Accountability of Service Promotion for Civil Servants (Case Study of Application of SAPK BKN in BKD of South Sumatra Province) has basically been going well, but because there were some disturbances related to network problems and application system problems, so there were some things that were delayed in the management process. . It has not been added to the terms and files that are not appropriate so that many promotion files have not been approved and must be repaired. The supporting factor is the existence of technological advances that become service innovations, in the form of online applications, namely online SAPK in the management of promotions, it will provide convenience in the management of promotions. The inhibiting factor is that the existence of signal interference in several districts is a weak side of the online system that must be improved, as well as the requirements for completeness of files that have not been met by employees hampering the approval process for promotions.

Review of Risk Assessment Methods for Cybersecurity Attacks on Road Network and Intelligent Transportation System Applications

One of the most discussed infrastructure issues of our time is cybersecurity. A transportation system that connects not only people but also logistics to make the community around the world closer is one of the critical infrastructures requiring cybersecurity to perform its functions. Transportation systems include aviation, maritime, pipeline, railroad, and road networks. This study focuses only on the roadway network system. Cutting-edge technologies related to highway networks, such as variable message signs, vehicular ad hoc networks, and in-vehicle networks, have been developed to improve safety and efficiency. Those technologies make transportation systems more complex and integrated, bringing many potential vulnerabilities and cyber risks. This can attract an adversary to attack and exploit the system. The number of cybersecurity attacks on transportation systems has been growing for many years. However, it is not feasible to protect against all cybersecurity attacks in the system. The risk assessment concept is proposed to prioritize risk resulting from attacks to support decision-makers in formulating appropriate policies or countermeasures. This study reviews risk assessment methods for cybersecurity attacks on road networks and intelligent transportation system applications. Three potential risk assessment methods are examined for road network systems: the National Institute of Standards and Technology Special Publication 800-30, Attack Potential and Damage Potential, and the fuzzy analytic hierarchy process.

Combined Shark-Fin Rooftop Antenna for LTE, WLAN and BeiDou Applications

This paper presents rooftop automobile antennas designed for Long-Term Evolution (LTE), Wireless Local Area Network (WLAN) and navigation system applications. The proposed antennas are housed within a shark-fin structure on the car’s roof, and comprise a main antenna and a diversity antenna. The main antenna and diversity antenna combine for spatial diversity, receiving and processing the same signal to optimize signal quality. To accommodate the limited space within the shark-fin housing, various miniaturization and multiband techniques are utilized. The hexagonal substrate is more closely fitted to the shape of the shark fin, thus making full use of the space of the shark-fin shell. The main antenna and the diversity antenna are perpendicular to each other, which saves the space of the overall antenna and improves the utilization rate of the overall antenna space. The proposed main antenna, compactly sized at 50 mm × 20 mm × 1.59 mm, maintains a VSWR value below 2 across the frequency range of 1.19–2.8 GHz, enabling support for LTE bands 1, 2, 3, 4, 7, 11, 15, 16, 34, 39, 40, and 41, as well as WLAN 2400 bands. The diversity antenna maintains a VSWR value below 2 across the frequency range of 1.5–2.6 GHz, which can cover BeiDou B1-1, LTE 1, 2, 3, 4, 7, 11, 15, 16, 34, 39, and 40, and WLAN 2400 bands. The main antenna and the diversity antenna both demonstrate favorable radiation patterns on the azimuth plane. Simulation and measurement results exhibit a high level of agreement.

