The aging process can lead to various health problems in the elderly, including anxiety and sleep disturbances. Adjustment to emotional changes, quantity and quality of sleep becomes a problem if you don't get efficient and proper treatment. This study evaluates the effect of cinnamon (Cinnamomum burmannii)aromatherapy on the anxiety status and sleep quality of the elderly. Pre-experimental study with "One Group Pretest-Posttest design without control". Elderly population (n = 20) who experience sleep quality and anxiety disorders in the city of Surabaya. Census sampling, namely all samples are members of the population. Geriatic Anxiety Inventory Questionnaire and Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index as measuring tools. Statistical test for differences in the dependent variable using the Wilcoxon signed ranks test for the elderly's anxiety scale after being given an intervention showed that the value of the anxiety scale was p-value = 0.000; the value of sleep quality p value = 0.000 so that there is a difference in the scale of anxiety and sleep quality before and after the Cinnamon aromatherapy intervention. Cinnamon aromatherapy (Cinnamomum burmannii) has an effect on the anxiety scale and sleep quality of the elderly, so it can be used as an alternative therapy that helps reduce anxiety scale and achieve a good quality of life.
