Papuan local wisdom and problem-based learning: Integrated into student books and its effect on students' conservation attitudes

Papua, which is known to be rich in local wisdom, has great potential in environmental conservation if supported by a strong conservative attitude from its citizens. This research aims to determine the influence of problem-based student books integrated with Papuan local wisdom on the conservation attitudes of class VII junior high school students. This research is experimental research conducted at junior high schools in the Tanah Merah area of Bintuni Bay. In this study, the sample used was class VII, consisting of 38 students. There were 19 students in the control and experimental classes each. A conservation attitude questionnaire was used to measure students' conservation attitudes. Data were analyzed using the t test. The results show that problem-based student books integrated with Papuan local wisdom have a better effect than the control class. Local wisdom adds to students' information regarding the management of endemic organisms where they live. The problem of extinction in PBL learning empowers students to think about how to conserve organisms so that extinction factors that influence the classification of living things can be prevented.

ABSOLUTE SYNONYMS IN INDONESIAN STUDENT BOOKS FOR CLASS X AND XI (INDEPENDENT CURRICULUM)

Synonyms are a type of semantic meaning relationship material that functions to enrich the vocabulary. One type of synonym is an absolute synonym, namely words that have identical meanings and can replace each other in all contexts. The use of absolute synonyms is found in Indonesian language student books for classes X and XI. This research aims to describe absolute synonyms based on word class and grammatical level in Indonesian language student books for classes X and This research uses a qualitative method with a descriptive approach. The data for this research are words, phrases and sentences in students' books for class X and XI Indonesian. The objects of this research are the class X Indonesian ebook by Aulia and Gumilar in 2021 and the class The results of this research found 50 absolute synonym data in Indonesian language student books for classes X and XI. The data is classified into (1) absolute synonyms based on word classes including 19 noun data, 1 numeral data, 5 adjective data, and 2 verb data; and (2) absolute synonyms based on grammatical level including 3 word data, 18 phrase data and 2 sentence data. Thus, it can be concluded that absolute synonyms can still be found, but they tend to be fewer than other types of synonyms.

Development of Math Stook: An Exploration of Math Stories for Elementary School Students

Research on the development of math story books for elementary school students still needs to be conducted further. Studies on the appropriate design, effectiveness, and effects on students' mathematical understanding are still limited, so more needs to be done. This research aims to develop Math Stook (Math Story Book) as a math learning media for elementary school students. The research method used is the RnD or Research and Development method with the ADDIE research model which consists of 5 stages: Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. Data were collected through observation and interviews. The validity of Math Stook was evaluated by a group of validators, including media design experts, learning material experts, and pretest and posttest question experts. The results showed that Math Stook was rated as highly valid by the validators. In addition, this study measured the level of math comprehension of grade III students before and after using Math Stook, showing a significant increase. Although the N-Gain value fell into the “medium” category, this study concluded that Math Stook was effective in improving students' mathematical understanding. Recommendations for future research include further exploration of the effect of Math Stook on students' math skills, development of a version tailored to students' needs, as well as the use of a combined approach between quantitative and qualitative methods to explore its impact.

Developing the Local Wisdom-Based Pop-Up Book for Fifth-Grade Students

Within the context of Kurikulum Merdeka (Indonesian Curriculum), traditional teaching methods often fail to engage elementary students effectively, leading to boredom and limited learning experiences. To address this, a study was conducted at a public primary school in Wonosobo Regency, revealing the need for interactive learning materials. This research focuses on developing Local Wisdom-based Pop-Up Books tailored for fifth-grade students in Indonesia. Through rigorous evaluation by experts and positive feedback from teachers and students, the Pop-Up Books prove to be highly effective in enhancing learning outcomes. Statistical analysis confirms significant improvements in student performance after using the Pop-Up Books. This study highlights the importance of innovative learning media in enriching educational experiences for elementary students.

