Implementation of problem based learning model to improve students' understanding of reforestation and disaster mitigation

This study aims to determine students' understanding of greening and disaster mitigation through the application of problem-based learning model. This research is a quantitative descriptive research. This research was conducted in grade 7 of SMP Negeri Poopo, Rayonapo District, South Minahasa Regency. The results showed that students' understanding of reforestation and disaster mitigation with respondents who became sample members as many as 42 students, as many as 11 students (26%) in the very good category, 20 students (48%) in the good category, 10 students (24%) in the good enough category, 1 student (2%) in the less good category. This means that with problem-based learning, students have a very good understanding of reforestation and disaster mitigation.

The Effect of Problem Based Learning (PBL) Learning Model on Students' Argumentation Ability on Salt Hydrolysis Material

The application of problem-based learning model teaches students how to deal with problems and find solutions by expressing opinions and providing logical justification for real problems, so it is expected to improve students' argumentation skills. This study aims to determine the effect of problem-based learning model on students' argumentation skills on salt hydolysis material. This study was carried out in the even semester of the 2022/2023 academic year at MAN 2 Kampar, class XI IPA.Pretest-posttest Non-Equivalent Control Grub Design was the experimental design for this study, which used quasi-experimental methods. The sample consisted of XI IPA1 students as the experimental class and XI IPA2 as the control class. Data collected to measure students argumentation skills through tests and observations and analyzed using t-test and coefficient of determination test in SPSS 24. In the t-test, the Sig (2-tailed) = 0.000 outcome is more modest than 0.05, and that implies H0 is dismissed and Ha is accepted. For the determination test, the value (r2) = 0.284 is obtained, it can be concluded that the problem-based learning model affects students argumentation skills on salt hydrolysis material by 28.4%.

Peningkatan Aktivitas Belajar Dan Hasil Belajar Siswa Pada Materi Hak Asasi Manusia Dalam Terang Kitab Suci Dan Ajaran Gereja Dengan Model Problem Based Learning (PBL) Pada Siswa Kelas XI Saint John Catholic School

Good education is the main foundation for the progress of a nation. In the era of globalization and intensified competition, the good education is the key to prepare the young generation to face the challenges of the future. Through the good education, young people are given the opportunity to develop their creative thinking, problem-solving and technological skills needed in the face of a rapidly changing world. Furthermore, good education is also an important pillar in a democratic system. Young people who receive a good education tend to have the ability to think critically, analyzing information, and participate actively in the political process. Recognising the importance of education, the Indonesian nation pays much more attention to the issue of education, even the objectives are increasingly refined. This is in accordance with the provisions contained in the preamble of the 1945 Constitution. Broadly speaking, education is an effort to educate the nation's life in order to become a whole human being with the spirit of Pancasila. The Law of the Republic of Indonesia No. 20 of 2003 on the National Education System also states as follows: "National education functions to develop abilities and form the character and civilisation of a dignified nation in order to educate the nation's life, aims to develop the potential of students to become human beings who are faithful and devoted to God Almighty, have noble character, are healthy, knowledgeable, capable, creative, independent, and become democratic and responsible citizens". Realising how important the value of education is for human life, the researcher feels called to conduct research on educational issues that occur in the school where the researcher works as an educator, namely Saint John Catholic High School, BSD. This research was conducted to determine the extent to which the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model has an impact on the learning process at Saint John Catholic School High School both in activity and student learning outcomes.  This process will be conducted in two stages, namely cycle I and cycle II. In each cycle there will be four steps: action planning, action implementation, observation and reflection. The implementation of cycle I ended with a reflection that showed that student activity and student learning outcomes had not yet achieved results in accordance with the minimum standards set. The reflection carried out in cycle I is the basis for evaluation for improvement in the action process in cycle II. In the process of class action in cycle II, the results were known to be very good, thus the action process stopped in cycle II. The satisfactory results in cycle II are the basis for making the conclusion that the application of problem-based learning models is very suitable for improving learning activities and learning outcomes of Saint John Catholic School grade XI students.

