Development of Blog-Based Learning Media With Sarong Context on Lines and Angles Material

This study aims to produce learning media based on blogs with the context of covers on lines and angles material using the PMRI approach which was valid, practical and has a potential effect on the ability to understand mathematical concepts in class VII students of SMP LTI IGM Palembang. The research method used was the development research method using the Tessmer flow (1993) which consists of the preliminary stage (preparation and design stages) and the formative evaluation stage, namely self-evaluation, expert review, one-to-one, small group and field tests). Data collection was carried out using validation sheets, questionnaires, interviews and tests. From the results of the study it was concluded that the blog-based mathematics learning media developed was qualitatively valid in terms of comments and suggestions from the validator, besides that quantitatively the percentage of validity was 4.129 and practically both qualitatively and quantitatively by looking at the comments and suggestions it was stated that blog-based learning media was practically used and the result of the analysis of the practical average of the questionnaire calculation is 76.263. Then the results of a high potential effect on students' conceptual understanding abilities with an average of 82.033.

Developing a Community of Inquiry using an educational blog in higher education from the perspective of Bangladesh

Web 2.0 tools such as blogs, wikis, social networking, and podcasting have received attention in educational research over the last decade. Blogs enable students to reflect their learning experiences, disseminate ideas, and participate in analytical thinking. The Community of Inquiry (CoI) framework has been widely used in educational research to understand and enhance online and blended learning platforms. There is insufficient research evidence to demonstrate the impact of educational blogging using the CoI model as a framework. This article explores how blogs can be used to support collaborative learning and how such an interaction upholds CoI through enhancing critical thinking and meaningful learning in the context of higher education (HE). An exploratory sequential mixed-method approach has been followed in this study. A convenience sampling method was employed to choose 75 undergraduate students from Dhaka University for a 24-week blogging project. Every publication on the blog was segmented into meaningful units. Whole texts of posts and comments are extracted from the blog, and the transcripts are analyzed in a qualitative manner considering the CoI framework, more specifically, through the lens of cognitive, social, and teaching presence. In addition, the semi-structured questionnaire is used to collect data from students irrespective of whether blogging expedited students' learning or not. The research findings indicate that cognitive presence, namely, the exploration component, is dominant in blog-based learning activity. Moreover, this research has demonstrated that blogs build reliable virtual connections among students through exchanging ideas and information and by offering opportunities for reflective practice and asynchronous feedback. This study also revealed challenges related to blogging in the context of developing countries, including lack of familiarity with blogs, restricted internet connectivity, limited access to devices, and low levels of social interaction. It is recommended that different stakeholders including policymakers, curriculum developers, and teachers take the initiative to synchronize the utilization of educational blogs with the formal curriculum, guaranteeing that blog activities supplement and improve traditional teaching–learning activities.

PENGEMBANGAN MEDIA PEMBELAJARAN BERBASIS BLOG UNTUK MENINGKATKAN MOTIVASI BELAJAR X SMAN 1 TANJUNG BUMI

The application of technology in learning as a learning medium will make it easier for students to learn according to their characteristics and can help teachers when overcoming difficulties in conveying learning material. This study aims to determine the procedure for blog-based learning media, and whether or not the learning media is appropriate, as well as to analyze the development or increase in student motivation after the introduction of class X blog-based learning media at SMAN 1 Tanjung Bumi. This study uses research and development methods using the ADDIE model. Using data sources from teachers and students at SMAN 1 Tanjung Bumi, with research data on the development of learning media. Data collection using a questionnaire. Data analysis techniques are qualitative and quantitative data analysis, qualitative data analysis of media is carried out according to the scores of material experts, media experts, economic learning practitioners, and student response questionnaires. The results of research on the development of blog-based learning media in class X OJK lessons with the satisfaction of using blog-based learning media are very suitable for use in learning; student responses experienced an increase in motivation to take part in learning

Implementation of Blog-Based Learning Media: Community Service for Elementary School Teachers

