Factors Influencing Students' Learning Preferences in College Piano Teaching and Countermeasures

In the course of higher education development, piano teaching plays a vital role in fostering students' basic musical literacy, guiding them to form good music learning habits, helping them establish a fundamental understanding of music knowledge, and thereby enhancing their music appreciation abilities. Due to the diversification of educational environments and the increasing personalization of student demands, in order to improve the quality of piano music teaching and stimulate students' potential, it is crucial to study students' learning preferences from various angles. This forms an important foundation for personalized teaching. Therefore, university piano teaching still needs continuous improvement in teaching strategies. Piano teaching should be adjusted according to course requirements, abandoning outdated piano education concepts and rigid methods, and analyzing from multiple dimensions to clarify the connection between students' learning preferences and the effectiveness of piano teaching. This helps students master piano playing techniques and strengthen their skills, equipping them with solid basics and advancing college piano education to new heights.

Reflection on Cultivating Students Appreciation Ability in College Music Teaching

As an important part of college art education, music plays a very good role in cultivating students artistic sentiment and emotion. In college music teaching, in order to further improve students music level, it is necessary for teachers to focus on cultivating students appreciation ability, and stimulate students emotional resonance to the works through appreciation and analysis of various excellent music works, so as to strengthen students music literacy in a deep level. Therefore, this paper mainly explores the strategies of cultivating students appreciation ability in college music teaching, hoping to provide some reference for the majority of college music teachers.

Barrier-free tomato fruit selection and location based on optimized semantic segmentation and obstacle perception algorithm.

With the advancement of computer vision technology, vision-based target perception has emerged as a predominant approach for harvesting robots to identify and locate fruits. However, little attention has been paid to the fact that fruits may be obscured by stems or other objects. In order to improve the vision detection ability of fruit harvesting robot, a fruit target selection and location approach considering obstacle perception was proposed. To enrich the dataset for tomato harvesting, synthetic data were generated by rendering a 3D simulated model of the tomato greenhouse environment, and automatically producing corresponding pixel-level semantic segmentation labels. An attention-based spatial-relationship feature extraction module (SFM) with lower computational complexity was designed to enhance the ability of semantic segmentation network DeepLab v3+ in accurately segmenting linear-structured obstructions such as stems and wires. An adaptive K-means clustering method was developed to distinguish individual instances of fruits. Furthermore, a barrier-free fruit selection algorithm that integrates information of obstacles and fruit instances was proposed to identify the closest and largest non-occluded fruit as the optimal picking target. The improved semantic segmentation network exhibited enhanced performance, achieving an accuracy of 96.75%. Notably, the Intersection-over-Union (IoU) of wire and stem classes was improved by 5.0% and 2.3%, respectively. Our target selection method demonstrated accurate identification of obstacle types (96.15%) and effectively excluding fruits obstructed by strongly resistant objects (86.67%). Compared to the fruit detection method without visual obstacle avoidance (Yolo v5), our approach exhibited an 18.9% increase in selection precision and a 1.3% reduction in location error. The improved semantic segmentation algorithm significantly increased the segmentation accuracy of linear-structured obstacles, and the obstacle perception algorithm effectively avoided occluded fruits. The proposed method demonstrated an appreciable ability in precisely selecting and locating barrier-free fruits within non-structural environments, especially avoiding fruits obscured by stems or wires. This approach provides a more reliable and practical solution for fruit selection and localization for harvesting robots, while also being applicable to other fruits and vegetables such as sweet peppers and kiwis.

Reform Strategies for the Popular Music Public Course Based on Key Competences

This study aims to explore the application potential of international music teaching methods in the reform of public basic courses of popular music in Chinese universities. Using mixed research methods, the applicability of Dalcroze, Kodaly, and Orff teaching methods was systematically evaluated through expert interviews, teaching material development, and a quasi-experimental design. The study found that these methods have high overall applicability in the Chinese higher education environment (average rating 4.183/5), but require localization adjustments. Based on this, the innovative textbook "Fundamentals and Applications of Popular Music" (IOC value 0.920) and a 12-week teaching plan (IOC value 0.880) were developed. The results of the 16-week teaching experiment showed that the students in the experimental group were significantly better than the control group in terms of music theory knowledge, appreciation ability, creative ability and learning interest (p<0.01). This study proposes a curriculum reform strategy that integrates innovation, technology empowerment, and interdisciplinary integration, providing theoretical basis and practical guidance for improving the quality of popular music education in colleges and universities. Future research directions include expanding the sample scope, conducting long-term follow-up studies, and deepening cross-cultural comparative analysis.