This research aims to analyze language errors in the spelling of preschool students. In the student's thesis abstract, writing errors were found. Students' mistakes when writing their thesis abstracts are sometimes not using the correct Indonesian spelling. The method used in this research is a qualitative descriptive method and data collection procedure techniques in the form of observation. Based on the research results, the samples taken were 7 abstract data and student books at Medan State University, Early Childhood Education Teacher Education Study Program. In writing abstracts there is language spelling that is not correct according to the Enhanced Indonesian Spelling (EYD) guidelines, namely in the use of prepositions, use of capital letters, writing full stops, use of italics and errors in writing words. There are 7 spelling error data contained in the abstracts and PGPAUD student books. Based on the results of the discussion above, it can be concluded that the author is inaccurate in using language spelling in capital letters, italics, words with affixes, use of abbreviations, use of punctuation.

Perceptions of Sustainability among Children and Teachers: Problems Revealed via the Lenses of Science Communication and Transformative Learning

Scholars and policymakers see sustainability as depending on the inter-relationships between the three pillars of the environment, society, and the economy. However, it remains less clear how key stakeholders with a responsibility for educating the next generation perceive the concept of sustainability and act accordingly. In order to gain new insights, this research scrutinises participant perceptions of sustainability and climate change in two eco-schools in England for primary children (aged 5–11 years). Our case study involved individual interviews with classroom teachers and headteachers, group interviews with fourth- and fifth-year students (ages 10–12 years), and in-class observations. We also analysed data from student exercise books and photographs of school grounds to understand participants’ self-reported knowledge and perceptions of sustainability and climate change. Within a framework drawing on theories of science communication and transformative learning (a learning approach based on having challenging experiences), the results show that the integration of sustainability into the curriculum was limited and problematic. That is despite the fact that all students and teachers were aware of the environmental dimensions of sustainability, such as climate change and the overuse of natural sources. These findings suggest that schools are no different to other institutional settings when it comes to dealing with the challenges of integrating sustainability into daily practice. We conclude that there is a need for in-service teacher education programmes to enable and motivate teachers to provide richer teaching-learning environments so as to enable effective learning in schools about sustainability and climate change.

EARLY LITERACY FOR YOUNG PEOPLE AND ADULTS: EDUCATORS’ CONTINUING TRAINING

The present focus of my research, extension online courses for teaching early literacy is aimed at eradicating functional illiteracy in Brazil, to form critical readers of texts circulating socially, able of writing what is appropriate to their pragmatic intentions, in different communicative situations. The instrument to achieve this goal is Scliar Early Literacy System (SSA), which contains the proposal foundations, the methodology, the instructions for applying the Units in the classroom, the reading and writing books for both teachers and students and the students' respective activity notebooks. This research goal is the teachers’ continuous training for improving young people and adult education, adopting a cutting-edge methodology, inspired by linguistic, neuroscience, neuropsychology, psycholinguistic and sociolinguistic advances. In this paper, I will deal with how to reach a qualitative leap in early literacy among young people and adults, changing the foundations that guide the mediator’s training, the methodology and the pedagogical material, from a perspective associating human and biological sciences. We cannot separate culture from the biological, from the brain, whose structure and functioning make its emergence possible.

Development and Utilization of Mini Herba Park (Family Medicinal Plant Education Park) as The Instructional Media of Students in RA Miftahul Ulum Arjasa, Jember, East Java

Mini Herba Park (Family Medicinal Plant Education Park) is a program to develop a Toga (Family Medicinal Plant) garden which is used as a learning medium for students at RA Miftahul Ulum. This community service aims to introduce and utilize Toga Park as a instructional media. Methods for implementing this program include conducting initial site surveys and interviews, making program plans, planning learning media and teacher modules, preparing the Mini Herba Park in the form of a place, tools and materials needed as well as other needs, carrying out learning and finally carrying out monitoring and evaluation. The results of this program include a Toga educational park in the school environtment, learning media in the form of accompanying books for teachers and students who have registered with HKI.

Descriptive Analysis of Questions in the 2013 Curriculum Textbook (2018 Revised Edition) for Grade IX SMP/MTs Mathematics Lessons in Terms of the 2019 TIMSS Cognitive Domain

This study aims to determine the proportion of questions in the 2013 curriculum student book for Mathematics grade IX SMP/MTs that are categorized in the TIMSS cognitive domains compared to the proportion of TIMSS 2019 standards. This type of research uses descriptive qualitative research. The research instrument used was the assessment framework guidelines that have been provided in the TIMSS 2019 book. The research process began with an analysis of the questions contained in the Mathematics student book for grade IX SMP/MTs which was conducted independently by the researcher. The results showed that from 344 valid items contained in the Mathematics student book for grade IX SMP/MTs, the percentage of “knowing” cognitive domain in the book was 37.68%, compared to the standard set by the TIMSS 2019 assessment criteria of 35%. Then, the percentage of “applying” cognitive domain in the book is 52.21%, compared to the standard set by TIMSS 2019 assessment criteria of 40%. Meanwhile, the percentage of “reasoning” cognitive domain in the book was 10.11%, compared to the standard set by the TIMSS 2019 assessment criteria of 25%.

