THE VALUE ATTITUDE OF WORKERS TO THE CODEPENDENT CATEGORIES OF “LABOUR” AND “POWER” IN 1950–1980: BEHAVIOURAL PATTERNS AND EMOTIONAL AND PSYCHOLOGICAL WELL-BEING OF THE POPULATION

The article analyses the correlation between the categories “labour” and “political power” in the prism of public consciousness of the Russian industrial society of the 1950s-80s on the material of archival sources and documents of the periodical press, many of which have been introduced into scientific circulation for the first time. The text reflects the problem of disintegration of the lower segment and the management apparatus of enterprises based on socio-economic and political private-ownership imbalance, labelled by public strains as anti-Soviet way of life associated with malpractice. The author comments on the circumstances of refraction of the basic traits of diligence and patience cultivated by the authorities through ideological concepts. The author concludes that during the period and especially acutely by the 1980s, due to the isolation of economic and managerial overproduction personnel, the collectives of ordinary workers matured rejection and distrust of the authorities, and the progression of operations to rethink the attitude to labour was recorded. The consequence of this process was metamorphosis of world outlook, various deviations in the way of working everyday life and social practices of the representatives of national economic complexes.

Mining candidate genes for grape seed traits based on a genome-wide association study

Seedlessness has always been a valuable quality characteristic of edible grape varieties. Although the production of seedless grapes has been ongoing for decades, the genetic complexity of seedless grapes is not yet fully understood. Therefore, determining the genetic mechanisms and key regulatory genes of seedless grapes is of great significance for seedless grape breeding and meeting market demands. The emergence of high-throughput analysis software offers greater possibilities for mining genes related to plant organ development. Specifically, to mine a greater number of candidate genes related to grape seed traits, this study used the seed trait parameters analyzed by Tomato Analyzer as the target trait and then used a genome-wide association study (GWAS) to mine candidate genes. In the two-year analysis using principal component analysis (PCA), we extracted five principal components with a cumulative contribution rate of 96.586 %. The cumulative contribution rate for component 1 reached 87.352 %. Correlation analysis revealed correlation coefficients ranging from 0.54 to 0.98 among the seven basic traits. The GWAS results indicated that 370 SNP loci were significantly correlated with seed traits. These SNP loci were distributed on 18 chromosomes, except for chromosome 4, with most SNP loci distributed on chromosome 18. Based on the physical location of single nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) markers significantly associated with seed-related traits in the grape reference genome, candidate genes are screened within the range of linkage disequilibrium (LD) attenuation distance, both upstream and downstream of the significant SNP loci. These candidate genes were mainly transcription factor-related genes (VvMADS4 and VvMADS5), ubiquitin ligase-related genes (E3 ubiquitin ligase BIG BROTHER), serine/threonine protein kinase-related genes, and carbohydrate metabolism-related genes (Sucrose Synthase 2) and simultaneously controlled multiple (at least two or more) seed traits. These results indicate that seed traits are jointly regulated by some genes involved in seed morphology regulation. In this work, we identified new gene loci related to grape seed traits. Identifying molecular markers closely related to these seed traits is of great significance for breeding seedless grape varieties.

Character education is more important than moral education because character education not only recognizes what is right and what is wrong but also how students are subjected to goodness. Character education includes education of values, ethics, morals, and character and aims to teach students how to make good choices and maintain goodness in daily life. This study aims to determine how the implementation of character-based school management in SDN 1 Watubelah runs. This study uses a qualitative approach with data collection techniques: in-depth interviews, observations, and audiovisuals. The criteria used to select informants are homeroom teachers, BK teachers, and curriculum staff. The study results show that schools want to instill traits such as creativity, talent, and morals. They also do not forget basic traits such as honesty, discipline, etc

On Vulnerability, Biopolitics, and Political Struggles: Some Thoughts on (Post)pandemic Times

For many of us, the COVID-19 pandemic was experienced as a parenthesis in our individual and collective existences. At the same time, this parenthesis ran the affective spectrum from hope to despair, resilience to sorrow. Importantly, one’s socioeconomic background, gender, and race shaped the impact of the pandemic. While some were able to work online from home, others lost their jobs or had to turn to precarious activities. Some countries were able to manage the pandemic with proactive public health measures; other nations followed a laissez-faire approach with dramatic consequences. The digitalization of our daily lives—in particular digital-based consumption—was accelerated during the pandemic. Most of all, the pandemic exposed the radical vulnerability of our bodies, either directly through infection or infection of our loved ones, with, in many cases, tragic outcomes. This vulnerability was biological since the virus seemed to be—at first—out of control, using our human bodies to replicate; the pandemic exposed the basic traits of our human condition. This vulnerability was also political. Many governments were stultified, or oscillated from one strategy to another. Poor, or reckless, governance undermined the legitimacy of that governance; at the same time, a “warfare” rhetoric often shored up that legitimacy while justifying the erosion of rights.