Elementary schools in Driyorejo Gresiks consist of 11 private elementary schools and 26 public elementary schools. The location of the school is mostly located in rural areas and most teachers are rarely involved in scientific activities carried out by universities, so that the knowledge and understanding of teachers is still not related to learning media or other learning innovations. The results of interviews obtained from several teachers in public and private elementary schools at UPTD Driyorejo, Gresik Regency obtained information that some teachers almost never use blog-based learning media because the media does not exist and the ability of teachers to develop it is also lacking. This has an impact on the implementation of learning activities that take place less meaningfully and tend to be rote in nature. The use of blog-based learning is expected to increase teacher innovation, motivate, and increase student achievement optimally. Community service is carried out by conducting training on the implementation of blog-based learning media. The training implementation stage is carried out in two sessions. The first session explained the blog-based learning media material. Second session of training iimplementation of blog-based learning media for elementary school teachers in Driyorejo Gresik.

PENGGUNAAN MEDIA PEMBELAJARAN BERBASIS BLOG BAGI MAHASISWA

As professionals, lecturers must be able to use and utilize media to support the learning process. Through the use of learning media, the presentation of the material becomes easier. Various types of learning media that can be used, one of which is a blog media. Apart from being free and not acknowledging space and time, blogs are a very efficient communication medium so that lecturers and students can interact such as asking questions, discussing and so on. In addition, blog-based learning media are also more flexible, lecture materials can be presented in attractive forms such as videos, pictures, and also PPT. Blog-based learning media is not only beneficial for students but also for the lecturers themselves. The blog is proof of his professionalism. Through blogs, lecturers can also indirectly improve their quality to be more creative, hone lecturers' skills in literacy, and can add insight.

THE EFFECTIVENESS OF GUTINMATHE'S IN BLOG-BASED LEARNING WITH A CONTEXTUAL APPROACH ON LINEAR EQUATION SYSTEM

This study aimed to determine how effective the learning is using Gutinmathe's blog with a contextual approach. This research employed a quantitative approach and ADDIE Web development method, with analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation stages. The population in this study were Year 10 students of one of the vocational high School in Pandaan, Indonesia and the samples were Year 10 students majoring in Medical Laboratory Technology from the school. The data was analyzed using the paired-sample t-test conducted by SPSS. Gutinmathe's blog learning media was validated by two media expert lecturers and one teacher. The media validation score was 78.33%, meaning that the blog media is feasible to use. The results of this study indicate differences in learning outcomes before and after using the Gutinmathe blog-based learning media, where the students' post-test answers are better than the pre-test. It shows that using Gutinmathe's blog-based learning media with a contextual approach is effective.

Blogging as a Tool for Real-Time Learning in Medical Microbiology.

Blogging is a widely used social medium for storing and sharing information online. Being an attractive online interface, some studies show that education blogging or edublogging might promote more engaged learning. An apathy to contemporary issues related to one’s area of study can result in a less knowledgeable student who is less ready for the job industry. To bridge the gap between classroom learning and awareness of emerging issues pertaining to the field of study and potential employment – blogging of ongoing events in a select microbiological field was proposed as a graded semester-long activity called “Disease Tracking.” The exercise involved instructing students to choose one infectious disease topic, for which traditional and non-traditional scientific information could be sourced with high frequency over the preceding months. Students were to document new information on the topic as it became available over the term, from reliable information resources. At the end of the term, students presented their work in a “Blog show-off” presentation session. Blog-based learning was found to be an engaging tool that satisfied all criteria under Bloom’s taxonomy. Students developed a continued intrigue for the chosen topic and appreciated the diverse fields in which fundamentals of infectious diseases learned in class, could be applied within and outside academia. Students also valued this experience and feedback showed that the freedom to choose their own topic (77%), opportunity to learn more from other students’ blogs (77%), less stress as they were not competing on identical topics (73%), a “fun way” to learn (68%), and an opportunity to understand the importance of staying abreast with scientific news (64%) stood out as the chief positive points of the exercise to the students. In view of these benefits, blogs can be used for an immersive, broad learning experience in Microbiology and other fields in which there is likely to be a frequency of new information online.

