Purpose: assessment of the technical condition of the pumping station NS-8 and part of canals of the Sarpinskaya irrigation and watering system located in the settlement of Bolshoy Tsaryn, Oktyabrsky district of the Republic of Kalmykia, which are aimed at the needs of irrigation and water supply. Materials and methods: during field surveys, the measuring equipment in the form of an electronic rangefinder was used to identify the width and length of canals and structures on them, as well as a measuring tape to fix various damages in the form of cracks, shears and destroyed expansion joints. Results. In the course of instrumental and visual field surveys at the Sarpinskaya irrigation and water drainage system and facilities in Oktyabrsky district of the Republic of Kalmykia, it was revealed that at the time of the field surveys, work was already underway to clear the canal, bottom and slopes of irrigation canals, as well as blocking structures from reed and woody vegetation. Repairs were carried out in the form of temporary bulk dams in places of canal bed scour. Conclusions. Field inspections of the NS-8 pumping station which revealed a number of problems directly related to the smooth operation of the entire structure as a whole, namely: peeling and corrosion of the concrete surface, cracks and shears of various shapes, destruction of expansion joints and the intake basin joints were carried out. Surveys of the R-1 and VR-3 irrigation canals, as well as blocking structures were carried out, which showed that to increase the efficiency of the canals the impervious devices to reduce losses, to eliminate waterlogging and secondary salinization, to reduce the wood and reed vegetation overgrowth, as well as increasing capacity are needed.
