Microcomputer model AS/RS

Automated storage/retrieval systems (AS/RS) are being installed at an increasing rate as companies are striving to reduce material handling and inventory costs. In addition, microcomputers are being installed into more and more devices. This paper describes a model AS/RS controlled by a microcomputer that was built by an industrial engineering student: it is used to illustrate the concepts of applying AS/RS and microcomputer technology.
