How does Low-Carbon Education Developed in Indonesia? Bibliometric Analysis

The increasing urgency of climate change necessitates a transformative approach to education that integrates sustainability into curricula. Low-Carbon Education (LCE) emerges as a vital framework aimed at fostering awareness and actions that contribute to reducing carbon emissions. This paper aims to explore the trend of low-carbon education in the world particularly in Indonesia, explore its current implementation possibilities, and identify strategies to improve its effectiveness in promoting a sustainable future. This research used bibliometric analysis which is systematic study employing statistical methods to examine bibliographic data. The first step is defining the research objective which consist of trend of low-carbon education in the world particularly in Indonesia, those research objective needs the data of author, citation, country in the publication pertaining low carbon education. Then search the article as data collection from Scopus. In the website Scopus, we search in search document. It found 568 documents. After that, data cleaning and preprocessing by selecting the criteria to meet more results accuracy for low carbon education by selected limit to all open access, by document type: article and conference paper, and range year only 10 years, from 2014-2024. Then the amount of article pertaining low carbon meet 246 documents. This will be proceeded in data analysis process by using a tool, VOSviwer. From that tool, it revealed the results with visualization presentation. The result described that the development of low carbon education research are increase by year and its research still a few in Indonesia, so the researcher has possibility to be researched.

THE NEOCONSERVATIVE/NEOLIBERAL INTERSECTION IN BRAZILIAN EDUCATION AND ITS INTERFACES FOR THE INCREASE OF LGBTQIA+PHOBIA

This article analyzes the intersection between neoconservatism, neoliberalism, and the oppression of sexual and gender diversity in contemporary society. In a scenario marked by growing conservatism that seeks to restore a traditional social "order," LGBTQIA+ identities face marginalization and violence due to the glorification of an idealized past and the imposition of normative standards. The influence of religious groups and neoconservative movements has restricted discussions about diversity in schools, which should promote a critical and inclusive environment. The research, based on bibliographic data and developed as part of a master's dissertation, investigates how these ideologies impact education and perpetuate the exclusion of sexual diversity issues. The naturalization of exclusionary norms and the perpetuation of the coloniality of knowledge reinforce a hegemonic vision, silencing dissenting voices. The conclusion is that, in order to build a more just society, active engagement in combating LGBTQIA+phobia, racism, and sexism is crucial, respecting the right to freedom and expression of all individuals. Overcoming conservatism and neoliberalism, through critical and politically engaged education, is a vital step towards tackling LGBTQIA+phobia in Brazilian schools, promoting a space where all identities can coexist and be respected.

How research contributions of professor Jiju Antony have influenced the field of quality management: an appraisal and critique

PurposeThe purpose of this study is to apply bibliometric techniques to critically examine the contributions of Professor (Dr) Jiju Antony in the domain of quality management research over a period close to 30 years (i.e. 1995 to 2023).Design/methodology/approachThe study incorporates a bibliometric analysis approach using VoSviewer software package to critically examine the contributions and trends in publications on Scopus indexed publications of Antony, followed by an industry wide evaluation of contributions made. Thematic analysis of the bibliographic data was imported in comma-separated values (CSV) format by selecting Antony (last name) and Jiju (first name) in the author search tab in Scopus. The search was made on September 09, 2023 and bibliographic records of 429 documents were considered for the analysis. The analysis was carried out in terms of most frequent keywords used, sources with most frequent publications, thematic analysis of most cited works and global collaborations.FindingsAntony has focused his research interest largely in the domain of quality management, publishing his research in top rated journals in the domain with a broad network of international collaborators. Antony has received 18,802 and 40,947 citations in Scopus and Google Scholar, respectively. This signifies the impact that Antony has created through his research publications. His major contributions are on the topics of six sigma, lean six sigma, continuous improvement, critical success factors and quality management practice implementations in various organizations. Diverse methodologies both qualitative and quantitative were utilized to conduct his research. However, his body of work is not without criticism. Such criticism includes the limited scope of work, with narrow focus on ISO 9001 and QMS standards, Total Quality Management (TQM). Critique also highlights the necessity for more depth, following insufficient exploration of distinctions between TQM and operational excellence (OPEX) methodologies like lean, six sigma, kaizen and agile. Antony’s work has yet to consider a diverse range of industry sectors, in terms of implementation of quality management principles, geographical location, the impact of national culture on corporate performance and explore data quality influence on decision-making. Notably, there is clear opportunity to consider the service sector in future research.Originality/valueTo best of the authors’ knowledge, there are few previous studies conducted using bibliometric analysis for analyzing the work of an individual. Therefore, the present study aims to set a trend whereby bibliometric analysis can be used to recognize and critically asses the contributions of other researchers in their respective domains.

