The challenge that does not often encounter in the use of Internet media is one less stable and less balanced network, for maximum increase and no less evenly between the user. So for the development of PT. Garindo Sakti Jaya requires network traffic management with features help with service quality (QoS). These problems can be predicted by using the router's features and access points. This research methodology using Mikrotik wireless bandwidth management i.e. a mechanism that allows users to use wireless clients optimally. Steps can be made to be able to produce maximum security and bandwidth analysis and testing can be done on the performance management of bandwidth by how to use the Mikrotik wireless router and the access point is Mikrotik router and access the pool point links. There are some parameters made in this study, among other things: the troughput parameter, the parameters and the parameter delays, loss of packages. Based on research that has been done using Mikrotik router generating applications that can satisfy the share of bandwidth and a fairly good WiFi manager on the client side or end user.

Computer Network Management Using a Mikrotik Router at the Immigration Office Class I TPI Bengkulu City

With the implementation of bandwidth management, it can help distribute bandwidth evenly throughout the Client PC. Based on the tests conducted at the Immigration Office Class I TPI Bengkulu city, it can be concluded that the implementation of bandwidth management has been successful, where PC Clients can access the internet evenly, and the use of internet access is more scheduled during working hours, rest hours, and outside working hours.

Virtualized High Throughput Satellite Gateway with a Global Bandwidth Management Method

With the development of new satellite payload technology, in order to improve the utilization of system resources, research is based on software-defined network (SDN) and network function virtualization (NFV) gateway architecture. Based on this architecture, the system realizes global resource management and overall data distribution, which can solve the problem of resource allocation and maximum/minimum rate guarantee between different VNO terminals under different beams, different gateways, and different satellites. For this, a global bandwidth management method can be used which is mainly a process of management to control the traffic on a communication link. The proposed global resource management and control method can be based on the rate guarantee value of the VNO/terminal configured in the system as the basic limiting condition and reallocate the rate guarantee value limiting parameter according to the resource application status of the online terminal. The method can maximize the resource utilization of the entire satellite communication system and satisfy the resource request of the user terminal as much as possible.

Internet is one of the most important needs in human life. The need for the internet is increasingly crowded, making the world of education in Indonesia very enthusiastic about using it as a means of learning and learning. Balanced resource allocation for VNF service chain provisioning in inter-datacenter elastic optical networks

Network Function Virtualization (NFV) is a novel technology that enables flexible and cost-effective network services by replacing the hardware-based middleboxes with software instances named virtual network functions (VNFs). In NFV, each requested Service Function Chain (SFC) is an ordered sequence of VNFs that must be placed optimally on the geographically distributed data centers (DCs). For the popular Elastic Optical Networks (EONs) with flexible bandwidth management, a major challenge is optimal placement of the VNF-based Service Chain (VNF-SC) on data centers and steering traffic through deployed VNFs in the substrate network. In this paper, we study both the problems of VNF placement and Routing/Spectrum Allocation (RSA) for inter-DC EONs with the aim of minimizing the total network cost while considering the balanced resource utilization to reduce the blocking probability. We first formulate the problem as an Integer Linear Programming (ILP) to solve the problem exactly, and then propose a heuristic algorithm based on the resource-balancing and fragmentation-aware solution to reduce the blocking probability. The simulation results verify that the proposed algorithm outperforms an existing algorithm.

The Design and Implementation of Internet-Based Wireless Lan (WLAN) at Rawa Makmur Permai Urban Village Office

This study aims to build an internet-based Wireless LAN (WLAN) at the Rawa Makmur Permai Urban Village Office, implement bandwidth and firewall management as a security system on the WLAN network, and observe the use of internet-based WLAN networks at the Rawa Makmur Permai Urban Village Office.This study uses the Development Life Cyle (NDLC) method which is a method that can be used in the network development process that allows network monitoring to determine network statistics and performance. The results of the performance analysis will later be taken into consideration in the design of network designs, both physical network designs or logical networks. The results of this study indicate that a WLAN network using a MikroTik router and implementing bandwidth management, firewalls and captive portals can optimize network usage, because by implementing bandwidth management it can distribute bandwidth evenly to clients according to their network access needs, the firewall itself can be used as a site access filtering system which in this study the author can apply to block the youtube.com site and make it a captive portal access.

The Effect Of Queue Tree On Packet Loss In Bandwitch Management Online Based School Exam

Unequal bandwidth distribution between clients that are used for online tests will cause the quality connection among clients to differ. Especially when some client dominates the bandwidth. Using Queue Tree bandwidth management with the type of Per Connection Queue (PCQ) the distribution of bandwidth can be done evenly among clients. The implementation of PCQ Queue Tree is able to reduce the length of ping time by 90% from 134 ms and 13 ms. Delay is decreased 47% from 17 ms to 9 ms with a very good category. Jitter decreased 41% from 17 ms to 7 ms with a very good category. Throughput increased 53% from 234.582 Kbps to 503.584 Kbps in the medium category. Meanwhile, in the packet loss parameter, there is no difference in conditions before and after the implementation of PCQ Queue Tree because there is no packet loss during the test, which means packet loss condition is in the very good category.

