The history of the Azov Battalion based on the materials of the Azov Battalion Archive of unregulated documentation (May-September 2014)

The aim of the publication is to build a general scheme of the history of the Azov Volunteer Battalion, using the contents of the Azov Battalion Archive of unregulated documentation in general and internal battalion orders in particular. The research methodology involves the application of the principles of historicism, the usage of studying whole historical sources and being objective. Descriptive method, methods of classification and systematization as well as methods of analysis and synthesis have been used. The source base of the study is based on internal battalion orders and other materials of the archive of unregulated documentation of the Azov Battalion. The scientific novelty is conditioned by the high source value of the materials of the Azov Battalion Archive, which are currently completely unexplored within the academic science; these materials are introduced into scientific circulation for the first time. The conclusions of the study are the construction the general scheme of a history of the Azov Volunteer Battalion from the establishment of the unit on May 5, 2014 on the basis of the training and mobilization center "Cossack Legion" in the actually squatted building in the center of the Ukrainian capital to expand the unit to the regiment of September 17, 2014. Important milestones in the battalion's history are the redeployment of the unit from Kyiv to the Azov coast, participation in hostilities in the summer and autumn of 2014, including the liberation of Mariupol on June 13 and Mar’inka on August 4, and participation in the Ilovaysk operation in August and the defense of Mariupol in early September of that year.

Evaluating the stability of opioid efficacy over 12 months in patients with chronic noncancer pain who initially demonstrate benefit from extended release oxycodone or hydrocodone: harmonization of Food and Drug Administration patient-level drug safety study data.

Opioids relieve acute pain, but there is little evidence to support the stability of the benefit over long-term treatment of chronic noncancer pain. Previous systematic reviews consider only group level published data which did not provide adequate detail. Our goal was to use patient-level data to explore the stability of pain, opioid dose, and either physical function or pain interference in patients treated for 12 months with abuse deterrent formulations of oxycodone and hydrocodone. All available studies in the Food and Drug Administration Document Archiving, Reporting, and Regulatory Tracking System were included. Patient-level demographics, baseline data, exposure, and outcomes were harmonized. Individual patient slopes were calculated from a linear model of pain, physical function, and pain interference to determine response over time. Opioid dose was summarized by change between baseline and the final month of observation. Patients with stable or less pain, stable or lower opioid dose, and stable or better physical function (where available) met our prespecified criteria for maintaining long-term benefit from chronic opioids. Of the complete data set of 3192 patients, 1422 (44.5%) maintained their pain level and opioid dose. In a secondary analysis of 985 patients with a measured physical function, 338 (34.3%) maintained their physical function in addition to pain and opioid dose. Of 2040 patients with pain interference measured, 788 (38.6%) met criteria in addition. In a carefully controlled environment, about one-third of patients successfully titrated on opioids to treat chronic noncancer pain demonstrated continued benefit for up to 12 months.

The establishment of Soviet cosmonautics through the prism of its founders: historiography and sources

History marks the events that can be truly called the scientific and technological breakthroughs. One of such achievements is the flight of the first man into space in 1961. However, the flight of the austranot in the spacecraft is just a small part of this event. Behind it are those who developed the spacecraft, launch vehicle, braking system, life support system, lodgment, spacesuit and many other systems. This reviews and systematizes the sources of personal origin, such as diaries, memoirs and correspondence of the scholars, who were the pioneers of the Soviet cosmonautics, as well as works on the history of space exploration. The object of this research is the circle of scholars and engineers, members of the Council of Chief Designers of 1946–1967. The article relies on the materials from the library of the Russian State Archive of Scientific and Technical Documentation, Russian State Historical Library, as well as the collections of the Russian State Archive of Scientific and Technical Documentation, collection of the Memorial Museum of Cosmonautics, and archive of the Academician S. P. Korolev Memorial House Museum. The analysis employs the sources of personal origin, such as correspondence, diaries and memoirs of the designers, which contain mentioning of their work, as well as give assessment of the activity and personality of their colleagues.

