Application and Exploration of Cooperative Learning in English Classroom

The new curriculum reform emphasizes the change of students' learning style and the reform of classroom teaching form, which requires teaching to develop towards the direction of autonomy, cooperation and inquiry, one of the important and specific goals is to change the ubiquitous passive acceptance of students' learning style, advocating students' participation in cooperative learning. Cooperative learning is a teaching activity that takes heterogeneous learning groups as the basic form system, utilizes the interaction between dynamic factors of teaching to promote students' learning, takes group achievement as the evaluation standard, and achieves teaching objectives together. Taking English classroom as an example, this paper discusses the application of cooperative learning in language learning. First, it introduces the concept and theoretical basis of cooperative learning, and its value and application in language learning. Secondly, through the analysis of cooperative learning practices in English classrooms, the main influencing factors and coping strategies of cooperative learning effectiveness are summarized. Then, effective regulation methods are proposed from the perspective of teachers and some suggestions are put forward to improve the application of cooperative learning in language learning. Finally, some suggestions on the future research of cooperative learning are put forward.

Cognitive Competence of Prospective Elementary Teachers on Realistic Mathematic Education through Cooperative Learning

Having cognitive competence in mastering learning theory and designing learning is one of the important competencies for prospective teachers to have. The description of prospective teacher competence is important for lectures to follow up. One approach to learning in mathematics is Realistic Mathematic Education (RME). RME is a student-centered approach to learning mathematics adopted from the Netherlands and holds to the principle that mathematics is a human activity. This learning approach has been implemented massively in the last few decades in Indonesia and has had a positive impact so this approach is important to teach. However, there are still many prospective elementary teachers who do not know and understand what and how to implement RME itself. Because of the importance of the cognitive competence that prospective elementary teachers must have regarding this RME approach, further research is needed on this matter. The aim of this study is to describe how the cognitive abilities of prospective elementary teachers on RME approach with the application of cooperative learning. The method used in this study was descriptive qualitative with observation and survey data collection techniques which were analyzed using cognitive levels according to PISA and Anderson on 50 prospective elementary teachers in Yogyakarta State University or in Bahasa Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta (UNY) 4th semester students. The results of this study were that most students had a fairly good theoretical understanding of RME. Although to apply it in learning mathematics requires more training, especially in designing contextual problems and how to evaluate them with various other approaches in learning mathematics.

PENERAPAN COOPERATIF LEARNING DALAM MENINGKATKAN AKTIVITAS BELAJAR ISLAMIC MULTICULTURAL EDUCATION DI UPTD SD NEGERI TOGUBANG 3 KECAMATAN GEGER - KABUPATEN BANGKALAN

This study investigates the application of Cooperative Learning to enhance Islamic Multicultural Education at UPTD SD Negeri Togubang 3, Geger District - Bangkalan Regency, utilizing a qualitative research approach. Cooperative Learning models, including CIRC, Make a Match, IOC, Mind Mapping, Kartu Arisan, and others, were strategically selected based on the Islamic education curriculum. The preparatory phase involved setting objectives, defining tasks, and planning instructional processes. Interviews with educators and observations highlighted the importance of active student participation and group dynamics. Support from the school principal, teacher competency, and student interest were identified as crucial factors facilitating Cooperative Learning success. Challenges, such as limited Islamic Multicultural Education resources, were acknowledged. Despite challenges, Cooperative Learning significantly improved Islamic Multicultural Education activities. The study underscores the need for ongoing support, resource enhancement, and a commitment to pedagogical innovation for sustained effectiveness. The positive impact of student enthusiasm emphasizes the importance of maintaining and encouraging active participation.

The Influence of Student Diversity on Applying Cooperative Learning in Ethiopian Polytechnic Colleges

Cooperative learning is more effective in a well-managed classroom with diverse ethnic, linguistic, and religious backgrounds. To that end, this study examined the state of applications of cooperative learning and student diversity in polytechnic colleges in southwest Ethiopia. A qualitative research methodology, specifically grounded theory design was employed to achieve the research purpose. The empirical data was gathered from 20 educational officials through in-depth interviews at sample polytechnic colleges. Student diversity found to have a significant influence on how cooperative learning is implemented. It has also been found that the perception of department heads towards diversity has a significant influence on the application of cooperative learning. The study’s findings also showed that managing diversity among students and interacting with peers within groups and from other groups has a positive influence on cooperative learning. In conclusion, the application of cooperative learning is affected by perceptional and structural factors of student diversity. Thus, this research recommends further study to be conducted on the relationship between diversity management and cooperative learning.