Cross-Cultural Poetics: Exploring the Impact of Poetry Teaching Methods on Enhancing Cultural Comprehension in Chinese Language Education in Japan and Korea

This study explores the effectiveness of poetry teaching in enhancing students' cultural understanding within Chinese language education in Japan and South Korea. From the perspective of cross-cultural education, this paper analyzes the teaching methods of poetry, a core element of Chinese language education, in Japanese and Korean classrooms, focusing on phonetic learning methods and historical cultural background teaching methods. By combining qualitative and quantitative research approaches, the study examines the impact of different teaching methods on students' language proficiency and cultural understanding. The research subjects include Chinese language students from Korea University and Kyoto University, with data collected through various methods such as classroom observations, in-depth interviews, and questionnaires. The study concludes that both the historical cultural background poetry teaching method and the phonetic learning method significantly enhance students' cultural understanding within Chinese language education. This research provides new recommendations for poetry teaching in Chinese education in Japan and South Korea, as well as for improving students' literary literacy and aesthetic appreciation abilities

Analysis of the Role and Strategies of New Media VR Technology in Music Education for Cultivating Middle School Students' Music Appreciation Ability

With the rapid development of new media technology, virtual reality (VR) technology has increasingly been applied in the field of education, particularly showing great potential in music education. By introducing VR technology, this study explores its role in cultivating students' music appreciation abilities. VR technology has significant application value in music education. Through the design of scientific teaching content, innovative teaching methods, and effective evaluation feedback mechanisms, it can comprehensively enhance middle school students' music appreciation abilities. This provides a valuable reference for the further promotion and application of VR music education.

Objectives This study was conducted to find out the effect of integrated children's art classes of exploration, expression, and appreciation on the creativity, art appreciation ability, and art teaching efficacy of pre-service childhood teachers. Methods Participants in the study were 21 students who took children's art courses in the second semester of 2023 among H University students located in D city. This class was held for a total of 45 hours, 3 hours per week. The collected data included pre- and post-survey questionnaires on creativity, art appreciation ability, and art teaching efficacy, art portfolio, and lecture evaluation forms during and at the end of the semester. The results of quantitative analysis (paired samples t test) and qualitative analysis (open coding method) were as follows. Results First, the integrated children's art class of exploration, expression, and appreciation was effective in enhancing creativity, and it was found that it was effective in alternative solutions and original flexibility among sub-areas. Specifically, imagination and creative thinking skills were developed through the exploration of aesthetic elements in life, and my own creative expression ability was developed through cooperative art activities and work appreciation. Second, this class was found to be effective in enhancing the ability of pre-service childhood teachers to appreciate art. Specifically, cognitive appreciation ability was developed through the expansion of art concepts and knowledge, and work appreciation experience centered on aesthetic elements. Third, this class was found to be effective in enhancing the efficacy of art teaching, and in particular, it was found that it was effective in enhancing the individual efficacy of art teaching. Specifically, teaching ability was developed through knowledge and understanding of early childhood art education and experience in art practice, and teaching efficacy was developed through direct and indirect teacher role experience. Conclusions Therefore, it can be seen that it is meaningful to apply an integrated art education class of exploration, expression, and appreciation to the pre-service teacher training course to improve creativity, art appreciation ability, and art teaching efficacy.

Analysis of the Integration Strategies of Traditional Culture in Vocal Music Teaching in Colleges and Universities

With the development of the times, vocal music teaching in universities is constantly reforming and innovating. Traditional music culture, as a treasure of Chinese culture, has a profound historical heritage and unique forms of artistic expression. It is not only the crystallization of the wisdom of predecessors, but also an important way of cultural inheritance and value expression. Traditional music culture contains rich emotions and connotations, which can convey people's insights into life, nature, and society, and has unique aesthetic value and artistic charm. However, in some universities' vocal music teaching, traditional Chinese music culture teaching has gradually been marginalized. Many vocal music teaching generally focuses on technical training and learning Western music, neglecting in-depth research and inheritance of traditional Chinese music culture. This has led to students' insufficient understanding and appreciation ability of traditional Chinese music, and they cannot truly experience the unique charm and emotional expression of Chinese music. Therefore, in vocal music teaching in universities, it is necessary to strengthen the teaching of traditional Chinese music culture.

