Mapping the Terrain of Open Innovation in Consumer Research: Insights and Directions from Bibliometrics

Mapping the Landscape of Open Innovation in Consumer Research: Insights and Directions from Bibliometrics examines how publications in the fields of consumer behavior research (Cons) and open innovation (OI) have developed over time. Terms that frequently appear together are explored to elucidate potential future research directions and thematic areas that influence academic writing. Bibliometric maps are created using VOSviewer v1.6.19, and 184 publications are analyzed using high-quality metadata and citation information from the Scopus database. The findings highlight patterns in publications, networks of citations, dynamics in collaboration, and future directions for Open Innovation and Consumer research. Co-word analysis is applied to extract data, and publication density analysis is used to identify popular terms. Eighty-two authors are represented in the dataset, and author collaborations are highlighted through co-citation analysis. The study concludes by outlining potential directions for future research based on component-based, keyword, and publication analyses.

Relational hyperevent models for the coevolution of coauthoring and citation networks

Abstract The development of appropriate statistical models has lagged behind the ambitions of empirical studies analysing large scientific networks—systems of publications connected by citations and authorship. Extant research typically focuses on either paper citation networks or author collaboration networks. However, these networks involve both direct relationships, as well as broader dependencies between references linked by multiple citation paths. In this work, we extend recently developed relational hyperevent models to analyse networks characterized by complex dependencies across multiple network modes. We introduce new covariates to represent theoretically relevant and empirically plausible mixed-mode network configurations. This model specification allows testing hypotheses that recognize the polyadic nature of publication data, while accounting for multiple dependencies linking authors and references of current and prior papers. We implement the model using open-source software to analyse publicly available data on a large scientific network. Our findings reveal a tendency for subsets of papers to be cocited, indicating that the impact of these papers may be partly due to endogenous network processes. More broadly, the analysis shows that models accounting for both the hyperedge structure of publication events and the interconnections between authors and references significantly enhance our understanding of the mechanisms driving scientific production and impact.

Bibliometric analysis reveals the research hotspots and trends of nasopharyngeal carcinoma immunotherapy.

Immunotherapy is a promising strategy for nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC), a common and aggressive malignancy with poor prognosis. However, the literature lacks a comprehensive and objective overview of the current research status and trends of immunotherapy-related fields in NPC. We performed a bibliometric analysis of 513 original articles and reviews in English on immunotherapy for NPC from the Web of Science Core Collection database, using CiteSpace and Bibliometrix software tools. We visualized the development trend of publications, the distribution of countries/regions, the co-occurrence of keywords, the collaboration and citation of authors, the citation of journals, the evolution of topics, and the thematic map. We found that the publication volume increased sharply after 2017, with China as the main contributor and leader, the US as an important partner, and the Netherlands as a potential innovator. The research focused on immune checkpoint inhibitors and cell therapy, which were also the hotspots of clinical trials. Tumor microenvironment, immune infiltration, multicenter studies, and novel immunotherapy were the frontier topics and the key challenges for future research. CD137l-DC, lymphoma, and chimeric antigen receptor were emerging topics with good prospects. Our study provides a valuable insight into the research status and trends of immunotherapy for NPC, which may guide future research directions and clinical applications.

Literature survey and analysis of phytoremediation strategies for Cs-137 decontamination

Phytoremediation has become a sustainable solution for mitigating cesium-137 (Cs-137) contamination and has been implemented in areas affected by the Chernobyl and Fukushima nuclear disasters. Despite the absence of nuclear power plants in Indonesia, incidents of Cs-137 contamination have been reported in Batan Indah Housing Complex, emphasizing the need for effective decontamination techniques. The aim of this study was to analyze the bibliometric characteristics of research works on phytoremediation in addressing Cs-137 contamination during the last ten years (2013–2022) by foreign and Indonesian authors. This research is important both globally and in specific contexts, such as Indonesia, particularly in the context of policy and practical applications. For example, when facing issues like Cs-137 decontamination in the BATAN Indah area, the research can have local relevance and contribute to solving immediate problems. This study utilized the Scopus database and retrieved 2,123 article titles within this topic over the last decade. Several indicators were used to examine the publications: productivity of authors, collaboration between countries, top-cited articles, keywords analysis, and publication trends. The results show that the number of publications fluctuated over previous decade with an average publications age of 5.54 years. Onda Y from the University of Tsukuba, Tsukuba, Japan become the most prolific and collaborative author. Japan being the most productive and collaborative country, while Indonesia ranked 42nd with only 9 publications regarding the topics. The bibliometric analysis provides a foundation for understanding the development of science on this topic and uncovers that there is still plenty of space to conduct phytoremediation research in Indonesia, especially for Cs-137 contaminated soils, which have increased over the years.

