Analisis Batik Rumah Komar Bandung Pada Kegiatan Modul Nusantara Program Pertukaran Mahasiswa Merdeka Batch 4

Since a long time ago, batik has been known and developed in the scope of Indonesian society. Until now batik has been known in the international world which has become an identity of Indonesian national culture. There are many batik motifs from all over Indonesia ranging from western Indonesia to eastern Indonesia. The types of batik produced are divided into 3, namely batik cap, batik tulis, and batik print which are distinguished based on the technique of making batik. Komar Batik is one of the batik cultures in Indonesia. Komar Batik presents the identity of the city of Bandung in a series of contemporary and modern designs. The method used in this study is a qualitative research method with a descriptive qualitative approach. The results showed that there are 2 batik techniques used in komar batik, namely: written batik techniques and stamp batik techniques. PENILAIAN RISIKO DAN STRATEGI MITIGASI PADA RANTAI PASOK INDUSTRI BATIK TULIS ORGANIK : Studi Kasus

The organic batik tulis (hand-written batik) product is a new challenge in the batik industry since it uses natural dyes, which aligns with their mission not to damage the environment. It is vital to assess risks and mitigation strategies in the supply chain so that companies are aware and can anticipate the impact of these risks. This research aimed to identify and evaluate activities that could cause risks along the supply chain route of the organic batik tulis industry, determine risk priorities, and formulate mitigation strategies using the Failure Mode Effect Analysis (FMEA). The research results would show risky supply chain activities involving the government, suppliers, companies, and distributors. Furthermore, activities with the highest risk would be determined, as well as developing a mitigation strategy prioritizing raw materials, technological modifications, resources, and infrastructure. The research results show 20 risk activities in the organic batik tulis supply chain, comprising six risks from suppliers, seven from processes, and seven from distributors. The highest risk was in the (1) process, which was the risk of the impact of natural dye waste on the water environment, and in the (2) distributors, which was the risk of damaged packaging. The mitigation strategy will focus on technology, human resources, and infrastructure.

Cultivating Cultural Awareness in Early Childhood: The Role of Batik Tulis in Preserving Local Heritage

This study explores the efficacy of batik tulis (written) for introducing and preserving local cultural heritage in early childhood education. Conducted at TK Batik PPBI Yogyakarta, this qualitative research utilized observations, interviews, and documentation to assess how batik-making activities influence cultural awareness among preschoolers. Results reveal that the batik introduction process familiarizes children with this local art form and instills a profound appreciation for cultural traditions. The educational methodology was designed to be age-appropriate and interactive, integrating safety measures and encouraging active participation throughout all stages of learning—from understanding the cultural significance of batik to hands-on crafting. The findings highlight the pivotal role of integrating cultural elements into early education to cultivate a long-lasting appreciation and knowledge of local heritage. This approach not only aids in cultural preservation but also enriches the educational experience, fostering a generation that values and understands its cultural roots. However, the study's limited scope, focused on a single educational setting, suggests the need for further research. Future studies should aim to replicate and validate these findings across various educational contexts to understand better the effectiveness and scalability of integrating cultural education in early childhood settings. These insights advocate for educational reforms recognizing and utilizing local cultural heritage as a fundamental component of comprehensive educational strategies, potentially influencing broader pedagogical practices.

Jinshin no hana as a communication strategy in batik tulis community development

Communication is of utmost importance in community development. Frequently, local community members find themselves marginalised from the communication processes integral to the advancement of their respective regions. As a result, they may fail to derive advantages from developmental initiatives and could fall prey to these transformations' repercussions. Employing the Jinshin no Hana approach as a communication strategy, the batik community in Pengilon Village is cultivated with a predominant emphasis on the local populace as the primary agents of change. Researchers serve as supporting components and facilitators for positive change. This approach is implemented through the utilisation of analytic area mapping and stakeholder analysis. Area mapping begins with assessing existing potentials by touring the village alongside local stakeholders to collect valuable initial data to be discussed with the stakeholders to formulate development ideas, followed by prioritisation using the pairwise method to be employed in the implementation phase. The implementation of Jinshin no Hana in Pengilon Village provides opportunities for the local community to actively engage in conveying ideas and the community's vision to the target audience. This serves as the groundwork for establishing a sustainable visual communication design process for Pengilon Village. This research can serve as a reference for future studies, emphasising the importance of not side-lining the local community as the primary figures in village development and the necessity to avoid assuming the role of instructors for them.

