Research on Education Equity of County High School in China

This paper mainly focuses on the phenomenon of ' county collapse ' in China in recent years and a series of educational inequality problems caused by it. The county high schools play an important role in elementary education, but recently it have shown a downward spiral. Educational equity is an important guarantee for social mobility and long-term stability of the country. Therefore, the author mainly analyzes the reasons for the ' county collapse ' and the unfair phenomenon of county high schools from four aspects : the government 's management investment in basic education resources, the quality of students generated by market regulation, the quality and loss of teaching teachers supported by county schools, and the educational support based on families. Finally, according to the four reasons, the paper puts forward the improvement measures from the aspects of legislative law enforcement, government administrative management and value advocacy, and fundamental education concept of parents ' support

Clustering of Basic Educational Resources and Urban Resilience Development in the Central Region of China—An Empirical Study Based on POI Data

This paper presents an urban resilience evaluation index system and evaluation on the clustering of educational resources based on the data of 80 prefecture-level cities in China’s central region in 2012, 2016, and 2020. The results reveal a rising trend of urban resilience in the central region of China, with the provincial capital cities exhibiting the highest levels of resilience. Educational resources are clustered in urban areas of provincial capital cities and other prefectural-level cities. Furthermore, clustering of educational resources has a significant impact on urban resilience. Policy factors play a significant role in moderating the relationship between educational resource clustering and urban resilience in large cities; however, this moderating role is not significant in small cities. These findings have significant implications for the optimal allocation of educational resources, promotion of urban resilience, and advancement of social equity.

The Application and Potential Future Development of Artificial Intelligence in Education

With the coming of the era of artificial intelligence, the impact of artificial intelligence technology on basic education has been widely discussed, but there are still many problems and challenges. This paper focuses on the analysis of AI technology enabling basic education and the challenges in the application process. This paper concludes that artificial intelligence helps teachers carry out intelligent teaching and promotes students' personalized learning. But at the same time, AI also brings many challenges and risks, such as how to protect privacy and filter information in data overflow; And how to keep students creative while using AI. Based on this, this paper puts forward the following suggestions: the government should strengthen the investment and optimize the allocation of basic education resources; The government will explore the development of ethical norms and regulatory mechanisms applicable to artificial intelligence in the field of education; Schools to strengthen the training and introduction of teachers; Individual students combine artificial intelligence with real life.

The Impact of Social Support on the College Enrollment Aspirations of Ethnic Minority Vocational Students: A Case Study of a Modern Industrial College in Xinjiang

In recent years, China has been striving to enhance the quality of the population in ethnic minority areas, promote local talent cultivation, and accelerate local economic development by increasing investment in basic education resources and expanding enrollment in higher education. This study conducted semi-structured interviews with 27 ethnic minority students from a modern industrial college in Xinjiang to explore the influence of social support on academic aspirations. Employing qualitative research methods and drawing on the interview outline by Wang (2020), supported by Ajzen’s (1991) Theory of Planned Behavior, the study concludes that national policies, schools, teachers, and parents influence the academic aspirations of ethnic minority students. Based on these findings, the study suggests the effective implementation of relevant national policies and calls for schools, teachers, and parents to pay attention to and encourage the academic aspirations of ethnic minority students. This study inspires future scholars to pay more attention to the academic aspirations of ethnic minority students, aiming to provide them with more assistance and improve the overall education level of ethnic minority students.

Crisis and Continuity: Evaluating Teacher and Community Strategies for Sustaining Education in War-Torn Areas of Myanmar

This study evaluates the strategies used by teachers and communities to sustain education in conflict-affected areas of Kayah (Karenni) State and Pekon Township in Myanmar. Utilizing resilience theory and program evaluation, the research explores the motivations and challenges faced by teachers, the role of community support, and the impact of capacity-building activities. Key findings reveal that teachers are driven by empathy and a sense of duty, facing significant obstacles such as insecurity and resource scarcity. Community support is crucial, with high levels of parental cooperation and trust within the community facilitating educational resilience. Capacity-building initiatives significantly enhance teaching effectiveness, while student engagement remains resilient despite the conflict. The study highlights the critical need for local and international educational organizations to recognize community-led educational efforts, provide basic educational resources, and establish intermediary programs for higher education access. The paper contributes to the understanding of educational resilience in conflict zones, offering practical recommendations for sustaining education amidst adversity.