The purpose of this study is to develop virtual reality education content for the cultivation of music appreciation ability. Under this goal, the investigator designed the study in a structure of basics, designs, and results. Chapter 2 for the basics of the study examined the background of developing virtual reality education content, the concept and stages of raising music appreciation ability, and the principle of universal design for learning. Chapter 3 for the research design describes the nature of developing virtual reality education content to raise music appreciation ability, the eight courses of virtual reality education content to raise music appreciation ability, and the application of the universal design for learning principle to the development of virtual reality education content. Based on them, Chapter 4 for findings discussed the development of virtual reality education content to raise music appreciation ability in four paragraphs covering the teaching and learning principles to develop virtual reality education content for raising music appreciation ability, the content system of each teaching and learning course, the direction to develop a teaching and learning course, and assessment. Based on these findings, the study made the following proposals for a follow-up study: first, music subject educators should understand virtual reality education content in an approach of educational technology and conduct research on ways to apply it to teaching and learning; and secondly, music subject educators should be fully aware of the characteristics of music subject education in an approach of subject pedagogy and sophisticate the development process of music appreciation ability as the basis of singing, instrumental music, creation, and appreciation activities in music subject education.

At present, music teaching in junior high schools is gradually highlighting the importance and development trend of interactive teaching. This study provides an in-depth analysis of all aspects of interactive teaching of music in junior middle schools through a multi-faceted research perspective, providing richer insights and methods for improving the quality of teaching. The art of teacher-student interaction in junior high school music classroom teaching under the new curriculum reform was discussed, and the core role of interaction in teaching was explained in detail. Researchers have conducted in-depth studies on teacher-student interactive teaching strategies in junior high school music classes, providing more practical guidance for actual teaching. In terms of revealing the problems and countermeasures of music teaching in junior high schools, researchers have put forward more specific suggestions. In the process of in-depth exploration of interactive teaching of music in junior high schools, researchers realized the actual current situation of interactive teaching in online music classes and revealed various challenges and opportunities in online teaching. This article advocates improving the effectiveness of music teaching in junior middle schools through interactive teaching and injecting richer vitality into education. At the same time, researchers have focused on in-depth discussions on interactive teaching strategies in junior middle school music appreciation classes, providing systematic theoretical support for cultivating students' music appreciation abilities. They also paid attention to the application of interactive teaching models in junior high school music teaching, which provided profound inspiration for the construction of active interactive teaching models. Starting from the core literacy background, researchers conducted in-depth research on the interaction methods between teachers and students in junior high school music classes, and provided specific operational plans for the implementation of literacy education. Paying attention to the new form of teacher-student interaction in improving the musical literacy of junior high school students provides strong empirical research support for cultivating students' comprehensive literacy. Through in-depth research on the interactive teaching model of junior high school music classes, it provides experienced practical guidance for building a more interactive teaching framework. To sum up, the current research on interactive teaching of music in junior high schools involves many aspects such as teaching strategies, problems and countermeasures, online teaching, multimedia applications, and core competencies. These studies not only provide profound theoretical support for junior high school music teaching, but also provide rich experience and inspiration for practical teaching. In the future of music education, interactive teaching will continue to play a positive role in promoting, opening up broader possibilities for cultivating students' comprehensive literacy. Based on the latest references, this article conducts an in-depth study of interactive teaching methods of music in junior high schools, providing a solid theoretical foundation for subsequent research.

Appreciation and Dissemination of Chinese Paintings from a Cross-cultural Perspective Based on Information Diffusion Modeling

Abstract With a long history, profound cultural deposits, and diversified art types, Chinese painting is both an important part of traditional Chinese culture and a typical representative of traditional oriental art and culture. This article starts with the spirit of Chinese painting and aesthetic appreciation and then explores the significance of Chinese painting’s foreign dissemination and dissemination path. For the appreciation of Chinese paintings, the article designs an index system for assessing the appreciation ability of Chinese paintings, solves the weights of the indexes by using the optimal assignment method of distance estimation, and constructs a model for assessing the appreciation ability of Chinese paintings by combining with the cloud model. The Hidden Markov Model is used to establish an information diffusion model for Chinese painting dissemination, and the parameters of the model are estimated using the Great Likelihood Method. The quantitative analyses of Chinese painting appreciation ability, information diffusion effect, and satisfaction with communication effect were carried out with students from University S as the research subjects. The main factor of Chinese painting appreciation ability is emotional ability, which has a weight share of 26.74%. The comprehensive assessment cloud eigenvalue is (3.4714, 0.1462, 0.0348), which shows that the appreciation ability is good. When the state transfer probability is raised from 0.3 to 0.9, the increase in the number of Chinese painting communication nodes in 25s is 93.59%, and the satisfaction index of the audience for the communication effect of Chinese painting is 3.899. Combining with the information diffusion model, we can understand the change of communication nodes in Chinese paintings, which can provide a guide to enhance the communication effect of Chinese paintings.

