CURRICULUM AND PEDAGOGICAL DEVELOPMENT IN ELEMENTARY EDUCATION IN INDIA UNDER NEP 2020

The National Educational Policy (2020). is a policy formulated by the Government of India to reform the education system in India. It replaces the NEP 1986 in order to meet the educational requirements of the 21st Century. The NEP 2020 aims to make “India a global knowledge superpower”. It is the third major framework in the constitutional framework in the field of education. Unlike its former predecessor the National Educational Policy (2020) completely revamps the educational policy of 1986 and lays down a new foundational system of education among primary students by emphasising life skills along with education. The policy focuses on other aspects like multidisciplinary and holistic education, conceptual understanding, creative & critical thinking, multilingualism, and several other aspects of cognitive development.

Meningkatkan Kecerdasan Kinestetik pada Anak Usia Dini Melalui Outbound pada Siswa RA Al-Ghifary

This research begin from the importance of development that must be had in early childhood, namely aspects of cognitive development, motor development and language development, and social-emotional. The purpose of this study was to determine the increase in kinesthetic intelligence in early childhood using the outbound method. The research method used was Classroom Action Research (PTK) which was carried out through 2 cycles with each cycle of stages being Planning, Action, Observation and Reflection. The subjects of this study were RA Al-Ghifary Class B students for the 2022-2023 academic year, with a total of 25 students. Data collection was carried out using observation data and interviews and documentation. The results of the research show 1) Cycle I percentage is 60.6%, Cycle 2 reaches 87.8%, 2) children's kinesthetic intelligence can be increased by outbound methods such as carrying out coordinated body movements to train flexibility, balance and agility, then coordinate eye movements chief accomplices in imitating dance or gymnastics, performing physically according to the rules, skillfully using the right and left hands, carrying out personal hygiene activities. In addition, outbound games are outdoor activities whose purpose is to relax and unwind, with relatively light series of adventures and games.

Implementasi Program Belajar dari Rumah dan Identifikasi Learning Loss selama Pandemi: Studi Kasus pada R.A. di Daerah Terpencil

One of the impacts of the Covid-19 pandemic is learning that must be carried out at home. Learning loss is found in some learning from home due to the digital divide, especially in rural areas. The learning process is closely related to the cognitive development of children. This article aims to explain the implementation of the learning from the home program at the Raudhatul Athfal (RA) Institute, Aluh-Aluh District, Banjar Regency. In addition, this article also identifies aspects of the child's development of the home learning model. This research uses an exploratory case study method in 4 RA institutions, Aluh-Aluh District, Banjar Regency. The results showed that the three RA institutions carried out a learning program with the help of parents to carry out and submit the results of their child's learning evaluation to the institution every week. One other institution implements home visits by gathering students who have close home locations without differentiating their study groups. The evaluation format carried out in-home visits is more varied than others because teachers can meet children directly. Aspects of cognitive development are often stimulated while other aspects of development are left out.

The Effect of the Interaction between the two Infographic Types ‎and the Cognitive Style and their Impact on Developing the ‎Cognitive and Performance Aspects of Digital Graphics Design ‎Skills and Motivation towards them among Students of ‎Educational Technology at the University of Jeddah

The current research aims to investigate the effect of the interaction between the two types of infographics in terms of presentation and cognitive style in developing digital graphics design skills and motivation towards it among undergraduate students in the Department of Educational Technology, College of Education, University of Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. To achieve this, the experimental method was used and the study sample consisted of (109) students, who were divided into four experimental groups according to the cognitive style and the infographic technique used in education. The research reached a number of results. The most important of which are: the absence of statistically significant differences at the level (α < 0.05) of the interaction between the two types of infographics in terms of presentation (static, motion) and cognitive style (tolerance\ intolerance of ambiguity) in the development of cognitive aspects of digital graphic design skills and motivation towards it among students of Educational Technology in experimental groups at the University of Jeddah. In the light of the foregoing, the research presented a set of recommendations, most notably: the necessity of employing infographic technology in its static and motion patterns in teaching the digital graphics design course and other courses.