Convolution of individual and group identity: self-reliance increases polarisation in basic opinion model

Opinion formation within society follows complex dynamics. Towards its understanding, axiomatic theory can complement data analysis. To this end, we propose an axiomatic model of opinion formation that aims to capture the interaction of individual conviction with social influence in a minimalist fashion. Despite only representing that (1) agents have an initial conviction with respect to a topic and are (2) influenced by their neighbours, the model shows the emergence of opinion clusters from an initially unstructured state. Here, we show that increasing individual self-reliance makes agents more likely to align their socially influenced opinion with their inner conviction which concomitantly leads to increased polarisation. The opinion drift observed with increasing self-reliance may be a plausible analogue of polarisation trends in the real-world. Modelling the basic traits of striving for individual versus group identity, we find a trade-off between individual fulfilment and societal cohesion. This finding from fundamental assumptions can serve as a building block to explain opinion polarisation.

Full throttle: are motorcyclists as risk-taking as we think?

Motorcycling, whether thought of as a leisure activity, hobby, or social activity, can add quality to one's life. Being a member of a motorcycle club may promote a sense of community, while motorcycling itself may increase feelings of awe and joy. When conceptualized as part of one's social identity, motorcycling tends to be associated with an unfavourable image or stereotype, wherein motorcyclists' personalities are characterized as rebellious, prone to risk-taking behaviour, and masculine (regardless of the motorcyclist's gender). The accuracy of this stereotype is unclear, particularly as perceived by non-motorcyclists, such as car drivers. Accordingly, the overall purpose of this exploratory study was to describe the personality profile of motorcyclists from a basic trait perspective (Big 5) and assess its congruence with non-motorcyclists' perceptions of the "typical" motorcyclist's personality. A cross-sectional online survey (N = 376) consisting of motorcyclists (n = 194) and car drivers (n = 182) collected information on personality traits (self-report or perceived), riding behaviour (motorcyclists only), and well-being. The results show that car drivers perceive motorcyclists to be more disinhibited, less open, more neurotic, less agreeable, and less conscientious than motorcyclists self-report. Car drivers' perceptions of motorcyclists seem to be more negative than their actual personalities, suggesting an unfavourable judgement of that community.

Psychologists return to the first question of Western philosophy.

When ancient humans gained the ability to investigate abstract questions, what first question did they pose? This article offers a novel, sweeping, historical analysis with important implications for psychological theory. The story begins with identifying the first question in Ancient Greek philosophy as "Where am I?" with particular interest in the world's overarching basic traits. For example, Pythagoras proposed the world was defined by beauty and Heraclitus suggested change. Though this discourse has traditionally puzzled historians, recent psychological research suggests it might have been largely a debate over primal world beliefs, an emerging research topic that this article introduces and situates historically. Recently, the latent structure of primal world beliefs was mapped statistically, revealing 26 dimensions. Most of these beliefs were new to psychologists, yet already posed by ancient philosophers-including Pythagoras' Beautiful world belief and Heraclitus' Changing world belief. Identifying first questions in early history may have value for psychological theorizing because it hints at something that social psychologists have long suspected: that humans are creatures fundamentally driven to understand their situation and what it calls for. Mutual information between galaxy properties and the initial predisposition

The immense diversity of the galaxy population in the universe is believed to stem from their disparate merging and star formation histories, and multi-scaleinfluences of diverse environments. No single causal factor of the initial state is known to explain how the galaxies formed and evolved to end uppossessing such various traits as they have at the present epoch. However, several observational studies have revealed that the key physical properties of the observedgalaxies in the local universe appeared to have a much simpler, lower-dimensional correlation structure than expected, the origin of which remains unexplained.Speculating that the emergence of such a simple correlation structure of the galaxy properties must be triggered by nature rather than by nurture,we explore if the present galaxy properties may be correlated with the initial precondition for protogalaxy angular momentum, τ, and test it against the datafrom the IllustrisTNG300-1 hydrodynamic simulation. Employing Shannon's information theory, we discover that τ shares a significantly large amount of mutual informationwith each of the four basic traits of the TNG galaxies at z = 0: the spin parameters, formation epochs, stellar-to-total mass ratios, and fraction of kinetic energy in ordered rotation.These basic traits except for the stellar-to-total mass ratios are found to contain even a larger amount of MI about τ than about the total masses and environmentsfor the case of giant galaxies with 11.5 ≤ log[M t/(h -1 M ⊙)] < 13. Our results imply that the initial condition of the universe must be more impactful on the galaxyevolution than conventionally thought.

