North Sumatra Province is set to host the 21st National Sports Week again, one of the sports buildings to be built is the Stadium for Aquatic Sports. This design approach is Metaphor architecture. This is to give the identity of the building. Planning principles by taking the formation of swimmers and water. The purpose of this study is to assess the success of the Aquatic Stadium building design with the application of international standards using the Metaphor Architecture Concept. The design focuses on the theme that has been determined and is included in the arrangement of aquatic sports arenas and other supporting facilities. The concept in this design is through the process of finding ideas about architectural data on the Aquatic Stadium from various sources of information. The research method is carried out by analysing and conceptualising the availability of data, and conducting a validation test of the design results with the metaphorical indicators used in planning. The result of this research is that it has followed the standards and the indicators given are in accordance with the design. The results of the research can be used as a building identity for the Deli Sport Centre area. Later this suitability, can be used as an output as a planning that provides regional identity.

Preparation of Financial Statements in Accordance with SAK EMKM in the UD Restu Jaya Cracker Business, Puger District, Jember Regency

This study aims to analyze the application of financial accounting standards for micro, small and medium entities (SAK EMKM) at UD Restu Jaya Puger. This research was conducted on MSMEs engaged in production, namely cracker production. This research uses a qualitative method with a type of descriptive approach. This research was carried out by obtaining data through observation, interviews and documentation. The results of this study show that UD Restu Jaya in its financial records is still manual and simple, because the owner has not understood how to prepare financial statements in accordance with SAK EMKM and there has been no socialization received related to the SAK EMKM that has been determined. This research is expected to provide information for MSME owners in implementing financial statements in accordance with SAK EMKM.

Standardization and clinical applications of retinal imaging biomarkers for cardiovascular disease: a Roadmap from an NHLBI workshop.

The accessibility of the retina with the use of non-invasive and relatively low-cost ophthalmic imaging techniques and analytics provides a unique opportunity to improve the detection, diagnosis and monitoring of systemic diseases. The National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute conducted a workshop in October 2022 to examine this concept. On the basis of the discussions at that workshop, this Roadmap describes current knowledge gaps and new research opportunities to evaluate the relationships between the eye (in particular, retinal biomarkers) and the risk of cardiovascular diseases, including coronary artery disease, heart failure, stroke, hypertension and vascular dementia. Identified gaps include the need to simplify and standardize the capture of high-quality images of the eye by non-ophthalmic health workers and to conduct longitudinal studies using multidisciplinary networks of diverse at-risk populations with improved implementation and methods to protect participant and dataset privacy. Other gaps include improving the measurement of structural and functional retinal biomarkers, determining the relationship between microvascular and macrovascular risk factors, improving multimodal imaging 'pipelines', and integrating advanced imaging with 'omics', lifestyle factors, primary care data and radiological reports, by using artificial intelligence technology to improve the identification of individual-level risk. Future research on retinal microvascular disease and retinal biomarkers might additionally provide insights into the temporal development of microvascular disease across other systemic vascular beds.

Dual-Layer Nanoengineered Urinary Catheters for Enhanced Antimicrobial Efficacy and Reduced Cytotoxicity.

Catheter-associated urinary tract infection (CAUTI) is the most common healthcare-associated infection; however, current therapeutic strategies remain insufficient for standard clinical application. A novel urinary catheter featuring a dual-layer nanoengineering approach using zinc (Zn) and silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) is successfully fabricated. This design targets microbial resistance, minimizes cytotoxicity, and maintains long-term efficacy. The inner AgNPs layer provides immediate antibacterial effects against the UTI pathogens, while the outer porous Zn layer controls zero-order Ag release and generates reactive oxygen species, thus enhancing long-term bactericidal performance. Enhanced antibacterial properties of Zn/AgNPs-coated catheters are observed, resulting in 99.9% of E. coli and 99.7% of S. aureus reduction, respectively. The Zn/AgNPs-coated catheter significantly suppresses biofilm with sludge formation compared to AgNP-coated and uncoated catheters (all, p<0.05). The Zn/AgNP-coated catheter in a rabbit model demonstrated a durable, effective barrier against bacterial colonization, maintaining antimicrobial properties during the catheter indwelling period with significantly reduced inflammation and epithelial disruption compared with AgNP and uncoated groups. This innovation has the potential to revolutionize the design of antimicrobial medical devices, particularly for applications requiring long-term implantation. Although further preclinical studies are required to verify its efficacy and safety, this strategy seems to be a promising approach to preventing CAUTI-related complications.