A bibliometric analysis of studies conducted over the last 10 years on cardiovascular disease risk identification and prevention in primary care

Objective: This bibliometric analysis was conducted to determine the trends of studies on cardiovascular disease risk identification and prevention in primary care from 2013 to 2024 and visualize the latest developments. Methods: The data were collected in February-March 2024 from the database “Web of Science Core Collection,” the analysis was carried out using the VOSviewer program. The change in the number of publications of the published articles by year, author, country, and institution citation analyses, country, institution, and author collaboration analyses, journal and author co-citation analyses, and keyword analyses were evaluated. Results: Five hundred and ninety-two authors from 64 countries and 377 institutions contributed to 443 studies published in 80 journals between 2013 and 2024 on determining and preventing cardiovascular disease risk in primary care. "BMC Family Practice" was the journal in which most articles were published, and "Circulation" was the most cited. The first three countries that support published articles most are the United States, England, and Australia. Focusing on the topics "blood-pressure control", "coronary-artery calcium", "physician-pharmacist collaboration", "low-density lipoprotein cholesterol", "health-risk assessment", "pollution", "primary care", "coronary heart disease", "prevention", "cardiovascular disease" and "mortality" will help fill the gap in the field. Conclusions: This bibliometric analysis has shown increasing interest in studies related to cardiovascular disease risk and prevention in primary care. Primary prevention guidelines are important resources in addressing risk factors. Global collaborations and long-term studies are necessary in this field, led by developed countries with a high disease burden.

Evolution of antimicrobial stewardship in pneumonia management: A comprehensive bibliometric analysis

AbstractObjectivesThis comprehensive bibliometric analysis explores the evolving trends in antimicrobial stewardship programs for enhancing treatment and diagnostics of pneumonia from 2006 to 2023.Materials and methodsThis research included a performance analysis and science mapping using RStudio v.4.3.1 and the bibliometric R‐package, with a data analysis conducted using Biblioshiny and Scopus. The study identified publication trends, prolific journals, leading institutions and authors, collaboration patterns, and keyword frequencies.ResultsThe study, based on 789 relevant studies from 287 sources, reveals a substantial increase in publications, collaborative authorship, and citations, with an average of 14.37 citations per document. The Annual Growth Rate for this research domain exhibits a steady increase of 30.13%, emphasizing the expanding scope of research output. Twelve key journals are identified using Bradford's Law with “Antibiotics” being the most prolific, contributing 6.5% of the total articles during the study period. Leading institutions in this research domain include the All‐India Institute of Medical Sciences and the University of Cape Town, each with 21 articles, reflecting their commitment. Dr. S.E. Cosgrove emerges as a key author with eight contributions, followed by other influential contributors. The United States leads in the number of publications, with Italy and Spain following closely. The analysis reveals a concentration of research output in high‐income countries, raising questions about accessibility and research capabilities in lower‐income nations. Addressing these disparities is crucial for comprehensive global strategies in pneumonia management. The study acknowledges limitations, such as database selection and language bias.ConclusionThe research trends in antimicrobial stewardship for pneumonia treatment and diagnostics demonstrate a global increase in scholarly output. These findings provide valuable insights into collaborative networks, influential authors, leading institutions, and emerging topics.

Environmental Economics Research From 1972 – 2022: Trends and Implications for The Future

This research is a qualitative study based on systematic analysis of the articles on environmental economics via the bibliometric analysis using the R programming language. Thus, this study analyzed articles using environmental economics in journals in scopus database. 384 articles, which was published in 1972 – 2022 and included ‘environmental economics research’ in the article title were analyzed as a whole. This analysis was the bibliometric analysis using the R programming language. At the same time, content analysis was used to show the relationships between the subdomains of the studies using environmental economics and the development of network, author collaboration. The study results in a discussion about the use of environmental economics on the part of future studies.

Knowledge Mapping of the Development Trend of Smart Fisheries in China: A Bibliometric Analysis

In recent years, smart fisheries, as an emerging model for fishery development, have become a research hotspot in the fishery and aquaculture industries of many countries. Smart fisheries can be thought of as a system that combines techniques for raising, catching, or selling aquatic products to improve production and sustainable development. Smart fisheries are crucial to improving fishery and aquaculture management. In this study, a comprehensive analysis was conducted using bibliometric analysis, the results of which are presented through visual mapping and data charts. This study collected data from the China National Knowledge Infrastructure (CNKI) database and compared it with the WoS database. A total of 949 articles were retrieved on topics related to smart fisheries, including 579 articles from WoS and 370 articles from CNKI. The results present the visualization and analysis of annual publications, author collaboration maps, research collaboration institutions, keywords, etc. The development of smart fisheries in China is obviously different from that in foreign countries. China attaches great importance to technology and production, while foreign countries focus on environmental issues. Therefore, this study helps us to understand the current research status, research hotspots, and future development directions of smart fisheries, providing certain references for future management.

