BLOCKCHAIN BASED TRANSACTIONS BETWEEN INDIAN AIR FORCE AND ITS AEROSPACE DEFENCE COMPANY

The use of Blockchain technology in various fields like cryptocurrencies, supply chain, healthcare, finance, etc has found widespread acceptance in general and has proven to be pioneering when implemented in the Supply Chain industry. Various use cases where blockchain has brought various stakeholders in a large supply chain on a common platform and has ensured transparency and established a trustless environment among them have been studied and implemented by multiple organizations. This is facilitated by having a shared distributed, immutable ledger which facilitates the process of recording transactions and tracking the assets as they move in a business network. In this project, we propose the application of Blockchain technology on the transactions between the Indian Air Force (IAF) and Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL). Various aircraft components move from IAF to HAL for repair and maintenance purposes and change hands as they move along the various departments involved in servicing and repairing those components. The proposed architecture of Blockchain based transactions between IAF and HAL would bring transparency, and better security and establish a trustless environment among all the stakeholders involved, and would also empower the stakeholders to optimize their working capabilities thereby saving the time for which an aircraft is on the ground owing to want of an unserviceable component.

Blockchain Traceability Process for Hairy Crab Based on Cuckoo Filter

With the rapid development of global information technology, smart agriculture has gradually become an important force to promote agricultural modernisation. Taking Yangcheng Lake hairy crabs as the research object, this paper constructs a full-chain traceability process for hairy crabs integrating blockchain and Internet of Things technology in response to the demand for the enhancement of its brand value and market competitiveness. The model covers all aspects of breeding, processing, and transport to sales; realises end-to-end transparent regulation; effectively guarantees the authenticity and non-tamperability of information; and enhances consumers’ trust in the brand. At the technical level, this paper designs the ECMI (Enhanced Cuckoo Merkle Index) model, optimises the data storage and retrieval mechanism, and experimentally verifies the advantages of cuckoo filters over traditional Bloom filters in reducing false positives and improving query efficiency. This paper not only provides an efficient and safe traceability solution for the hairy crab industry in Yangcheng Lake but also provides technical support and practical cases for the further application of blockchain technology in smart agriculture, which is of great value for the realisation of the national rural revitalisation strategy.

From tradition to technological advancement: embracing blockchain technology in family businesses

PurposeDespite the rapid advancement of blockchain technology across various sectors, scholarly research on its application within family businesses remains significantly underdeveloped. This study aims to address this gap by examining the application of blockchain technology within family businesses to identify key application domains, benefits and implementation challenges.Design/methodology/approachThe study employs a conceptual approach, drawing on existing literature on family businesses and blockchain technology. This review aimed to identify the unique characteristics of family businesses, their challenges and the distinctive features of blockchain technology that can potentially be mapped to each other. Based on the literature review, we develop a conceptual framework exploring blockchain technology applications in family businesses. Real-world case studies of family businesses that have implemented blockchain technology were identified to provide practical insights and implementation challenges.FindingsBlockchain technology possesses transformative potential for family businesses across several critical domains. It includes enhancing trust and transparency in operations, improving governance and decision-making and facilitating succession planning and intergenerational wealth management. Case study evidence illustrates the tangible benefits of blockchain, including enhanced supply chain transparency, optimized business processes, increased customer trust and resultant business sustainability. Blockchain technology implementation challenges include data privacy concerns, integration with legacy systems, regulatory uncertainty and change management issues.Research limitations/implicationsThis study is limited by its reliance on existing literature and case studies. It may not capture the full spectrum of challenges and opportunities associated with blockchain applications in family businesses. Future research should focus on longitudinal and empirical research to provide a deeper understanding of the impact of blockchain technology application in family businesses.Originality/valueThis study contributes to the literature by exploring the intersection of family businesses and blockchain technology, an area that has received limited academic attention. It identifies potential application domains of blockchain technology in family businesses and develops a conceptual framework based on existing literature. Through case studies, the research provides practical insights and valuable lessons for family businesses considering blockchain implementation. It also addresses key considerations and challenges, providing a clear roadmap for blockchain technology integration in family businesses. The study lays the groundwork for further research and exploration in blockchain technology and family businesses.