ON SOME PROBLEMAS OF FORMING FUNDS OF PERSONAL ORIGIN IN THE REPUBLICAN ARCHIVES OF KAZAKHSTAN

The collection of documents collected during the life and work of outstanding historical figures of the country, figures of society, culture and art, scientists, heroes, who made a lot of efforts to update and revive the culture, language, Kazakh traditions and customs, is called the documents of the foundation of personal origin. The broad development of the Kazakh people, having joined the international community in the period of its current independence, has led intellectuals of Kazakh nationality to the world of sociopolitical relations at the international level. Archival documents about their services to the people, their contribution to the prosperity of the state are a precious treasure, an inexhaustible wealth for our national ideology. One of the most important tasks is to study and pass on their value to the next generations. The article analyzes the current state of the process of formation of funds of personal origin in the republican archives of Kazakhstan (Central State Archive, Presidential Archive, Central State Archive of Scientific and Technical Documentation) and the list of sources of acquisition of documents of personal origin. The analysis of the issues of categorization of the formed funds of personal origin is carried out. The criteria for the examination of the values of accepted documents of personal origin are set out. The system of grouping depending on the genre and type of documents of personal origin in the list is described. Proposals are made on completing the republican archives with documents of personal origin, determining their values, categorizing, improving the means of scientific reference apparatus. ИСТОРИЯ СОЗДАНИЯ КОРАБЛЯ-СПУТНИКА «ВОСТОК»: ПРОЕКТИРОВАНИЕ И ПРОВЕРКА ИНЖЕНЕРНЫХ РЕШЕНИЙ

The origin of space means of studying the Earth's surface in the 50- 70-s of the twentieth century is inextricably linked with the main stages of the development of space technology. The improvement of methods and technical means for the study of the Earth and near-Earth space took place in the conditions of acute political confrontation between the USSR and the United States. (Research purpose) The research purpose is in identifying the key points that influenced the formation of the “Vostok” satellite program at the design stage from 1957 to 1960, as well as assessing the contribution of engineering and design solutions to the development of the space industry of the Soviet Union. (Materials and methods) The research is based on the materials of the State Archive of the Russian Federation, the Russian State Archive of Scientific and Technical Documentation, the Archive of the President of the Russian Federation, the Russian State Archive of Economics, the Archive of the S. P. Korolev Rocket and Space Corporation “Energiya”, the Archive of the Yuri Gagarin Cosmonaut Training Center, as well as publications of historians, memoirs of witnesses and participants of events, and the results of previous research on this topic. (Results and discussion) The article presents the history of the creation of the program of the Soviet spacecraft- satellites of the “Vostok” series. The greatest difficulty of the project was the development of scientific equipment for scientific research and the transmission of the received data from the satellite to the Earth. The terms of reference for conducting research and developing a control system that ensures the launch of the satellite into orbit were developed; the terms of reference and work plans providing for the research and development of systems and means for getting the results of scientific observations from orbit. (Conclusions) The first flight of the satellite spacecraft showed the correctness of the main theoretical provisions and engineering and design decisions taken when creating an orientable spacecraft.

Stewardship of Digital Archaeological Data in Greece: a landscape of fragmentation

This article provides an overview of the current situation in Greece regarding digital archaeological data stewardship. A brief chronicle of Greek archaeology sets the scene for a better understanding of the present situation. Greek archaeology is supervised by the Ministry of Culture and Sports, with the Archaeological Service as the central organisation in charge of antiquities. However, archaeological data resulting from archaeological fieldwork are produced by several other entities. This article presents the policies governing both physical and digital documentation archives. It introduces the current practices for archaeological data preservation and the relevant digital infrastructures, attempting to showcase the existing environment. We categorise prevailing problems on three levels, all based on the fact that digital and open access arrived recently in a well-established environment formed gradually over almost two centuries. Even so, fragmentation and variation would be the proper terms to describe the status of the stewardship of digital archaeological data in Greece. Our review shows that there is substantial effort directed towards digital archaeological data stewardship and accessibility by all stakeholders within the archaeological sector. Finally, we add a few thoughts and suggestions, and indicate the need to generate a network that could take steps towards more inclusive strategies within digital data stewardship. The key to leveraging change is raising awareness about data sustainability and reuse, and the COVID-19 outbreak indicates a clear change in mentality in this direction, since open access resources have begun to be key to education and research conducted in Greece.