Incidence of hospital – acquired in pneumonia in intensive care patients

Introduction: hospital-acquired pneumonia (HAP) is a serious infection that appears after 48 hours of hospital admission, with high morbidity and mortality in intensive care units (ICU). Data collection was performed through clinical records. Objective: to characterize the behavior of hospital-acquired pneumonia in intensive care patients.Method: an analytical, observational, retrospective study was conducted; the study variable is longitudinal. Data collection was performed through clinical records. Results: 14 patients with relevant data were included, as well as PubMed bibliography from the last 5 years. The findings highlight the need for rapid diagnostic methods and new antibiotics due to microbial resistance. The aim is to understand the risk factors and optimize the management of HAP in critically ill patients. Conclusion: the combination of bibliographic data and patient analysis highlights the complexity of HAP and underlines critical areas for future research. The development of rapid diagnostic methods, new antibiotics, and a better understanding of comorbidities could significantly improve management and outcomes for patients. With the integration of new technologies and personalized approaches, it is possible to optimize the prevention and treatment of this serious condition

This research was aimed to demonstrating to the pediatric practitioners of a wide range the clinical case of retrospective diagnosis of Kawasaki disease (KD) based on detection of coronary artery (CA) aneurysms and anamnestic data analysis. Mucocutaneous lymphonodular syndrome (KD) is a systemic vasculitis of childhood that was characterized in the observed clinical case by fever, inflammatory changes in the mucous membranes, skin, lymph nodes and CA damage. Features of this clinical case were as follows: 1. the diagnosis was established retrospectively 5 years later than the KD was suffered based on accidental detection of CA aneurysms, 2. the lack of adequate KD treatment had led to the formation of CA aneurysms, including a single one of a giant size, 3. despite the long-term absence of generally accepted thrombosis prophylaxis in a patient with a giant CA aneurysm, only 11 years later did a thrombus in the aneurysm formed for the first time, which had then regressed rapidly despite it is known from the bibliographical data and those of the Authors’ own that the risk for thrombosis is very high in patients with giant aneurysms. Conclusion: late KD diagnosis entails the development of the cardiovascular system complications, in particular, coronary aneurysms, which in its turn in the reported clinical case were an accidental finding during the patient’s checkup.

From Analogue to Algorithm: The Metamorphosis of Music Production Techniques—An Integrated Literature Review

This research explores the transformation of music production (MP) from traditional to smart digital approaches. The background of the study is rooted in the rapid digital advancements in MP over the last few decades, leading to a more robust and compact MP progression. The research focuses on understanding the music industry’s process and the impact of technology on MP, particularly artificial intelligence (AI). The research methodology employed is an Integrative Literature Review, based on both Scopus and Web of Science databases. After thoroughly examining titles and abstracts, 745 documents were identified as bibliographic data. From these, 40 selected articles were synthesised and analysed to identify patterns, influential authors, prominent journals and countries, dominant intellectual themes in MP, literature clustering and research gaps. The study classifies MP into four clusters: humanistic, technological, social and cultural and industrial perspectives. Each lens offers a unique vantage point to understand the intricate tapestry of the musical landscape. The findings reveal that AI has revolutionised MP, contributing to the creation of novel sounds, genres and music arrangements. It has also facilitated cross-cultural collaborations and reshaped the music business model. These findings imply that the intersection of technology and the music industry has transformed music creation, consumption and monetisation, presenting both challenges and opportunities for stakeholders. The study concludes that the future of MP is a captivating fusion of human creativity and technological prowess, where tradition and innovation coalesce to propel musical revolution to new heights.