Information Flow and Knowledge Management Strategies in the Digital Transformation of Party History and Party Building Education

Abstract In this paper, a relatively complete digital education management information system is established for the digital basic education resources involved in the field of basic education of Marxist theory to realize the digital transformation of party history and party-building education. Faced with a large amount of student data, the improved new BP model is utilized for integration, cataloging, and prediction. The data elements describing the resources are used as semantic tags to generate XLM documents in a standardized format, which enables the system to exchange data with other resource systems easily. It can be observed that the BP model accurately predicts and analyzes the shared learning behaviors of certain students with a prediction accuracy of 98% upon analysis. The educational management information system proposed in this paper can effectively identify potential risk-takers and categorize learning groups. The indicator of resource-sharing learning behavior has a significant effect on the learning effect of Marxist theory (P<0.05).

Reform of educational management work in higher education based on departmental sociology in the context of intelligent technology

Abstract Based on Apriori algorithm and BP neural network technology, this paper deeply integrates association rules and data mining technology in education and informatization management, which provides a new method and a new way of thinking for reforming education management work in the context of intelligent technology. In real-life settings, education management is being managed using this new method. Taking the university district of DN201 as the research object, the allocation level of basic education resources in the university district is measured and optimized in a balanced way through indicator analysis. The parameter settings described allowed for the search of strong correlation rules for the mastery level of students in each course cluster. The results show that SN201 has the highest level of educational resource allocation at 8.32. SN215 is at the lowest level at 2.62. This shows that there is an imbalance in its resource allocation. The coefficient of variation of educational resource allocation of SN217 is 0.83 before optimization, and after optimization, the coefficient of variation is 0.65, and the variation becomes lower. The courses have a higher level of enhanced strong association than 4.

Spatial distribution of urban basic education resources in Shanghai: Accessibility and supply-demand matching evaluation

Abstract This article focuses on Shanghai as a case study and utilizes various factors such as points of interest, nighttime lights, land use, road networks, and Digital Elevation Model to examine the spatial distribution of population. A random forest model is constructed to decompose the population of streets in 2022 into a 100-m grid. The study then assesses the spatial accessibility of basic education resources using a cost-weighted distance method and evaluates the supply-demand match of these resources using an improved potential model. The findings reveal the following: (1) At the street level, the spatialization of population distribution achieves a superior fit (R 2 = 0.7679) with statistical data compared to the WorldPop dataset. The overall population distribution in Shanghai exhibits a spatial pattern characterized by “one main area, two sub-areas, and multiple scattered points,” effectively capturing the distribution characteristics. (2) The overall spatial accessibility of basic education resources in Shanghai is favorable, with 100% of residents able to reach the nearest primary school, junior high school, and high school within a 30-min travel time. However, significant urban–rural disparities are observed, as areas with dense facilities and well-developed transportation exhibit better accessibility. Streets with poorer accessibility tend to be concentrated in larger jurisdictional areas with abundant forests near the sea. (3) The main urban area of Shanghai and the districts of Songjiang and Fengxian demonstrate a relatively balanced supply and demand of basic education resources in several areas. However, there are still regions within these areas where resource allocation could be further strengthened.

Agile neural expert system for managing basic education

Inadequate experts in managing resources at the lower level of education to enhance effective teaching and learning for quality education is a significant challenge in developing nations. Many basic schools lack basic educational resources such as sitting places and writing places for learners. Inadequate teaching and learning resources negatively affect the educational policies in a country. It is common to see the media projecting the challenges of a school lacking these resources. The use of an Expert System (ES) in Artificial Intelligence (AI) to assist in effective management is a necessity. In this paper, an agile neural expert system is proposed using differential equations with an initial value problem. The technique combines both rule-based and neural networks in handling the problem. The expertise of the Human Expert (HE) is used in a knowledge-based to assist in managing the resources in schools. This has been possible with the use of Data Mining (DM) techniques and modeling of projected population growth, affecting enrolment in schools and necessitating the provision of resources to cater to the growing population. For efficiency and effectiveness in planning, provision, and management of the resources, smart notification has been embedded in the system to monitor the availability and provision of the resources by prompting the various actors in the requisition, verification, validation, and approval of resources to be supplied to schools. The system proves a higher efficiency demonstrating speed in decision-making, accuracy in decisions and ease to use.

Impact of “expanding powers and strengthening counties” reform on basic public education services: Empirical evidence from Sichuan, China

The quality of a country's education system is both an indicator of its present level of development and a predictor of future economic advancement. This study intended to explore the impact of the “expanding power and strengthening counties” reform on the supply of basic public education resources. A combination of qualitative and quantitative methods was used to analyze the panel data of 114 counties in Sichuan Province from 2005 to 2017, including 78 counties with expanded powers. The study found that the “expanded power strong counties (EPSC)" had a significant positive impact on the supply level of funding resources measured by per capita public education expenditure. The time effect of the EPSC on the supply of teacher resources for county public education was manifested as a sharp increase in the supply level in the three years before the reform. The supply level tended to be stable after four years of reform. The economic resources supply level was relatively stable in the first three years and rose sharply after four years. There was a downward trend after the reform for 8 years. The structural effect has shown a more significant incentive effect on the supply of public education resources to strong and weak counties. But compared with the weak counties with lower economic development levels, the strong counties with higher economic development levels have a more noticeable effect of their decentralization reform on improving the supply level of public education resources.

