An analysis is made of the present experimental data on the fast photoneutron angular distribution from Bi 209. A sure indication of a conspicuous forward asymmetry is found that cannot be explained on the basis of any available theory. Some indications are given for a possible explanation of the asymmetric term. In appendix 2 some new data are given of the fast photoneutron angular distribution from Bi 209, obtained using the Al 27(n, α)Na 24 reaction as a detector.