The Application of Cooperative Learning (Talking Stick) with Multimedia to Improve Javanese Reading Skills to Fifth Grade Students of SD Negeri 1 Panjer in Academic Year of 2022/2023

<p><em>The study aimed to improve Javanese script reading skills to fifth grade of SD Negeri 1 Panjer in academic year of 2022/2023 through the application of Talking Stick with multimedia. It was a collaborative Classroom Action Research conducted in three cycles. The subjects were teachers and students of fifth grade at SD Negeri 1 Panjer in academic year of 2022/2023. The data were qualitative and quantitative. Data collection techniques were observation, interviews, and tests. Data validity used triangulation of sources and triangulation of sources techniques. Data analysis included data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The percentages of students’ passing grades in Javanese script reading skills were 72% in the first cycle, 80% in the second cycle, 92% in the third cycle. It concludes that the application of Talking Stick with multimedia improves Javanese script reading skills to fifth grade students of SD Negeri 1 Panjer in academic year of 2022/2023.</em></p>

Enhancing Learning Process by Applying Cooperative Learning Supported with Augmented Reality Environment

This study aims to examine the influence of Augmented Reality (AR) on Cooperative Learning (CL) and Students' Achievement (SA) within the context of education. This study employed a survey-based research design to investigate the proposed connections between constructs, using a two-step methodology to empirically examine the hypothesized relationships. The data collection process involved the creation of a meticulously designed, structured questionnaire, specifically targeting students at the Institute of Public Administration in KSA. A pilot test was conducted with the assistance of three experienced instructors, and a remarkable response rate of 67% was achieved with 81 completed questionnaires, of which 67 were deemed usable for analysis. To test the hypothesized associations, the cutting-edge partial least squares (PLS) modeling approach was employed, ensuring accurate and reliable results. The learning process begins with teachers explaining the new learning process and students being grouped based on cooperative learning strategies. Students will be asked to install the ARLOOPA application on their mobile devices and given printed cards to scan with their mobile devices. The findings provide compelling evidence supporting the hypotheses, indicating that the use of AR has a positive effect on both CL and SA. Furthermore, the study confirms the reciprocal relationship between CL and SA, suggesting that CL implementation fosters improved student achievement. Overall, this study contributes to the existing literature and provides valuable insights into the application of AR to enhance cooperative learning and student achievement.

MENINGKATKAN PEMAHAMAN HADIST RIWAYAT MUSLIM DARI ABU. HURAIRAH DAN AKTIVITAS SISWA DALAM PEMBELAJARAN QURAN HADIST MELALUI PENDEKATAN COOPERATIVE LEARNING

The purpose of writing this article is to describe the results of classroom action research on the application of Cooperative Learning in increasing students' understanding of the hadiths of Muslim history from Abu Huraira and students' activity. The hadith in question is about helping others. The research sample was students grade VIII of MTS N 1 Pati. Data collection uses observation method, learning achievement tests and questionnaires. Quantitative and qualitative data analysis techniques. The results showed that the application of Cooperative Learning can improve students' understanding of the hadiths of Muslim narrations from Abu Huraira and increase studens' activity in Al-Quran Hadith subjects

시민의 대학-지역사회 연계 협동학습 프로그램 참여 경험에 관한 질적 사례연구

The purpose of this study is to provide the program effectiveness and the possibility of university-region linkage according to the application of cooperative learning through the community-linked cooperative learning program conducted at D University in Gyeongbuk. In order to achieve the purpose of the study, interviews were conducted with 13 program participants. First, citizen participants preferred cooperative learning to lecture-type traditional learning, but class satisfaction was different depending on their liking for fellow participants. Second, participation in the program had a positive effect on the sense of belonging to the community and the formation of social networks. Third, the mutual feedback of cooperative learning was effective in strengthening activity participation and emotional bonding. Fourth, the experience of participating in the program helped change the perception of local universities. In short, the community connection program was a useful program for university and citizen participants, and cooperative learning acted as an effective learning method for all participants.