Dynamics of Conflict Management Research in the Public and Private Sectors: A Bibliometric Analysis

This bibliometric analysis explores the evolving landscape of conflict management research across various dimensions, including thematic clusters, research trends, emerging opportunities, and author collaborations. Utilizing VOSviewer for visual mapping, the study identifies key themes such as leadership styles, resolution processes, and personal traits like gender and professional roles that dominate the discourse. A longitudinal analysis from 2002 to 2010 highlights a pivotal shift from foundational conflict management concepts towards addressing broader societal impacts and understanding the economic ramifications of conflict. Opportunities for future research were pinpointed in underexplored areas such as ethnic conflicts, the costs associated with conflict, and the roles of power in achieving peace. The author collaboration network, though sparse, reveals central figures that could drive further interdisciplinary studies. This study not only maps the current state of conflict management research but also sets the stage for future explorations that could bridge theoretical gaps and enhance practical applications.

A Decade of Literature Roadmap on Religious Tolerance Education: A Bibliometric Study Using the Scopus Database

In multi-religious countries, integrating tolerance education into the curriculum, particularly religious tolerance, is essential to fostering a mindset of tolerance and encouraging harmony amidst diversity. To achieve this, it is necessary to review research development on religious tolerance education conducted by academics from various countries. Therefore, this study aimed to investigate the research development on religious tolerance education in Scopus-indexed journals over the last decade through a bibliometric study. This study carried out in four stages, including searching for articles in the Scopus database, filtering, validating metadata, and analyzing bibliometrics with the help of VOSviewer. The results of this bibliometric study present seven main findings, as follows: The publication trend on tolerance topics increased from 2013 to 2022; Indonesia emerged as the leading contributor to publications on religious tolerance; The United Kingdom had the highest number of cited publications in the citation analysis; authors commonly used six terms related to religious tolerance in titles; author collaboration was prominent among only three authors, keyword analysis identified 16 dominant terms, and abstract analysis mapped 5,219 terms into five clusters. To conclude, there is still an opportunity to develop research related to religious tolerance education in the context of multiculturalism, character education, and learning methods or models, in primary, secondary, and tertiary education, in addition to cross- disciplinary and cross-country author collaboration. This study contributes to providing a comprehensive overview of research in the field of education related to the topic of religious tolerance in Scopus-indexed journals in the last decade.

A Bibliometric Review of the Relationship between Sustainability Accounting and Financial Risk

This study conducts a comprehensive bibliometric analysis of the field of sustainability accounting and financial risk management, examining thematic clusters, research trends, research opportunities, and author collaborations from 1990 to 2024. Through an extensive review of literature and citation data, key thematic areas such as integrated reporting, environmental risk, and the financial impact of ESG factors were identified. Temporal trend analysis revealed an increasing focus on transparency in sustainability disclosures and the integration of corporate social responsibility into corporate risk management. Opportunities for further research were highlighted in underexplored areas including green accounting and the incorporation of non-financial risks into financial sustainability frameworks. Additionally, an examination of author networks provided insight into the collaborative dynamics among leading scholars, identifying core research groups and potential areas for new interdisciplinary studies. This study provides a structured overview of the scholarly landscape, identifying pivotal trends and gaps, thereby setting a foundation for future academic inquiries and practical applications in sustainability and financial risk management.

Bibliometric Analysis of Innovation and Economic Impact in Trends of Solar Energy Utilization in Agriculture

This paper presents a comprehensive analysis of thematic clusters, research trends, potential research opportunities, and author collaborations within the field of renewable energy and its impact on economic growth, using bibliometric visualizations generated by VOSviewer. We identified distinct thematic areas including renewable technologies such as solar and wind energy, and broader themes like energy utilization and economic implications. Our trend analysis revealed a significant temporal shift from technology-centric studies to a broader examination of how renewable energy integrates with economic systems and impacts global economic policies. Further exploration of less explored areas suggested potential research opportunities in the direct economic impacts of renewable energy, its role in industrial processes, and sustainable tourism. The examination of author collaboration networks illuminated the collaborative structures within the academic community, highlighting the formation of research clusters based on shared interests and common research goals. These findings underscore the evolving nature of renewable energy research, revealing both current focuses and prospective areas for future investigation.

