Magnetic nanoparticles (MNPs) are advanced materials that combine the unique properties of magnetic materials and nanoscale dimensions, enabling a wide range of applications in biomedicine, environmental science, and information technology. This review provides a comprehensive yet accessible introduction to the fundamental principles, characterization techniques, and diverse applications of MNPs, with a focus on their nanoscale magnetic properties, such as superparamagnetism, single-domain behavior, and surface effects. It also delves into their classification and the critical role of parameters like magnetic anisotropy and blocking temperature. Emphasis is placed on routine characterization methods, including X-ray diffraction, electron microscopy, and magnetometry, as well as advanced concepts like magnetic hyperthermia and self-regulated heating. Factors affecting cash flow management activities of textile and garment enterprises in Vietnam

Purpose: This study shows the level of influence of factors on cash flow management activities of enterprises through survey and recovery analysis from data of 50 Vietnamese garment enterprises. Design/Methodology/Approach: The article uses two basic research methods including: qualitative and quantitative research. In which, the qualitative method is to synthesize research works related to the article, thereby determining the research hypothesis. The quantitative method is implemented on the basis of building a scale for 7 factors affecting cash flow management activities and surveyed and analyzed data from 50 textile and garment enterprises in Vietnam to test the published hypotheses. Findings: The results show that 5 out of 7 factors have an impact on cash flow management activities of listed textile and garment enterprises in Vietnam, including: sales policy (SP), inventory management policy (IMP), payment policy with suppliers (PPS), enterprise size (ES) and level of information technology application in cash flow management (LIC). Conclusion: In particular, sales policy is the strongest impact factor, the ability to apply information technology has the weakest impact, in particular, inventory management policy has a negative impact on cash flow management activities. Research Limitations/Implications: From the results of this research, the author suggested for Vietnamese textile and garment enterprises in cash flow management activities. Practical Implications: This research result is completely consistent with previous domestic and foreign studies. Contribution to Literature: The study provides necessary information to help Vietnamese textile and garment enterprises improve cash flow management in the coming time.

Nanowrinkle waveguide in graphene for enabling secure Dirac fermion transport

Abstract Localized states in graphene have garnered significant attention in quantum information science due to their potential applications. Despite graphene’s superior transport and electronic properties compared to other semiconductors, achieving nanoscale confinement remains challenging due to its gapless nature. In this study, we explore the unique transport properties along nanowrinkles in monolayer graphene. We demonstrate the creation of a one-dimensional conduction channel by alternating pseudomagnetic fields along the nanowrinkle, enabling ballistic Dirac fermion transport without leakage. This suggests a feasible method for secure quantum information transfer over long distances. Furthermore, we extend our analysis to bent nanowrinkles, showcasing well-guided Dirac fermion propagation unless the bent angle is sufficiently large. Our demonstration of the nanowrinkle waveguide in graphene introduces a novel approach to controlling Dirac fermion transport through strain engineering, for quantum information technology applications.

Technology and the Labour Process: Insights from Indian E-Commerce Warehouses

Abstract In the context of innovation in and the application of information and communication technology (ICT), this article seeks to understand how ICT-enabled tools, including algorithmic processing interfaces, cloud computing software, QR codes and barcodes, have become a new managerial equipment for organising, controlling, and disciplining the labour force in the warehouses of e-commerce enterprises in India. This article engages with labour process theory which accords analytical importance to technology in organising work, for managerial control and disciplinary regimes in furtherance of capital accumulation. The evidence here derives from four month’s field work in 2022–23 from Bangalore in south India. Data were generated from 74 semi-structured interviews with employees of, principally, Amazon and Flipkart. The major findings are that an integrated, digitised control system operating in tandem with direct human supervision, ensures the simultaneous processing of products orders and the monitoring of workers’ performance. Further, it investigates how they contribute to work intensification and exacerbated job-related insecurities and vulnerabilities. The outcome is extreme work intensity and the creation of new forms of worker insecurity and vulnerability.

Electromagnetic and optical properties of Na, Mg, and Al-adsorbed stanene nanoribbons: potential applications

Density functional theory (DFT) combined with the Viennaab initiosimulation package (VASP) was used to investigate the electronic, magnetic, and optical properties of one-dimensional stanene nanoribbons (SnNRs) and Na, Mg, and Al-adsorbed SnNRs. The SnNRs, with a width of 10 Sn atoms and hydrogen-passivated edges, retained their hexagonal honeycomb structure after structural optimization. Both pristine and adsorbed SnNRs exhibit narrow band gap semiconducting behavior, with pristine SnNRs being non-magnetic and adsorbed SnNRs showing non-zero magnetic moments. Partial density of states analysis revealed multi-orbital hybridization contributing to the formation ofπandσbonds. Optical property analysis highlighted distinct differences between pristine and adsorbed systems, including optical anisotropy and wavelength-dependent absorption. These results indicate the potential of SnNRs for applications in optical information technology, sensors and photocatalysis.