Kalman Filter of Switching System Under Hybrid Cyber Attack

Potential malicious attacks have been a significant security concern for network system applications. However, there are few studies on filtering for hybrid network attacks in switching systems. This paper considers a Kalman filtering problem for the switched systems that suffer from deception attacks and denial-of-service attacks. A new network transmission model for switching systems is established. Then, based on the minimum mean square error criterion, a Kalman filter with low conservatism is designed for the discrete-time switched system. The newly switched Kalman gain matrix is deduced including the random variation of the switching signal after being attacked by the network. Finally, the effectiveness of the proposed filter is verified by the numerical simulation. <italic xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">Note to Practitioners</i> —A switching system is considered to be a typical hybrid system. As it often works in a network environment, the switching signal is vulnerable to the network and thus to various cyber-attacks (e.g. spoofing attacks and denial-of-service attacks). Few studies have been conducted on the impact of switching signals in network transmission. To address this problem, this paper proposes a Kalman filter design method with low conservativeness, which describes network attacks and data loss by building a Kalman filter model associated with the switching signal in terms of satisfying Bernoulli random variables. For practitioners, the ability to recover data to a certain extent when the data transmission is affected by different network attacks will save a lot of costs and is important for improving the stability and performance of switching systems. Our future work will aim to improve the performance of different filtering algorithms under different cyber-attacks.

Towards rapid modeling and prototyping of indoor and outdoor monitoring applications

Nowadays, the capability to remotely monitor indoor and outdoor environments would allow to reduce energy consumption and improve the overall management and users’ experience of network application systems. The most known solutions adopting remote control are related to domotics (e.g., smart homes and industry 4.0 applications). An important stimulus for the development of such smart approaches is the growth of the Internet of Things (IoT) technologies and the increasing investment in the development of green houses, buildings, and, in general, heterogeneous environments. While the benefits for the humans and the environment are evident, a pervasive adoption and distribution of remote monitoring solutions are hindered by the following issue: modeling, designing, prototyping, and further developing the remote applications and underlying architecture require a certain amount of time. Moreover, such systems must be often customized on the basis of the need of the specific domain and involved entities. For such reasons, in this paper, we provide the experience made in addressing some relevant indoor and outdoor case studies through IoT-targeted tools, technologies and protocols, highlighting the advantages and disadvantages of the considered solutions as well as insights that can be useful for future practitioners.

Improving Generalizability of Graph Anomaly Detection Models via Data Augmentation

Graph anomaly detection (GAD) has wide applications in real-world networked systems. In many scenarios, people need to identify anomalies on new (sub)graphs, but they may lack labels to train an effective detection model. Since recent semi-supervised GAD methods, which can leverage the available labels as prior knowledge, have achieved superior performance than unsupervised methods, one natural idea is to directly adopt a trained semi-supervised GAD model to the new (sub)graphs for testing. However, we find that existing semi-supervised GAD methods suffer from poor generalization issues, i.e., well-trained models could not perform well on an unseen area (i.e., not accessible in training) of the graph. Motivated by this, we formally define the problem of generalized graph anomaly detection that aims to effectively identify anomalies on both the training-domain graph(s) and the unseen test graph(s). Nevertheless, it is a challenging task since only limited labels are available, and the normal data distribution may differ between training and testing data. Accordingly, we propose a data augmentation method named <italic xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">AugAN</i> ( <underline xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">Aug</u> mentation for <underline xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">A</u> nomaly and <underline xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">N</u> ormal distributions) to enrich training data and adopt a customized episodic training strategy for learning with the augmented data. Extensive experiments verify the effectiveness of <italic xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">AugAN</i> in improving model generalizability.

The new INFN-CHNet neutron imaging facility

In this paper, NICHE (Neutron Imaging for Cultural HEritage), the new neutron imaging facility of the Italian National Institute of Nuclear Physics (INFN) is shortly presented. We report on the main features of the beamline, the specifications of the detection set-up, and the performances of the imaging system. NICHE is installed at the TRIGA reactor of LENA (Laboratorio Energia Nucleare Applicata) Pavia University laboratory (Italy). The imaging facility was designed during 2020, installed in the spring 2021, and has been in operation since May 2021. NICHE is the first Italian neutron imaging station open to national external users through the INFN-CHNet network application system. NICHE allows users to obtain neutron radiographies and tomographies, thus allowing for morphological characterisation of samples. First results to highlight the potential of the facility are reported. In particular, we show the first results about spatial resolution measurement and 3D reconstruction to provide morphological analysis capabilities.