The peculiarities of archival heuristics in seeking information on the history of Soviet industry of Sevastopol in the central archives (on the example of the source complex on the history of Sevastopol branch of the Central Research Institute “Compass” in the Central State Archive of Scientific and Technical Documentation of St. Petersburg)

The subject of this research is the information potential of the source complex of archival documents dedicated to the history of Sevastopol Central Research Institute “Compass” in the Central State Archive of Scientific and Technical Documentation of St. Petersburg. Since Sevastopol was not only an industrial, but also a scientific and technological center, the engineering departments lead unique developments, which were later implemented in various sectors nationwide. Both, enterprises and engineering departments were integrated into a unified all-Union system, which justifies using not only the city archive, but also central archives to find sources on the history of industrial development of Sevastopol during the Soviet period. This article is dedicated to determination and detailed analysis of the documents related to the history of Sevastopol Central Research Institute “Compass”. The authors dwell on the types of the preserved departmental documents, provide explicit examples, and analyze the peculiarities of documentation. The work is based on the range previously unpublished archival documents. The conclusion is made that materials from the fund of the Central Research Institute “Compass” of the Central State Archive of Scientific and Technical Documentation of St. Petersburg demonstrates the place and role of Sevastopol branch within the system of this organization, unlike the local documents stored the city archive of Sevastopol, which are focused on the local tasks and problems, and do not fully reflect the structural issues of the entire Scientific Production Association. Analyzing the extracted archival information on the Scientific Production Association “Compass”, the authors conclude that both the association itself and the Ministry of Shipbuilding Industry of the Soviet Union were focused on strengthening integration and interrelation of enterprises both within the Central Research Institute “Compass “ and industry as a whole, which manifested in establishment of the Council of the Scientific Production Association “Compass”; its documents are also stored in the fund.

Testing Meldonium: Assessing Soviet pragmatic alternatives to the randomized controlled trial.

Current research largely tends to ignore the drug-testing model that was developed in the "Second World" as an explicit alternative to the randomized controlled trial. This system can be described as "socialist pharmapolitics," accounting for the specific features of state socialism that influenced the development and testing of experimental drugs. The clinical trials model employed in the "Second World" was heavily influenced by the Soviet Union, which was by far the most influential player in the socialist bloc during the Cold War. Based on extensive archival research, this article presents an empirical case of a late Soviet clinical trial as a pragmatic alternative to the randomized controlled trial model. It accounts for the divergences between the official model prescribed by the Soviet authorities and the messy realities of healthcare practice. It further outlines different factors that ultimately shaped how clinical trials were organized in Soviet institutions "on the ground." Accordingly, this article presents a "real-life" history of "socialist pharmapolitics" and outlines the problems that this system faced in practice. Archival research was conducted at the Russian State Archive of Scientific and Technical Documentation in Moscow. Archival files include scientific, technical, and registration documentation such as biochemical, pharmacological, and clinical descriptions of the experimental drug Meldonium, letters between various hospitals, research institutes and the Soviet regulatory body, as well as 26 reports of completed clinical trials. Manual content analysis was used for the interpretation of results. This article presents an empirical case of a late Soviet clinical trial as a pragmatic alternative to the randomized controlled trial model. It demonstrates some key differences from the randomized controlled trial model. This article also highlights some of the discrepancies between the model that was officially prescribed by the Soviet authorities and the realities of experimental drug testing in the Soviet Union in the late 1980s and early 1990s. In particular, it notes some elements of randomization, double-blinding, and the use of placebo that were present in Meldonium trials despite being formally denounced by Soviet bioethics. The Soviet model for testing experimental drugs differed from the Western one substantially in a number of respects. This difference was not only proclaimed officially by the Soviet authorities, but was for the most part enforced in clinical trials in practice. At the same time, our research demonstrates that there were important differences between the official model and the clinical realities on the ground.

Organizational activity of the Council of People's Commissars of the USSR in participation of the delegation of Soviet scholars in the First Plenum of the International Society for the Exploration of the Arctic Regions by Means of the Airship (Aeroarctic) and its results

The subject of this research is the exploration of Arctic, its economic development, and use of resources on the scientific basis as the crucial policy avenue of the Soviet Union. The International Society for the Exploration of the Arctic Regions by Airship (Aeroarctic) made a significant contribution to the research of the Russian Arctic. The success and performance of the Soviet members of this society largely depended on the organizational and norm-setting measures taken by the Council of People's Commissars of the USSR and its commissions in the late 1920s. For elucidation of the role of the Council of People's Commissars of the USSR in organizing international cooperation of the Soviet scholars, the article employs the materials from the State Archive of the Russian Federation and St. Petersburg Central State Archive of Scientific and Technical Documentation. Among noteworthy results of international cooperation within the framework of “Aeroarctic” are the following: 1) organization of the 2nd Congress of Aeroarctic Society held in Leningrad in 1928; 2) inclusion of the possibility of establishing trans-Arctic air routes between Europe and America in the five-year plan of research activity of the Arctic and Antarctic Research Institute for 1928 – 1933. In the activity of the Council of People's Commissars on the issues of Soviet participation in “Aeroarctic”, the author observes the proclivity for providing the procesude for recognition of the Arctic territories of the USSR by the global community; as well as protect the Soviet Arctic territories from the claims of foreign states. The second half of 1920s marks a major breakthrough in development of the Arctic in the USSR reflected in conduct of regular scientific research, acquisition of reliable knowledge on this remote part of the Earth, discovery of mineral deposits, which also allowed among strengthening defense potential of the country.