Blockchains in health information systems: A literature review on use cases and status of implementation of blockchains for electronic health records

BACKGROUND: The careful management of health data is crucial due to its immense value and high sensitivity. Blockchain technologies can manage data in a trustworthy way. OBJECTIVE: The central aim is to identify the current state of blockchain technologies applied to Electronic Health Records (EHR) to identify common structures and functionalities. This common ground could be the starting point for defining clear global standards. METHODS: A systematic literature review is used. RESULTS: The benefits of enhancing the digitalization and cross-institutional accessibility of health data are undoubted. Four main application areas of blockchain for the EHR can be identified: storing, sharing, audit logging, and managing the identity of data accessors. Since on-chain transactions are slow and inefficient, most research promotes a hybrid approach for handling transactions as a combination of off-chain and on-chain approaches. CONCLUSIONS: Several approaches, frameworks, and models exist for applying blockchain technologies in the context of EHR. The research revealed that a) only a few concepts are already implemented, b) the existing system implementations are based on different backgrounds and technology stacks, and c) a lack of comprehensive and global standards and norms. All these factors are barriers to a broader usage of blockchain-based EHRs.

This paper delves into the current status of blockchain technology applications in this field, covering key aspects such as trade settlement and clearing, securities issuance and trading, identity verification, and compliance management. Through detailed case studies, it powerfully demonstrates its significant reduction in settlement cycles and intermediate links, thereby improving trade efficiency; its substantial reduction in operational costs and additional expenditures due to human errors, thereby lowering costs; and its effective resistance to cyber-attacks through data encryption and tamper-proof characteristics, thereby enhancing security. At the same time, it explores the positive role of blockchain technology in improving market trust by offering transparent transaction records and reducing information asymmetry. The paper further analyzes the challenges faced by blockchain technology in the global securities trading market, including issues with technology maturity such as performance scaling and interoperability, regulatory and compliance issues such as incomplete legal frameworks and policy uncertainties, industry acceptance issues such as conservative attitudes from traditional institutions and insufficient technology popularization education, and security risks such as emerging vulnerabilities and private key management risks. On this basis, it provides a forward-looking outlook on the potential and development trends of blockchain technology in the global securities trading market in the future, including integration trends with other emerging technologies, its role in promoting cross-border transactions and financial market integration, the possibility of innovative financial products and services, and the resulting changes in market patterns. In summary, this paper provides a comprehensive and systematic study of the current status, advantages, challenges, and future development of blockchain technology in the global securities trading market, offering valuable references and insights for further development in this field.

Our findings reveal that blockchain adoption is associated with significant reductions in transaction costs, improvements in supply chain efficiency, and increases in farmer income. The study addresses endogeneity concerns through instrumental variable estimation and conducts extensive robustness checks to validate the results. Our analysis provides empirical evidence for the transformative potential of blockchain technology in addressing key challenges in agricultural supply chains, including information asymmetries and inefficiencies. The Blockchain Effect on Courier Supply Chains Digitalization and Its Contribution to Industry 4.0 within the Circular Economy

The goal of this research is to investigate blockchain technology’s influence on digitizing courier supply chains and advancing Industry 4.0, which leads the digitization revolution by integrating blockchain to digitize processes that would serve the circular economy. It evaluates how blockchain enhances transparency, traceability, and digital processes in logistics, promoting sustainability through waste reduction and improved reuse. The study aims to identify the benefits and challenges of blockchain integration, develop a conceptual framework, and provide actionable insights to improve supply chain management, operational efficiency, and sustainability. This research uses a qualitative research method including a literature review as well as interviews for case studies to explore both the benefits and challenges when applying blockchain technology in courier organizations in Industry 4.0 within the circular economy. The results show that blockchain technology can enhance the security, traceability, and efficiency of courier supply chains, reduce theft, error risk, and fraud, as well as facilitate specific process automation via smart contracts. Blockchain technology can support the digital transformation of logistics organizations and enhance circular economy networks in Industry 4.0 by enabling automation, transparency, traceability, and maintaining responsibility for the environment. This research is an exploration of the effect of blockchain technology on the courier supply chain in the logistics firms in Industry 4.0 within the circular economy and the development of a conceptual framework for usage. In addition, it capitalizes on both coordination and collaboration among players through decentralization to obtain maximum fruitful benefits.