The Application of Problem-Based Learning Model to Improve Learning Outcomes of Hindu Religious and Character (Budi Pekerti) Education of Fifth-Grade Students at SD Mahardika

The Hindu religious education learning process should be designed systematically to achieve the objectives (1) to develop and improve the quality of Sraddha (belief) and Bhakti (piety) of the people through providing, emphasizing, appreciating, and practicing the Hindu religious teachings, and (2) building a Hindu society that can realize the Moksartham Jagathita values in its life. Based on the pretest results in October on the student learning outcomes of Hindu religious and character (Budi Pekerti) education of fifth-grade students at SD Mahardika Denpasar, it showed that the level of student learning completeness was still below the Minimum Completeness Criteria (KKM). The cause of the low learning completeness values of students was that it was below the Minimum Completeness Criteria (KKM). It can be identified from most students who still have difficulty and often forget to understand the subject matter provided. The reason was that the teacher still functions as the primary source of learning that provides knowledge to students instead of being a student facilitator. Students only pay attention to explanations, accept the teacher’s examples, and are never directly involved in solving problems. This study aimed to determine how the best implementation of applying the Problem-Based Learning model improves the learning outcomes of Hindu religious and character (Budi Pekerti) education in fifth-grade students at SD Mahardika Denpasar. The research method used in this study was the Classroom Action Research (PTK) method. The research was conducted in several stages or cycles. Reflection on cycle I was carried out to determine the steps for improvement in cycle II. Based on the evaluation data of student learning outcomes that have been carried out from activities in cycle I and cycle II showed a significant increase. The evaluation results of the learning outcomes of fifth-grade students at SD Mahardika Denpasar in the 2022/2023 academic year showed an increase in the student learning outcomes in Hindu religious and character (Budi Pekerti) education lessons.

Application of Problem-based Learning Models Assisted By Liveworksheets Towards Students' Mathematical Creative Thinking Ability

The ability to think creatively mathematically of students is relatively low.The purpose of this research is to determine whether employing the Liveworksheets-assisted Problem Based Learning technique influences students' mathematics ability to think creatively. This study used quantitative research methods and a non-equivalent post-test only control group design. The sampling technique employs non-probability sampling. The sample for this study consisted of two classes with 71 students.The normality and homogeneity tests are used in quantitative research as part of the preconditioning test. In this study, the hypothesis was tested using an independent sample test. This study's findings illustrate students' mathematics creative thinking ability in experimental classrooms influenced by the usage of the Problem Based Learning model using liveworksheets. This demonstrates that the experimental class's students have a greater potential for mathematical creative thinking ability than the control class.The application of problem based learning models assisted by liveworksheets influences the student’s mathematical creative thinking ability.

Effectiveness of Problem-Based Learning Model on Critical Thinking Ability in Financial Management Course

The purpose of this research is to analyze effectiveness of problem-based learning model on critical thinking ability in financial management course. This type of research applies a quantitative approach. Population in the study are students at Medan City Private Universities. Based on needs and cost efficiency, sample in this study is 30 respondents. Hypothesis testing uses partial test. The research results show that application of problem-based learning model is felt to be quite effective in making students more active in participating in learning, thereby fostering students' ability to think critically in financial management courses. Statistically, it shows that  problem-based learning model has a significant effect on critical thinking ability in financial management course.

Integrated Science Learning Devices on Substances and Their Characteristics Material with Character Enrichment Through the Application of Problem-Based Learning

Purpose of the study: The purpose of this study is how to find out the process of developing learning devices using the PBL model with character enrichment in the substance material and its characteristics which were developed according to experts. Methodology: The research design used by researchers is a quantitative research type of quasi-experimental design using a pretest-posttest control group design. It is done to investigate causal hypotheses about causation that can be manipulated by comparing one or more experimental groups that are treated with one comparison group that is not treated. Main Findings: Based on the analysis of the data and the discussion above, it can be concluded that the students' ability in science subjects on the substance and its characteristics is in the good category. This shows that the application of problem-based learning models can improve students' thinking skills. This is reinforced by testing the hypothesis through the independent sample t-test that there is a significant difference between before being given treatment and after being given treatment Novelty/Originality of this study: Following the era of the industrial revolution 5.0, character-based learning must be developed. Therefore, this research produces science learning tools with problem-based learning in the material and its characteristics.

Application of Problem-Based Learning Model (PBL) as an Effort to Overcome Misconceptions in Black Body Radiation Material

Physics cannot be separated from things that are conceptual. The concept of physics is a description or definition of the physical variables that exist in events in the universe. It's just that, often there is a problem in students' understanding of concepts where there is a discrepancy between the definitions that are understood and those conveyed by experts. This problem is called a misconception. Misconceptions can occur because the concepts that students understand through observation of everyday events are different from the theories obtained in the learning process in class, one of which is on black body radiation material. One learning model that can overcome misconceptions is a problem-based learning model or Problem Based Learning (PBL). The purpose of this study was to reduce misconceptions about black body radiation and to determine the effectiveness of PBL in overcoming misconceptions about black body radiation. This research is a type of experimental research using a pre-experimental design pre-test post-test group. The results showed that PBL can reduce misconceptions and is quite effective as an effort to reduce misconceptions about black body radiation material marked with an N-Gain value of 0.55.