The Effects of Blog-Based Learning on Pre-service Science Teachers’ Internet Self-efficacy and Understanding of Atmosphere-Related Environmental Issues

The aim of the study was to investigate the effects of blog-based learning (BBL) on pre-service science teachers’ Internet self-efficacy and understanding of atmosphere-related environmental problems (AREPs). The working group of the study consisted of 89 pre-service science teachers. The participants were divided into groups, and each group was asked to perform the following activities in sequence: (1) accessing scientific documents (e.g. articles, books) and reading them individually, (2) coming together in groups to discuss the scientific knowledge extracted by each group member and preparing a presentation about the issue discussed, (3) sharing findings and engaging groups in a discussion of issues, and (4) developing a blog using the knowledge from the discussions within and between groups. In this study, single-group pretest-posttest experimental design was used. To collect data, the Internet Self-efficacy Scale (ISS), the Atmosphere-related Environmental Problems Diagnostic Test (AREPDiT), and the Opinion Questionnaire about Blogging (OQaB) were used. The results revealed that the subjects’ ISS and AREPDiT post-test mean scores were significantly higher than their pre-test mean scores and that their misconceptions about AREPs were substantially eliminated by the intervention. The subjects’ responses to the blog use were generally positive.

Desain Media Pembelajaran Fisika Berbasis Web Blog Pada Materi Translasi Dan Rotasi Kelas X SMK Bunda Auni Bekasi

The purpose of this study is to: (1) determine the design of web blog-based learning media in Physics lessons that can improve the understanding of class X students on the material of translation and rotation at SMK Bunda Auni Bekasi. (2) know the process of making physics learning media based on web blog. (3) knowing student responses after using physics learning media based on web blog. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative which is carried out at SMK Bunda Auni Bekasi. The data collection technique used a questionnaire distributed to 29 students of class X Vocational High School. The research data was used to determine the design process of learning media based on web blogs and the responses of class X students to the products that have been made. The results of this research show that the students' responses to the design of physics learning media based on web blogs are based on a questionnaire assessment of 29 students, namely with a percentage of 79.7% of the ideal score and classified as "Good" and can be used as an alternative learning media.

Pelatihan Pembuatan Blog Pembelajaran Bagi Guru Sekolah Dasar Punna Karya Kabupaten Tangerang

The aim of community service is to provide blogging skills that can be utilized by Punna Karya Tangerang elementary school teachers in learning. The service delivery method is a workshop held from November to December 2019. Evaluation of activities is carried out using non-test techniques using questionnaires and documentation. The questionnaire was used to compare teachers' understanding of creating learning blogs between before and after the training was carried out. While the documentation serves to see qualitatively a learning blog created by the teacher. The results of this community service are: (1) classically the competence of teachers in creating learning blogs increased by 85,80%; (2) qualitatively the learning blog produced by the teacher is good, but there are still shortcomings in terms of interface design, navigation, and its contents. Based on these results teachers should be able to improve their skills independently in designing blog-based learning media through online and print references.

SENSE OF COMMUNITY, PEER FEEDBACK AND COURSE ENGAGEMENT AS PREDICTORS OF LEARNING IN BLOG ENVIRONMENTS

Blogs have the potential to improve in-depth thinking, reflection, interaction and sense of community in higher education settings. Although the effectiveness of blogging on performance and thinking skills, student interaction and collaboration have been investigated by many educators, the number of studies on what influences learning in blog-based learning environments is limited. The aim of this study was to investigate the relationship between sense of community, perception of peer feedback, course engagement and learning in a blog-based learning environment. A relational study was adopted, and 170 university students participated in this study. The data of the study were collected through an online questionnaire that measures students’ sense of community, peer feedback, course engagement, and perceived learning. In order to analyze the data, correlation and multiple regression tests were applied, as well as mean and standard deviation. At the end of the study, it was found that students’ perceived learning, sense of community, peer feedback perceptions and course engagement were at a high level. In addition, the results of this study showed that in blog environments, students’ sense of community, peer feedback perception and course engagement were significant predictors of their learning. The study findings have implications for both teachers and students and can be used as a framework to help the successful use of educational blogs.