Multi-functional broadband diffractive neural network with a single spatial light modulator

Diffractive neural networks (DNNs) are emerging as a novel optical computing architecture that combines wave optics with deep-learning methods for high-speed parallel information processing. Herein, we report a reflection type, multi-functional, broadband DNN design. It consists of two phase-modulation layers based on a single spatial light modulator and a mirror facing it. The power efficiency of this design is more than 16 times higher than that of the cascaded structure utilizing beam splitters. It can function either as a two-layer DNN or a one-layer DNN with the other serving as an information input layer. Single- and dual-wavelength filtering and focusing, as well as spatial wavelength demultiplexing of supercontinuum, are experimentally demonstrated using the two-layer DNN, whereas the one-layer DNN is experimentally demonstrated by the classification of hand-written digits, which are input by the first layer via holographic imaging. The designed DNN could operate independently or be readily integrated with other optical systems and may find applications in spectroscopy, microscopy, and information technology.

The quantum anomalous Hall effect in two-dimensional hexagonal monolayers studied by first-principles calculations.

The quantum anomalous Hall effect (QAHE) demonstrates the potential for achieving quantized Hall resistance without the need for an external magnetic field, making it highly promising for reducing energy loss in electronic devices. Its realization and research rely heavily on precise first-principles calculations, which are essential for analyzing the electronic structures and topological properties of novel two-dimensional (2D) materials. This review article explores the theoretical progress of QAHE in 2D hexagonal monolayers with strong spin-orbit coupling and internal magnetic ordering. We summarize current strategies and methods for realizing QAHE in these monolayers, focusing on material selection and fine-tuning to achieve stable QAHE at room temperature. We hope that this review will provide new perspectives for theoretical studies and enable researchers to more accurately predict materials with superior QAHE properties. Meanwhile, we anticipate that these theoretical advancements will further drive breakthroughs in experimental studies and promote its broader application in low-power electronic devices and quantum information technology.

Local Government Financial Performance: Challenges and Opportunities

The financial performance of local governments is an important indicator in assessing the efficiency and effectiveness of public resource management. This article discusses the challenges faced by local governments in improving financial performance, including issues of transparency, accountability, and suboptimal budget management. In addition, this study also identifies opportunities that can be utilized, such as the application of information technology in financial reporting systems and increasing human resource capacity. Using descriptive analysis and literature studies, the results of the study indicate that despite many challenges, there are a number of strategies that can be implemented to improve the financial performance of local governments, which in turn can support sustainable development and community welfare. This study is expected to provide insight for policy makers and stakeholders in formulating more effective policies.

Learning Innovation Together with Community: Inventing and Commercializing Slow-Release Organic Nano Fertilizer Pellets for Healthy and Sustainable Rice Agriculture

The village of Jagaraga, located in the Sawan district of Buleleng Regency, Bali Province, had significant potential in both culture and agriculture, particularly in rice farming. More than half of the village’s land area was rice fields, and over two-thirds of the villagers were rice farmers. However, ensuring healthy soils and crops through effective fertilizer solutions remained a major challenge. The aim of the community development initiative was to empower the village farmers to become innovative through collaborative learning and by inventing and commercializing a slow-release nano fertilizer. A participatory action and learning approach was used to engage the rice farming community. The Subak Babakan farmer organization and the local rice milling enterprise, PB Suwela Amertha, were involved in the empowerment activities, which included information sessions, training, technology application, guidance, evaluation, and sustainability planning. As a result, four formulas of slow-release organic nano fertilizers in pellet form were successfully developed. Additionally, a four-helix partnership involving academicians, the farmer community, enterprises, and the government was established to build a business platform for commercializing the innovation. Through this collaboration, academicians and community farmers successfully learned to address the primary challenges in rice agriculture innovatively while promoting sustainable practices to maintain the health of the land and the well-being of the villagers.