Bibliometric Analysis of Studies on Child Abuse and Negligence

The aim of the research is to determine and analyze the research trends of studies on child abuse and neglect from a bibliometric perspective. The data of the study were obtained by using the SCOPUS database on 04.12.2022 without any year limitation. The research was searched using the keywords "child", "maltreatment", "abuse", "neglect", "violence" "physical abuse", "emotional abuse",. "sexual abuse", "physical neglect", "emotional neglect". As a result of the search, 97.703 studies were reached. 84.376 studies that were not related to the subject and included different disciplines were excluded. Within the scope of the study, 13.327 research articles covering psychology, social sciences and nursing disciplines were evaluated. VOSviewer, a mapping and visualization program, was used in the analysis of the data. It was determined that the most frequently used keywords related to the subject were “Child abuse” and “Child maltreatment”. It was determined that the countries, universities and journals with the highest number of publications were in Unites States (59.54%), and author collaborations were mostly made in the USA, England and Australia. However, it is predicted that the estimated number of studies will be 1407 in 2030. Bibliometric indicators show that studies on child abuse and neglect have increased considerably in recent years. In this context, distinguishing whether the factors causing the increase are related to increased awareness or abuse and neglect will guide the planning of protective preventive interventions.

Furthermore, the network analysis underscores the importance of author collaboration in expanding the multidisciplinary scope of HRM research. This study contributes to the understanding of HRM's dynamic evolution and outlines strategic directions for future research, ensuring HR practices align with technological advancements and organizational needs.

Utilizing data from VOSviewer, we analyzed thematic clusters, research trends, emerging topics, and author collaboration networks from a comprehensive dataset spanning several decades. Our findings reveal distinct thematic areas, including core marketing strategies, consumer behavior, corporate responsibility, and the critical evaluation of greenwashing practices. A temporal analysis indicates a shift in focus from traditional marketing tactics to nuanced understandings of consumer attitudes and the authenticity of environmental claims. Additionally, we identified potential research opportunities in underexplored areas such as green hotels and green markets, which could provide new insights into sector-specific sustainability practices. The author collaboration network analysis highlights a somewhat segmented academic community with opportunities for more interdisciplinary and integrative research efforts. This study not only charts the evolution and current state of green marketing research but also points to future directions that could bridge existing gaps and foster broader collaborative networks.

This study utilizes VOSviewer, a tool for constructing and visualizing bibliometric networks, to analyze the landscape of research within ecotourism and community development. Through a series of visualizations, we identified thematic clusters that encapsulate key focus areas such as community development, conservation efforts, economic impacts, and the integration of local culture and wisdom into sustainable tourism strategies. Our analysis further reveals how research trends have evolved from foundational to more specialized topics, particularly noting a marked focus on marine ecotourism and capacity building in recent years. Additionally, author collaboration patterns were examined to identify both prominent partnerships and potential gaps in collaborative research. The visualizations also highlighted underexplored areas that present new research opportunities, particularly in assessing the economic implications of ecotourism and developing capacity-building strategies. This comprehensive examination not only maps the current state of the field but also points towards future directions for research and collaboration.

This bibliometric study provides an in-depth analysis of the research landscape in children's rights over the past three decades, utilizing a variety of visualization tools to map out author collaborations, thematic clusters, research trends, and potential areas for future exploration. Through the analysis of key publication databases, this paper identifies robust networks of collaboration among authors and highlights predominant thematic areas such as child protection, legal frameworks, and the impacts of global health policies on children. The temporal analysis reveals a noticeable shift in research focus, from traditional protection measures to more contemporary issues such as digital safety and global policy initiatives. Furthermore, areas with less research concentration, including the integration of sports in rights promotion and the implications of digital advancements on children, are identified as potential opportunities for future studies. This study underscores the dynamic nature of children's rights research and its evolution in response to both enduring and emerging challenges affecting children globally.

This study utilizes bibliometric analysis to explore the landscape of biotechnology research from a comprehensive perspective, focusing on thematic clusters, research trends, research opportunities, and author collaboration networks. Through a series of visualizations created using VOSviewer, we identify four major thematic clusters: industrial applications, agricultural biotechnology, biotechnological processes, and commercial development. Our temporal analysis traces the progression from foundational research towards advanced applications and industry integration, occurring over the last two decades. The research opportunities identified include expanding studies in underrepresented areas like microalgae, biodiversity, and innovative biotechnological tools. Additionally, our analysis of author collaborations reveals diverse patterns, ranging from tight-knit groups to independent researchers, indicating varied collaborative dynamics. The findings provide a nuanced understanding of the evolution, current state, and emerging trends within biotechnology, offering valuable insights for future research directions and strategic industry applications.