Pengaplikasian Prosedur Perhitungan untuk Menentukan Produksi Batik Tulis Madura Menggunakan Metode Fuzzy Database Model Tahani

One of the subdivisions of fuzzy logic is the study of the fuzzy database with Tahani model which is described as a model used to process data searches based on operations in fuzzy set theory to obtain appropriate information so that the data search process becomes accurate. The research aims to implement the Fuzzy Database with Tahani Model in determining the appropriate variant of batik tulis with the specified criteria. The initial step of the research is fuzzification, namely determining the domain of each complete variables with intervals of numerical variables and linguistic variables. In this research some variables were used: the price of the cloth, the number of colors and the work durations. Each variable is divided based on the interval between the lowest data and the highest data so that the variable price of the cloth is divided into 4, the number of colors is 3, and the work durations is 5. Then determine the membership function, the variable price of cloth, the number of colors, and the work duration using a linear model and triangle in determining the degree of its membership. Data tabulation from strict sets to fuzzy sets with numerical variables and linguistic variables. In preparing the criteria, 60 rule bases are based on the theory of consumer needs for batik tulis. Not all rule bases occur, because the data collects only a few criteria. Determining the value of fire strength, using the AND rule means selecting the minimum degree of membership from the available. The recommendation results determine to sort the washing machine data that has the highest fire strength value to the smallest fire strength value from each criterion.

STEAM Study on Local Wisdom of Batik Tulis Yogyakarta to Develop Science Teaching Materials

Batik tulis is one of Indonesia's cultural heritage which is rich in meaning and philosophical value. Batik tulis crafts are scattered in various parts of the region with their respective characteristics. One of the regions producing batik art is Yogyakarta. The process of making batik is often taught in arts and culture subjects in the context of preserving Indonesian culture, even though the process of making batik can also be integrated into science learning. There are many components in the process of making batik tulis related to natural science material. This research aims to determine aspects of STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics) in the process of making batik for the development of junior high school science teaching materials. This research method uses qualitative research with descriptive analysis of the Miles and Huberman model. The sampling technique in this study was purposive sampling which was collected through observation, in-depth interviews, documentation, and literature review. The results of this study indicate that the local wisdom of batik tulis Yogyakarta contains STEAM aspects in the manufacturing process and can be used as science learning material in junior high schools.

Handmade batik with tuberose motifs as creative home industry idea

Batik tulis is a rich cultural heritage of Indonesia, encompassing traditional values and artistic expressions. However, in some regions, there has been a decline in interest and skills in batik tulis making, along with the threat of plagiarism of local batik motifs. Therefore, efforts are needed to develop creative innovations in batik tulis production and ensure the sustainability of local batik traditions. Desa Doplang faces challenges in enhancing the skills of its residents in creating batik tulis with the motif of Polyanthes Tuberosa L., preserving the authenticity and originality of batik motifs, and improving economic well-being through increased production and sales of batik tulis. The Community Engagement Program (PKM) is designed to address these challenges through intensive mentoring, quality control, and efforts to prevent plagiarism. Through technical and creative training, the residents of Desa Doplang have acquired the skills required to produce batik tulis with the motif of Polyanthes Tuberosa L. Mentoring is provided at every stage of production, including the application of wax, dyeing, and the final boiling process. Feedback and constructive advice are given to improve the quality and authenticity of the batik tulis produced. Quality control measures are implemented to ensure that each batik tulis product meets the established quality standards. Additionally, through socialization and education, awareness regarding the importance of authenticity and originality of batik motifs is heightened. The program utilizes a community development, empowerment, and engagement approach. As a result, the program has successfully enhanced the skills of the residents of Desa Doplang in batik tulis production, increased cultural appreciation, and improved economic well-being through enhanced production and sales of batik tulis. The quality of the batik tulis produced has shown continuous improvement alongside the enhancement of skills. Moreover, the program has successfully preserved the local tradition of batik making and strengthened the position of batik tulis with the motif of Polyanthes Tuberosa L. as the flagship product of Desa Doplang. Another positive impact is the increase in the residents' income through the sale of batik tulis at better prices.