Early Childhood Tahfizh Education: Optimization the Aspects of Children's Development and Religious Soul of Children in the Golden Age

This study aims to describe tahfidz education in early childhood in terms of the perspective of the development and religious spirit of children during the golden age at the Markaz Tahfizh Balita (MARTABA) Al-Makki Pekanbaru. This type of research is qualitative research with a Case Study model. The informants of this research were teachers and students at MARTABA Al-Makki Pekanbaru. The data collection techniques use in-depth interviews (depth interviews) and observation. While the data analysis technique is done by data reduction, data display, and verification. In general, tahfizd learning activities are to form good habits from an early age that can form a religious spirit and stimulate developmental aspects in children. The tahfizd learning program at MARATABA Al-Makki Pekanbaru has facilitated aspects of early childhood development which include; aspects of internalizing moral and religious values, aspects of gross motor development, and aspects of fine motor development, aspects of language development, aspects of cognitive development, and aspects of social-emotional development. In addition to the aspects of psychological development above, the learning program also pays attention to adequate nutritional intake to stimulate children's development. Tahfizh learning is also able to optimize the development of children's religious spirit from an early age. For this reason, tahfidz learning activities for early childhood at MARTABA Al-Makki Pekanbaru can be an example of organizing a tahfidz program for early childhood.

REALISASI PROJECT BASED LEARNING PADA PEMBELAJARAN SOSIAL EMOSIONAL

Social-emotional learning uses project-based learning, with the theme of work and the sub-theme of fishermen with core fishing activities. The learning media I use are fish, buckets, water, plastic cups, paper, pencils, scissors, glue and objects in the classroom. In Masyithoh Kroya Kindergarten, teaching and learning activities use learning media that is adapted to the Basic Curriculum (KD) that has been determined from schools to facilitate teaching and learning activities in order to achieve the expected goals. In addition to using media, teaching and learning activities use a group learning model, where groups of children in one day play in one class which contains 4 activities as fulfillment of 6 aspects of the scope of development. The activities prepared are: aspects of the development of religious and moral values, aspects of motor physical development, aspects of cognitive development, aspects of emotional social development, aspects of language development and aspects of art development

ABCs and 123s: A large birth cohort study examining the role of the home learning environment in early cognitive development

The aim of this study was to examine the role of different types of home learning activities, such as reading, singing, painting, playing games, and letters and numbers (ABCs and 123 s), in the development of nonverbal reasoning skills in young children. Although much previous research has focused on the role of the home learning environment in the development of language and numeracy skills, few studies have explored other aspects of cognitive development such as nonverbal reasoning. The data were drawn from the Growing Up in Ireland study, a nationally representative longitudinal birth cohort study. We examined whether learning activities were associated with scores on standardized nonverbal reasoning and vocabulary tests of the British Ability Scales in a sample of 9793 3-year-old children. The regression models also controlled for other factors that potentially influence cognitive development such as the parent–child relationship and maternal education. The findings indicate that activities such as reading, games, and painting/drawing have a small but statistically significant association with nonverbal reasoning scores, as well as with vocabulary scores, even after controlling for other factors in the model. Teaching the alphabet or numbers did not make significant contributions to the model. The findings of the study highlight the importance of considering the role of different types of home learning activities, as well as other environmental factors, in different aspects of cognitive development. We consider the implications of the findings for theories of cognitive development and for supporting cognitive development in young children.

The Impact of the Two Infographics Types in Terms of Presentation on Developing the Cognitive and Performance Aspects of Digital Graphics Design Skills and Motivation Towards them among Students of Educational Technology at The University of Jeddah

The aim of this research is to reveal the effect of the interaction between the two types of Infographics in terms of presentation (static, motion) in developing digital graphics design skills and motivation towards it among undergraduate students in the Department of Educational Technology, College of Education, University of Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. To achieve this, the experimental method was used, and the research was applied to a sample of 109 students, who were divided into four experimental groups according to the infographic technique used in education. The study reached a number of results, the most important of which is the absence of statistically significant differences at the level (α < 0.05) between the two types of Infographics in terms of presentation method (static, motion) in the development of cognitive aspects and performance aspects of digital graphic design skills and motivation towards them among students of Educational Technology in experimental groups at the University of Jeddah. In addition, there were no statistically significant differences at the level (α < 0.05) between the two types of Infographics in terms of presentation (static, motion) in developing motivation towards digital graphics among students of Educational Technology in experimental groups at the University of Jeddah.  In light of these results, the research recommended the necessity of employing infographic technology in its fixed and mobile modes in teaching the digital graphics course and other courses, and in presenting the cognitive and performance structure of the course content to students, because of its significant impact on the development of performance and cognitive skills and raising the efficiency of education compared to traditional methods.