AP Association Algorithm Based on VR User Behavior Awareness

With the rapid development of virtual reality (VR) technology, this paper proposes an access point (AP) correlation method based on VR user behavior awareness to address the problem of how current AP correlation methods only focus on the performance improvements of ordinary users and ignore the impact of VR user behavior on service quality. This paper analyzes the AP association method under the coverage scenario of a multi-access point (multi-AP) scenario environment and controls the performance improvement of VR user APs or APs under the access controller (AC) by association. Firstly, the VR network application scenario and system model were constructed, and secondly, the user behavior was sensed by analyzing the viewing habits of users. Then, the VR user association problem based on VR user behavior perception was transformed into a “many-to-many” matching problem between VR user devices and APs, and the generalized multidimensional multiple choice knapsack (GMMKP) model was established to solve the problem using the backpack problem theory; the suboptimal solution algorithm was selected to obtain the best VR user AP association strategy. The experimental results show by simulation that the proposed algorithm in this paper performed better in terms of the AP load balancing and average network download latency compared to the comparison algorithms.

Calculation of utility of network services based on state manifolds

Network service, as a behavioral process oriented toward network operation, plays a vital role in the function of network application system. State-of-the-art researches are prone to ignore the intrinsic behavioral characteristics of network services, and yield subjective and biased analysis results on service selection, coordination, composition, and management. To fill in this gap, an approach of calculating the network service behavioral utility is presented in this paper. We first propose a method of extracting the behavioral attributes and constructing the state space model of network service with machine learning and differential geometry techniques. Moreover, based on the state space model, which is described as Riemannian manifold, we propose a method of calculating the utility of network services and applications, which serves as a measure of impact of the particular network behavior. The proposed method is examined in different application scenarios under the service mesh architecture, and experimental results show that the method can effectively reflect the intrinsic behavioral characteristic of network service.

The opening of several accesses from the public network (internet) to the local area network (LAN) The security of a LAN network that is accessed from a public network is usually an administrator's problem. Often, the security problems of both the network and the entire application system, as well as the web server, are neglected just to ensure that operational activities run smoothly, and security is only realised after a disaster occurs. Without a good network security and application system, the application of any sophisticated technology will be very dangerous for the company, institution, or organisation itself. So, it takes a security analysis of all activities on the LAN, servers, and other devices to prevent mitigation and to be more aware of server security vulnerabilities. Based on the context of the existing issues, a penetration testing analysis is required. As supporting material, this research also uses guidelines from the CEH (Certified Ethical Hacker) module and the official Acunetix website. The test of this research is aimed at finding the weaknesses of the existing company/institution servers. Among others, quite a lot of weaknesses were found, where each of these weaknesses has a different handling, ports that should be blocked but are opened freely, and access to public IPs that are less important should be closed. The solutions proposed to overcome these problems include: the use of this Acunetix standard can be maintained and continued; testing is much better if carried out more than two times; periodically upgrading SNMP (Simple Network Management Protocol) vulnerable; increasing the level of server security; migration of quality antivirus; and upgrade of expired operating systems.

Design of English Teaching Corpus Resource-Sharing System Based on XML Technology

It is well known that vocabulary is the cornerstone of language learning. Therefore, vocabulary teaching is very important in English language teaching. However, time-consuming and inefficient vocabulary education has always been a long-standing issue. Teachers utilize traditional teaching methods, which are monotonous, so students lose interest and desire in studying, resulting in a drop in academic performance and even resistance to English courses, creating a vicious circle. Therefore, improving the efficiency of vocabulary teaching has become a hot topic in the field of English education today. Corpus technology has begun to infiltrate the realm of English education as the times and technology have progressed. Because of its vast capacity and real corpus, the corpus is gradually being used in English classes. Therefore, this research will explore the application of corpus-based XML technology data-driven teaching in junior high school English vocabulary teaching. Data-driven vocabulary teaching based on corpus resources has been shown to considerably improve students’ vocabulary learning effects, but its promotion requires the assistance of education departments as well as the development of instructors’ professional theoretical understanding. In order to solve the problem of data processing and data sharing of heterogeneous data in the process of digital campus construction, this study aims at the campus network application system, using data exchange technology and XML’s good extensibility, self-description, separation of form and content, etc. It realizes data sharing and sharing in heterogeneous databases.