Valuasi ekonomi Setu Pedongkelan, Kota Depok, Jawa Barat (pemanfaatan sumber daya perikanan)

This study aims to identify the types of utilization found in Setu Pedongkelan and estimate the economic value of Setu Pedongkelan through fisheries utilization. The use of fisheries in Setu Pedongkelan is capture fisheries. The data used in this research are primary data in the form of survey results, interviews and online questionnaires as well as secondary data obtained from the documentation archive. The method used in this research is the market price method. The results of the study found that the types of utilization found in Setu Pedongkelan include direct use such as fisheries, irrigation and recreation. In addition, there are also indirect uses such as places for biota to find food, flood control, spawning, conservation and places or research facilities. This research also gives the result that the economic value of Setu Pedongkelan from fisheries utilization is IDR 2,472,960,000.

Formation of the Central Institute for Advanced Medical Education (1930–1938)

This article presents the history of the formation of the State Central Institute for Advanced Medical Education, the present-day Russian Medical Academy of Continuing Professional Education at the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation (Moscow). This study involved documents found in the Russian State Archive of Scientific and Technical Documentation. The problem statement is the first of is kind in Russian historiography. The paper contains a detailed description of the early years of the Central Institute for Advanced Medical Education (1930–1938). It also outlines the main directions of the Institute activity during the period in question, e.g. correspondence courses for doctors from remote regions. The authors investigated the personnel issue in the context of historical reconstruction. They demonstrated the key challenges that the institution had to face and address in its early days. The analysis proved that the Institute provided invaluable experience in training professional medical personnel in the shortest time possible under difficult historical conditions.

БОРЬБА С ТУБЕРКУЛЕЗОМ В ЛЕНИНГРАДЕ В 1940-е гг.

The article analyzes the incidence of tuberculosis and the fight against it in Leningrad in the 1940s. The study is based on office documents and statistical materials from the funds of the Central State Archive of St. Petersburg (fund 7384 — St. Petersburg City Council of People’s Deputies and Fund 9156 — Health Committee of the Administration of St. Petersburg) and the Central State Archive of Scientific and Technical Documentation of St. Petersburg (fund 295 — Scientific Research Institute of Phthisiopulmonology). The dynamics of morbidity and mortality are given, the measures of the authorities are analyzed (regulation of the hospital, dispensary and sanatorium network, food supply of patients). The author concludes that during the siege years the epidemic spread of tuberculosis was facilitated not only by objective factors (poor living conditions of the population, hunger and vitamin deficiency, lack of qualified medical personnel), but also by organizational miscalculations of city health authorities and the focus of the authorities and doctors on the prevention of gastrointestinal-intestinal infections. The wave of morbidity was brought down in 1943, but as the evacuees and demobilized from the front returned to the city, tuberculosis again began to acquire the character of an epidemic. The system of post-war measures to combat tuberculosis included early detection of diseases, vaccinations, treatment and prophylactic activities, and health education. The collective efforts of epidemiologists, phthisiatricians and the sanitary inspection managed to somewhat reduce the severity of the problem, but financing of medicine on a leftover basis and the lack of a sufficient number of effective drugs for the treatment of tuberculosis reduced the effectiveness of doctors.

THE ARCHITECTURE OF MINSK MOSQUE, 1901

The architecture of the Minsk mosque built in 1901 is reviewed. This mosque became the first stone mosque built by the Lithuanian Tatars community and the first stone mosque in Belarus. The Minsk mosque was completely destroyed in the 1960s. Its appearance was reconstructed from surviving illustrations, photographs and materials of the Belarusian State Archive of Scientific and Technical Documentation. In addition to general description and analysis of the architecture of the mosque, the objective of the article is to establish a connection between the architecture of the Minsk mosque and the practice of standardized design of Muslim cult buildings in the Russian Empire.
 Another objective is to publish information about the mosque that was previously unknown, in particular about the personality of the mosque architect Vladimir Solovyov. Using archival documents from Russia and Poland, the identity of the architect Solovyov was established and his creative biography retraced.