The Path of Cultivating Music Appreciation Ability in Piano Education in Colleges and Universities in the Internet Era

Abstract With the Internet and AI technology development, piano education in colleges and universities faces innovative challenges. This study explores the effectiveness of the Internet-based teaching mode in enhancing students’ music appreciation ability. The study adopts a teaching model based on the Internet and AI technology, combining automatic composition, arranging and piano concerto repertoire sessions, and AI+professional teachers’ collaborative evaluation. By implementing a creative thinking teaching module, including pre-course preparation, classroom training and presentation, and post-course communication, the study aimed to improve students’ music appreciation and creative thinking skills. The study results showed that students demonstrated significant improvement in music appreciation skills. The data showed that students who participated in the new teaching model showed an average of 25% improvement in music appreciation skills assessment. In addition, students’ creative thinking skills were also enhanced, with 85% of them demonstrating a high level of innovative music composition. The college piano education model integrating Internet and AI technologies significantly improves students’ music appreciation ability and creative thinking. This model enhances the interactivity and fun of teaching, provides students with a broader platform for musical understanding and practice, and offers new perspectives and methods for music education in colleges and universities.

A Multimodal Semantic Analysis of the Integration of Contemporary Literary Appreciation into College Teaching and Learning

Abstract With the development of the times, the cultivation of literary appreciation ability in the education system of colleges and universities has been gradually emphasized. This paper constructs a multimodal semantic analysis model based on text feature extraction, image feature extraction and audio feature extraction, and after fusing multiple modalities, combines them with sentiment semantic Analysis, optimizes them through the self-attention mechanism module, and finally constructs a sentiment semantic analysis model based on multimodal feature fusion. Through the performance analysis of the multimodal feature emotion semantic model, the algorithm model accuracy of this paper is as high as 89%, and the recognition accuracy of emotion is stable at about 80~85%. The multimodal sentiment semantic model proposed in this paper has an accuracy rate higher than 80% on literature appreciation related datasets. In the empirical evidence of literature appreciation, the average recognition accuracy rate of emotions expressed in literature is 62.80%. The study provides an achievable path for the multimodal semantic Analysis of contemporary literature appreciation integrated into college teaching, which is of practical significance for developing literature appreciation teaching in colleges and universities.

Exploring the Role of Traditional Music Elements in Music Art Appreciation

Abstract Music appreciation class is to appreciate and evaluate musical works through listening, experiencing, exploring and evaluating, so as to cultivate students’ aesthetic perception ability and music cultural literacy. This paper examines the relationship between music emotion and music elements, selects traditional music elements that have a significant impact on people’s perception of music emotion for labeling, and creates a data set. Then, based on the emotional characteristics of music elements, the role mechanism of traditional music elements in music art appreciation was explored. Based on the coupling model, we also explored the law of time evolution of the coupling system of “traditional elements-music empathy level.” Traditional music elements have a significant positive correlation (P=0.0021) with students’ empathy in music appreciation, as demonstrated in the results. The results show that students’ music appreciation ability can be significantly enhanced through the synergy of excellent traditional Chinese music elements in music and art appreciation, which can help them to establish a correct worldview, outlook on life, and values.

Exploring the Teaching Reform of Music Appreciation Course in Polytechnic Institutions Combined with Students’ Memory Characteristics

Abstract With the development of the times, the cultivation of students’ comprehensive ability has been widely emphasized, among which the cultivation of music appreciation ability is more and more important. The purpose of this paper is to develop a framework for a multi-intelligences music appreciation ‘immersion’ teaching mode, which is based on the teaching reform of the music appreciation course. Our process involved collecting and pre-processing data related to music emotion, extracting music emotion features, and building a model for music emotion appreciation using long and short-term memory networks. The construction of a multi-featured memory network knowledge tracking model involved cross-fertilizing students’ responses to music appreciation difficulty and ability. Through the effect test of the memory network knowledge tracking model and the practical analysis of music appreciation curriculum reform, it can be seen that the average effect of the knowledge tracking model proposed in this paper is higher than that of the traditional knowledge tracking model by 0.15~0.21. The total score of the experimental class’s music appreciation ability is 10.21, while the control class’s score is 7.78, and the experimental class based on the teaching music appreciation curriculum of multiple intelligences is higher than that of the control class by 2.43%. This paper provides a reform direction for the teaching reform of music appreciation courses based on the multiple intelligences music appreciation teaching program, which is of practical significance for the development of music appreciation teaching.