On the Mythological Background of the Bylina “Ilya Muromets and Nightingale the Robber”

The bylina “Ilya Muromets and Nightingale the Robber” is one of the most popular Russian epics. Several interpretations of this bylina and of the image of Nightingale the Robber have been proposed: a reflection of the Indo-European storm myth, an Iranian borrowing, the image of a monstrous guard on the border between the two worlds, a reflection of the principal Balto-Slavic myth of Perun and Veles. Each of these points of view is partially grounded but does not exhaust the complicated nature of this narrative. Its mythological background survived three development stages: from the primitive myth based on the zoomorphic image of death to the later dragon-fighting legend and the mixanthropic picture, naturally corresponding to it, which, in its turn, gained its final shape under the influence of the stadially related Iranian epic. The most archaic variant of the plot is represented in a Belarusian fairy tale, in which Ilya Muromets kills Snake the horned Falcon and the tsar Pražor ‘Glutton’, who eats 10 humans (supplying by Falcon) a day. This role of Falcon refers to the mythological notion of a bird that brings the souls of the departed to the god of the underworld. The transition from this original image to the mixanthropic Snake the horned Falcon and Nightingale as well as the echo of the dragon-slaying theme belongs to the later epoch of statehood and the class society. Codevelopment of life goals and the Big Five personality traits across adulthood and old age.

Since the new millennium, research in the field of personality development has focused on the stability and change of basic personality traits. Motivational aspects of personality and their longitudinal association with basic traits have received comparably little attention. In this preregistered study, we applied bivariate latent growth curve model to investigated the codevelopment of nine life goals and the Big Five traits. We tested age, perceived control, gender, educational background, and regional socialization as potential moderators of codevelopment. Data came from the German Socio-Economic Panel study (N = 55,040, age range: 18-103 years) and span a study period of 13 years. During this period, the Big Five traits and life goals were assessed four times. Our findings suggest that development in broader life goal domains (e.g., self-fulfillment) is more strongly connected to personality development across the life span, whereas changes in specific goals (e.g., having children) are more closely tied to trait changes during young and middle adulthood. The strongest codevelopment was found between Openness and agentic goals with a focus on personal growth followed by codevelopment between Agreeableness and communal goals. Developmental stage and educational background moderated the codevelopment of Conscientiousness and economic achievement as well as family-related goals. Contrary to the previous research, we found that Neuroticism codeveloped with communal life goals (i.e., having a happy relationship/marriage). Our findings reinforce theoretical frameworks that highlight the role of changing opportunities, constraints, and developmental tasks across adulthood. Biological characteristics of NK cells and their application in cancer treatment

The leading cause of mortality among people is cancer. Traditional medicine, however, has significant dangers and negative effects. Because of its great effectiveness, lack of side effects, and safety, cellular immunotherapy has been utilized extensively in the treatment of malignancies in recent years. While various treatment options have many benefits, they also present unique issues and difficulties. In certain ways, NK cell immunotherapy can make up for these deficiencies. It is not necessary to rely on the patient's distinct immune cells because they may be made from allogeneic cells. Additionally, it can successfully cure the majority of solid tumours, get rid of cancer cells that are resistant to chemotherapy and radiation treatment and metastasis, and enhance the body's immune system, which is the present study's emphasis. As a result, this article begins by introducing the basic traits of NK cells, including traits, uses, activation methods, and how NK cells destroy other cells in an immune response. The use of NK cell therapy in treating different cancers, including hematological malignancies, is then emphasized. Finally, NK cell treatment for cancer development and potential issues are examined. In the future, it will serve as a reference for the treatment of tumours.

To the sources! On historical source criticism in metal studies

Metal studies is usually considered to be a fundamentally interdisciplinary field of research. However, the disciplines that were included at its beginning (mostly sociology, cultural anthropology, musicology, and philosophy) are still theoretically dominant. As a consequence, several important research questions that do not reflect these disciplines’ epistemologies have remained unanswered to this day. To a great extent, this applies to historical research questions on metal scenes. In this respect, the author argues that metal studies could benefit from the expertise of history in general and source criticism in particular. In order to develop this argument, necessary basic traits of contemporary historical source criticism are introduced. Then, the author proceeds by individually discussing three fundamental types of sources that are structurally tied to the historical long-term processes in metal scenes: concert flyers, album covers and band T-shirts. Research into the Styrian metal scene in south-eastern Austria provides examples. To conclude, it is posited that starting from a semiotic concept of source criticism and then adapting such a concept for the specific purposes of metal studies is necessary to nurture historical awareness and the accuracy of relevant research.