Analysis of the Hydroponics Program in Instilling an Environmental Care Attitude for Elementary School Students

This study aimed to describe the planting of environmental care through hydroponic programs. This type of research is qualitative research with purposive sampling technique. The research subjects were students in grade V SDN Susukan 04 East Ungaran Semarang Regency. Data collection techniques through FGD, questionnaires, interviews, and documentation. The research instrument used was a draft FGD, questionnaire sheets, interview guides, and documentation archives. Technique validity of data through source triangulation and technique triangulation. Students carry out the hydroponic program with a floating raft system through the axis technique. The planting of an environmental care attitude is carried out through several stages of the hydroponic program, namely the stages of sowing, seedling, growth/enlarging and harvesting. The results showed that the most dominant environmental care attitude of students was nurturing plants, while the weakest environmental care attitude of students was developing a comfortable environment. The environmental care attitude that has been embedded in elementary school students is the interest in planting and caring for plants, conserving energy by using water as needed, throwing trash into the trash, and recycling used goods.

"BRINGING YOUR VISION TO LIFE": PRODUCTION PLATFORMS AND INDUSTRY UNITY

In this paper, we introduce the notion of production platforms by exploring the political economy of the real-time animation platform Unity by Unity Technologies. Contributing to the debate on the ‘platformization of cultural production’ by examining the penetration of Unity’s economic, infrastructural, and governance extensions beyond its platform boundaries, we argue Unity has become the de facto default for the development of apps thereby impacting the production and circulation of immersive content. To explore the impact of Unity’s role in the wider process of platformization we draw on an archive of corporate documentation and promotional material, news coverage, and industry data. We situate the platform within Unity Technologies’ culture and business strategies, which enrolls and keeps developers ‘tethered’ to its proprietary platform. We found Unity’s diffusion and growth has evolved along three lines, economic expansion, infrastructural integration, and regulatory control through a series of acquisitions and business partnerships with industry-specific technologies. While there are competing real-time animation platforms, Unity Technologies’ focus on economic and infrastructural integration with industry-specific technologies and companies has made it indispensable for real-time animation workflows. As a result, global businesses such as Disney, Toyota, and Nintendo use Unity in their design process. Our analysis signals a broader shift in the cultural production of apps where a small group of production platforms shape the production, distribution, and circulation of real-time animation products. In many ways, Unity not only animates the life of the internet, but it also brings to life visions of the material world around us.

Захист інформаційно-комунікаційної мережі установи від несанкціонованого доступу

У статті розглянуто питання можливості проникнення до інформаційно-комунікаційної мережі установи, проаналізовано та симульовано дії реального порушника контурів захисту інформації на прикладі реальної інформаційної інфраструктури, наведено загальний порядок оцінювання та забезпечення вдосконалення систем захисту інформації шляхом проведення тестування на проникнення. Запропоновані методи проведення тестування на проникнення можуть використовуватись при розробці та тестуванні нових систем захисту інформації, а також оцінювання ефективності та вдосконалення вже існуючих систем. Результати можуть бути використані в галузі захисту інформації, зокрема в сучасних інформаційно-комунікаційних системах та мережах (ІКСМ) для оцінювання та підвищення ефективності застосування комплексних систем та окремих засобів захисту інформації в сучасних ІКСМ.

The Development of Instructional Multimedia based on Science, Environment, Technology, and Society (SETS)

This research aims to produce a valid and practical SETS-based instructional multimedia for natural science course to seventh-grade students associated with media worthiness criteria. This study applied research and development methodology with 4-D Model which comprises of four-stage procedure accordingly, such as: define, design, develop, and disseminate. Three experts engaged with the product validation process with two media experts and one material expert. Meanwhile, 22 students of MTs PP Muallimin Muhammadiyah Sawah Dangka, Regency of Agam involved in the product trial examination. To collect the data, the researchers used interview, questionnaire and documentation archives which were analyzed with a descriptive qualitative method. The result found that in the initial step, the researchers defined the instructional media integrated with science, environment, technology in the learning. In the development stage, it was conducted the incorporation of various instructional tools, such as learning video and animation. Meanwhile, in the phase of worthiness assessment from material and media experts, it was obtained the material validity around 85,67 % with ‘Very Good’ category so that the material was declared valid for use. Furthermore, through two steps of media validation, it was found that the final value of validator 1 nad 2 were 92.93% and 81.09% consecutively with the category “Very Good” so that the media was valid to be tested. It can be concluded that SETS-based learning multimedia is worth testing. Furthermore, the results of the analysis based on the testing of SETS-based multimedia product learning in students received an average score of 93% in the “Very Practical” category. These results indicate that SETS-based learning multimedia products (Science, Environment, Technology, and society) are worthy of being used as an alternative learning media in class VII SMP / MTs (junior high schools) for natural sciences subject.