Development Model of Augmented Reality: A Need Analysis of Vocabulary Book for ESP Students

Abstract. The real challenge in 5.0 society requires meeting the needs of future generations who can use foreign languages and master technology. This study investigated the need for specific learning sources or materials for vocational students specifically majoring in Informatics Engineering in vocabulary learning. Since vocabulary is a fundamental language aspect of using English in reciprocal communications, this study is a type of survey research that uses quantitative and qualitative data analysis techniques. The instruments used to obtain the data were developed referring to the principal notion of a need assessment proposed by Hutchinson and Waters, validated by a language expert, and served through a questionnaire. The setting of this study involved 48 students of Vocational Students of Informatics Engineering at a private vocational school in Jakarta, Indonesia. The results showed that students of Informatics Engineering at vocational schools must be able to communicate in English, both written and spoken, using the specific term related to their department. Besides studying ESP to work, some students planned to continue to higher education with expertise in linear education. Therefore, they need to learn vocabulary with the integration of technology as they are supposed to deal with it in their field of work in informatics engineering to join the 5.0 society with the advancement of augmented reality-based media. Examining The Foundations Of Academic Books: A Longmanian Analysis Of The Oxford Eap Elementary/A2 Student Book

This article delves into the analysis of the Oxford EAP Elementary/A2 Student Book using the analytical framework developed by M.H. Longman. The focus lies on comprehending the structure, content, and learning objectives embedded within the textbook. Through the Longmanian framework, various aspects such as clarity, consistency, relevance to learning objectives, variation in material presentation, and student engagement are evaluated. The analysis aims to provide insights into how the book is designed and utilized in educational contexts, thereby enhancing its effectiveness in supporting student learning at the Elementary/A2 level in academic language contexts. Additionally, the integration of language skills and academic skills within the book is explored to assess its role in preparing students for success in English-speaking academic environments at university level.

Distance Learning Model of Mathematics During the Covid-19 Pandemic in Madrasah Ibtidaiyah

The Covid-19 pandemic has prompted substantial changes in elementary schools, including Madrasah Ibtidaiyah, in adapting their learning methods. This situation has posed several challenges, particularly in implementing distance learning. The objective of this research is to analyze the distance learning model of mathematics in Madrasah Ibtidaiyah. Qualitative research methodology was employed for this study. This research was conducted in one of Madrasah Ibtidaiyah located in South Tangerang city, Banten Province, Indonesia. The participants included school principals, vice principals responsible for curriculum, and teachers conducting mathematics classes through online distance learning. Data collection utilized methods such as observation, interviews, and documentation. The data analysis comprised four steps: data collection, data reduction, data display, and data conclusion. The results showed that the distance learning model of mathematics is delineated through various aspects. These include the preparation of an emergency curriculum during an emergency curriculum during the Covid-19 pandemic, the implementation of online distance learning procedures involving teachers, students, and parents, the selection of online distance learning methods, the utilization of various online learning media, the utilization of student books as learning resources, and the evaluation program of learning to measure the achievement of mathematics learning objectives. These findings can serve as a reference for developing a distance learning model for mathematics that can be implemented in Madrasah Ibtidaiyah during the Covid-19 pandemic. PERAN GURU DALAM PELAKSANAAN PEMBELAJARAN IPAS MELALUI IMPLEMENTASI KURIKULUM MERDEKA DI SD NEGERI 01 NAMROLE