Real-time object detection, tracking, and monitoring framework for security surveillance systems

The concept of security is becoming a global challenge, and governments, stakeholders, corporate societies, and individuals must urgently create a reasonable protection mechanism for good. Therefore, a real-time surveillance system is essential for detection, tracking, and monitoring. Many studies have attempted to provide better solutions but more research and better approaches are essential. This study presents a real-time framework for object detection and tracking for security surveillance systems. The system has been designed based on approximate median filtering, component labeling, background subtraction, and deep learning approaches. The new algorithms for object detection, tracking, and recognition have been implemented using Python and integrated with C# programming languages for ease of use. A software application framework is designed, implemented, and evaluated. The experimental results based on MOT-Challenge performance metrics show that the proposed algorithms have much better performance in terms of accuracy and precision on the MOT15, MOT16, and MOT17 datasets compared to state-of-the-art approaches. This framework also provides an accurate and effective means of monitoring and recognizing moving objects. The software development, including the design of the framework user interfaces, is coded in the C# programming language and integrated with Python using Microsoft Visual Studio (2019 edition). The integration is performed to provide a convenient user interface and to enable the execution of the framework as a standard and standalone software application. Future studies will consider the dynamic scalability of the framework to accommodate different surveillance application areas in overcrowded scenarios. Multiple data sources are integrated to enhance the performance for different scene times, locations, and weather conditions. Furthermore, other object-detection techniques such as You Only Look Once (YOLO) and its variants shall be considered in future studies. These techniques allow the framework to adapt to complex situations in which security surveillance is challenging.

Chinese Expert Consensus on Perioperative Pulmonary Rehabilitation Training for Lung Cancer

Perioperative pulmonary rehabilitation may effectively reduce the incidence of postoperative pulmonary complications and improve the quality of life of lung cancer patients and its clinical application value in lung cancer patients has been widely recognized. However, there is still no international consensus or guideline for pulmonary rehabilitation regimen, lacking standardized criteria when pulmonary rehabilitation applied in perioperative clinical practice for lung cancer. The consensus provides implementation regimen and process of pulmonary rehabilitation, aiming to promote the reasonable and standardized application of perioperative pulmonary rehabilitation training in clinical practice, sequentially enable patients to maximize benefits from the rehabilitation. .

Metaverse and machine readable standards: Basic concepts, key technologies, and application scenarios

&lt;p&gt;Standards are important in facilitating the development of new technologies in the Metaverse scene, and machine readable standards are a new form of standards centered on machine reading, execution, and understanding. Therefore, the study of machine readable standards is of great significance to promote the development of Metaverse technology and disciplines. At present, there is no research on the fusion of machine readable standards and Metaverse home and abroad, and there is no research on the research value, key technologies, difficult challenges and application scenarios of machine readable standards under the perspective of Metaverse. Challenges and potential opportunities for the application of machine readable standards are also discussed. Finally, the application scenarios of machine readable standard in the Metaverse field are proposed, including four scenarios: resource retrieval, knowledge question and answer, personalized knowledge push and virtual digital human.&lt;strong&gt;&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/p&gt;

Expert consensus on clinical application of inhaled nitric oxide therapy (2024 edition)

Inhaled nitric oxide (iNO) is a selective pulmonary vasodilator that has been used in newborns, children, and adults with various cardiopulmonary diseases to reduce pulmonary artery pressure and improve oxygenation. Currently, there are numerous brands of iNO devices on the market with significant differences in performance, as well as variations in connection and setup. Additionally, adverse reactions such as methemoglobinemia may occur during iNO treatment. Therefore, the safety and efficacy of this treatment need to be ensured in clinical practice. To address these concerns and standardize the clinical application of iNO therapy, the Respiratory Care Group of Chinese Thoracic Society and Respiratory Therapist Working Group of Respiratory Career Development Committee, Chinese Association of Chest Physician have organized relevant experts to develop an expert consensus on the clinical application of iNO therapy based on the latest research progress and clinical operational experience. This consensus includes 11 expert consensus recommendations on indications and contraindications of iNO, selection and connection of iNO devices, dose selection and therapeutic effect evaluation of iNO, adverse effects and occupational protection during iNO treatment, transport of patients with iNO, weaning of iNO, cleaning, disinfection and maintenance of iNO devices, and iNO clinical use process and records. The aim is to improve the cognitive and practical ability of clinical practitioners for the standardized application of iNO therapy, so as to ensure the safety and effectiveness of clinical application of iNO therapy.

