Cross sections for charmed baryon pair production near threshold in e +e − annihilation are calculated using pole-dominated form factors modified to take intoccount continuum effects. When the C 0 + C 0 − production cross section is normalized with the help of data for e + e − → pX it is found that the total charmed baryon production cross ( C 0 C 0, C 1 C 1, C 1 C 1 ∗ + C 1 ∗ C 1, C 1 ∗ C 1 ∗) reaches a peak value of approximately 2.7 nb at √ s = 5 GeV.