THE CONCEPT OF CHILDREN'S EDUCATION IN ISLAMIC PARENTING BOOK AND THEIR RELEVANCE WITH CHARACTER EDUCATION OF MI/SD AGES

Educational problems often occur at every level, including the elementary school level. Often found students who have bad morals, it reflects the occurrence of moral and ethical decadence. This happens because in learning only focus on the development of cognitive aspects, even though it must be balanced with the development of affective aspects. Efforts to overcome this are through the implementation of character education and optimizing it for elementary school age children. Educators can imitate the success of the Prophet Muhammad in educating. Therefore, researchers are interested in examining the book Islamic Parenting by Jamal Abdurrahman about the concept of education in children. The method used in this research is library research method using documentation data collection techniques. While the data analysis used is content analysis with data analysis model Milles and Huberman, the steps are data reduction, data presentation and conclusion/verification. The results showed that the concept of child education in the second stage (Age 4-10 years) and education in the third stage (Age 11-14 years) in the Islamic parenting book has relevance to character education for children aged (MI/SD), namely in terms of its integration with the curriculum or subject matter in MI/SD. Of the 10 character values, there are 9 character values that have relevance to character education. In addition, each class has relevance to the Islamic Parenting book.

Use of Manipulative Media as A Stimulation Of Ability To Understand The Concept of Early Children's Age

Every child has the right and needs for stimulation of his development. One of them is cognitive. Aspects of cognitive development can be stimulated through mathematics learning. But children can find it difficult to understand mathematical concepts because reasoning and logic are needed, whereas mathematical concepts are not concrete. For this reason, concrete media need to be used to demonstrate or illustrate the concept, the media are manipulative. The purpose of this study is to analyze articles and documents resulting from research on the use of manipulative media as a stimulation of the ability to recognize the concept of child numbers. Method: This research uses a literature review method. There are criteria in searching journals so that 20 journals are found to be analyzed based on population, sample, variables, data analysis, type of research design, and research results. Results and discussion: Literature review shows that the use of manipulative media in early childhood education varies greatly in terms of media material, its play, and its effectiveness. The manipulative media in question such as grain media, number blocks, clock puzzles, container marbles, picture cards, congklak numbers cards, numbers fishing games, and others. While the ability to recognize the concept of numbers in question such as the meaning of the symbol number of concepts a lot a little, counting, and others. Statistical analysis shows the application of manipulative media can stimulate the ability to recognize the concept of numbers in children, increase the activities of children and teachers, and found the response of children who are happy with the use of manipulative media. Conclusion: Manipulative media can stimulate the ability to recognize the concept of child numbers.

What We Talk about When We Talk about Rigor: Examining Conceptions of Academic Rigor

ABSTRACT Academic rigor has long been considered important for students’ learning and development in higher education. However, findings about students’ outcomes from previous studies of rigor are mixed, in part because of varying conceptions of what constitutes rigor. In quantitative research, rigor is often operationalized in one of two ways: through students’ workload in courses or through their instructors’ expectations for course learning in the form of cognitive challenge. This study employed data from a multi-institutional, longitudinal study of undergraduates in the United States to examine the relationship of both conceptions of rigor with students’ cognitive development, including their critical thinking skills and two measures of self-motivated learning (need for cognition and positive attitudes toward literacy). Workload was related to four-year growth in positive attitudes about reading and writing, while cognitive challenge was related to self-motivated learning in year one and all three aspects of cognitive development in year four. In particular, the amount of reading that students completed was the only measure of workload positively associated with outcomes, while both challenge in class and in exams and assignments played a role. These findings have implications for instructors, instructional developers, institutional leaders, and researchers in higher education.

CODE ATI: Sewing activities with various patterns affect the cognitive aspects of kindergarten children?

Cognitive abilities are needed by children in order to develop their knowledge of what they see, hear, taste, touch, or smell through their five senses. The purpose of this study is to the effect of sewing activities with various drawing patterns on aspects of cognitive development and creativity (CODE ATI) in group B children at Kindergarten Idhata Bucinri District. Pangkep, Kec. Pangkajene. The method used in this study was classroom action research (PTK) which was carried out in two cycles. Each cycle consists of planning, implementing, observing, and reflecting. The subjects of this study were group B children of TK Idhata Bucinri with a total of 17 children. The results of the study obtained data that in the first cycle the success in the development of children's creativity and cognition in sewing new patterns showed 53.7% of the predetermined target of 75%. In cycle II 79.1% of children were in the very well developed category. The development of children's creativity and cognition through sewing activities has reached 79.1% and exceeds the set target. These changes can be seen from the research cycle I to cycle II, which has increased by 26%.