Sociocultural Analysis of Millennials in Russia

The present article provides a sociocultural analysis of parameters of the millennials, the generation which will become the main workforce in Russia in the next ten years. This is what gives the paper its relevance. The paper focuses on the market and micro-interactionist influence of basic traits of millennials. The issue of how to behave towards millennials is faced both at the sociological and managerial levels. It is said that the large number of conflicts between millennials and older generations leads to systematic disruption and turbulence, as it does not allow young employees to integrate into corporate cultures and increase labour efficiency, which simultaneously affects older employees, management and corporative performance. Another aspect of the core issue raised by the author is educating the youth. Understanding the set of core values of millennials, their strategies and behavioural tactics in the workplace is also a prerequisite for teachers and instructors to successfully train students of this generation in universities. Like many recent studies, this research considers the distinctive features that can be used to characterize millennials. They, being digital natives, shift to more rapid, discrete and depersonalized forms of communication. Focused on managing their personal image and identity, millennials prefer to play socially desirable roles and tend to reframe their own failures into external misfortunes. This brings about the issue of meeting set goals, and nowadays the youth tends to plan less and thrives on regular feedback that they expect to be positive. These features are most likely to breed intergenerational misunderstanding. However, millennials tend to be more flexible and tolerant than other generations, which is useful for settling controversies and speaks to the overall success of interaction and effort on the part of this generation. The author, addressing the challenges of communication with the modern youth, offers recommendations based on her own pedagogical experience of interaction with millennials. These are: provide basic guidelines, time plans, and assessment benchmarks. Managerial staff should also dedicate more effort to mentorship and peer-level communication.

Oncology nurse competency in chimeric antigen receptor T-cell therapy: A qualitative study

BackgroundChimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T-cell therapy is a promising therapeutic method in the field of tumor immunotherapy. An increasing number of patients are beginning to select CAR T-cell therapy in mainland China. It is characterized by a complex process, a long period of treatment, high individualization, quick disease status changes and unique side effects. Oncology nurses play a crucial role in the provision of CAR T-cell therapy. ObjectiveTo explore oncology nurses' competency in CAR T-cell therapy with guidance from the iceberg model. DesignA descriptive qualitative study. SettingsThis study was conducted with nurses on lymphoma wards in three tertiary hospitals in China. ParticipantsA total of 13 nurses and 2 nursing managers were approached, and all of them took part in this study. MethodsData were collected face-to-face or via online video using a semistructured interview guide between November 2022 and February 2023 by the first author. The study was performed and reported following the Consolidated Criteria for Reporting Qualitative Research. Content analysis was used to analyze the data. ResultsNursing competency in CAR T-cell therapy was identified as including four main categories encompassing 12 subcategories and 40 codes. The main categories were theoretical knowledge, operation skills, personality traits and motives. The subcategories were basic knowledge of chemotherapy, professional knowledge of CAR T-cell therapy, basic skills, professional skills, relevant discipline skills, communication/coordination ability, critical thinking, basic traits, professional personality, enthusiasm for the nursing profession, empathy with patients and motivation to promote professional development. ConclusionsMedical staff can develop a competency-based nurse training program to improve the professional competencies of oncology nurses in CAR T-cell therapy and meet patients' supportive needs for optimal care. Additionally, the findings may be helpful for building measurement standards to assess oncology nurses' performance.