Integrating Blockchain Technology in Business Models for Sustainable Innovation

This research paper investigates the role of blockchain technology in sustainable business model innovation by proposing a comprehensive framework. The study addresses the following research questions: How can blockchain technology enhance business model components? What are the specific innovations enabled by blockchain technology? To answer these questions, a hybrid approach was employed. Initially, a thorough review of existing literature identified key components of business model innovation. Subsequently, a survey was conducted among technology experts to evaluate the applications of blockchain technology in these components. The analysis revealed five categories of innovation: macro-activities of the value network, micro-activities within the organization, governance, financial aspects, as well as sustainable innovation. Next, a novel conceptual model was developed to assess the impact of digital technologies on business model performance, and then it was evaluated using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM). Key findings indicate that blockchain technology significantly enhances data transparency, security, and efficiency capabilities, leading to improved innovation and increased sales volume. Practical implications include recommendations for organizations to prioritize investments in platform technologies, insight analysis, and sensor-based data collection to achieve sustainable business model innovation. The study underscores the importance of a holistic approach to integrating blockchain technology across all business model components to maximize its potential.

Blockchain, as an innovative decentralised data recording technology, provides a high level of security, transparency and immutability, which renders it particularly valuable for the financial sector. The study highlighted how blockchain can improve international transfer processes, increase the transparency of financial transactions and simplify the management of smart contracts, and noted existing challenges such as scalability and legal issues. The role of blockchain technologies in sustainable finance, especially in the field of green investments, was highlighted as an important aspect of the study. The introduction of blockchain in areas such as green project financing and social initiative management can help increase investor confidence and improve investment performance. Financial technology is also central in shaping new approaches to finance and investment, facilitating access to capital through crowdfunding and person-to-person (P2P) lending platforms. The introduction of environmental and social practices in financial institutions of the Kyrgyz Republic demonstrates the growing attention to corporate responsibility and sustainable development, despite the initial stage of their implementation. This study explores the application of blockchain technology across various environmental domains, such as air quality, climate change impacts, and resource management. The research utilised a dual approach, combining a bibliometric analysis with VOSviewer and a topic analysis using BERT models to assess the discourse within both the scientific literature extracted from Scopus and practical blockchain projects obtained from GitHub. The findings reveal that food security, energy, and sustainable agriculture are predominant topics in academic discussions, with a noticeable increase in focus from 2017 onwards. Practical projects are focused on transparent tracking and decentralised management. The overlap between academic and practical spheres is evident in the shared focus on energy and environmental management, demonstrating blockchain’s growing role in addressing global environmental challenges. This study underscores the importance of integrating theoretical research with practical implementations to harness blockchain’s full potential in promoting sustainable environmental practices.

In this Research, researchers proposed a new framework model for applying blockchain technology, aiming to solve multiple challenges in international fair trade. Through a detailed analysis of the existing trade imbalance and market access restrictions, the paper expounds how blockchain technology can improve the transparency and fairness of trade through its core functions.Globalization and technological progress have promoted the rapid development of international trade, but also brought many challenges. The fair-trade movement tried to provide more fair-trading conditions for small-scale producers in developing countries, but the market acceptance was not high, and consumers' cognition was limited. The purpose of this study is to explore how blockchain technology can promote fair trade practices, especially through real-time monitoring and verification of the fairness of trade activities, and how to deal with uncertainties and data changes in fair trade. The design and implementation of IFTBOM model is expected to significantly improve the global fair-trade environment, especially for small-scale producers in developing countries, and help significantly improve their economic and social conditions. By implementing these policies and practices, we can expect to achieve a fairer and more transparent trade environment in the global context.