IMPLEMENTASI 4 C DALAM PENDIDIKAN PANCASILA BERBASIS STEAM

21st century skills called 4Cs, in Indonesian can be remembered by the abbreviation 4K, namely creativity, critical, communication, cooperation. This is in line with Bloom's theory that creativity is the highest ability in the aspect of cognitive development. Therefore, it is important to give creativity to Early Childhood Education. The research method uses descriptive quantitative. Grand design with pretest and post test with 25 children as respondents. The results showed that there was a significant difference to 4K in children before receiving treatment and after receiving the STEAM method application. This study aims to test the effectiveness of STEAM in increasing 4K for children in learning PANCASILA during the pandemic. STEAM in its application cannot be separated from loosepart which can increase children's creativity. High creativity benchmarks are characterized by increased thinking skills, flexible thinking skills, original thinking skills and detailed thinking skills. The application of the STEAM method in the implementation of learning can improve children's abilities marked by being able to solve problems and being able to make relationships with the surrounding environment, especially knowledge in PANCASILA.

Analisis Penataan Lingkungan Main Indoor yang Mendukung Kemampuan Problem Solving pada Anak

The low ability of problem solving in children requires stimulation efforts in early childhood education, one of which is through the management of the maximum play environment that educators can do in optimizing problem solving abilities in children. The problem in this study is about the implementation of learning with a play environment that raises problem solving abilities in children aged 5-6 years. This research was conducted at the Center of Excellence Paud Taman Belia Candi, Semarang City. This type of research is qualitative research in descriptive form. Researchers use a naturalist approach, namely the presence of researchers directly in the field. This study discusses the analysis of indoor play environment that supports problem solving abilities in children aged 5-6 years. The results showed that the problem-solving ability of children aged 5-6 years could be improved through structuring the play environment in such a way as that at the Center of Excellence PAUD Taman Belia Candi Semarang. In order for children to achieve maximum development in the aspects of cognitive development in the scope of problem solving development, it is necessary to organize an environment that stimulates or invites children (inviting classroom), facilitates multi-sensory children and provides opportunities for activities for children. Based on the results of this study, the suggestion that can be conveyed is that in each learning process, the teacher can add knowledge and skills in arranging the indoor learning environment through various sources so that the center room is arranged in an optimal state for the learning process.

Do socio-cultural differences matter? A study of the learning effects and satisfaction with physical activity from digital learning assimilated into a university dance course

In recent years, due to the advancement of digital learning and flipped learning (FL, a student-centered approach that reverses traditional pedagogy by providing students with content usually taught in class for their learning in advance), there have been some major changes in teaching models for various disciplines. Learning can be ubiquitous through utilization of technology so teaching is no longer limited by time, space, psychological state, or geopolitical borders. This is helpful for learners to form a habit of lifelong learning. In this study, we applied technology and the strategy of digital instruction to dance curricula, integrating blended learning (BL, which combines online and face-to-face classes) and FL for the purpose of making comparisons with the traditional teaching method (C). A 10-week experiment was performed with 290 participants from 6 amateur dance classes. The researchers investigated, via quasi-experiments, the effects of BL and FL on developing students' learning effects and physical activity class satisfaction in this online dance course. A 2 (Taiwanese students vs. foreign students) × 3 (BL vs. FL vs. C) design, as well as factorial pretest/posttest design, was employed in this experiment. The selected course for the experiment is titled “Physical Education: Dance”, a one-semester, required course for the four involved classes of students at a comprehensive university. All students in this study came from non-dance departments. The purpose of this experiment was to explore the influences of different teaching methods on the effectiveness of learning dance skills among Taiwanese and foreign students as well as their satisfaction with this approach in a physical activity course. The results and conclusions of this research are that, compared to those taught with the traditional method, the Taiwanese students taught with the BL approach achieved higher learning effects in dance skills and were more satisfied in the aspects of cognitive development, fun, degree of enjoyment, diversified experience, and degree of relaxation in this physical activity course. Moreover, compared to those taught with the traditional method, the ones taught with the FL approach were more satisfied in the aspects of teacher's instruction, cognitive development, physical health condition, improvement in physical capability, diversified experience, and degree of relaxation. As for the foreign students, compared to those taught with the traditional method, the ones taught with the BL approach or the FL approach achieved higher learning effects in dance skills. However, there was no significant difference found in their satisfaction with this physical activity course. Finally, this study suggests that teachers who teach dance-related classes consider integrating the BL approach or the FL approach based on the backgrounds and characteristics of their students, in order to improve their learning effects and increase their satisfaction with various aspects of physical activities.