Unearthing the misconduct and inaccuracies in social science research: a trend analysis of retracted articles based on retraction watch database

Purpose The purpose of this study is to comprehensively analyze the research article retractions in social sciences over the past decade (2014–2023). Design/methodology/approach The study used scientometric methods to evaluate the prevalence, patterns and factors contributing to social sciences article retractions. Bibliographic data of retracted articles were collected from the Retraction Watch Database under an agreement signed with the database. Further, citations of the retracted articles were collected from Scopus and Google Scholar. The analysis encompasses performance assessment and citation-based analysis to reveal the trend of retraction and scrutinize the impact of retracted articles. Findings Over the past decade, article retractions have shown dynamic trends, with notable fluctuations in recent years. Further, investigating the time taken for article retraction reveals the urgency of addressing issues identified soon after publication. Scientific misconduct and publication-related concerns emerge as primary factors leading to retractions. Countries such as Russia, the USA, China and publishers such as Elsevier and Taylor and Francis led in the retractions of social science articles. A significant portion of retracted works had garnered academic attention prior to retraction and even after retraction. Originality/value This study can contribute to a better understanding among scholars and stakeholders of the trends and reasons for retractions of research articles in the social sciences.

The Use of Participatory Modelling Methods in Agri-Environmental Research – A Systematic Mapping Dataset

Participatory modelling (PM) is a transdisciplinary research approach that involves stakeholder in a modelling process to develop or improve qualitative or quantitative models. To better understand the potential uses of PM in the emerging field of agroecology living lab research, I conducted a systematic search of the peer-reviewed literature and describe 78 participatory agri-environmental case studies in this dataset. Bibliographic data are included and each case study is described in terms of main goal(s), PM method(s) used, involved stakeholders and their contributions and the level of stakeholder participation in the project. I also extracted key metadata (if available), such as publication type and year, study location (country), funding source, project duration and outcomes beyond publications. This dataset adds value by revealing clusters and associations of methods and goals, by showing the dominating role of researchers in this type of participatory research, by pointing out the absence of PM in certain areas of agricultural production, such as hydroponic farming or viticulture and by providing a comprehensive foundation for the related research article. It also contained data not used in the related research article that could provide a basis for future research, such as linking methods, goals and stakeholder involvement with other metadata or comparing this agri-environmental research and other areas.

The study under discussion will address the importance of physical activity aimed at the elderly,its effects and benefits, with a focus on quality of life. Thus, the elderly who practice physicalactivity become more resistant to illnesses and emotional stress, hence depression, having amore active, healthy and independent life. Thus, what is the importance of practicing physicalactivities in elderly groups? Quality of life is a personal choice. For some seniors, the practiceof physical activity combined with a better quality of life is a pleasurable activity, while othersdo not think this way. The present study is of fundamental importance to prove that physicalactivity is related to improving the quality of life of the elderly, which contributes to theimprovement of the functional capacity and active work of the oldest old and even to preventthe installation, progression or correction of possible dysfunctions that end up incapacitating it.The present study has as general objective to research the relationship between physical activityand maintenance of the elderly's functional autonomy, providing quality of life. The specificobjectives are to investigate the contribution of physical activity as an interfering factor in thehealthy aging process, show the contribution of physical activity for the elderly in theprevention and cure of diseases that compromise the autonomy of the elderly and analyze howphysical activity contributes to maintain quality of life and even increase the level of autonomyof the elderly. Thus, this work is a descriptive research, as its purpose is to register, describe,observe and compare the various phenomena in the context of old age. The research was tocollect bibliographic data.