Soviet transarctic flights in the late 1920s and their role in the geographical development of the Arctic regions of Siberia

The role of aviation in the development of the Arctic became evident in the late 1930s. The long-distance flights of V. Chkalov, V. Molokov, M. Gromov and other pilots not only symbolized Soviet heroism, but also contributed to the exploration and development of Arctic spaces by the Soviet Union. However, the achievements of those who made the way to the North for our aviators in 1920s are in the shadow of their successes.This article analyzes the materials of first transarctic flights - their routes, organization, technical and financial support, and the work of flight crews, both in terms of the achieved results and in the political aspect. The analysis of the goals and achievements of the USSR Osoaviahim Northern Air Expedition in 1927 and the Transarctic Expedition in 1928 is based on the materials of St. Petersburg Central State Archive of Scientific and Technical Documentation and other materials. The authors highlight the contribution made by these expeditions into the exploration of Eastern Siberia and the Arctic Ocean and into the development of the regional transport infrastructure. The authors dwell on the work of various departments and the researchers in the field of the national aeronautics in the organization of the expedition. The conclusion is drawn on the importance of scientific and commercial interest in the development of polar aviation in the 1920s and early 1930s.

Community Participation in the Village Climate Program to Anticipate Future Climate Change in Wetlands

The issue of global warming and climate change is a crucial problem in the world as it triggers an increase in temperature and disasters. Indonesia one of the countries most vulnerable to climate change impacts. The impact of climate change is increasing every year. Efforts to reduce the impact of climate change on environmental management through climate village. Community participation is an important aspect of the success of the climate village program. The purpose of this study is how the Community Participation in the Village Climate Program to Anticipate Future Climate Change in Wetlands. This research method is quantitative. Sources of data in this study are primary data and secondary data. Sources of primary data obtained through interviews. Secondary data sources in the form of documentation and official archives that can support the research. Population and sample in the community in the village climate. Processing of data from interviews calculated percentages based on criteria of severe, moderate and good. Data in scoring with Likert scale approach and wide intervals. The analysis is based on the theory of Miles and Huberman. The findings of the study were to determine the Community Participation in the Village Climate Program to Anticipate Future Climate Change in Wetlands. Limitations of the study limit community participation in the climate village program. Community participation in the program is limited to mitigation and adaptation. The results showed community participation in the mitigation activities has been “good” and should be improved. Community participation in the activities of adaptation is “moderate”. This participation still needs improvements to community participation in the activities of adaptation to climate change can be better. Community participation is an important aspect of the success of the climate village program. Success climate village programs can reduce the negative impacts of future climate change on wetlands.

Network Analysis of Memoires by Soviet Cosmonautics Creators: Professional Interactions Circle

The article studies the interactions of the Chief Designers’ Council members by the network analysis method based on the prosopographic database covering the creators of Soviet cosmonautics. Personal contacts of cosmonautics creators were undoubtedly very important in the activities of senior managers of such a complex scientific and engineering industry as the Soviet cosmonautics was. These are professional relations of the Chief Designers’ Council members the article addresses. The source base of the research is the materials library of the Russian State Archive of scientific and technical documentation, the Russian State Public History Library, the Russian State Archive of scientific and technical documentation, the funds of the Memorial Museum of Cosmonautics and the archive of the Memorial House Museum of academician Sergey Korolev. The research novelty is the goal set to study professional communications of the Soviet space program creators on the basis of network analysis as well as the first attempt to collect and process a large array of texts of biographical and memoir sources (5500 abridged pages) associated with the Chief Designers’ Council using a set of quantitative methods. The main results of this study are networks of interactions that show who of the members of the 1946-1967 Chief Designers’ Council had a significant impact on the development of the Soviet cosmonautics and how communication links were distributed between them.
