Solid-supported sulfonic acid-containing catalysts efficiently promoted one-pot multi-component synthesis of β-acetamido carbonyl compounds

Silica-functionalized sulfonic acid (SFSA) and sulfuric acid-modified polyethylene glycol-6000 (PEG-OSO3H) efficiently catalysed one-pot multi-component condensation of enolizable ketones or alkyl acetoacetates with arylaldehydes, acetonitrile and acetyl chloride to afford the corresponding β-acetamido ketone or ester derivatives in high to excellent yields and in relatively short reaction times. Moreover, in this work, some novel β-acetamido carbonyl compounds (i.e., one complex structure) are synthesized. Silica-functionalized sulfonic acid (SFSA) and sulfuric acid-modified polyethylene glycol-6000 (PEG-OSO3H) efficiently catalysed one-pot multicomponent synthesis of β-acetamido ketone or ester derivatives in good to excellent yields and in relatively short reaction times.

Trifluoromethanesulfonic acid promoted Dakin–West reaction: An efficient and convenient synthesis of β-acetamido ketones

Trifluoromethanesulfonic acid promoted efficient condensation of an aromatic aldehyde with an acetophenone and acetonitrile in the presence of acetylchloride as an activator producing β-acetamido carbonyl compounds is described. β-Acetamido carbonyls were synthesized by triflic acid promoted Dakin-West reaction of aryl aldehydes, aryl ketones and acetonitrile.

One-pot three-component synthesis of β-acetamido carbonyl compounds catalyzed by heteropoly acids

A simple one-pot method for a new Mannich-type reaction is reported. In this method a heteropoly acid is used as a catalyst for the synthesis of β-acetamido carbonyl compounds via a three-component reaction of an aldehyde, acetamide, and dimedone in acetonitrile at room temperature. This method offers several advantages such as good yields, simple procedure, low cost, and ease of workup.

CuSO4 · 5H2O: A Novel, Green, Reusable, and Environmentally Friendly Catalyst for the One-Pot, Four-Component Synthesis of β-Acetamido Carbonyl Compounds

Multicomponent reactions for the synthesis of β-acetamido carbonyl compounds have been gained considerable attention in organic synthesis. In this articles, aromatic aldehydes have been employed in a one-pot reaction with enolizable ketones, acetonitrile, benzonitrile, and acetyl chloride in the presence of copper(II) sulfate petahydrate at ambient temperature to afford the corresponding β-acetamido ketones in very good yields. New compounds are reported. The use of readily available copper(II) sulfate petahydrate as a reusable and recyclable catalyst makes this process quite simple, convenient, and environmentally friendly.

PMA/SiO2: An Efficient and Reusable Heterogeneous Catalyst for the Synthesis of β-Acetamidocarbonyl Compounds by Multicomponent Reaction

Phosphomolybdic acid supported on silica (PMA/SiO2) has been used as an efficient heterogeneous catalyst for the preparation of β-acetamidoketones and esters in good yields. The reaction conditions are mild, and the catalyst can be recycled.

Cerium(IV) sulfate catalyzed simple and convenient synthesis of β-acetamidocarbonyl compounds

A simple and convenient protocol for the synthesis of β-acetamido ketones has been described by one-pot three-component reaction of aromatic aldehydes and enolizable ketones or β-keto esters and acetonitrile using cerium(IV) sulfate as a catalyst. The present methodology offers several advantages such as excellent yields, non hazardous reaction condition and short reaction times.

Fe(ClO4)3· 6H2O: a mild and efficient catalyst for one-pot three component synthesis of β-acetamido carbonyl compounds under solvent-free conditions

A one-pot multi-component reaction for the synthesis of beta-acetamido carbonyl compounds is reported. The reaction uses a variety of aldehydes, acetophenone derivatives or methyl acetoacetate, acetonitrile, and acetyl chloride in the presence of ferric perchlorate, a mild, efficient and inexpensive catalyst effective under solvent free conditions.

Facile and diastereoselective synthesis of β-acetamido ketones and keto esters via direct Mannich-type reaction

A Mannich-type three-component reaction involving aldehydes, acetamide, and enolizable ketones or β-keto esters for the preparation of β-acetamido carbonyl compounds in the presence of TMSCl is described. This newly developed protocol is operationally convenient, widely applicable, and highly diastereoselective.

Reduction in post-prandial hyperglycemic excursion through α-glucosidase inhibition by β-acetamido carbonyl compounds

A series of β-acetamido carbonyl compounds ( S 1– S 7) were prepared using Dakin-West reaction from different substituted aldehyde and acetophenone in the presence of lanthanum triflate as a solid catalyst. All the compounds were tested for their α-glucosidase inhibitory potential against rat intestinal α-glucosidase. The most potent rat intestinal α-glucosidase inhibitors S 5 and S 7 were tested for their antihyperglycemic activity following carbohydrate tolerance test. Both the compounds displayed antihyperglycemic activity equivalent to the standard drug acarbose.