Bibliometric Analysis on Gender and Spirituality in Literary Studies

Publications on gender and spirituality have been prominently featured in many journals indexed by various databases. This article employs bibliometric analysis to investigate publication trends on gender and spiritual issues in literary studies within the Scopus database. This research utilized the VOSviewer application to analyze keyword co-authorship, co-occurrence, and citations. The bibliographic data for this study were downloaded from the Scopus database on January 8, 2024, with a search restriction over the last ten years between 2014 and 2023, and under two fields: 1) social sciences and 2) arts and humanities. The results show that of the 34 eligible publications, there are four main highlights. First, the co-authorship of research publications is relatively low and is only undertaken by a few researchers. Second, the co-occurrence of keywords reveals three main research trends over these ten years: gender-based experiences and practices, gender-based concepts, and religion and spirituality. However, keywords related to literary criticism did not appear. Third, the number of citations for documents is uneven and is dominated only by certain authors, affiliations, and countries. Lastly, network visualization reveals limited interconnectivity between topics, such as gender spirituality and literature. These results conclude that interdisciplinary research in the field of literary criticism remains widely open to address existing research gaps and encourage researchers to collaborate on related topics.

Spatial analysis of disaster resilience research: A bibliometric study

We analyzed the global disaster resilience research literature to advance understanding of its geographical context. A key objective was to map the variation in disaster research resilience activity to identify hotspots and areas of less activity. The motivation is to reveal regional imbalances in resilience research and collaboration to contribute to the global narrative regarding marginalized regions. The methodology involves an in-depth examination of Web of Science (WoS) bibliographic data from 2010 to 2020, using keywords to develop a comprehensive perspective of disaster resilience research. Additionally, the study incorporates empirical data from the Emergency Events Data (EM-DAT) maintained by the Centre for Research on the Epidemiology of Hazards at the Université Catholique de Louvain (CRED/UCLouvain) to provide context on the impact of disasters. A key innovation of this study is the Disaster Resilience Research Score (DRRS), a quantifiable metric to evaluate the state of disaster resilience research globally by country. The DRRS considers publications, citations, and institutional involvement to provide a well-rounded view of each country's contributions to the field. The results highlight the leading role in disaster resilience research of countries including the United States, Australia, the United Kingdom, Germany, and Italy. However, there is a notable lack of research activity in countries such as Ecuador, Algeria, Kenya, Cambodia, and Myanmar, which also exhibit relatively high vulnerability to environmental hazards. Our findings indicate that countries identified as resilience hotspots predominantly collaborate within their country. This study highlights opportunities for strengthening collaborations between resilience research hotspots and locations less represented in the resilience research literature. It underscores the importance of identifying hot and cold spots to direct future research and foster a more equitable and sustainable response to climate change and hazards.

Navigating Tomorrow's Tide: Exploring the Future of Ocean Resources and Their Impact on Food and Feed Safety

Abstract In a context of global changes, a foresight study is helpful to look into the future, anticipate possible scenarios and take appropriate decisions to face emerging risks for food and feed safety. Considering that an increased use of the ocean is expected for the next decades, it is essential to explore its possible impact on the safety of food and feed from the oceans. A scoping study was carried out to analyse drivers of change that may impact/promote the future uses of the ocean and its resources. From bibliographic search, different ocean uses were identified: coastal and open‐sea mining, marine aquaculture, sea transport and trade, energy production and related infrastructures, fisheries, ocean crops, saline farming, desalination, extraction of bioresources, marine protected areas and conservation of the ocean. Through the information gathered in the scoping study and the input of several experts, three key ocean uses were prioritised to proceed to a participatory foresight exercise: (i) coastal and open‐sea mining; (ii) marine aquaculture; and (iii) sea transport and trade. The foresight exercise produced three possible scenarios for 2050 for each prioritised use of the ocean. On the basis of these scenarios, possible implications and potential emerging issues for the safety of food and feed from the oceans were identified and characterised through bibliographic data. This document also provides a description of the methodology followed in the scoping study and in the foresight exercise, and recommendations that could help EFSA to prepare to the challenges posed by the future exploitation of ocean resources.

