A Review on the Usability, Flexibility, Affinity, and Affordability of Virtual Technology for Rehabilitation Training of Upper Limb Amputees.

(1) Background: Prosthetic rehabilitation is essential for upper limb amputees to regain their ability to work. However, the abandonment rate of prosthetics is higher than 50% due to the high cost of rehabilitation. Virtual technology shows potential for improving the availability and cost-effectiveness of prosthetic rehabilitation. This article systematically reviews the application of virtual technology for the prosthetic rehabilitation of upper limb amputees. (2) Methods: We followed PRISMA review guidance, STROBE, and CASP to evaluate the included articles. Finally, 17 articles were screened from 22,609 articles. (3) Results: This study reviews the possible benefits of using virtual technology from four aspects: usability, flexibility, psychological affinity, and long-term affordability. Three significant challenges are also discussed: realism, closed-loop control, and multi-modality integration. (4) Conclusions: Virtual technology allows for flexible and configurable control rehabilitation, both during hospital admissions and after discharge, at a relatively low cost. The technology shows promise in addressing the critical barrier of current prosthetic training issues, potentially improving the practical availability of prosthesis techniques for upper limb amputees.

GMPR: A Two-Phase Heuristic Algorithm for Virtual Machine Placement in Large-Scale Cloud Data Centers

In the cloud data centers, due to the variable resource requirements of cloud tenants, designers applied the infrastructure as a service (IaaS) model to provide services for tenants with allocating in charging. The application of virtualization technology enables multiple virtual machines (VMs) to share the resources of a physical machine (PM). Meanwhile, the efficiency of the data centers greatly depends on the working efficiency of VMs. Virtual machine placement (VMP) plays a vital role in minimizing total energy consumption and resource wastage for cloud data centers (CDCs). In this article, we propose a greedy algorithm minimizing power consumption and resource wastage (GMPR) for the VMP scheme to address the abovementioned issues. GMPR prioritizes the power-efficiency of PM to reduce the number of active PMs and to minimize total energy consumption. In addition, reducing total resource wastage involves first minimizing the resource of balance and resource wastage for a novel PM hosts VM and second minimizing resource wastage for PM placed VM. Extensive simulation results are conducted on synthetic and instances of Amazon EC2 with performance metrics confirm that GMPR has superiority in reducing energy consumption and resource wastage by an average of 1.91% and 16.18% compared with a cutting-edge method.

When conducting empirical analysis, the virtual posture disassembly action is complete; the disassembly error is less than 5%, and the disassembly error accuracy is good. The fit degree of the leg bending amplitude reaches over 96%, and the fit degree of the arm bending amplitude reaches over 95%. When the model is applied to actual teaching, the overall satisfaction score of teachers and students reaches 94.6 points. This has effectively improved the teaching effect of art design and is of great significance to the development of education in China.

A Prediction Model Analysis of Behavior Recognition Based on Genetic Algorithm and Neural Network.

With the extensive application of virtual technology and simulation algorithm, motion behavior recognition is widely used in various fields. The original neural network algorithm cannot solve the problem of data redundancy in behavior recognition, and the global search ability is weak. Based on the above reasons, this paper proposes an algorithm based on genetic algorithm and neural network to build a prediction model of behavior recognition. Firstly, genetic algorithm is used to cluster the redundant data, so that the data are in fragment order, and then it is used to reduce the data redundancy of different behaviors and weaken the influence of dimension on behavior recognition. Then, the genetic algorithm clusters the data to form subgenetic particles with different dimensions and carries out coevolution and optimal location sharing for subgenetic particles with different dimensions. Through simulation test, the algorithm constructed in this paper is better than genetic algorithm and neural network algorithm in terms of calculation accuracy and convergence speed. Finally, the prediction model is constructed by setting the initial value and threshold to predict the behavior recognition, and the results show that the accuracy of the model constructed in this paper is improved in the analysis of behavior recognition.

Effectiveness of Virtual Reality and Interactive Simulators on Dental Education Outcomes: Systematic Review.

In recent years, virtual reality and interactive digital simulations have been used in dental education to train dental students before interacting with real patients. Scientific evidence presented the application of virtual technology in dental education and some recent publications suggested that virtual and haptic technologies may have positive effects on dental education outcomes. The aim of this systematic review was to determine whether virtual technologies have positive effects on dental education outcomes and to explore the attitudes of dental students and educators toward these technologies. A thorough search was conducted in PubMed, Scopus, MEDLINE (via EBSCO), The Cochrane Library (via Wiley), Web of Science Core Collection (via Thomson Reuters), and Dentistry and Oral Science source (via EBSCO) using the keywords (student, dental) AND (education, dental) AND (virtual reality) OR (augmented reality) OR (haptics) OR (simulation) AND (dentistry) OR (dental medicine). The quality of the reported information was assessed following the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis (PRISMA) statement for systematic reviews. A total of 73 publications were considered for this review. Fifty-two of the selected studies showed significant improvement in educational outcomes and virtual technologies were positively perceived by all the participants. Within the limitations of this review, virtual technology appears to improve education outcomes in dental students. Further studies with larger samples and longer term clinical trials are needed to substantiate this potential positive impact of various virtual technologies on dental education outcomes.

This study aims to prove that virtualization technology planning, virtualization technology adaptability, and server consolidation services have a positive effect on healthcare management and business, such as operational costs with an impact on more efficient of healthcare small and medium enterprises (SMEs) Internet Service Providers (ISPs) in Indonesia. The data were taken from distributing questionnaires to 77 company representative respondents with the positions of IT Manager, IT Supervisor, and CIO. Data were analyzed by SEM using Smart PLS. The results of the research obtained prove that the operational cost effectiveness of Data Center management is influenced by planning, adaptability, and application of virtualization technology for 5.0. SMES ISPs in Indonesia healthcare sector need to pay attention to new result of planning, adaptability, and implementation of server consolidation services as a determinant of operational and cost effectiveness related to business objectives and management in managing a Data Center in the pandemic, new normal and future challenges.