THE RELATIONSHIP OF PLAY ACTIVITIES IN COGNITIVE DEVELOPMENT OF CHILDREN AGE 1 - 2 YEARS OLD

<p>Parents, schools and government should pay great attention to early childhood education and knowledge. Early childhood is nurtured and stimulated according to the wishes and abilities of each child with the hope that they can grow accordingly and develop as they should. Play is every child's right. Playing is a land for children to express all forms of behavior that are fun and without coercion. Play has a role to support children's growth and development, especially in the development of cognitive aspects. This study identifies the role of play activities on knowledge of children aged 1-2 years. Quantitative research and using a simple paradigm of the relationship of two variables. The data analysis technique used in this study was the parametric correlation analysis perarson product moment. The results of the study The value of sig (0.003) <a then H0 is rejected. So that there is a correlation between the role of play activities and the cognitive development of children 1-2 years. The correlation coefficient value shows the effect of the role of playing activities on cognitive development of children 1-2 years of 0.598 or 59.8%. So that the correlation is 40.2%, maybe there is a relationship with other elements.</p>

LITERATURE STUDY OF MODIFICATION SCALE MEDIA IN LEARNING MEASUREMENT CONCEPTS OF CHILDREN 5-6 YEARS OLD

<p>In the development of cognitive aspects one of the parts in it is mathematics. One concept in mathematics that is very close to children is the concept of measurement. However, learning in children is quite difficult for teachers to do. This is because the concept of measurement is one of the concepts in mathematics which is quite abstract if only taught without the existence of a learning medium as a tool in the learning process. Teaching the concept of measurement in kindergarten is still lacking in variety and tends to only use Child Worksheets (LKA) which directly or indirectly will seem very boring and seem monotonous. Therefore, it is necessary to have a new learning media in the process of learning the measurement concept that aims to make it easy for children to learn the measurement concept. This study aims to describe the use of the modified media scales in the learning of measurement concepts that are aimed at children aged 5-6 years. Indicators of measurement concepts related to the child's ability to understand the concept of measuring the weight of objects with the intended subject are early childhood with an age range of 5-6 years. This type of research is a literature review that is using literature studies in a scientific study relating to the variables in the study. Analysis techniques in research by analyzing some relevant research from related articles obtained, discovered, analyzed and concluded. The results of the data analysis concluded that the use of modified media scales in the learning process of measuring concepts can provide convenience for children in learning the measurement concepts.</p>

Booklets as a Community Based Education Related To Child Development for Kotaanyar Community, Probolinggo

In the context of the availability of literacy sources about early childhood development, the people of Kotaanyar District, Probolinggo Regency are constrained by limited access and understanding. The limited access in this case is the limitation in finding main literacy sources such as books and online literacy content. The limitation of understanding in this case is the difficulty of them (parents of early childhood) to understand content that contains scientific and technical concepts regarding information on children's development. This is due to the low participation rate in taking education in this area. With this problem, researchers conducted research & development of booklets with stimulus content for early childhood growth and development which were made in such a way as to be completed with pictures and by using simple exposures, direct practice, and local language. The content developed is divided according to the stages of developmental age and children's growth, ages 0-12 months, 12-24 months, 24-36 months, 36-48 months, pre-school age 48-60 months. The development of stimulation content is divided based on general information on growth and developmental aspects including aspects of motoric physical development, aspects of cognitive development, aspects of language development, aspects of social emotional development. As a basis for development, we use some references related to children's accumulation strategies from several books, the rest we add stimulus content on the basis of child development problems that were found in a typical and contextual manner in the Kotaanyar District community. Presentation in bilingual form is needed so that it can be understood by the local community, who mostly speak the Madura Pendalungan area (slightly different from the language of the island Madurese / origin Madurese). Therefore, after the content and illustration development stage, the researcher translated the booklet into the Madurese Pendalungan language. This is solely done to facilitate understanding of the local community, and also to facilitate early childhood education coaches / socializers to explain in the local language. Finally, we need to package a booklet with an attractive and illustrated layout to serve as an illustration of the child's stimulation activity.

PENGARUH PERMAINAN SMART BALL TERHADAP KEMAMPUAN MENGENAL WARNA PADA ANAK USIA DINI

Child's cognitive development involves learning skills in children that occur through complex internal processes and mental activities. Children who develop both cognitive aspects will be able to learn to develop thought processes, respond to objects in their environment and reflect on their experiences. Sometimes children are not able to recognize colors because it is not usual to mention various colors and the limitations of the media to recognize colors when at school. Children only know certain colors that are often seen for example green because children see leaves, red and white when children see the flag and when children are faced with different objects the child will have difficulty guessing the color. Smart ball is a game tool that can develop children's cognitive play methods. Smart ball has advantages in developing all aspects of child development, especially in aspects of cognitive development, namely children are able to recognize colors. The approach in this research is a quantitative approach. Data collected in this study are descriptive. The process to be observed is student activities and teacher activities during the learning process. From the results of an analysis of the effect of smart ball on the ability to recognize colors, the results of research show that smartball games affect the ability to recognize children's colors.