Pengembangan Desa Wisata Batik Girilayu di Desa Girilayu Berbasis Local Wisdom Menuju Global Market

Since 2020, the Karanganyar Regency Government has proclaimed Girilayu Village as a tourist village and the Giriarum Batik MSMEs have produced batik tulis products that are the pride of the community. The existing problems are related: tourism village branding and Girilayu-style batik products have not been identified; the tourism village management program and its unique products already exist, but have not been carried out massively and integrated; Batik Giriarum MSMEs batik tulis products already have a clear market segmentation, but digital marketing and information technology have not been fully utilized. BUMDes, Pokdarwis, Girilayu Village Government, and MSMEs Batik Giriarum are aware of the existing problems and their solutions but have not been able to implement the program properly. This community service aims to: 1) Increase understanding of branding, information technology, and digital marketing; 2) Improve skills and knowledge about the management of tourist villages and their unique products; and 3) Improve local potential management capacity. The method used to achieve the goal are participatory-based community service activities involving all stakeholders in the planning and implementation. Activities are designed and implemented in a comprehensive and integrated manner as a solution to problems so that the Village Government, BUMDes, Pokdarwis, and the Batik Giriarum MSMEs are motivated and concerned about their role as agents of change for the development of the Girilayu Tourism Village. The results of the activity showed a significant increase in the batik-making community and the management of the Girilayu Tourism Village, including: 1) Giriarum Batik MSMEs understand and contribute to the design of the brand identity of the Girilayu Batik Tourism Village; 2) BUMDes and Pokdarwis HR insights and skills in managing local potential are growing; and 3) Active promotion of MSMEs Batik Giriarum batik products and tourist villages through social media.

Value Chain and Stakeholders’ Analyses of Batik Tulis Industry in Indonesia

The study aims to analyze the values added of batik tulis production and to analyze stakeholders’ objectives and competitiveness of batik tulis business. The study used a mixed method, a combination of quantitative and qualitative analysis. The data were analyzed using several analyses namely content analysis, value chain analysis, and stakeholder analysis. The content analysis was carried out to identify and to explain the supply chain of batik tulis production. The value chain analysis was undertaken to identify the existing stages of the value chain in batik tulis production. The stakeholders analysis was used to analyze stakeholders’ objectives and competitiveness of batik tulis business. The results revealed that the value chain of batik tulis production started from the procurement of raw materials, production processes, and sales. The highest added values obtained were through sales to wholesalers and retailers as compared to sales by displaying the products in galleries. The average profit margin earned by each entrepreneur exceeded 50% of the main production costs. Profit and reputation were revealed as the two stakeholders’ objectives that have the strongest and the most dominant influences in the industry. The entrepreneurs are expected to further optimize the activities that contribute the highest added values to be more efficient in managing the production costs, and in maintaining the interrelationship with other players of batik tulis entrepreneurs as well as with the suppliers of raw materials so that the cooperation can be carried out effectively.

MSMEs go digital: Marketing assistance for batik tulis products through e-commerce

The use of conventional marketing methods has a negative impact on the marketing of MSME Batik Tulis Mugissae products in Ngentakrejo Village. This is the background for Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta to carry out a community service program with the aim of assisting the marketing of digital based Batik Tulis MSME products. The mentoring implementation method is carried out in four stages, including: the stages of preparation, implementation, monitoring and evaluation and follow up plans. The results of the implementation provide assistance and education in strengthening understanding of digital based marketing. The preparatory stage is carried out through FGDs to produce a mature concept. The implementation phase is carried out by providing assistance in the form of product photos as MSME product branding, strengthening understanding of the use, marketing and promotion of Batik Tulis products through E-Commerce.