MORPHOLOGY OF FEMALE SKULLS OF THE 17th – 18th CENT. FROM BATURYN

This article deals with the publication and the comparative analysis of the 17th – 18th cent. female cranial series from town of Baturyn found during excavations by V. Kovalenko, O. Kovalenko, Yu. Sytyi, V. Mezentsev, V. Skorokhod during 2005–2015 on the territory of the Fortress (the Cathedral of the Life-Giving Trinity) and in resedimentation. Computer software designed by B. Kozintsev and O. Kozintsev in 1991 has been applied in the research. 14 craniometric traits defined by R. Martin have been involved into the analysis.&#x0D; The objective of this paper is to introduce a new material into scientific domain and define the place of the cranial series among famous anthropological types. To achieve this goal, it is necessary to provide the general morphological description of female group from Baturyn of the 17th – 18th cent. on the background of neighbouring ethnic groups from Ukraine and Eastern Europe (synchronistic and diachronic methods), determine the distance between separate cranial series of the 14th – 19th cent. with the help of multidimensional canonical and cluster analysis, and to find out the place of female population from Baturyn in the system of craniological types of Eastern Europe.&#x0D; For the first time, the general female series from Baturyn of the 17th – 18th cent. including 33 skulls has been created. After comparison of square divergence of 69 basic traits and indexes of Baturyn female skulls with the standard ones, one can conclude that the researched selection is heterogeneous by its structure. The multidimensional canonical and cluster comparative analyses of the studied female group of the 17th – 18th cent. with the synchronic and earlier series from the 14th – 19th cent. from Eastern Europe (except the Caucasus) have demonstrated its closest similarity to the urban skulls from Podillia.&#x0D; The comparison of 37 studied groups of the 14th – 19th cent. with the method of multidimensional canonical analysis in three-dimensional space has demonstrated the connection of the female skull sample from the town of Baturyn with two urban groups from Podillia.

An Assessment of the Genetic Parameters of Boars' Reproductive Traits.

The aim of this study was to estimate genetic parameters for the reproductive traits of boars based on single-nucleotide polymorphism data. A total of 109,836 semen samples from 2249 boars were collected between 2010 and 2022. Five basic traits were assessed: sperm volume, sperm concentration, motility, number of abnormal sperm, and, for the first time for the local population, libido. In addition, two derived traits were assessed: total sperm count and number of functional sperm. Genetic parameters were estimated using the single-step genomic best linear unbiased prediction method (ssGBLUP). Dam and sire breeds were evaluated separately. The five basic traits were evaluated using five-trait models, while the two derived traits were evaluated using single-trait models. The heritability coefficients had lower values for all sperm quality traits with both methods. For the basic traits, the heritability ranged from 0.099 to 0.342. The greatest difference between dam and sire breeds was observed for the heritability of the sperm concentration trait (0.099 and 0.271, respectively). The heritability of the libido trait was twice as high for boars of sire breeds as it was for boars of dam breeds. The genetic parameters estimated with ssGBLUP can be used in routine genetic evaluations to improve the pig breeding process.

Abstract In his last work, Relire le relié, Michel Serres develops a philosophy of religion that circumvents the conventional demarcations of reason and faith, knowledge of the world and knowledge of revelation, or agnosticism and apology. In a structuralistically-informed relecture, he exposes the basic traits of religion. With its narratives and theologoumena, it captures and describes being-in-the-world as an event of universal synthesis. It is – in Serres’ diction – about the basic relatio of energy and information, entropy and negentropy, chaos and order. This relié is described neither as an effort or act of a subject, a system, a language community, nor sufficiently as an emergence effect of evolutionary-natural processes. The recording of this synthesis forbids both any dichotomy of an irresolvable hiatus as well as the construction of a unitary space of any kind.

A dataset of Liaoning soil species based on the Second National Soil Survey

Based on Liaoning Soil Species published by Liaoning University Press in 1991, this dataset is one of the results of the Second National Soil Survey in Liaoning Province. We standardize, structurize and digitalize the data of 237 soil species, organizing them based on their distribution areas, morphologic characteristics, physicochemical properties and productivity. Particularly, the dataset uses seven tables delineating Liaoning soil species, including soil classification, soil basic traits, landscape of typical soil profile, genetic horizon of typical soil, physicochemical properties of typical soil profile, administrative region distribution of soil species, and the names of counties and cities. The dataset can be used for land quality assessment and research on environmental change and soil carbon sequestration in Liaoning Province. The dataset serves as a crucial reference for informing agricultural structure adjustment and facilitating the rational use of soil resources in Liaoning Province.

Informational Resilience in the Human Cognitive Ecology.

Resilience is a basic trait of cognitive systems and fundamentally connected to their autopoietic organization. It plays a vital role in maintaining the identity of cognitive systems in the face of external threats and perturbances. However, when examining resilience in the context of autopoiesis, an overlooked issue arises: the autopoietic theory formulated by Maturana and Varela (1980) renders traditional Shannon information obsolete, highlighting that information should not be ascribed a role in cognitive systems in a general sense. This paper examines the current situation and suggests a possible way forward by exploring an affordance-based view on information, derived from radical cognitive science, which is exempted from Maturana and Varela's critique. Specifically, it argues that the impact of social influence on affordance use is crucial when considering how resilience can manifest in informational relations pertaining to the human cognitive ecology.
