More and more students today experience posture abnormalities caused by prolonged stay in the working position of a personal computer (PC) user. The use of visual screening makes it possible to quickly respond to the violation of ergonomically-optimal posture of a PC user and apply appropriate health saving technologies. It has been found that today assessment of the status of students’ posture takes place on the basis of visual screening. It has been established that the operational control for the posture of higher education institution students (HEI) is carried out by means of an improved card of the express control of the biogeometric profile. Objective. To develop a method for quantitative assessment of the student’s working posture in the process of learning by using information computer technologies. Methods. Study and analysis of scientific sources, method of expert assessments. Results. The group of experts included 12 leading experts in this field. The indices that are useful for assessing the working posture of the PC user were determined. It turned out that the most informative indices of the status of the working posture of the student-user of the PC are the position of the head, shoulders, back, arms, legs and feet of the student. The card of the express assessment of the state and the method of visual screening biogeometric profile of student’s working posture has been developed, which includes assessment of the established indices, calculation of the sum of the obtained points, comparison of the results with the scale of the integrated assessment of the level of the state of the biogeometric profile of the working posture.