Exploring the Potential of Strengthtening for Batik Industry in Digital Era (Study of Handmade Batik Kulon Progo of Jogjakarta)

Indonesian Batik is a world cultural heritage that has been admired by UNESCO. The market potential for international batik products has long been a target for batik SMEs, including the production of batik tulis of Sembung Batik from Kulon Progo Regency, Jogjakarta. This study analyzes the constraints on the marketing of batik tulis Sembung Batik and recommends strategies for developing a creative economy by maintaining local wisdom. This study used a descriptive qualitative method and the data collected from Sembung Batik. The findings in this study are that foreign buyers almost never complain the quality of Sembung Batik products, meaning that the quality of the products is able to match the willing of foreign consumers. To keep pace with foreign demand, Sembung Batik needs to expand their marketing network by utilizing digital marketing technology, collaboration between batik SMEs, establishing partnerships with financial institutions and improving foreign language skill to communicate their newest products

Pelestarian Batik Tulis Lasem di Kalangan Perajin Batik Lasem di Desa Babagan Kabupaten Rembang

The purpose of this study was to find out the effort Batik Lasem artist in Babagan village to preserving and maintaining the Lasem batik industry. This study was designed using desriptive qualitative research methods. This study used four samples of artisans namely Batik “Sekar Kencana”, Batik “Kidang Mas”, Batik “Sumber Rejeki” dan Batik “Sekar Mulyo”. In this study, research data analysis technique uses three component are data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion. The results of this study found that the Batik Lasem artisans in Babagan village still produce and maintain the authencity of Batik Tulis Lasem as did Batik “Sekar Kencana” dan Batik “Kidang Mas”. Beside that, the artisans also made a modification and innovation of Batik tulis Lasem to keep up with the market demand. Other than, artisans of Batik tulis Lasem have used social mediato sell their batik fabrics and as an effort to intoduce Batik tulis Lasem to wider audience. Based on the result, artisans as a agent has a reciprocal relationship with the social structure in production and reproduction their action in accordance with the theory of structuration. Where the structure as a rule makes artisans still create authentic Batik Lasem to maintain sustainability. But, it also creates a new structure as a “outcome” the reproduction of their action which makes Batik Tulis Lasem more diverse and to introduced more widely using social media.

PERANCANGAN MOTIF BATIK TULIS KONTEMPORER UNTUK DIAPLIKASIKAN PADA COVID COVER KIT

This research is based on research data that has been carried out by Nuniek Mawardi as a consultant for Indonesia Trend Forecasting (ITF), during this pandemic period everyone is affected, directly or indirectly, so there needs to be innovative thinking to create new products that society needs today. One of them is innovating to redesign the Covid cover kit. The purpose of this research is to realize a contemporary patterned Covid cover kit with batik tulis with the theme of the 3M movement. The design method for the Covid cover kit starts with collecting references for various kinds of similar products on the market through field observations and online shop surveys. Furthermore, conducting a series of trials consisting of material testing, sewing technique trials, and visual trials. The results of this study can be concluded several things: (1) The Covid cover kit consisting of masks, gloves, and coats has a function to protect the wearer from Covid-19 when traveling and make the wearer look attractive or fashionable. (2) The process of creating and visualizing 3M themed batik is the same as the process of batik tulis in general and using the colet technique, but the motif focuses on visualizing the Covid-19 and human characters related to the 3M movement. (3) The impact of testing of materials and sewing techniques, especially on the batik coating material used, has an effect on the consideration of the application of motifs on the Covid cover kit.

Indonesia is the owner of an inscription certificate from UNESCO regarding the recognition of “The Representative List of The Intangible Culture Heritage of Humanity” for batik. This has an impact on increasing batik production due to increasing demand both from within the country and from abroad. However, there are problems in fulfilling the demand for batik. One of the problems is a decrease of skilled workers in batik especially for “batik tulis”. One that is experiencing a shortage of skilled workers is batik production in Cilacap Regency. Therefore, we empower the youth of the Widarapayung Wetan Village youth community by providing batik training. The purpose of this activity is to increase the interest of young people to pursue batik skills as well as to fulfil batik skilled workers. The results of a survey conducted at the end of the community service activity 80% of respondents agreed and 20% strongly agreed to explore batik skills.

Assistance of Batik Tulis in Nurul Huda Islamic Boarding School Situbondo through E-Commerce to Improve Socio-Economic Levels

Situbondo Regency is one of the regencies in East Java Indonesia that is thick with Madurese culture and its religious community. In this area, it is also the center of Islamic boarding schools. Interestingly, although in this regency is a pesantren base, there is one pesantren which is quite old and a pioneer in the development of the creative economy through a handicraft called batik (batik tulis). By using the participatory action research (PAR) approach, this community assistance aims to to visualize the reality of batik tulis as well as to build awareness in the pesantren community to adopt technology in marketing management, considering that problem lies in marketing. Through the support of E-Commerce system, the results of community assistance show that there are greater prospects in improving the socio-economic level of Islamic boarding schools in the creative economy business of batik tulis with supported by information technology