Blog-based mathematics learning devices

The development of science and technology today requires learning science and technology-based innovation. Educators must be able to innovate learning by utilizing the internet. Blog-based learning is important as an alternative learning. The purpose of this research is to produce a valid, practical and effective blog-based mathematics learning tools developed consist of RPP, Modules, and the Mathematics Learning Blog. This research is a research developed. The development model used is the ADDIE model (Analyse, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation). The subject of the research was grade X students. Based on the results of the development it was obtained that the result of blog-based mathematics learning that were developed met valid, practical, and effective criteria.

The Application of Vlog in Task-Based Language Learning

Computer and internet technology brought about innovative changes of students life especially their leisure time after class. In light of this, the purpose of this study is to explore learners’ participation of blog-based language learning in their independent learning in order to suggest a motivated and collaborative environment to communicate. The data for this study were collected through questionnaires and interviews and most importantly, the learners’ participation record of tutor blog from 30 second year students in Beijing Wuzi University in China. The questionnaire is designed to analysis learners’ computer literacy and their attitude towards vlog as an independent language learning too while they are doing the assigned tasks by teachers. The tutor blog experimental survey is to collect data which reflect learners’ participation status when they are told to do so after class. The overall findings of the survey show that the majority of respondents have a positive understanding about vlog-based language learning. Students are willing to finish their tasks and enjoys the sense of achievements. But some of them are less motivated in participating and publishing their ideas in the tutor vlog community, regardless of computer literacy levels. The followed interview shows that this is partly because they are lack of language awareness and communicative skills since they emerged so long in the traditional education system which takes teachers as the only source of knowledge.

Developing blog-based learning media for basic mechanical engineering subjects

This research aims to develop a blog as learning media, analyse the instrument of feasibility test for the blog, and examine the students’ and teachers’ responses to the developing learning media used in basic mechanical engineering subject conducted in vocational high schools of PIRI Sleman and PIRI 1 Yogyakarta. This research employed the research and development method. The data of this study were collected using questionnaires. The results of the study show that this study develops learning media in the form of a blog consisting of six necessary competences of Basic Mechanical Engineering and a website namely https://pdtmsmk.blogspot.com which can be accessed through a gadget anytime and anywhere. In addition, the researchers conduct the feasibility test is readily used and the media go through field tests, and from the tests, a very high score is obtained and that is the blog is feasible.

Blog-Based Learning Innovation with Powtoon Application in Facing Industrial Revolution 4.0

The purpose of this research is to look at the feasibility of powtoon learning media on subjects by using blocks as learning resources, view responses to media using blocks on subjects, and see students' understanding ability after being given learning through powtoon media using blogs. The target of this research is lecturers and students who carry out learning with powtoon assistance at Medan State University. The method used to obtain the required information is to use the Google form questionnaire that is given online to lecturers and students and wants to see the understanding of students in using powtoon media. The results obtained from this study are Powtoon-assisted blog media in the Mathematics Learning Evaluation course declared valid with 88.2% included in the "very feasible" category, student responses to the media received a percentage of 90% included in the "very interesting" category, and occurred an increase in students' understanding of the Mathematics Learning Evaluation teaching material can be seen from the gain index of an increase of 0.61 which is categorized as a high or significant increase

Examining the effect of interaction analysis on supporting students’ motivation and learning strategies in online blog-based secondary education programming courses

ABSTRACT Students’ skilful use of self-regulatory learning strategies is becoming fundamental to the advent of blog-based learning. Moreover, the use of Interaction Analysis (IA) in studying the learning dynamics in Computer-Supported Collaborative Learning (CSCL) activities is on the increase, particularly aiming to support participants by means of IA self-monitoring tools. Within this framework, the main objective of this study is to investigate the effect IA indicators have on students’ motivational orientations and learning strategies. Utilizing a pre-/post-test design to examine the main research questions, the authors of this paper collected data from 91 secondary education students, including the Motivation Strategies for Learning Questionnaire (MLSQ), administered before and after the completion of online programming activity. Overall research results indicate that the presence of IA indicators enhance students’ motivation and learning strategies with respect to several dimensions. These findings support our initial suggestion, namely that tracking blog-based interactions facilitates student’s awareness, activating their metacognitive processes, and allowing thus students to self-regulate their activity.

