Analysis of spatial patterns and influencing factors of farmland transfer in China based on ESDA-GeoDetector

Farmland transfer is a critical component in facilitating agricultural scale management and improving agricultural production efficiency. This study examines the spatial distribution of farmland transfer in China and identifies the factors influencing it, offering valuable guidance for advancing China’s farmland transfer practices. Through the application of mathematical statistics and GIS spatial analysis, the study investigates changes in spatial patterns related to the scale, rate, mode, and recipients of farmland transfer across China's 30 provinces from 2015 to 2020. Geographical detectors are also employed to identify the key factors influencing the extent and pace of farmland transfer. The study reveals that between 2015 and 2020, China's farmland transfer area increased from 29,789 to 37,638 million hectares. Provinces with abundant farmland resources generally experienced larger farmland transfers, while economically developed regions and major grain-producing areas saw higher rates of farmland transfers. The predominant mode of farmland transfer in China was leasing (subcontracting), accounting for over 80% of the total transferred area. Large-scale grain growers and family farms were significant participants in farmland transfers, acquiring approximately 60.1% of the transferred lands, followed by professional cooperatives (21.5%), enterprises (10.4%), and other entities (7.9%). Key factors influencing the farmland transfer area include the "regional farmland area", the "proportion of family farms supported by loans", and the "proportion of non-agricultural population", with explanatory powers of 0.663, 0.319, and 0.225, respectively. Notably, there is a substantial interaction between the "regional farmland area" and factors such as the "proportion of family farms supported by loans" and the "grain yield per unit area", with explanatory powers reaching 0.957 and 0.901, respectively. These findings offer valuable insights for promoting farmland transfer in agriculturally rich regions. Factors affecting the farmland transfer rate include "grain yield per unit area", "GDP per capita", and the "proportion of non-agricultural population", each with an explanatory power above 0.500. Moreover, their interactive explanatory powers with other indicators exceed 0.600, indicating that provinces with high agricultural productivity or economic development levels are more likely to undergo farmland transfer. The paper concludes by proposing strategies and recommendations to promote farmland transfer in both "large agricultural areas" and "metropolitan suburbs."

Application of the Polynomial Function in the Analysis of Statistical Indicators of Risk and Safety in Shipping

Navigation safety issues are of common interest to all maritime countries due to their actions in a complex and risky environment. The world’s most serious ship accidents can cause major economic losses, loss of life, and severe environmental pollution in the sea. The data included in trust and security databases are usually collected from different sources. The accuracy of the collected data may vary from source to source due to a greater number of external and internal factors such as different manufacturers, and working and environmental conditions. The quality of the data may vary due to the incompleteness of the details, subjectivity, and experience of the data collector. Databases on the frequency of failures, the estimation of which can be based on recorded failure events, are difficult to access. Therefore, the aim of the research, based on the available statistical indicators of maritime risks and safety, is to indicate the application of mathematical statistics, analysis and assessment of unwanted events. The statistical methods proposed in the paper aim to point out the importance of prediction and the possibility of improving safety. In this sense, the polynomial function was applied. To visualize the results obtained during the research, the Excel program is used.

Image invariant features and SVM techniques for college level English learning platform

Under the Internet information network environment, College English teaching mode is faced with a new choice and transformation. SPOC and STEAM classes have multiple advantages, which can make up for the lack of a single teaching model and provide new ideas for teaching reform. It is a practical application of statistical method to optimize the model of artificial neural network by machine learning method of statistics. The application of mathematical statistics can solve some related problems of artificial perception. Therefore, artificial neural network has the same simple decision ability and judgment ability as human beings. In this paper, the authors analyze the image invariant features and SVM algorithms application in college English education platform. The results show that this method has a positive effect on learners’ English proficiency and learning effect. Teachers also avoid paying a lot of labor, which is very beneficial to the implementation of innovative teaching. However, compared with the traditional teaching, the phenomenon of student achievement differentiation is very serious, and teaching is facing great pressure. Therefore, improving students’ autonomous learning ability and teachers’ information literacy is still very helpful to improve the teaching effect.

Evaluation of the effect of height parameters on landscape transformation in medium zarafshan landscapes on the basis of modern methods

Special attention is paid to landscape reclamation in the field of ecology and environmental protection, the study of landscape stratification and their structure using modern methods, including aerospace, remote sensing, geoinformation systems. Carrying out landscape research based on modern methods requires analyzing and evaluating their existing capabilities, identifying current problems and developing ways to solve them on a scientific basis. Threedimensional models of regions, mathematical modeling of geographical events, application of mathematical statistics in the study of individual components, in turn, in the study of complex dynamic processes occurring in landscape classes and their morphological units, their differentiation and transformation based on the specifics of regions attention is paid. This article analyzes the topography of the area, which is a key component of the landscape, the relationships between them, and the impact of these relationships on plant vegetation indices (NDVI).