Bukit Energi Servis Terpadu (BEST) is a company engaged in Operation & Maintenance (O&M) services which are members of the PT group. Bukit Asam Tbk. PT. Bukit Energi Servis Terpadu (BEST) already has a computer network in the form of adequate wired and wireless networks and has been connected to the internet. The bandwidth used for the scope of the office uses a bandwidth of 30 Mbps, but the problem of internet speed is not maximized where there is download activity and video streaming which causes the internet bandwidth in the office to be slow, thus affecting the activities of employees who are accessing the internet in the office either through wired networks and wireless internet hotspots. The results of the measurement of packet loss parameters (%) after Bandwidth Management with HTB is better, namely 0.12 % while before Bandwidth Management with HTB is carried out with a value of 0.52 %. The results of measuring the throughput parameters before using Bandwidth Management with HTB where the use of throughput after using Management Bandwidth with HTB obtained results of 624.9 kbps while the throughput before Bandwidth Management was carried out was 624.4 kbps. By limiting bandwidth using the Hierarchical Token Bucket (HTB) facility, bandwidth can be divided into certain sections or prioritized for those who need higher internet speeds, while those that do not require an internet connection are provided with a small speed.

Bandwidth management for clients connected to the internet network is needed in the upload and download process. In this study used additional devices in the form of a mikrotik router and research sites at the Faculty of Engineering UNISKA, Kediri. The study discusses Quality of Service (QoS) with 4 indicators, namely throughput, packet loss, delay, and jitter. The results showed that the speedtest application bandwidth did not exceed the specified limit. And in the wireshark application, it is shown that the calculation of QoS throughput for each user is not more than 100 Kbps, then the standard parameters according to TIPHON are categorized as "BAD" with an index of "0". In the QoS packet loss, each user gets a value of 0, then the standard parameters according to TIPHON are categorized as "PERFECT" with the index "4". In the QoS delay, each user gets a value less than 100 s, then the standard parameters according to TIPHON are categorized as "PERFECT" with the index "4". And on the QoS jitter of each user, the value is below the number 1, then the standard parameters according to TIPHON are categorized as "GOOD" with an index of "3".

Even though there are internet cafes that have been established, it is still not efficient for the cost and time of internet users in the area. The purpose of this study is to save bandwidth rental costs per month for unlimited connections, provide stable internet connections that can be used for 24 hours, provide data transfer with bandwidth management, thus guaranteeing the quality of internet connections. The system development method used is Prototyping whose stages include identifying user needs, making a prototype, user approval, and using a prototype. As a server, using Mikrotik Os where in Mikrotik Os there are several important and interesting features provided by Mikrotik itself, among these features are bandwidth management, firewall, DNS client caching, and many other features provided by Mikrotik. With this Mikrotik provides stable internet data transfer in accordance with the management of Mikrotik Os as a server. The client uses a windows-based operating system, this is because the tool drivers used are more compatible with the windows operating system compared to using a linux-based operating system, because they have to compile drivers.

With Mikrotik router and winbox tools, it is very easy to set and manage bandwidth on each client computer. In the winbox tool, you can set the desired bandwidth distribution. However, the maximum bandwidth limit cannot exceed the maximum limit provided by the internet network provider. After implementing bandwidth management using the token bucket hierarchy, the bandwidth distribution on each client computer can be adjusted as needed. And it won't happen again that one client can get more bandwidth while another client gets less bandwidth. So it can be concluded that the application of this method is very effective. Toward an Adaptive Threshold on Cooperative Bandwidth Management Based on Hierarchical Reinforcement Learning.

With the increase in Internet of Things (IoT) devices and network communications, but with less bandwidth growth, the resulting constraints must be overcome. Due to the network complexity and uncertainty of emergency distribution parameters in smart environments, using predetermined rules seems illogical. Reinforcement learning (RL), as a powerful machine learning approach, can handle such smart environments without a trainer or supervisor. Recently, we worked on bandwidth management in a smart environment with several fog fragments using limited shared bandwidth, where IoT devices may experience uncertain emergencies in terms of the time and sequence needed for more bandwidth for further higher-level communication. We introduced fog fragment cooperation using an RL approach under a predefined fixed threshold constraint. In this study, we promote this approach by removing the fixed level of restriction of the threshold through hierarchical reinforcement learning (HRL) and completing the cooperation qualification. At the first learning hierarchy level of the proposed approach, the best threshold level is learned over time, and the final results are used by the second learning hierarchy level, where the fog node learns the best device for helping an emergency device by temporarily lending the bandwidth. Although equipping the method to the adaptive threshold and restricting fog fragment cooperation make the learning procedure more difficult, the HRL approach increases the method’s efficiency in terms of time and performance.