Implementation of Integrity Thematic Learning in The New Normal Era at SD Negeri Banua Anyar 2

Learning is part of education; education is an essential means of improving the quality of human resources in ensuring the sustainability of a nation's Development so that the application of learning in the education system can become a benchmark for the quality of the nation's future progress. Early education in Indonesia starts from Elementary School (SD) and through the application of cooperative learning in elementary schools with the 2013 curriculum. The government emphasises using integrative thematic learning approaches in learning basic subjects in elementary schools and a scientific approach in the learning process. So that during the implementation period in elementary schools, there was an impact on the new normal era after COVID-19, especially at the Banua Anyar 2 Public Elementary School learning activities. This study used a qualitative approach to examine the subject in the planning process, applying integrative thematic learning. So this study aims to determine the application of integrative thematic learning during the new normal era in class V at SD Negeri Banua Anyar 2 Banjarmasin.

Efforts to Improve Learning Quality for Civil Study on Unity in Diversity Through the Team Game Tournament (TGT) Method in Class IV Elementary School Students

The purpose of the srudy are; (1) to describe the application of the Teams Games Tournament (TGT) learning model, and (2) to determine the improvement in the quality of learning through TGT Model. This research method is qualitative. It was found that 1) student test results in cycle I meeting 1 obtained an average student test result of 55.42 with a completeness percentage of 25%, cycle I meeting 2 obtained an average student test result of 63.33 with a completeness percentage of 38%, cycle II meeting 1 obtained an average student test result of 72.50 with a completeness percentage of 54%, cycle II meeting 2 obtained an average student test result of 85.83 with a completeness percentage of 100%, shows a significant increase in achievement. 2) The application of cooperative learning through TGT can improve the quality of student civic education learning outcomes. The average score of students' test results each cycle has increased. In cycle I meeting 1 obtained an average student test result of 55.42 with a completeness percentage of 25%, cycle I meeting 2 obtained an average student test result of 63.33 with a completeness percentage of 38%, cycle II meeting 1 obtained an average student test result of 72.50 with a completeness percentage of 54%, cycle II meeting 2 obtained an average student test result of 85.83 with a completeness percentage of 100%, shows a significant increase in achievement.

Perceptions of Trainees and Trainers towards Diversity Management in Applying Cooperative Learning in Technical and Vocational Colleges

The implementation of cooperative learning is highly influenced by the student diversity management. This study investigated how cooperative learning was employed at technical and vocational colleges in southwest Ethiopia to manage student diversity. To that end, a mixed research methodology was used to carry out the research investigation. The empirical data was acquired from 458 trainees, 181 trainers, and 24 educational officials using questionnaires and in-depth interviews. An independent sample t-test analysis showed that trainees have more favorable perceptions of students' diversity management in the application of cooperative learning than do trainers. Cooperative learning has been found to work better in diverse classrooms than in monolithic groupings.

The Influence of Cooperative Learning Accompanied By Image Media on The Initial Writing Ability of Grade 1 Elementary School Students In Terms of VAK Learning Style

Media learning can be disadvantaged into four types, namely: (1) Visual media, which only relies on students' senses of sight; (2) Audio media, which only involves students' hearing, (3) Audiovisual media, which involves hearing and sight simultaneously in one process or activity; and (4) Multimedia, which involves several types of media and equipment in an integrated manner in a learning process or activity. This study aims to analyze the effect of the application of cooperative learning using visual media on the beginning writing ability of first graders of elementary school in terms of VAK (Visual, Auditory, Kinesthetic) learning styles through a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental nonequivalent control group design. Data analysis was carried out using the t-test (t-independent samples) on the n-gain control class and the experimental class. The results showed that there was an effect of the application of cooperative learning with picture media on the initial writing ability for 1st-grade elementary school students in terms of VAK (Visual, Auditory, Kinesthetic) learning styles with the highest effect seen in students with kinesthetic learning styles.

