A capacitor microphone using the ceramic boron nitride as the diaphragm has been built and tested at room temperature. This material was chosen because it offers promise of maintaining suitable strength and flexibility to 1000°C. Design and the frequency response at room temperature are given. Development was halted before testing at elevated temperatures.