The effects of interaction types on learning outcomes in a blog-based interactive learning environment

ABSTRACT As the use of online learning has continued to expand, there has been a growing demand for advanced software or social sites that can enhance learning outcomes in online settings. It is important to explore how learner–learner, learner–teacher and learner–content interactions affect on learning outcomes while using the social sites such as Facebook, Twitter, WeChat, Blogs, etc. Although some prior research highlight that there is a demand for interaction in online courses, specific design tactics and empirical evaluation of the effects of interaction on learning outcomes in blog-based courses are lacking. Thus, a blog learning platform named “Learner’s Digest Blog” (LDB) was developed to facilitate the three types of interactions and enhance learning outcomes. A total of 26 learners participated in the blog-based interactive learning environment. The study addressed two research questions, and regression analysis was used to analyze the data. The findings indicated a significant influence between learner–learner interaction, learner–teacher interaction and learner–content interaction on subjective learning outcome. In contrast, there was no significant influence of learner–teacher interaction on objective learning outcomes, but learner–learner and learner–content did significantly affect objective learning outcomes. A significant relationship was also found between students’ subjective and objective learning outcomes.

THE IMPLEMENTATION OF BLOG BASED LEARNING IN INTERPRETING CLASS AT THE SIXTH SEMESTER STUDENTS OF ENGLISH EDUCATION DEPARTMENT

This research isconducted to gain insights into the implementation of BlogBased Learning, problems faced by the teacher, and solutionsto solve those problems. The researcher got the data fromscripton, event, information, and document. The techniques ofcollecting data are the observation, interview and documentationin teacher’s blogs to clarify the implementation of Blog BasedLearning. The finding showed that the implementation of Blog iswell executed although the uses of blogs are not fully carried outin interpreting class fully. The challenges faced by the teacherin implementing the blogs are mostly related to teacher’s lack ofmanagement to maximize Blog Based Learning and the difficultyin improving students’ awareness. There are several solutionsproposed by the teacher in the implementation of Blog BasedLearning are building a good management and communicatingthe importance of active participations in interpreting classthrough blogs. Some students have low awareness in accessingblogs for additional source for their learning. Both teacher andstudents required to collaborate each other in making goodmedia for teaching and learning process.

BLOG-GOTHIC AS AN INTERACTIVE LEARNING MEDIA IN ANALYTICAL GEOMETRY COURSE

This study aims to determine (1) how the application of Blog-Gothic as an interactive learning media in Analytical Geometry course (2) the response of students to the use of Blog-Gothic as an interactive learning media in the course of Analytical Geometry. This blog utilization is expected to produce a significant influence, which is in addition to aiming to improve student learning outcomes, it is also expected to help students wisely utilize the internet to find material lectures, discuss difficulties in certain subjects and increase creativity in writing. In addition, lecturers are also easier to monitor the progress of their students through their Blogs or by visiting student Blogs. It is also expected to be able to overcome the diversity of the ability to ask and argue and also can be a solution to the lack of face-to-face hours of lectures. This research is a quantitative research with the use of quasi-experimental or quasi-experimental. Subjects are given an initial test and then given Blog-based learning and then given a final test to find out the improvement in learning outcomes. Observations, questionnaires and interviews were conducted to obtain student response data on Blog-Gothic usage.

Networked learning with professionals boosts students' self-efficacy for social networking and professional development

Previous research has recognized that networked learning—including the use of social media, blogs, and learning communities—offers unique affordances for supporting the development of self-efficacy. However, additional research is needed to examine applications of networked learning that integrate professional contexts into academic learning experiences. The present study reports on an intervention in which networked learning was used to promote student self-efficacy for social networking and professional development. The learning design integrates three techniques: a focus on developing personal learning networks, a blog-based learning community, and mastery experiences for networking with professionals. The hypothesis was that networked learning among peers in the learning community would help support the gradual development of skills and confidence for social networking, while networking to learn with professionals would amplify the impact of mastery experiences on student self-efficacy. A study of 72 undergraduate business students found that the intervention led to significant gains in self-efficacy for social networking and professional development activities. Students also reported a greater likelihood of engaging in these activities in the following year. Finally, students perceived the learning experience as relevant for their lifelong learning and professional success.