Spatial Pattern and Influencing Factors of Basic Education Resources in Rural Areas around Metropolises—A Case Study of Wuhan City’s New Urban Districts

Basic education resources are basic urban and rural social public security resources, and their spatial distribution is an important issue related to people’s livelihoods and social justice. Taking Wuhan as a case study, this paper analyzed the spatial distribution characteristics of rural basic education resources based on the methods of the average nearest neighbor index, imbalance index, kernel density analysis and two-step floating catchment area and then used geographic detector analysis to detect its influencing factors. The following findings were obtained: (1) Rural kindergartens and elementary schools in Wuhan City’s new urban districts showed a clustered distribution pattern, while secondary schools showed a uniform distribution trend. The spatial distribution of rural basic education resources is poorly balanced, with a tendency to cluster in Huangpi District, Xinzhou District and Caidian District; the overall spatial distribution density of rural basic education resources showed the distribution characteristics of “block-like clustering and multicenter development”. (2) The spatial accessibility of kindergartens showed a spatial pattern of “large dispersion and small clustering”, with multiple high-value clustering areas; and the accessibility of elementary and secondary schools showed a spatial pattern of high in the south and low in the north. (3) The population, economy and education development level are the main factors affecting the spatial distribution of rural basic education resources, while the influence of infrastructure construction is weak. The core influencing factors of the spatial distribution of each type of basic education resource are both consistent and different. According to the interaction factor detection, the spatial distribution of rural basic education resources in Wuhan City’s new urban districts is the result of the combined effect of multiple factors.

Analysis of Problems and Countermeasures in the Allocation of Educational Resources in Urban and Rural Areas of China

At the present stage, the scatter of basic education resources between urban and rural areas is extremely unbalanced, and the gap between development levels is large, which has seriously affected the development of China's education and the construction of a harmonious society. Based on the reality of unbalanced allocation of urban and rural education resources, we should propose to re integrate town teaching resources according to the development trend of education urbanization, implement the principle of paying attention to equity and giving consideration to efficiency, and provide higher quality education for rural children. Take the scientific unity of education quality, efficiency and equity as the strategic goal, focus and breakthrough of reallocation of education resources, fundamentally reverse and eliminate the differential allocation of rural educational materials, ensure the full investment of financial resources for rural compulsory education, and accelerate the balanced development of urban and rural compulsory education. This paper aims to come true the sharing of town teaching resources, deepen the reform of town and country education system, and broaden the financing channels for town and country education.

Resource Sharing Method of Basic Computer Education Based on Mixed Gaussian Model

This study developed a computer-based basic educational resource sharing method based on a mixed Gaussian model in order to improve the effect of educational resource sharing. Initially, the challenges of educational resource sharing are examined. Then, the basic sharing platform, consisting of the index layer, the computer basic education resource library, and the data layer, is designed. After collecting information about basic computer education resources to be shared, the education resources are clustered using the Gaussian mixture model and then configured based on the results of the clustering. Depending on the number of configuration factors, computer basic education resources can be shared in accordance with their design. The experimental results indicate that this method has high resource sharing efficiency, the ability to update resources in real time, and a good teacher and student evaluation system. Compared to traditional sharing methods, the proposed method has the benefits of a shorter sharing time and greater resource clustering precision.

Perceived influence of COVID-19 pandemic on university students' learning and mental health in Ethiopia

This study reports perceived influence of COVID-19 on students' learning and mental well-being. The data of 367 students were analysed using R. The linear regression model was fitted. A regression coefficient with 95% confidence interval (CI) was computed to identify factors associated with the perceived influence of COVID-19 on students' education and mental health. The mean ± standard deviation scores of perceived influence of COVID-19 on students' learning and communication for learning were 31.7 ± 6.7 and 21.6 ± 3.6, respectively. A similar number of students, 109 (29.7%) reported having depression and anxiety. Being a female student had a negative association with the effects of COVID-19 on learning, while being a rural resident had a strong positive association with both the effects of COVID-19 on learning and communication for learning. Similarly, being a social science student and in 2nd year of study were positively associated with higher history of depression and anxiety. Residing in zonal towns, district towns, and rural settings were found to have a lower prevalence of depression and anxiety. The COVID-19 placed a serious effect on students' education and mental well-being. Thus, the Ethiopian health and higher education sectors need to provide students with basic educational resources and counselling services.