Exploration on the Application of Digital Resources in High School Art Appreciation Teaching

With the progress of science and technology, China's society has entered the era of digitization and informatization. Applying digital resources to high school art appreciation teaching can enrich art-teaching resources, make teaching forms more vivid and intuitive, greatly improve the teaching efficiency of art appreciation, and build an efficient art classroom. In addition, this can also create a relaxed teaching atmosphere and cultivate students' aesthetic appreciation ability. The application of digital resources in high school art appreciation teaching is an inevitable trend of teaching reform and development in the new era. Based on this, this paper first analyzes the application value of digitalization in high school art appreciation teaching, and then specifically elaborates on the innovative application path of digital resources.

Removal and fluorescence detection of antibiotics from wastewater by layered double oxides/metal-organic frameworks with different topological configurations

Owing to the serious potential side-effects on the environment and human health, the rapid detection and removal of antibiotics have become an important research focus. In this work, four zinc-based metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) with different functional groups, i.e., Zn-MOF, Zn-MOF-CH3, Zn-MOF-NO2, Zn-MOF-COOH, were utilized for the construction of LDO/MOF composite materials with a nickel-iron-cobalt-based layered double oxide, NiFeCo-LDO. The results showed that the LDO/MOF composites not only had high sensitivity in detecting sulfonamide and quinolone antibiotics, but also had an appreciable ability to adsorb them from wastewater. The maximum adsorption capacities of all the four types of LDO@Zn-MOFs to all antibiotics can at least reach 150 mg/g, and the limits of detection in relation to all four antibiotics were at least as low as 100 µg/L. Our work suggested the dual-function extraction performance can be attributed to the synergistic effects between the LDO and the MOFs. Moreover, the strong ferromagnetism derived from the LDO provided great convenience for the separation and regeneration of the LDO/MOF composites.

Case-based music teaching practice for lower grades: taking SCH patients as an example

BackgroundMusic education plays an important role in primary and secondary school teaching, not only cultivating students’ artistic appreciation ability, but also having potential therapeutic value. For special groups, such as patients with schizophrenia, music education may provide a way for them to express and communicate, thereby promoting mental health. This study is based on actual cases and discusses the intervention effect of music on mental illness patients in primary and secondary schools.Subjects and MethodsThis study selected 60 primary and secondary school age group schizophrenia patients and designed a specific music education course for 12 weeks. This course includes music appreciation, vocal music, and instrument training. The effectiveness is measured through the Minnesota Multiple Personality Inventory (MMPI), music composition assessment, and feedback from parents and teachers. Statistical analysis was performed on experimental data using SPSS 24.0.ResultsAfter the course, participants showed significant progress in emotional expression, social interaction, and self-awareness. Music education not only enhances their music skills, but also promotes communication and self understanding with others. Parents and teachers have also reported that students perform more stably and positively in their daily lives.ConclusionsCase-based music teaching in primary and secondary schools has significant benefits for patients with schizophrenia. Through music education, these students can better communicate with the outside world, express themselves, and have a deeper understanding of themselves. Soil acidification and salinity: the importance of biochar application to agricultural soils.

Soil acidity is a serious problem in agricultural lands as it directly affects the soil, crop production, and human health. Soil acidification in agricultural lands occurs due to the release of protons (H+) from the transforming reactions of various carbon, nitrogen, and sulfur-containing compounds. The use of biochar (BC) has emerged as an excellent tool to manage soil acidity owing to its alkaline nature and its appreciable ability to improve the soil's physical, chemical, and biological properties. The application of BC to acidic soils improves soil pH, soil organic matter (SOM), cation exchange capacity (CEC), nutrient uptake, microbial activity and diversity, and enzyme activities which mitigate the adverse impacts of acidity on plants. Further, BC application also reduce the concentration of H+ and Al3+ ions and other toxic metals which mitigate the soil acidity and supports plant growth. Similarly, soil salinity (SS) is also a serious concern across the globe and it has a direct impact on global production and food security. Due to its appreciable liming potential BC is also an important amendment to mitigate the adverse impacts of SS. The addition of BC to saline soils improves nutrient homeostasis, nutrient uptake, SOM, CEC, soil microbial activity, enzymatic activity, and water uptake and reduces the accumulation of toxic ions sodium (Na+ and chloride (Cl-). All these BC-mediated changes support plant growth by improving antioxidant activity, photosynthesis efficiency, stomata working, and decrease oxidative damage in plants. Thus, in the present review, we discussed the various mechanisms through which BC improves the soil properties and microbial and enzymatic activities to counter acidity and salinity problems. The present review will increase the existing knowledge about the role of BC to mitigate soil acidity and salinity problems. This will also provide new suggestions to readers on how this knowledge can be used to ameliorate acidic and saline soils.