Assess the Impact of Blockchain Application in Electronic Commerce on Customer’s Shopping Experience

Technology is increasingly disruptive, and economic transformation according to technology development is inevitable. Especially the field of E-commerce is constantly catching up with that development. We can easily see the development and importance of e-commerce in Vietnam and worldwide after the Covid-19 pandemic. Therefore, to attract and get customers online, businesses need to come up with solutions to increase the customer experience when shopping for their products. And the solution to this problem is the application of blockchain technology (blockchain) to e-commerce. Customer experience when shopping on e-commerce platforms with blockchain application is influenced by factors such as perceived risk, security, transparency, information synchronization, cost savings. To carry out this research, the research team conducted a survey and analysis based on 402 most suitable survey questionnaires, then conducted an assessment of factors affecting the shopping experience of customers when applying blockchain to e-commerce using Smart PLS 4.0 software and SPSS software. The survey was conducted with customers who have experience buying on e-commerce. The results of this research paper are a premise for many other future studies related to blockchain technology and draw out the governance implications for Vietnamese businesses in improving the shopping experience of customers when applying blockchain technology to e-commerce. In addition, the research results also help shoppers access the benefits of blockchain technology, helping customers feel more secure and confident when buying on e-commerce.

Research and application of tourism management in the IoT industry under the background of sustainable blockchain

In the contemporary era, there is a heightened awareness of the significance of a spiritual life, and travel is a popular choice for many. The Internet is driving rapid diversification in people's travel choices. At the same time, the traditional tourism industry's Tourism Management (TM) model, which has been in place for decades, is no longer able to satisfy people's diversified choices for tourism. This is due to a number of factors, including the trust crisis caused by asymmetric information, the outdated nature of the TM model, and the insecure personal information that is shared between intermediaries. This paper discusses the application of sustainable blockchain technology in tourism management and sets up a tourism management system based on blockchain and the Internet of Things. It takes 20 scenic spots as examples to study the application of the TM model. This paper evaluates the TM model from four key aspects: tourist satisfaction, tourism infrastructure completeness, tourism consumption level and tourism service content richness. It compares the results with those of the traditional TM system. The experimental results are clear: tourist satisfaction at scenic spots 5, 10 and 15 in the sustainable blockchain TM mode is 68 %, 87 % and 71 % respectively, which is higher than that in the traditional TM mode. In the context of sustainable blockchain, the TM mode is the optimal approach for serving tourists and enhancing their travel experience. This study also assists Chinese tourism business operators in recognizing the potential impact of blockchain technology on the development of the tourism industry. They can then formulate strategies at an early stage to cope with the information technology changes in the era of the digital economy.

Implementation of Blockchain Technology in UKTS Library: Challenges, Obstacles and Opportunities

Blockchain is a technology based on cryptography which uses the principle of distributed ledgers (distributed ledgers) distribution) provides a variety of advantages, especially in security matters. Use of distributed ledgers as the basis of blockchain technology turns out to be very similar to that concept is very familiar among libraries, namely LOCKSS (Lots of Copies Keep Stuff Save). This is the meeting point between blockchain technology and libraries. Starting from here, possibilities open up for libraries to implement blockchain technology. Various potential applications of blockchain technology for libraries include: procurement and maintenance of library materials, innovation in circulation services, cataloging, guaranteed protection of personal data and library membership cards, e-book publishing, support for scientific publications and digital rights management, management special collections, research support, financial literacy and UKTS library analysis. However, on the other hand, there are also challenges and obstacles that accompany efforts to implement blockchain technology in UKTS libraries, including: limited knowledge of blockchain technology, challenges in being able to choose the right blockchain, the large costs that must be incurred by libraries starting from implementation costs, maintenance costs to the costs of developing the blockchain system itself, and the last and quite sensitive issue is that there are still some people in scientific circles who think that the issue of personal data security in the blockchain system is not completely safe.