Small-scale sediment scouring and siltation laws in the evolution trends of fluvial facies in the Ningxia Plain Reaches of the Yellow River (NPRYR)

This study presents an analysis of variable sediment erosion and deposition, and their the complex mechanism in natural heavy silt-carrying rivers in the Ningxia Plain Reaches of the Yellow River (NPRYR). The aims of this study are to examine the sediment scouring and siltation laws, along with the evolution trend of fluvial facies in the NPRYR. Four small-scale typical reaches (R1, R2, R3, and R4) were divided firstly based on river regimes and geological conditions of the river beds. And then with ground-truth data from 1993 to 2015, a cross-section morphology method was used to calculate the average fluvial facies coefficient ζa of the typical river reaches, and also the sediment siltation weight T during the different time periods. In this study, with application of mathematical statistics and regression analysis, the main channel, beach, and whole reach were used as the basic units in order to identify the relationships of the responses among the suspended sediment concentration per unit discharge (ξ), sediment deposition per unit water weight (W), and variations of the fluvial facies coefficient (△ζa) in different units. This analysis is for establishing the prediction method for the sediment erosion and deposition, along with the evolution trends of fluvial facies. Our results show a logarithmic mapping relationship between the ξ and W, and significant correlation between T and △ζa. Therefore, a quick analysis and prediction of the silt sedimentation, and the trends of fluvial facies variations in the small-scale river reaches under a single water and sediment condition are feasible with our approaches presented here. The critical incoming sediment coefficient ξcs for the scouring and siltation balance in the R1 to R3 reaches were 0.0051 kg·s·m−6, 0.0055 kg·s·m−6, and 0.0049 kg·s·m−6, respectively, while the R4 reach shows an overall continuous siltation trend. The fluvial facies coefficient of the R1 to R4 reaches show an overall decreasing trend. Our results provided robust theoretical support for analyzing the sediment erosion and siltation, and the river regime evolution in the NPRYR. Our study also indicates a need for future research with an aim to further understand the evolution of erosion and siltation in heavy silt-carrying rivers.

Analysis of fraud controls using the PaySim financial simulator

Fraud controls for financial transactions are needed and required by law enforcement agencies to flag suspicious criminal activity. These controls however require deeper analysis of the effectiveness and the negative impact for the legal customers. Owing to the intrinsically private nature of financial transactions this analysis is often performed after several months of actively using fraud controls. In this paper, we present an analysis of different fraud prevention controls on a mobile money service based on thresholds using a simulator called PaySim. PaySim uses aggregated data from a sample dataset to generate a synthetic dataset that resembles the normal operation of transactions and injects malicious behaviour. With technology frameworks such as agent-based simulation techniques, and the application of mathematical statistics, we show in this paper that the simulated data can be as prudent as the original dataset for setting optimal controls for fraud detection.

Application of Statistical Methods in Education Sciences: the Didactical Principles in the Educational Means Prepared by Bronislovas Bitinas

Based on works of professor B. Bitinas this article analyses educational materials on applying statistical methods in education sciences. The educational materials on applying statistical methods in education sciences can be classified into two groups: methodological group (the application of mathematical statistics in quantitative research) and technological group (computer software for processing quantitative research data). The article analyses application of didactical principles in the methodological group and the technological group.
 Didactical principles provide direction for learning process and govern contents, methods and organisation of learning. Different didactical principles can be used when preparing educational materials on the applying statistical methods in education as principle of the availability and principle of relation between the theory and practise.
 Application of statistical methods in education sciences is influenced by technological tools used for processing statistical data. These tools changed from electronic calculating machines (ECM) to modern computers with modern statistical programs. Technological change influences didactical principles applied for preparing educational materials on applying statistical methods in education sciences.
 The comparative analysis of learning materials on applying statistical methods in education sciences prepared by Professor B. Bitinas shows that the principle of availability was an important principle at the time of the processing statistical data using the ECM. This principle is less important when statistical data is processed using modern statistical computer programs. Didactical principle of the relation between theory and practice was important in the early (the eighth-ninth decade of XX century) and later stages (the twentyfirst century.)
 Professor B. Bitinas prepared both methodological (the usage of mathematical statistics into quantitative research) and technological (computer software for quantitative research data processing) learning means. The didactical principles in the methodological and technological learning means are different. The principle of the availability and the principle of relation between the theory and practise dominate in the methodological learning means. The principle of systematization and continuity is important in technological learning means.