The curriculum functions to regulate and serve as a guide for teachers, as well as efforts to realize educational goals. The emergence of a new curriculum, namely the independent learning curriculum. One implementation is that science and social studies subjects are combined into one under the name IPAS. This is based on the fact that elementary school age children see everything in an integrated manner, even though not in detail. This research uses a qualitative approach with descriptive research type. The research subjects were school principals, science and science teachers for classes IA, IB and IVA, IVB. Data collection was carried out by observation, interviews and documentation. The data analysis techniques are carried out by data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results of the research show that: First, at SD Negeri 01 Namrole, the Independent Curriculum has been implemented by implementing project-based learning, diagnostic, formative and summative assessments, subject-based learning, science, report cards, ATP and Teaching Modules carried out in groups. Second, the role of teachers in implementing the Independent Curriculum. There are 13 teacher roles, namely corrector, inspirer, informator, organizer, motivator, initiator, facilitator, guide, demonstrator, class manager, mediator, supervisor and evaluator. in planning, implementing and assessing learning are difficulties in analyzing CP, formulating TP and compiling ATP and Teaching Modules, determining learning methods and strategies, lack of ability to use technology, limited student books, lack of ability and readiness to use learning methods and media, teaching materials are too broad , determining class I and IV projects, lack of time allocation for project-based learning, determining the form of assessment and form of assessment in project-based learning. Third, the efforts applied by teachers in overcoming problems in implementing the Independent Learning Curriculum are regular meetings with KKG, PMO assistance and specifically coaching school principals, using alphabet books, writing on the board, typing, making worksheets, and creating formats for their own projects, continuing the project. at home, make notes, and take part in training to implement the Merdeka Curriculum.

EFEKTIFITAS METODE AL-MIFTAH DALAM MENINGKATKAN KEMAMPUAN MEMBACA KITAB KUNING SANTRI

The research objective in this study is to review the effectiveness of the al-Miftah method in improving the ability to read the yellow book for students at the Sullamul Hidayah Islamic boarding school in Probolinggo. In this study, researchers conducted research using a qualitative approach, while the type of research used was a case study that explored real life. The sources of data and information obtained in this research were from observations and interviews with several parties concerned. The results of research at the Sullamul Hidayah Islamic Boarding School show that this method is very influential and effective for new students who will start the basic science of reading the yellow book, namely the science of nahwu and sharaf. The effectiveness of the al-Miftah method at the Sullamul Hidayah Islamic Boarding School is that it provides a guarantee that within one year the students at the Sullamul Hidayah Islamic Boarding School have the ability to read the yellow book well according to the rules. Apart from that, it also has a positive impact on the quality of Islamic boarding schools which have proven successful in winning yellow book reading competitions at the sub-district and district levels.

The Violating Grice’s Maxim in the Dialogue Text of Student's English Book (Under the Merdeka Curriculum)

Penelitian ini menganalisis pelanggaran maksim prinsip kooperatif Grice. Penelitian ini menganalisis teks dialog buku bahasa Inggris siswa dan berada di bawah Kurikulum Merdeka. Peneliti berharap dapat memberikan penjelasan mengenai makna tersirat dari teks dialog dalam buku tersebut. Pertanyaan mengenai macam-macam maksim dalam Prinsip Kerja Sama yang perlu dipatuhi, dan bagaimana implikatur tersebut muncul dalam teks dialog. Dengan melakukan hal ini peneliti mampu memberikan penjelasan tentang makna tersirat dari teks dialog dalam buku tersebut. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah memberikan pemahaman bahwa guru perlu menjelaskan sesuatu di luar bahasa. Buku siswa memandu mereka dalam menggunakan bahasa target. Analisis ini termasuk metode deskriptif-kualitatif. Hasil analisis menunjukkan beberapa maksim mengambang dalam dialog; ada maksim kuantitas & relevansi yang mengambang. Pelanggaran maksim kuantitas berjumlah dua dan maksim relevansi berjumlah satu. Teks dialog dalam buku harus memberikan siswa pemahaman yang baik tentang bagaimana menggunakan bahasa tersebut. Inklusi, penting bagi semua pemangku kepentingan yang peduli terhadap hal ini. Pendidik hendaknya memberikan isi dalam buku siswa sebagaimana adanya dalam pemahaman holistik

