Chinese language role play method to help students understand the learning theme while training them to speak Chinese confidently in front of the class. The data collected for measurement consists of quiz results completed by students. The quiz results reveal that many students have not met the competency limits. In other words, role play method in this research has not yet achieved the targeted success. The main factor that influences the success or failure of research on the role play method is insufficient practice time, preventing students to understanding and speaking fluently in Chinese during role play dialogues. What students are currently doing is still at the reading stage, their body movements do not align with the practice required by the theme.

Integrasi Pendidikan Islam Dalam Pengelolaan Kelas Untuk Pembentukan Generasi Berkarakter

This research discusses the importance of integrating Islamic education in classroom management to shape student character and improve academic achievement. Although there are barriers such as a lack of teacher training and government support, recommended solutions include providing comprehensive training, integrating Islamic education with other sciences, emphasizing individual differences, providing specific instructional instructions, applying the lesson study approach and encouraging the integration of Islamic values in all aspects of education. The research method used was a literature study and qualitative data analysis to identify challenges and solutions in the integration of Islamic education in classroom management. The results show that the integration of Islamic education in classroom management is seen to improve student character, academic achievement and the overall learning experience. By focusing on holistic student character building, values such as sincerity, simplicity, independence, tolerance and care for the environment can be instilled. The role of teachers in instilling character values in students through their example and guidance is crucial. Evaluating students' characters and overcoming obstacles in the integration of Islamic education is also an important part of achieving the broader goals of education, particularly in shaping a young generation that has strong characters and good morals.

Pentingnya Pendidikan Entrepreneurship Sebagai Upaya Pembentukan Karakter Entrepreneur Mahasiswa Pencetak Lapangan Kerja

Systematically, this paper describes the reasons for the importance of educational entrepreneurship in character building for students and assumes that educational entrepreneurship will encourage students to start entrepreneurship. The many problems of poverty do have consequences on competition in getting jobs because in Indonesia it is very limited. It is only fitting that as the next generation of the nation in the future, students should be persistent in encouraging the spirit of entrepreneurship so that they do not rely on limited job opportunities but must become job providers and creators. The method used in this study is the Literature Review method, which is to review the themes raised. The way to collect information from this library activity is from various library sources which are needed as a source for developing new ideas in the form of a framework which will eventually become a theory. Entrepreneurial character through learning about entrepreneurship can be built through higher education. For students to cultivate entrepreneurial traits, they must start early because truly reliable and successful entrepreneurs start from small to large things or businesses, not the other way around. Students must get rid of thoughts about entrepreneurship, namely when starting a business they must have large capital money and feel unable to take risks that will be faced in the future.

Differences in Self-Awareness of Students Who Attend Islamic and General Bases

The study aimed to find the relationship between the self-awareness of psychology students at Raden Fatah Islamic University and Sriwijaya University, Palembang. Self-awareness can be interpreted as a person's ability to understand deeply, including strengths, weaknesses, values, and feelings. The method used is quantitative with a comparative research type by collecting data using a questionnaire, then there is an independent sample T-test. The self-awareness scale is presented in the form of a Likert scale, which is distributed through a questionnaire with four response options: Very Unsuitable (STS), Not Appropriate (TS), Appropriate (S), and Very Appropriate (SS). Favorable statement items are assessed as follows: STS is given a score of 1, TS is given a score of 2, S is given a score of 3, and SS is given a score of 4. Meanwhile, the value of unfavorable statements is given the opposite value. The research results show that the overall population data of respondents consisted of N = 50, consisting of N = 25 Sriwijaya University and N = 25 UIN Raden Fatah Palembang. Sriwijaya University mean value = 77.92, std. Deviation = 4.73392, std. Error Mean = 0.946788. Raden Fatah State Islamic University Palembang mean value = 79.72, std. Deviation = 6.90724, std. Error Mean = 1.38145. sig. value (2-tailed) = 0.288, while research = 5% or 0.05 means (0.288 > 0.05) it can be concluded that this study accepts H0 and rejects Ha. It can be concluded that there is no significant difference in self-aswers on Character Building in Students at Raden Fatah State Islamic University and Sriwijaya University Palembang.