Designing a More Efficient Supply Chain for Agricultural Products with M-Commerce in Bangladesh

ABSTRACT The purpose of this study was to identify the root causes of inefficient supply chain management (SCM) for agricultural food items in Bangladesh. To achieve this goal, the study gathered the opinions of farmers as well as the perspectives of all relevant supply chain stakeholders. It was found that the application of information technology (IT) through mobile phones, namely m-commerce, could maintain a seamless flow of communication between farmers and retailers, effectively eliminating unnecessary middlemen.

In the context of rapid digitalization, many cafes, including Cafe Casa n Co Sub, face challenges in managing transactions that are still carried out manually, which is at high risk of recording errors and service delays. This research aims to develop a digital cashier application that can improve operational efficiency and recording accuracy in the café. The research method used is a case study with a qualitative approach. This data was collected through in-depth interviews with café owners and staff, direct observation of the operational process, and analysis of related documents. Techniques in data analysis are carried out thematically to identify patterns and provide recommendations for improvement. The results of the study show that the application of information technology in the form of a cashier application can support the management of cafes more professionally and efficiently.

Exploration of Demand-driven Training of Japanese Language Majors

This paper discusses the cultivation of Japanese language professionals based on demand-oriented talents, taking Zhaoqing College as an example. The demand for Japanese language professionals in Guangdong Province, especially in the Pearl River Delta region, is analysed through field research and online research. It is found that the demand for Japanese language talents in Guangdong Province is extensive and in-depth, especially in the fields of cross-border e-commerce and international trade. The article further discusses the industry demand and job requirements, pointing out that Japanese language professionals should have the ability to serve in diversified industry fields, as well as the comprehensive ability of cross-cultural communication and the application of modern information technology. Finally, the article proposes that the training of Japanese language professionals should be based on the strengthening of basic core courses to increase the number of professional skills and practical courses, pay attention to cross-composite courses, incorporate new technologies and information technology tools, and strengthen the cultivation of English proficiency in order to cultivate applied and composite Japanese language professionals who can meet the market demand.

Research on Intelligent Monitoring and Protection Equipment of Vital Signs of Underground Personnel in Coal Mines: Review.

The coal industry is a high risk, high difficulty industry, and the annual global mine accident rate is high, so the safety of coal mine underground operations has been a concern. With the development of technology, the application of intelligent security technology in coal mine safety has broad prospects. In this paper, the research progress of vital signs monitoring and support equipment for underground personnel in coal mines is reviewed. The two main methods to ensure the safety of miners are discussed. They consist of directly monitoring human vital signs through portable devices such as smart helmets and smartwatches and indirectly monitoring underground environmental parameters. In addition, the application of information technology, sensor technology and artificial intelligence in vital signs monitoring is briefly discussed, and some future research directions are proposed. For example, through big data and artificial intelligence technology, vital signs data can be compared with historical data, individual health trends and potential risks can be analyzed, and we can provide personalized health management programs for miners. These technologies not only improve the safety of underground coal mine operation, but also provide an important guarantee for the realization of intelligent and safe coal mine production.

Nowadays, people have entered the “Internet +” era where information technology has been further developed and widely used. Affected by this, all walks of life began to transform and upgrade in the direction of information, intelligence, and digitalization, and the education industry is naturally among them. Currently, the integration of information technology into China’s education field has been underway for some time, with notable improvements in teaching effectiveness. However, in the context of medical education in secondary vocational schools, the full potential of information technology has yet to be realized. This paper primarily analyzes and explores the significance, current status, and strategies for applying information technology in secondary vocational medical teaching, providing insights for reference.

CHARACTERISING THE KEY ELEMENTS AFFECTING RBT TEACHERS’ COMPETENCE IN TVET EDUCATION IN PENANG

In the subject of Design and Technology (RBT), the application of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) elements through technology applications can strengthen basic skills in a more effective learning process. Some issues arise as a result of the increase in technology, but there are gaps in the provision and support for teachers to adapt technology in their teaching. This study aims to identify the factors that cause RBT teachers to lack the skills to integrate technology into teaching practice and analyze the weaknesses of using technology in the classroom. Using qualitative research methods, five RBT teachers in Penang were interviewed. The results of the study found lack of knowledge, training and support, technology skills, as well as problems with devices and technology infrastructure to be the main obstacles. Despite the challenges, the findings of the study also show that the use of technology has great potential to increase the interest and effectiveness of teaching. This study suggests stakeholders to provide adequate equipment and more comprehensive training for RBT teachers. This study also contributes to the technology education literature by providing empirical evidence on the challenges faced as well as strategies to improve the use of technology in teaching.