Power Optimal Control Method of Network Big Data for Mechanical Vibration Wireless Sensor

With the gradual deepening of research on wireless sensor networks at home and abroad in recent years, some wireless sensor network application systems have emerged in the fields of academic research and engineering applications. Especially in the industrial field, wireless sensor network, as a new information perception technology, has attracted more and more attention due to its advantages of self-organization, flexible deployment, strong scalability, and on-chip processing capabilities. The purpose of this paper is to study the power optimization control method of wireless sensor of mechanical vibration by network big data. In view of the current problem of power control of mechanical vibration wireless sensor network nodes, first, under the premise of ensuring the accuracy of data collection, the key factors affecting the power control of mechanical vibration wireless sensor network nodes are analyzed, the wireless sensor power control model is designed, and the network big data is proposed. Impact on the power of wireless sensors; finally, based on the above research, the fuzzy power control algorithm and its simulation are specifically studied. First, a point-to-point transmission power control system model is designed, and the fuzzy logic controller module is designed in detail, including fuzzy Part of the membership function design, fuzzy rule determination and the use of defuzzification methods. Then use simulation tools to build a point-to-point simulation model and a simulated network simulation model. Finally, these two models are used to compare the performance of fuzzy power control algorithm and fixed power method. The experimental results show that the network survival time using fuzzy power control algorithm is twice that of the fixed power method. The fuzzy power control algorithm has great advantages in both effective communication distance and network survival time.

A less conservative approach to handle time‐varying parameters in discrete‐time linear parameter‐varying systems with applications in networked control systems

SummaryThis article proposes a new strategy to deal with linear parameter‐varying discrete‐time systems, whose time‐varying parameters can be written as solutions (such as exponential, trigonometric, or periodic function) of a linear difference equation (DE). The novelty is to explicitly exploit the precise knowledge of the function describing the time‐varying parameter by incorporating the associated DE in the conditions, providing less conservative results when compared with conventional approaches based on bounded or arbitrary rates of variation. The advantage of the method comes from the fact that, differently from the available methods, the pointwise stability for the whole domain of the time‐varying parameters is not a necessary condition to obtain feasible solutions. The applicability and benefits of the proposed technique are investigated in terms of numerical examples concerning robust stability analysis, filtering, and state‐feedback control. As a final contribution, the problem of time‐varying sampling periods in the context of networked control systems is investigated using the proposed strategy. A numerical example based on a practical application is presented to illustrate the superiority of the approach when compared to methods from the literature based on matrix exponential computation.

Empirical Evaluation of High-speed Cost-effective Ro-FSO System by Incorporating OCDMA-PDM Scheme under the Presence of Fog

Abstract Radio over free space optics (Ro-FSO) innovation saddles the vast limit of optical fiber and the portability from local to remote systems. To enhance the capacity of Ro-FSO systems without compromising the bandwidth, this work incorporates use of hybrid polarization division multiplexing (PDM) with optical code division multiplexing (OCDMA) schemes. Due to low deployment time and support cost, the vast majority of the current optical network application systems adopts free space optics (FSO) as the elective answer for suitably supplanting fiber optical cable. This study has incorporated PDM and OCDMA schemes to design a 50 Gbps Ro-FSO link. Ten channels, each with 5 Gbps of data, are transported via FSO link of 3500 m. In addition, the proposed PDM-OCDMA-Ro-FSO link is evaluated under various atmospheric commotions.

A New Adaptive Controller in Wireless Networked Control Systems: Developing a Robust and Effective Controller for Energy Efficiency

A major concern in practical applications of wireless networked control systems (WNCSs) is the energy expenditure of wireless devices. There must be a tradeoff between the control performance requirement for fast updates and the battery lifetime of wireless sensors. This article presents a new adaptive controller for energy efficiency in industrial WNCSs. Reducing the frequency of wireless transmission allows for a reduction in the power expenditure of wireless devices in a WNCS.