Expert consensus of regulations for the application of zero suckback technology in oral treatment

Dental turbine is a commonly used instrument for oral clinical treatment. However, there is usually suckback during the using of the traditional dental turbine, which causes the pathogen residue in the pipeline of the dental comprehensive treatment table, leading to cross-infection. Zero suckback technology is a new oral treatment technology to avoid suckback during the usage of dental turbine, which can reduce the possibility of cross infection. However, the applications and methods of zero suckback technique in oral therapy remain to be clarified. This consensus mainly provides guidance for the clinical standard application of zero suckback technology from following aspects: field and definition, indications, applicable population, personnel requirements, operating process and evaluation of therapeutic effect.

Resource overlap and infrequent predation on key pests show vulnerability in cotton biological control services

Promoting arthropod biodiversity to increase ecosystem services through ecological intensification is a challenge for agriculture. And recent evidence suggests that standard pesticide applications not only harm natural enemies but may also fail to deliver long-term pest control solutions. To fuel ecological intensification and build predictive frameworks for pest management incorporating estimates of pest abundance, natural enemy abundance and their associated interactions is essential. Within this framework, there is a need to shift the focus from a single pest and predator to consider the community of predatory arthropods that interact with communities of prey. We took a network-based approach to investigate community interactions of predatory arthropods that feed on key pests and alternative prey in cotton over a three-year period. We merged prey activity, generalist predator communities collected from cotton canopies, and reconstructed trophic interactions with DNA detection frequencies estimated from molecular gut content analysis. Overall, many predator diets overlap, resulting in similar foraging patterns on groups of cotton pests. Moreover, predation on key cotton pests, such as stink bugs and white flies, was low. Therefore, ecological intensification that increases specialized arthropod predators within the community should improve biological control service delivery.

Construction of terminology system in public health and preventive medicine

Public Health and Preventive Medicine, as a first-level discipline within the field of medical sciences, plays a crucial role in standardizing terminology for the purposes of discipline construction, technological advancement, and societal progress. Given the current macro-environment of social development, establishing and perfecting a standardized terminology system for Public Health and Preventive Medicine is not only a necessity for the discipline itself but also a pressing need for the nation and the world. This paper focuses on the development environment and current status of the Public Health and Preventive Medicine discipline system. It explores the current state, challenges, and future prospects of building a terminology system for Public Health and Preventive Medicine from the perspectives of terminology evaluation, standardized application, and discipline construction.

Investigate the efficiency of primary care facilities in emergency situations by application of geographical and demographic standards using GIS.

This study applied geographical standards (coverage distance) and demographic standards to investigate the capabilities of primary healthcare facilities to cover the largest area of the study area and the service area that can be accessed. This study was conducted to find out the sufficient number of primary healthcare (PHC) centers required to provide healthcare services to the entire community. Data was obtained by applying geographic information system (GIS) techniques to analyze primary care facilities using the demographic and geographic standards for primary care facilities. PHC centers cover 79% of the study area according to the geographical standard. The study area needs 41 additional centers to cover the shortfall in service provision per the demographic and geographic standards. A significant deficiency in the number of primary care centers found in the study area compared to the large population at the geographical and demographic standards level.

Notwithstanding the foregoing, the application of general regulatory provisions to official residential public service companies can be verified, since regulations have been incorporated that are not created for this group of entities and that prevent them from developing adequately in the face of competition. to meet its objectives, as indicated in article 32 ibidem, thus preventing the freedom and loss of management of the provision of the service against private companies and blurring the nature of this group of entities. Thus, this research article will address the issue related to the application of standards for public sector entities to domiciliary public companies and their impact on the provision of the service by this group of organizations punctually the obligation to publish in the SECOP

Smartphone Device Monitoring System Using Google Family Link (D’Paragon Housekeeping and Cleaning Service Case Study)