Improving Student Motivation and Learning Outcomes Through the Application of Problem-Based Learning Models in Mathematics Learning Specialization

Teachers as educational professionals have an important role in the teaching and learning process. Teachers must be able to explain their knowledge to their students through managing learning by applying teaching approaches and models that are appropriate to the subject matter and cognitive level of students. aims to improve the mathematics learning abilities of XI IPA 2 students at SMAN 7 Sigi even semester for the 2022/2023 academic year in the basic competence "Analyzing division and factorization of polynomials" using Problem-Based Learning. This study used classroom action research with a sample of 37 people consisting of 9 men and 28 women with data collection techniques, namely 1) non-test techniques consisting of observation and documentation, and 2) test techniques. Data validity was carried out through source triangulation and method triangulation with data analysis techniques. The data analysis techniques used in this study are non-test techniques and learning achievement tests. The results of this study indicate that 1) the application of the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) learning model that is used as a model in this learning is in fact capable of increasing residual learning motivation in mathematics learning specialization class XI IPA 2 SMAN 7 Sigi even semester of the 2022/2023 academic year; 2) The application of the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) learning model that is used as a model in this learning is in fact able to improve the remaining learning outcomes in mathematics learning specialization for class XI IPA 2 SMAN 7 Sigi even semester of the 2022/2023 academic year; 3) The application of the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) learning model that is used as a model in this learning is in fact able to increase motivation and residual learning outcomes in mathematics learning specialization class XI IPA 2 SMAN 7 Sigi even semester of the 2022/2023 academic year

Improving Script Writing Skills through the Application of Problem-Based Learning Model

This study aims to improve the script writing skills of students in grade VIII Junior High School using the problem based learning model. This study is a classroom action research. The research was carried out in class VIII in one of the junior high schools in the city of Solo, from January to March 2023. The data sources used are documents and field notes from the researchers' observations. Data analysis techniques with observation, in-depth interviews, tests or assignments and document analysis. Data validity by trianggulation of data sources, trianggulation of methods, and review of informants. The results of the study can be concluded that there was 1) an increase in the completeness score of script writing skills from 63.64% to 100%, 2) there was an increase in the average score of student script writing from 74.32 to 86.64.

Aplication of the TikTok Assisted Problem-Based Learning Model on Straight-Line Equations

This study aims to see how the application of the problem-based learning model was assisted by the TikTok application on straight-line equations. This research was qualitative research using a descriptive approach. The subjects in this study were 19 class VIII-I students of SMPN 9 Bayung Lencir. The data obtained in this study were analyzed through several stages, namely reducing data, presenting data, and verifying data or drawing conclusions. The research instruments used were tests and interviews. The results of the study show that students enjoy participating in the learning process using the problem-based learning model and learning videos using the TikTok application. The results of the interviews concluded that students felt happy and enthusiastic about learning straight-line equations material because the application of problem-based learning models and learning videos using the TikTok application was their first experience and was a pleasant experience. In addition, the advantage of using learning videos using the TikTok application is that learning videos can be played back anytime and anywhere so students find it helpful when they want to repeat learning material. Furthermore, the results of observations made by the teacher concluded that the use of video learning based on the TikTok application was able to make students more focused, and more active and students were not sleepy during the learning process

Study of Communication Skills Analysis of SMK Students in Science Subjects with the Application of Problem-Based Learning Models

Communication is a skill needed by students to prepare for social life. This study aims to analyze the communication skills of Vocational High School students by implementing the Problem Based Learning model. This type of research is a classroom action research (CAR) consisting of two cycles. The research was conducted at one of the vocational schools in the Cerenti District, Kuantan Singingi Regency. The subjects of this study were 24 students, consisting of 20 female and 4 male students. Data collection technique using observation assisted by two observers. The results showed that there was an overall improvement in aspects of communication skills from cycle one to cycle two. Based on these results, applying the Problem Based Learning model can improve the communication skills of Vocational High School students.