Could bibliometrics reveal top science and technology achievements and researchers? The case for evaluatology-based science and technology evaluation

By utilizing statistical methods to analyze bibliographic data, bibliometrics faces inherent limitations in identifying the most significant science and technology achievements and researchers. To overcome this challenge, we present an evaluatology-based science and technology evaluation methodology. At the heart of this approach lies the concept of an extended evaluation condition, encompassing nine crucial components derived from a field. We define four relationships that illustrate the connections among various achievements based on their mapped extended EC components, as well as their temporal and citation links. Within a relationship under an extended evaluation condition, evaluators can effectively compare these achievements by carefully addressing the influence of confounding variables. We establish a real-world evaluation system encompassing an entire collection of achievements, each of which is mapped to several components of an extended EC. Within a specific field like chip technology or open source, we construct a perfect evaluation model that can accurately trace the evolution and development of all achievements in terms of four relationships based on the real-world evaluation system. Building upon the foundation of the perfect evaluation model, we put forth four-round rules to eliminate non-significant achievements by utilizing four relationships. This process allows us to establish a pragmatic evaluation model that effectively captures the essential achievements, serving as a curated collection of the top N achievements within a specific field during a specific timeframe. We present a case study on the top 100 Chip achievements to demonstrate the effectiveness of our science and technology evaluatology. The case study highlights its practical application and efficacy in identifying significant achievements and researchers that otherwise can not be identified by using bibliometrics.

A Holistic Perspective on the AI-Education Nexus: A Science Mapping Study

This study examines how the relationship between artificial intelligence (AI) and education in scientific literature is evolving around common key concepts. For this purpose, the science mapping method was employed. Data were obtained from the Web of Science Core Collection. The search terms included “artificial intelligence,” “education,” “instruction,” and “teaching,” as well as "OpenAI," "ChatGPT," and "Chatbot." Bibliographic data from 14,682 scientific documents were extracted, forming the dataset for this study. Analyses were conducted using the VOSviewer software tool, and co-occurrence analyses were performed on the data. These analyses produced both co-occurrence maps and detailed outputs. With the contribution of these outputs, the general and emerging concepts in the map were identified. The results indicate that the AI-education relationship is predominantly discussed in the context of instructional methods rather than as a technology or tool. In recent years, this discourse has particularly enriched and deepened in related fields, learning environments/contexts, issues/skills related to teaching and learning, and research. This richness supports the AI-education relationship from pedagogical integration, applicability, and ethics perspectives. Additionally, it strengthens the theoretical foundations of this relationship by linking it to educational technology and incorporating socio-psychological elements. However, there remains potential for further development in areas such as impact dynamics and human-AI collaboration

Insights into frankincense and myrrh research: A comprehensive analytical study of patterns and perspectives

ObjectiveFrankincense (Boswellia) and Myrrh (Commiphora) are natural substances that have a long history of traditional use and potential therapeutic applications. This study aimed to provide comprehensive insights into the literature on Frankincense and Myrrh research (FMR) by examining patterns, perspectives, and research trends within the research landscape. MethodsThis bibliometric study utilized MeSH-generated terms, followed the PRISMA guidelines, and analyzed English-based bibliographic data from original studies retrieved from the Scopus database. The VOSviewer and Bibliometrix applications were employed to analyze the CVS and BibTex data consisting of 955 records. This study focuses on publication trends, research topics, citation counts, research impacts, and collaboration dynamics. ResultsThe analysis revealed a steady increase in FMR, indicating growing interest in these substances. Egypt, the United States, and Saudi Arabia are the most prolific countries in terms of research output. FMR primarily focuses on chemical composition, pharmacological properties, and medicinal applications. Key research topics include identification and analysis of bioactive compounds, optimization of extraction techniques, and evaluation of their therapeutic potential. Surprisingly, the thematic map was overwhelmed by the niche, motor, basic, and emerging themes. Trending topics in FMR include “Myrrh oil”, “sesquiterpene”, “tapping”, “triterpenoids”, and “allergic contact dermatitis”. Collaboration networks highlight the involvement of diverse stakeholders, indicating the importance of multidisciplinary and international collaboration in advancing the field. ConclusionsThese insights contribute to a better understanding of the research landscape of FMR, guiding future studies and facilitating the utilization of these natural substances for the benefit of society.