Digital educational reading (on the example of the university library)

In the sphere of higher education electronic library systems (ELS) – external or internal, – acquired to the library collections, are the basic digital educational resources. Their qualitative characteristics are not normatively defined, but are related to similar characteristics of individual electronic documents.The predominant number of electronic EBS documents are derivative electronic publications that completely copy the printed analogue. The form and method of organizing the text of such documents does not take into account the specifi of scanning reading, which is characteristic of modern students. The importance of electronic resources in the information support of the educational process in universities necessitates the study of digital educational reading, which will increase their effectiveness. To test the hypothesis, starting from the 2021/2022 academic year at the Bashkir Institute of Physical Culture (Bashkortostan, Ufa), the study is being conducted among full-time and part-time students, the purpose of which is to compare the effectiveness of reading educational printed and electronic publications. Quantitative research methods are indicators “reading time” and “number of keywords”. Writing abstracts has become a qualitative indicator for to study the reading comprehension. Up to 01.03.2022, 73 students took part in the study. The analysis of the results showed that the speed of reading electronic texts is higher if compared to reading printed publications. But the indicators of meaningful perception are higher among students reading printed text. The purpose of the article is to present the results of the research that may be taken into account and will become useful when organizing the educational process.

The experience of designing a single information and educational environment of the university "NMU Digital"

The publication considers theoretical and practical approaches to the design and creation of a single information and educational environment of the Bogomolets National Medical University. The main factors that were taken into account in the development of information and educational environment of the university are identified and substantiated. The basic educational and methodical resources that ensure the functioning of the information and educational environment of modern Medical (Pharmaceutical) Higher Educational Establishment (M(P)HEE) are given. The peculiarities of the educational process at the university are analyzed and the scheme of interaction of the educational-methodical department with the faculties of the university is given.A model of information and educational environment of the Bogomolets National Medical University "NMU Digital". The list of works related to the educational process performed by the structural units of the university in the automated control system is highlighted. The main advantages of use and functionality of the automated control system, electronic document management system and distance learning platform are revealed and analyzed. The results of an online survey of research and teaching staff and students of different faculties on determining the level of digital orientation are analyzed.

A Spatial Supply-Demand Imbalance Between Rural Primary and Secondary Schools in Shaanxi Province Based on Road Network Analysis

It is of great significance to optimize the spatial matching of basic education facilities in rural areas and promote the equalization of urban and rural basic public services and the overall revitalization of rural areas. Based on the theory of spatial accessibility and spatial balance of supply and demand, this paper constructs the evaluation system of rural basic education facilities and layout rationality. In this study, we took 42 primary and secondary schools and 2089 rural areas with concentrated population in six township areas of Hancheng City as the research subjects. We used ArcGIS network analysis, population coupling model, and other methods, from the administrative scale and rural population concentration area scale for evaluation. The accessibility of basic education facilities and its coupling relationship with the spatial distribution of student population describe the spatial and geographical pattern of basic education facilities in rural areas. The results show that the accessibility of rural administrative scale and the spatial balance of supply and demand of population concentration area scale are associated with great problems, the differences between towns are obvious, and the overall level of the best performing towns is still low. On the scale of population concentration area, the overall coupling degree is too low, the “dislocation” distribution of educational facilities and student population is obvious, and the matching degree of the student population and school in different towns is significantly different, showing a more obvious “core-periphery” spatial structure characteristics centered on the eastern and southeast regions. The terrain characteristics of rural areas in Shaanxi province are prominent, and the accessibility of the road network is particularly significant. Therefore, optimizing the construction of rural roads and optimizing school layout according to local conditions will become an important solution to promote the balanced allocation of basic education resources in Shaanxi province.

Beyond vulnerability and adversities: Amazigh women’s agency and empowerment in Morocco

ABSTRACT Amazigh women in Morocco have traditionally suffered triple marginalisation: as women, indigenous and rural. The language and geography of the Atlas Mountains where they live have also made it difficult for them to access the most basic educational and health-care resources. That is why Amazigh women are often represented in many studies as ‘illiterate’ and ‘in need of help’. But a careful examination of the history and the daily reality of Amazigh women reveals another side of the Amazigh women’s story that has yet to be told and on which we wish to shed light in this article. We will focus on the agency and resilience of Amazigh women and how they transform their daily reality and vulnerabilities into opportunities that empower them, their families and communities. Through their knowledge and practices, Amazigh women contribute as active agents of civil society, caring not only for the well-being of their own families, but for the development of their community and the legacy of their culture. We provide clear examples of how these women contribute to the local economy and rural development by organising and working in cooperatives dedicated to carpet weaving, argan oil production and arts and crafts. Culture and tradition, reclaimed and preserved by women, emerge as a source of recognition of Amazigh identity, of local community development and of feminist empowerment.