PENERAPAN MODEL PROJECT BASED LEARNING UNTUK MENINGKATKAN HASIL BELAJAR SISWA PADA MATA PELAJARAN MATEMATIKA

The problem that occurred in the classroom action research conducted was regarding mathematics, where mathematics is considered a subject that is quite difficult to understand and understand. So that the value obtained from the learning outcomes of students has not reached the minimum completeness criteria (KKM) or has not met the complete category. The research conducted aims to improve student learning outcomes in mathematics through the application of project based learning learning models. The type of research used is in the form of classroom action research and the approach used in this classroom action research is a combination of qualitative and quantitative approaches, while the data collection technique uses test and non-test techniques. The results and discussion regarding classroom action research through the application of problem-based learning models in mathematics subjects can improve student learning outcomes. So that the learning outcomes of the students were shown by the presentation of the mastery of the learning outcomes of the students which increased from cycle I to cycle II, where the percentage in cycle one was 63.7% while in cycle II it was 92.4%.

Penerapan Model Pembelajaran Berbasis Masalah untuk Meningkatkan Pemahaman Konsep Segi Empat pada Siswa Kelas VII MTs Islam Darunnadwah Tahun Pelajaran 2022/2023

The implementation of learning so far has only been carried out by teachers by providing material conventionally, this has happened during learning at MTs. Darunnadwah Islam which has an impact on the lack of activity and interest of students when learning Mathematics in class, the lack of students' ability to absorb and understand the material provided by the teacher is shown in the low student learning outcomes. The purpose of this study was to find out how the application of problem-based learning models can improve the understanding of the quadrilateral concept in class VII MTs students. Islamic Darunnadwah for the 2022/2023 academic year. This type of research is Classroom Action Research (CAR), which consists of two cycles. The instruments used are observation sheets and tests. From the research that has been done, it shows that there is an increase in students' understanding of concepts, namely in cycle I the average score of students' understanding test results is 75.00 with a completeness percentage of 67.65% because their classical mastery has not yet reached an indicator of success in research, namely 85%, so it is continued to cycle II. Whereas in cycle II the average student understanding test result was 76.29 with 91.17% completeness. For data analysis of student learning activities increased from quite active to very active, so that in this study it was concluded that the application of a problem-based learning model could increase the understanding of the quadrilateral concept in class VII MTs students. KEMAMPUAN SISWA DALAM MENULIS TEKS DEBAT DENGAN PENERAPAN MODEL PROBLEM BASED LEARNING UNTUK PENINGKATAN BERPIKIR KRITIS PADA SISWA KELAS X SMAN 9 BANDUNG

 
 This research is motivated by the low ability of students in writing and the difficulty of students in writing, especially in writing debate text. One of the factors that cause this is that students find it difficult to determine the first word, besides that students are also unable to express their ideas. As well as the lack of use of innovative and creative learning models by educators. One of the learning models that can be used is, problem-based learning model can be used as an alternative to be used in learning to write debate text. The purpose of this study was to determine the ability of students in writing debate text with the application of the Problem Based Learning model. The approach used in this research is a quantitative approach. The results of this study will discuss the data that the authors have collected from the subjects and objects of research, the results of data processing, and data processing analysis. The author has compiled the results of this study after conducting research on class X students. there are X-4 classes as experimental classes and X-5 classes as control classes. The average results of the experimental class prates were 55.96 which then increased in the post-test average results to 76.92 with a percentage increase of 37.4%. While the average result of the control class prates was 53.27 which increased in the post-test average of 69.61 with a percentage increase of only 29%. Judging from the average value data that the author has found, it can be concluded that experimental class students are better able to write debate texts with the application of problem-based learning models. In addition, through the use of problem-based learning models can also improve students' critical thinking skills with a percentage difference of 10.5%.

Problem Solving Ability of Junior High School Students Through the Application of Problem Based Learning Model on Simple Aircraft Material Seen from Gender Differences

The purpose of the study was to describe the profile of students' problem-solving skills through the application of problem-based learning models in terms of gender differences. This type of research is descriptive qualitative research. The research population was students of class VIII A SMPN 19 Bengkulu Selatan. The research instrument used was a problem-solving skills test. The data collection technique used a test in the form of a description question. Data analysis techniques using descriptive statistics. The results showed that, the average of female students' completeness results increased by 72.5, and the average of male students' indicator completeness increased by 73.5 This shows that, male students' problem-solving skills are greater than female students. The average value of male students is 0.36, with a moderate category, and the average value of female students is 0.48, with a moderate category. This shows that there are differences in problem solving skills between male students and female students. The conclusion in this study is that female students' problem-solving skills are higher than male students.