Development of Network Protocol Resolver Based on Wireshark

Nowadays, the parsing of network protocol is widely used, we require a good and extensible protocol analysis tool. Wireshark is highly regarded by more and more people for its good system architecture and open source. This paper introduces the composition and function of Wireshark and studies the design and development method of protocol analysis parsers in Wireshark. It provides reference for the analysis and verification of network protocol and content detection of packets. In the meanwhile, it lays a foundation for the future design and development of more complex network application system.

DEFAD: ensemble classifier for DDOS enabled flood attack defense in distributed network environment

Technological advancements in the information systems and networks are the outcome of potential developments resulting in the networking and communications. The role of Critical Infrastructure is playing a vital role in imparting the condition of effective information systems management. However, with some of the negative developments like DDoS attacks that impact the operations of network application systems, there are adverse set of issues encountered. With the rising number of DDoS attacks phenomenon, researchers have focused on developing contemporary solutions that can support in thwarting such attacks. From the review of such models in the literature review, it is imperative that two distinct dimensions like the detection and mitigation accuracy levels has scope for improvement and profoundly majority of such models were tested on the static datasets which are not pragmatic. Considering such equations, the model proposed in this manuscript focused on a contemporary range of solution that can be high on accuracy rate and also is tested over the dynamic dataset to understand the efficacy of the system. Using the ensemble classifiers comprising drift detection features, at service request stream level, the proposed solution if implemented can lead to better levels of detection. Experimental study of the model carried out using the service request stream that is synthesized is tested based on statistical metrics like accuracy, prediction value and true negative rates. Significance of the model is imperative in terms of results generated and its comparative analysis to the other bench-mark models in the segment.

Wireless Sensor Network over High Altitude Platform

One of Machine Type Communication (MTC) applications is Wireless Sensor Network (WSN). WSN is an intelligent network application system to collect, integrate, and transmit data autonomously. Sensor nodes in WSN, communicate over short distance via a wireless medium and collaborate to accomplish a common task, such as enviroment monitoring, military surveillance and industrial process control. The constraining aspect of WSN usage is the limited power of each sensor node, so energy efficiency becomes an important issue in WSN. Routing is a function in WSN, which consumes a substantial amount of energy. One of the routing protocols that can increase the energy efficiency of WSN is Low Energy Adaptive Clustering Hierarchy (LEACH). In this paper, High Altitude Platform (HAP) is used to replace Base Station (BS) as sink node in WSN. HAP is designed at altitudes of 17, 20 and 22 km. Then WSN over HAP using the LEACH routing protocol evaluated its performance. Performance indicators that we evaluated are engergy consumption, number of dead nodes and total average packets which is sent to HAP. From a series of simulations conducted, the results obtained that the higher the laying of HAP, then the coverage area will be greater. So that the energy consumption will be smaller, the number of dead node less and the avarage of total packet delivered to the HAP will be greater.

Low Complexity Parity Check Code for Futuristic Wireless Networks Applications

The Internet of Things refers to the aptitude of remotely connecting and monitoring anything, anytime, and anywhere via futuristic wireless networks. Due to the unreliable wireless links, broadcast nature of wireless transmissions, interference and noisy transmission channels, frequent topology changes, and the various quality of wireless channel, there are challenges in providing high data rate service, high throughput, high packet delivery ratio, low end-to-end delay, and reliable services. In wireless network and real time application systems, low complexity and shorter codeword length in channel coding scheme are preferred. Consequently, in order to address these challenges, we propose a novel error detection and correction codes called the low-complexity parity-check (LCPC) codes with short codeword lengths for futuristic wireless networks applications. The proposed codes have less complexity and lower memory requirement in comparison to turbo and low-density parity-check (LDPC) codes. Simulation results demonstrated that the proposed LCPC codes outperform the Hamming and Reed–Solomon codes, in addition to the renowned LDPC codes. It offers up to 3-dB coding gain.