PENGEMBANGAN MOTIF BATIK BERBASIS TINGGALAN ARKEOLOGI KELURAHAN LEGOK KOTA JAMBI TAHAP II

This program is a continuation of the activities in the previous year. The newest batik motifs were inspired by ornaments and archaeological remains from the Situs Candi Solok Sipin. In 2020, batik tulis, the Makara Ekikarana motif has been produced. In 2021, the team try to make batik cap inspired by the Yaksa figure on the Makara and Stupa from the Situs Candi Solok Sipin. The batik cap is related to the purpose of preparing products at affordable prices, it's hoping that the batik is marketed more broadly. In addition, this new motif can also enrich the batik repertoire at the Rumah Batik Kelurahan Legok. The method is held in stages; the first stage is the preparation. During the preparation stage, we make motif design and make coordination with the Kelurahan Legok dan Rumah Batik. After the batik cap motif is ready, the next step is to make a stamp. After the preparation stage was completed, the next step is to produce a batik cap in 3 (three) days. On the last day, we make a product launch, the products are ready to be marketed. The results achieved include the creation of the Yaksa Stupa motif which is applied to cloth and masks.

QUALITY CONTROL OF WRITTEN BATIK CV. BATIK TULIS AL HUDA WITH STATISTICAL QUALITY CONTROL (SQC) METHOD

This study aims to analyze quality control at CV. Batik Tulis Al Huda. This type of research is quantitive descriptive research. In this research, the sample used was the number of the defect in the batik tulis product at CV. Batik Tulis Al Huda in 2019. This research uses the Statistical Quality Control method with tools namely check sheet, histogram, control chart, Pareto diagram, and cause-effect diagram. The results showed that the batik production process still experienced irregularities or was out of control. The overall level of damage reached 3.93% of the total production. Factors that cause defective products are human error, procedures that are not carried out properly, and equipment that is not in good condition.

The Implementation of the POPMAR (Policy, Organising, Planning and Implementing, Measuring Performance, Audit and Reviewing) Model in Occupational Health and Safety Risk Management in an Indonesian Batik Company

Introduction: In 2009, UNESCO declared Batik Indonesia as an Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity. This study examines the occupational health and safety hazards and risks that arise in a Batik company based on a case example of a Batik company in Surakarta, Indonesia. In Indonesia, Batik is categorized as traditional attire. Two kinds of Batik are produced - Batik tulis (traditionally handcrafted) and Batik printing, which uses specific printing tools. The UK Health Safety Executive (HSE) risk assessment framework is referred to in this study, which consists of: hazard identification, population exposure, risk evaluation, precaution development, recording findings, and regular appraisal of systems. Methods: Both observation and interviews (of workers) at the Batik company were utilized for this study as well as an independent risk assessment. Results: The findings highlighted physical, ergonomic, chemical, mechanical, and biological hazards, originating from the materials, tools, and working methods utilized in the batik production. Conclusion: Many of the issues highlighted by this study can be addressed via in-depth risk assessment, using the POPMAR model to frame the activities. This approach can create a positive pathway, leading to a continuous cycle of improvement which puts the workers’ health at the forefront of the business activities.Keywords: Batik, workers, hazard identification, HSE Model, risk management

Empowerment of Batik Tulis Groups through the Association

The Giriloyo Batik Tulis Association is confronted with a fundamental challenge: how to maintain and preserve the tradition of batik tulis while the technology-based batik business grows. This study uses a qualitative descriptive approach to describe the empowerment of batik tulis groups in the Giriloyo and several inhibiting and solutions to issues associated with empowerment of batik tulis groups. The findings show that roles of paguyuban in empowerment are facilitator; coordinator; relation; information; marketing; social control; mediators; evaluation; and innovator. The inhibiting factors are the weakness in the HR sector, generational crisis, facilities, empowerment patterns, management, and unequal vision. The solution to the problems being pursued by the association are training programs; managing potential resources within the community as employment opportunities for the younger generation, launching professional personnel in certain fields; sustainable empowerment; grouping tourism village administrators with batik associations; strentening association through deliberation (musyawarah) and consensus (mufakat)