Pengaruh Metode Amtsilati Terhadap Kemampuan Membaca Kitab Kuning Santri

This study aims to determine the application of the amtsilati method in PP. As-Sa'idiyyah 1, and to determine the effect of the amtsilati method on the ability to read the yellow book of PP students. As-Sa'idiyyah 1 Bahrul 'Ulum Tambakberas Jombang. The problem of this research started with the students who had difficulty understanding the grammatical Arabic, nahwu and shorof for learning the yellow book. This research uses quantitative research methods. where the research instrument used was a questionnaire using a Likert measurement scale. The population in this study amounted to 60 respondents. The data analysis technique uses a simple linear regression test and is proven using the partial t test. The level used is 0.05. The results of this study indicate that there is an effect of the amtsilati method on the ability to read the yellow book of PP students. As-Sa'idiyyah 1 Bahrul 'Ulum of Jombang rice ponds. This is proven by using the partial t test, namely 0.000 <0.05, which means that Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted. Thus that there is an influence of the amtsilati method on the ability to read the yellow book of students.

Development of Interactive E-Module Based on Inquiry Learning to Enhance IPAS Learning Outcomes for Students Public Elementary School

The purpose of this study was to develop and test the feasibility and effectiveness of an Interactive E-Module based on Inquiry Learning teaching materials on improving the cognitive learning outcomes of IPAS for fourth-grade students of SD Negeri Tambahagung 03 Pati Regency. This type of development research is Research and Development (R&D) using the ADDIE development model. The novelty of this research is the development of material on the Human Sensory System in teacher books and student books based on an innovative learning model, namely Inquiry Learning, which includes interactive edugame evaluations. The results showed the feasibility of media experts with a score of 89.0635% in the very feasible category and material experts with a score of 91.23% in the very feasible category. This is supported by a teacher-response questionnaire of 97.5% and a student-response questionnaire of 93.73%. The effectiveness of Interactive E-Modules based on Inquiry Learning based on the cognitive learning outcomes of students has increased with a normality test analysis, which shows that pre-test and post-test data are typically distributed. The results of the T-test calculation show that there is a significant difference between the pre-test and post-test learning outcomes with the acquisition of a medium category average through the N-Gain test. The conclusion of the research on the development of inquiry learning-based interactive e-modules was successfully developed, and it was very feasible and effective for improving the cognitive learning outcomes of IPAS fourth-grade students of SD Negeri Tambahagung 03 Pati Regency.

Development of Social Emotional Based Book Activity: Product Validity

Indonesia is in the fifth highest position out of 78 countries where most of the students experience bullying. The Ministry of Education and Culture has issued various policies intended to overcome this problem, one of which is establishing the Pancasila student profile as the vision of Indonesian education. To support this, educators are needed who have high qualifications, competence, and dedication in carrying out their professional duties. Based on extracting information from preliminary research that has been carried out by researchers, the main problem faced by early childhood teachers is the lack of references regarding activities that can be carried out by early childhood teachers to realize the themes set by the Ministry in realizing an integrated Pancasila student profile, teaching media, and evaluation tools. This research aims to produce an activity book for teachers based on social emotional learning, which has been proven to be practical and effective in increasing the competency of early childhood postal teachers, and to produce an activity book for students based on social emotional learning which has an impact on the growth and development of Pancasila student profiles for PAUD students. The data collection and analysis methods used in the first year were documentation methods to obtain data on teaching materials before they were developed, questionnaires to obtain expert validation data, and readability by partner teachers. All data will be analyzed descriptively.

Design of the Nirmana Dwimatra Teaching Material Book for Students of the Polimedia Photography Department

Students in the Photography department will study various photography techniques and theories, such as portrait photography, landscape photography, product photography, and documentary photography. In the photography department, students will study the techniques and process of making images, which is a form of Dwimatra art. Through the Nirmana Dwimatra course, students will understand the techniques and methods for creating quality photographic works, which apply basic art concepts, such as perspective, color, shape, and so on. Apart from that, the Nirmana Dwimatra course can also help students in the photography department to develop their creativity and imagination, as well as understand how to combine techniques and concepts in the process of creating photographic works. Therefore, the Nirmana Dwimatra course is closely related to the photography department and can help students understand and practice photography well. Therefore, there is a need for effective and interesting teaching materials related to the Nirmana Dwimatra course specifically for the Jakarta Polymedia Photography Department.