Dynamic Bandwidth Allocation for Internet of Things System Using Elastic Wireless Local Area Network

Rapid technological development, triggering various applications development that are increasingly innovative. One of them is the Internet of Things (IoT) system that makes human works easier and more effective. Along with sensor technology development in monitoring and controlling through IoT systems, a mechanism is needed to manage bandwidth so that IoT system can function optimally, especially in buildings designated as public areas. Smart building supported by various integrated sensors to maintain safety and comfort in the area. This study proposes the application of Elastic WLAN as a model for dynamic bandwidth management in IoT systems. In this model, IoT bandwidth changes automatically according to the number of traffic measurements for each IoT connected to the network As an effort to determine the performance of the elastic WLAN mechanism, this study succeeded in developing a prototype IoT device that implements Elastic WLAN on an Access-Point Raspberry Pi by using two temperature sensors placed in separate locations. The system successfully allocates bandwidth to each IoT according to the amount of data input from each temperature sensor installed. The higher the amount of data captured by the sensor, the system will automatically allocate the higher bandwidth to the sensor system, and vice versa.

The purpose of this study is to implement a web proxy and bandwidth management, so that the bandwidth is evenly distributed, therefore it is necessary to divide the bandwidth using a proxy routerboard, the method used for bandwidth distribution is using the simple queue method. By implementing a web proxy, it can control internet usage and block website sites that have the potential to interfere with employee performance, by making bandwidth management able to limit bandwidth usage and share bandwidth equally on each client, so internet access is now running more stable.

SDN Based Management Platform for Intranet Services

Telecom operators experience difficulties in applications such as virtual local area network (VLAN) management, bandwidth management and access management while providing intranet services in traditional networks. In this study, open network operating system (ONOS) based software defined network (SDN) platform is developed for intranet services in order to address these problems. The developed platform has been integrated onto an existing network and a new topology has been created. In this proposed topology, intranet network elements are connected to the new generation SDN switches instead of the legacy switches. The proposed solution has been tested on a live network. According to test results where the proposed SDN platform is compared with the traditional intranet network in a live network scenario under varying traffic load, the SDN based platform achieved very successful results in terms of latency, jitter, packet loss and flow setup times. Overall, the proposed SDN platform provides a good alternative to traditional solutions in large scale intranet networks, minimizing the workload spent by the operators in controlling the network, while achieving cost savings and eliminating vendor dependency.

Supervised machine learning for power and bandwidth management in very high throughput satellite systems

SummaryIn the near future, very high throughput satellite (VHTS) systems are expected to have a high increase in traffic demand. However, this increase will not be uniform over the service area and will be also dynamic. A solution to this problem is given by flexible payload architectures; however, they require that resource management is performed autonomously and with low latency. In this paper, we propose the use of supervised machine learning, in particular a classification algorithm using a neural network, to manage the resources available in flexible payload architectures. Use cases are presented to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed approach, and a discussion is made on all the challenges that are presented.

An LSTM‐based cell association scheme for proactive bandwidth management in 5G fog radio access networks

SummaryCellular networks are evolving into dynamic, dense, and heterogeneous networks to meet the unprecedented traffic demands which introduced new challenges for cell resource management. To address this, various cell association schemes have been proposed. However, the current schemes ignore users' mobility information, and as a result, their cell admission and bandwidth allocation policy are reactive. In order to enable proactive bandwidth management in emerging 5G fog access radio networks (FRANs), we proposed a novel mobility‐aware cell association scheme (MACA) that exploits user's mobility and downlink rate demand information to associate it with the maximum rate offering cell. In MACA, the mobility prediction model consists of long‐short‐term memory (LSTM)‐based neural network that considers joint information of unique cell identification numbers with the corresponding sojourn times and predicts the user's most probable next cell. Later, the underlying future cell assignment is formulated as a convex problem and solved using the Lagrangian dual decomposition method and compared the proposed framework performance with Semi‐Markov, deep neural network (DNN), and MaxRSRP‐based cell association approaches in terms of the next cell prediction accuracy, the impact of downlink rate allocation, and user satisfaction percentage. MACA scheme is trained using two publicly available pedestrian datasets. Simulation results show that the proposed scheme performs significantly better than the other schemes and yields the average next cell prediction accuracy of 93.42%, 1.63 times higher downlink rates, and 56.8%users satisfied with the allocated bandwidth.