Photoelast Method and Possible Applications of Mathematical Statistics in Prediction of Stress State of Structural Elements

The presented article is dedicated to stress state development while assessing the concentration of stresses in samples with continuously changing notches. These samples represent connecting elements of structural parts. The stress states of selected samples were determined experimentally by means of reflection photoelasticity. This method is suitable mainly for determination of stress state in the whole area in question, predominantly though for the analysis of stress concentration and its gradient in the notched area. Within the method of reflection photoelasticity, a layer was used to analyse the stress field. When loaded, this layer exhibits the ability of temporal birefringence. One of the statistical methods was selected in order to predict the stress state of other samples with bigger notches.

Comparison and anti-concentration bounds for maxima of Gaussian random vectors

Slepian and Sudakov–Fernique type inequalities, which compare expectations of maxima of Gaussian random vectors under certain restrictions on the covariance matrices, play an important role in probability theory, especially in empirical process and extreme value theories. Here we give explicit comparisons of expectations of smooth functions and distribution functions of maxima of Gaussian random vectors without any restriction on the covariance matrices. We also establish an anti-concentration inequality for the maximum of a Gaussian random vector, which derives a useful upper bound on the Lévy concentration function for the Gaussian maximum. The bound is dimension-free and applies to vectors with arbitrary covariance matrices. This anti-concentration inequality plays a crucial role in establishing bounds on the Kolmogorov distance between maxima of Gaussian random vectors. These results have immediate applications in mathematical statistics. As an example of application, we establish a conditional multiplier central limit theorem for maxima of sums of independent random vectors where the dimension of the vectors is possibly much larger than the sample size.

In 1955 he was awarded a Master’s degree for a thesis “Power of control chart for individual observations” prepared under the supervision of Prof. Wieslaw Sadowski. J. M. RASSIAS PRODUCT-SUM STABILITY OF AN EULER-LAGRANGE FUNCTIONAL EQUATION

In 1940 (and 1964) S. M. Ulam proposed the well-known Ulam stability problem. In 1941 D. H. Hyers solved the Hyers-Ulam problem for lin- ear mappings. In 1992 and 2008, J. M. Rassias introduced the Euler-Lagrange quadratic mappings and the JMRassias \product-sum stability, respectively. In this paper we introduce an Euler-Lagrange type quadratic functional equa- tion and investigate the JMRassias \product-sum stability of this equation. The stability results have applications in Mathematical Statistics, Stochastic Analysis and Psychology.

Dynamics of an ideal liquid with a free surface in conformal variables

Problems of mathematical hydrodynamics with a free surface in conformal variables are studied. Analytical solvability in Hilbert space scale and numerical techniques of finding approximate solutions are considered. The lifetime for solutions, a constructive evaluation, and application of mathematical statistics to the solvability of nonlinear equations are studied. Multiple numerical experiments of the methods considered are shown. A lot of these methods can be applied not only to problems of mathematical hydrodynamics with a free surface but to abstract Cauchy–Kovalevskaya problems in Banach spaces scale as well.

Zur Position von Mathematik und Mathematiker/innen in der Industrieforschung vor 1945

The paper considers the status of mathematics and mathematicians in German industrial labs from the 1920s. As an example, we take the use of statistical methods in the electrical engineering company Osram in Berlin. In the United States, the former employee and member of a special mathematical research department of the Bell Telephone Laboratories, Walter Andrew Shewhart (1891–1967), is regarded as the father of statistical quality control. Although the first textbook on applications of mathematical statistics to problems of mass production was published in Germany in 1927, Germany was nevertheless generally considered as conservative in using statistical methods until 1945. In the past we have known little about whether and how these methods were actually applied in German industry before 1945. The present analysis is based on laboratory reports and other sources. It shows that in this field of research there was a close cooperation between industry and university, which was cut off in the mid 1930s due to the Nazi regime. Furthermore, we discovered that female researchers – such as Iris Runge (1888–1966) in the Osram company – could as individuals play a decisive role as mathematical consultants. A generalization of Student's t-distribution from the viewpoint of special functions

Student's t-distribution has found various applications in mathematical statistics. One of the main properties of the t-distribution is to converge to the normal distribution as the number of samples tends to infinity. In this paper, by using a Cauchy integral we introduce a generalization of the t-distribution function with four free parameters and show that it converges to the normal distribution again. We provide a comprehensive treatment of mathematical properties of this new distribution. Moreover, since the Fisher F-distribution has a close relationship with the t-distribution, we also introduce a generalization of the F-distribution and prove that it converges to the chi-square distribution as the number of samples tends to infinity. Finally, some particular sub-cases of these distributions are considered.