D'Paragon Kost is an exclusive boarding house based in Yogyakarta and has approximately 38 branches. Spread throughout Indonesia and in each branch there are employees who serve as Housekeeping and Cleaning Services. At each Housekeeping and Cleaning Service, facilities are provided in the form of a Smartphone device which is useful for reporting scheduled activities. Using a smartphone that is not intended can cause problems with the smartphone. After the IT team investigated the branch location, there were applications that were outside the company's operational standards. So precautions are taken so that smartphone facilities cannot be used to access applications outside of standard procedures. There are several types of applications that can control smartphone devices. One of these applications is Google Family Link. The aim is to remotely control the Housekeeping and Cleaning Service smartphone and limit the performance of the smartphone itself. As a data collection sample, the author used 5 (five) days of data from 4 (four) Housekeeping and 1 (one) Cleaning Service with different assignment locations and jobs. The data used is daily application usage data in minutes and standard application data from D'Paragon Kost. From the analysis of application usage behavior in each branch, the number of working hours does not affect the lack of access to certain applications. If this behavior is outside the company's Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), it can reduce employee performance. This is shown by the existence of the Cleaning Service branch which has been using the YouTube application for longer than other branches. So monitoring each branch in the use of smartphones with Google Family is very effective in knowing employee behavior at work. The company can also provide recommendations regarding the use and access of smartphones according to their intended use.

Linking resource mobilization approaches and venture performance in highly resource-constrained environments

ABSTRACT Drawing on resource orchestration and social network theories, this study examines the relationships between bricolage, optimization, and new venture performance. We argue that optimization (i.e. standard application of resources acquired from resource markets) increases performance whereas bricolage (i.e. improvisation and unconventional resource applications) causes the opposite effect. We also argue that the effect of these resource mobilization approaches is contingent upon entrepreneurs’ network diversity. Using survey data from agricultural ventures in Nigeria, we found support for our propositions. The findings also show that entrepreneurs’ social capital affects the value of resource orchestration in relationship-based economic systems. We discuss the theoretical and practical implications of these findings.

A Method for Human Systems Integration Requirements within Model Based Systems Engineering

AbstractThe Department of Defense (DoD) employs broad human factors requirements across various applications, resulting in a universal application of the same standards to a multitude of DoD acquisition systems. In unconventional warfare, specifically within missions conducted by US Special Operations Command (USSOCOM), operators face intensified workloads and domain‐specific challenges that current human factors considerations do not adequately address. The objective of this paper aims to introduce a novel framework, the Relational and Technological Capstone (RTC), designed to expand existing Human Systems Integration (HSI) requirements. The objective is to enhance the consideration of human factors in USSOCOM missions by addressing the unique challenges posed by intensified workloads and domain‐specific ontologies. The RTC employs a methodology‐driven approach utilizing both architectural and parametric diagrams. It integrates with Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) to improve the design of human‐system interactions, incorporating a Special Operations Task List and Performance Shaping Factors (PSFs) into aggregated parametrics. The results of this paper demonstrate the efficacy of RTC within MBSE, showcasing its value through improved design processes and as a foundation for new programs. The containment tree format aids in developing USSOCOM MBSE and opens possibilities for automation tools. Continual use of RTC contributes to the maturity of MBSE models and diagrams, fostering the evolution of a federation‐of‐models and Program of Record standards. This not only benefits subsequent SOCOM programs and projects but also facilitates cross‐cooperation with other nations in optimizing special operation acquisitions. The ultimate goal is to center the RTC around the operator, ensuring compatibility and optimization across cooperative nations' special operation acquisitions.

Interpretation of Chinese Expert Consensus on the Diagnosis and Management Strategy of Patients with Statin Intolerance: A guiding file for helping to lipid management for Chinese population.

It is well-known that elevated low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C) is a causal risk factor for atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease (ASCVD), statins are cornerstone drugs for the cause-based treatment of ASCVD, which has created a new era for ASCVD therapy. However, statin intolerance is not clinically uncommon, which there are several issues with confusion and misunderstandings. Hence, a file named Chinese Expert Consensus on the Diagnosis and Management Strategy of Patients With Statin Intolerance, like a navigator, has recently been published written by a team of experts from the Cardiovascular Metabolic Medicine Professional Committee, Expert Committee of the National Center for Cardiovascular Diseases aiming to enhance the standardized clinical application of statins and improve the prevention and clinical outcome. In this article, author briefly summarized the key points of above consensus in order to helping to comprehending the content of the consensus suggestions.