Lead–lag effect of research between conference papers and journal papers in data mining

AbstractThe examination of the lead–lag effect between different publication types, incorporating a temporal dimension, is very significant for assessing research. In this article, we introduce a novel framework to quantify the lead–lag effect between the research topics of conference papers and journal papers. We first identify research topics via the text‐embedding‐based topic modeling technique BERTopic, then extract the research topics of each time slice, construct and visualize the similarity matrix of topics to reveal the time‐lag direction and finally quantify the lead–lag effect by four proposed indicators, as well as by average influence topic similarity comparison maps. We conduct a detailed analysis of 19,166 bibliographic data for top conference papers and journal papers from 2015 to 2019 in the data mining field, calculate the similarity of topics obtained by BERTopic between each time slice divided by quarters. The results show that journal paper topics lag behind conference paper topics in the data mining field. The most significant lead–lag effect is 2.5 years, with approximately 33.45% of topics affected by this lag. The methodology presented here holds potential for broader application in the analysis of lead–lag effects across diverse research areas, offering valuable insights into the state of research development and informing policy decisions.This article is categorized under: Application Areas > Science and Technology

Kulturowe aspekty dark web

The article contains a review of research on the cultural aspects of the Dark Web. A semi-systematic literature review was used for this purpose, as such an approach enables the reviewing of a multi- or interdisciplinary research area. Scopus, an international and multidisciplinary database indexing academic publications, was the source of bibliographic data. It turned out that there is a relatively short history of research on the cultural aspects of the Dark Web. The first publications on the topic only appeared in the Scopus database in 2005, and it continues to be a niche area of research, with the annual number of indexed publications around a few dozen. The author distinguished the following groups of issues that researchers deal with: (1) motivations among Dark Web users for making use of this part of the internet; (2) the impact of the Dark Web’s existence and the anonymity it provides on human behaviour; (3) the specificity of trading activity on “dark markets”; (4) steps taken by illegal traders to gain a reputation and customer trust; (5) communication practices on discussion forums; (6) the freedom to disseminate information; and (7) the methodology for studying communities on “dark networks”.

Domestic and Productive Earthen Architecture Conserved In Situ in Archaeological Sites of the Iberian Peninsula

For past societies on the Iberian Peninsula, one of the most prolific architectures was earthen construction, with a wealth of typologies and solutions derived from the legacy of local construction and materials. However, its study within the field of archaeology has been limited. The challenges posed by conservation, archaeological identification and social recognition have traditionally limited the dissemination of this type of architecture. Its low profile is perceived as fragile once the original protections collapse. The ethnological information preserved and linked to past ways of life and societies is crucial to the interpretation of the cultural development handed down over generations by different communities and now transmitted to the general public through archaeological sites. This research aims to provide an overview of the main earthen vestiges from domestic, productive and funerary architecture dating from the prehistoric, protohistoric, Roman and medieval periods. For this, a bibliographical review and data collection through fieldwork were conducted for numerous case studies. These included the classification of materials, compositions and construction techniques, creating an integrated comprehensive database with information on geography, measurements and the general state of conservation.

Error Analysis in ChatGPT’s MARC21 Records: A Study of RDA Conformity

This study aims to evaluate the accuracy and quality of MARC21 catalogue records generated by ChatGPT using bibliographic data from title pages. The study will shed light on the effectiveness and reliability of automated cataloguing processes utilising AI technology. This involves examining factors such as correctness, consistency, and adherence to Resource Description and Access (RDA) standards. The analysis highlights variations in error rates across different records. Identifying the underlying causes of errors in records with higher rates can help in implementing targeted improvements to enhance the data quality and consistency of ChatGPT-generated catalogue records.
