The main objective of this study is to focus on the actual impact and current status of Generative Artificial Intelligence (Gen AI) on art and design curriculum education in higher education. The text revolves around the relationship between aesthetic education, interdisciplinary education and AI in art and design course education, and we try to answer the following questions: Can traditional aesthetic education for art and design creation be discarded with the help of Gen AI? Is interdisciplinary course teaching simplified with the help of AI? What role should AI play as a digital creation platform in art and design education? In this paper, through an in-depth analysis of Gen AI in art and design teaching experiments, we explore in detail its practical application in the process of university art and design teaching practices and how it affects traditional teaching practices, curriculum design and student-teacher interactions.