Compressive Strengths of Cube vs. Cored Specimens of Cement Stabilized Rammed Earth Compared with ANOVA

Cement-stabilized rammed earth (CSRE) is a variation of the traditional rammed earth building material, which has been used since ancient times, strengthened by the addition of a stabilizer in the form of Portland cement. This article compares the compressive strength of CSRE determined from specimens cored from structural walls and those molded in the laboratory. Both types of specimens underwent a 120-day curing period. The tests were conducted on specimens with various grain sizes and cement content. An analysis of variance (ANOVA) was performed on the obtained results to determine whether it is possible to establish a conversion factor between the compressive strength values obtained from laboratory-molded cubic samples and those from cored samples extracted from the CSRE structure. The study revealed that the compressive strength of CSRE increases significantly over the curing period, with substantial strength gains observed up to 120 days. The results indicated no statistically significant difference in the mean unconfined compressive strength (UCS) between cubic and cored specimens for certain mixtures, suggesting that a shape coefficient factor may not be necessary for calculating CSRE compressive strength in laboratory settings. However, for other mixtures, normal distribution was not confirmed. These findings have implications for the standardization and practical application of CSRE in construction, highlighting the need for longer curing periods to achieve optimal strength and the potential to simplify testing protocols.

Modernizations of graphene nanocomposites using synthesis strategies—State-of-the-art

Graphene has been ranked among one of the most remarkable nanostructures in the carbon world. Graphene modification and nanocomposite formation have been used to expand the practical potential of graphene nanostructure. The overview is an effort to highlight the indispensable synthesis strategies towards the formation of graphene nanocomposites. Consequently, graphene has been combined with useful matrices (thermoplastic, conducting, or others) to attain the desired end material. Common fabrication approaches like the in-situ method, solution processing, and melt extrusion have been widely involved to form the graphene nanocomposites. Moreover, advanced, sophisticated methods such as three- or four-dimensional printing, electrospinning, and others have been used to synthesize the graphene nanocomposites. The focus of all synthesis strategies has remained on the standardized graphene dispersion, physical properties, and applications. However, continuous future efforts are required to resolve the challenges in synthesis strategies and optimization of the parameters behind each technique. As the graphene nanocomposite design and properties directly depend upon the fabrication techniques used, there is an obvious need for the development of advanced methods having better control over process parameters. Here, the main challenging factors may involve the precise parameter control of the advanced techniques used for graphene nanocomposite manufacturing. Hence, there is not only a need for current and future research to resolve the field challenges related to material fabrication, but also reporting compiled review articles can be useful for interested field researchers towards challenge solving and future developments in graphene manufacturing.

Heterogeneous pseudobulk simulation enables realistic benchmarking of cell-type deconvolution methods

BackgroundComputational cell type deconvolution enables the estimation of cell type abundance from bulk tissues and is important for understanding tissue microenviroment, especially in tumor tissues. With rapid development of deconvolution methods, many benchmarking studies have been published aiming for a comprehensive evaluation for these methods. Benchmarking studies rely on cell-type resolved single-cell RNA-seq data to create simulated pseudobulk datasets by adding individual cells-types in controlled proportions.ResultsIn our work, we show that the standard application of this approach, which uses randomly selected single cells, regardless of the intrinsic difference between them, generates synthetic bulk expression values that lack appropriate biological variance. We demonstrate why and how the current bulk simulation pipeline with random cells is unrealistic and propose a heterogeneous simulation strategy as a solution. The heterogeneously simulated bulk samples match up with the variance observed in real bulk datasets and therefore provide concrete benefits for benchmarking in several ways. We demonstrate that conceptual classes of deconvolution methods differ dramatically in their robustness to heterogeneity with reference-free methods performing particularly poorly. For regression-based methods, the heterogeneous simulation provides an explicit framework to disentangle the contributions of reference construction and regression methods to performance. Finally, we perform an extensive benchmark of diverse methods across eight different datasets and find BayesPrism and a hybrid MuSiC/CIBERSORTx approach to be the top performers.ConclusionsOur heterogeneous bulk simulation method and the entire benchmarking framework is implemented in a user friendly package https://github.com/humengying0907/deconvBenchmarking and https://doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.8206516, enabling further developments in deconvolution methods.