Rendahnya Motivasi Belajar Matematika Siswa Kelas VC SDN 34/1 Teratai

Educational goals will be achieved with quality learning. To improve the quality of learning requires efforts to achieve it. There are various subjects that can improve the quality of education at every level of formal education, namely mathematics. Mathematics is a subject that is related to arithmetic and concrete or abstract thinking. The purpose of this writing is to analyze the application of problem-based learning models to increase the motivation to learn mathematics in fifth grade elementary school students. The type of research used is Classroom Action Research at SD Negeri 34/I Teratai. The results obtained for the motivation of students in SDN 34/I Teratai, especially the VC class can be classified as having a low level of motivation in mathematics. This low motivation can be caused by the low motivation to study in class VC SDN 34/I Teratai. The conclusion from this research is to increase the learning motivation of students, an effort is needed, for example, by using a learning model that is appropriate to the learning material. The material for netting cubes and blocks can be done by applying the PBL learning model which is based on problems and students are asked to solve these problems with the assistance of the teacher as a facilitator.

Application of Problem-based Learning Model to Improve Students' Problem-solving Skills of Class VII-E SMP Negeri 25 Malang

The purpose of this study was to improve students’ mathematical problem-solving skills on the material of numbers through the problem-based learning model in class VII-E of SMP Negeri 25 Malang. Classroom action research (CAR) was applied in this study. The study was carried out on 28 students of class VII-E of SMP Negeri 25 Malang. This research was conducted in 2 cycles. Results from the first cycle of classical completeness tests of 64.29% increased to 85.71% in the second cycle. In the first cycle, the highest problem-solving aspect was obtained in the aspect of understanding the problem with a percentage of 83.93% and categorized as complete, while the lowest problem-solving aspect was obtained in the re-examining aspect with a percentage of 59.29% and categorized as incomplete. In the second cycle, the highest problem-solving aspect was obtained in the aspect of understanding the problem with a percentage of 92.86% and categorized as complete, while the lowest problem-solving aspect was obtained in the re-examining aspect with a percentage of 70.24% and categorized as incomplete. It is possible to say that students’ ability to solve mathematical problems had increased in the class VII-E of SMP Negeri 25 Malang during the academic year of 2022/2023, allowing the problem-based learning model to be used as an alternative method to improve students’ ability to solve mathematical problems.

Application of Problem-based Learning in Efforts to Build Mathematical Literacy Skills

Mathematical literacy ability is the ability that a person has in formulating, using, and interpreting mathematics in a variety of concepts. From the results of diagnostic tests conducted at the beginning of the 7.1 grade learning year at SMPN 3 Malang, it was found that more than 50% of students were not maximal in applying mathematical concepts in solving a mathematical problem. This can happen due to a misunderstanding of the problem or also a mathematical concept that is not used to being used. The use of learning by using problem-based learning, which is carried out in 2 cycles and discusses material regarding number operations (multiplication and division of integers) is applied to build students’ mathematical literacy skills on number operations material. This study contains actions that are adapted to the syntax of problem-based learning and indicators at level 2-3 PISA mathematical literacy abilities. The results of this study applying the problem-based learning model adapted to the PISA mathematical literacy ability indicators obtained a very significant increase in score from 50.01 to 91.43 and at the evaluation stage, the results increased from 44% to 75.86%. It can be stated that the application of problem-based learning model if adapted to PISA’s mathematical literacy ability indicators can build mathematical literacy skills.

PENGARUH PENERAPAN MODEL PEMBELAJARAN PROBLEM BASED LEARNING TERHADAP KEMAMPUAN PEMECAHAN MASALAH MATEMATIS PESERTA DIDIK KELAS VIII

This study was conducted to acquire the ability of mathematical problem solving of student in mathematics, the part of learning mathematics, conducted at SMPN 1 Batusangkar. The result of the first test of math problem-solving skills was that the student did not solve the problem well. One solution to overcome this is the application of problem-based learning models. The research results shown that mathematical problem-solving skills who learn to use problem-based learning outperform those who learn to use direct learning. Initial tests of mathematics problem-solving ability shown that the students did not solve the problem well. One attempt to overcome this is the use model of problem-based learning. The research result shown that those who learn to use problem-based learning have better problem-solving skills in mathematics than those who learn to use direct learning. Keywords. – Problem Based Learning, The Ability of Mathematical Problem Solving