Pengaruh Penerapan Metode Kartu Berpasangan dalam Pembelajaran IPS untuk Meningkatkan Hasil Belajar Siswa di MTs Raudhatul Akmal

This research is motivated by the low interest in student learning in Social Sciences (IPS) subjects. This is due in large part to the fact that most social studies lessons are placed at the end of class, where at the end of the class students begin to feel lazy to study and also sleepy, besides that students are not able to answer the feedback given by the teacher about the material just being taught, students are less involved active in the learning process. Teachers who tend to use the lecture method because social studies studies talk a lot about theory, this makes students more easily bored following lessons and seems difficult to answer test questions. The formulation of the problem in this study is whether the application of cooperative learning through paired card media can improve social studies learning outcomes for students at MTs Raudhatul Akmal Batang Kuis, Medan.

Penerapan Strategi Cooperative Learning Pada Mata Pelajaran SKI Kelas VII MTs Darul Aitami Aceh Selatan

Learning strategy can be interpreted as a plan that contains a series of activities designed to achieve certain educational goals. Cooperative learning is learning that is carried out together or in groups between students and other students, who help each other in solving a problem on the material that has been given by the teacher in order to achieve completeness in achieving the lesson. Learning Islamic Cultural History (SKI) is a conscious effort made by the teacher to provide knowledge to students about important events that occurred in Islamic civilization and its figures with the aim of motivating students towards noble behavior changes. This study aims to describe the implementation of cooperative learning in SKI class VII MTs Darul Aitami Aceh Selatan. This study used a qualitative approach with descriptive analysis of the data that the author obtained in the field. Data collection was done by interview and observation. The author conducted interviews with SKI subject teachers and the author made continuous observations of class VII. And the results of the study show that the application of cooperative learning carried out by SKI subject teachers at MTs Darul Aitami is fairly "good". This can be seen from the process of preliminary activities, core activities and closing activities where most of the indicators are well achieved.

Cooperative work and neuroeducation in mathematics education of future teachers: A good combination?

In order to respond to the new approaches in higher education, this paper presents the didactic experience of the implementation of a methodological approach based on cooperative learning and the literature review on neuroeducation in 53 students enrolled in the 3rd year of the degree in Early Childhood Education in the subject of Development of Logical-Mathematical Thinking and its Didactics II. The application of cooperative learning in combination with the literature review on neuroeducation aimed to teach future teachers how they should act with their future pupils (aged 3 to 6 years) with special educational support needs (SEN) at school. The design of the proposal to be used was also adjusted to the didactic resources available. The represented contents worked on were magnitudes, time, length, weight, and geometry. The data collected were the activities of the teacher training students (didactic proposals) adapted to the early childhood development stage. They were to be created, so that the main objective was that the undergraduate students would be able to solve the exercises as children would. The students were even challenged to make an exhibition in which they had to act as teachers and their classmates would be the children with SEN. The proposals were evaluated according to a rubric, with an emphasis on the students' teachers' awareness of students with SEN. To conclude, the degree of satisfaction of the student teachers with this methodology was high. This shows that learning neuroeducation and cooperative work makes future teachers know how to teach mathematics also to students with SEN.

IMPLEMENTATION OF COOPERATIVE LEARNING USING STAD TECHNIQUES IN IMPROVING LEARNING OUTCOMES TOWARD CULINARY STUDENTS

The learning method is one of the elements of learning that determines how well a teacher delivers learning materials so that learning objectives are attained. Unattractive learning methods can affect student learning outcomes. Therefore, this study aimed to determine and analyze the application of the learning method, namely the Cooperative Learning (CL) with the Student Teams Achievement Division (STAD) technique to improve learning outcomes for the subject matter of Milk and Its Processed Products for students at Jakarta State Vocational Highschool 38. Research method of the study used a quasi-experimental method. The research sample were students of 1st grade of Culinary in Jakarta State Vocational Highschool 38 who were taking the subject of Foodstuffs Knowledge. The results showed that the class which was applied CL method with STAD technique had an average score of improvement (delta pre-test and post-test) of 7.80, while the class that was applied the conventional method was 4.35. It was concluded that there is an increase in student learning outcomes in the subject of Foodstuffs Knowledge, especially the subject matter of milk and its processed products with the application of Cooperative Learning (CL) Student Teams Achievement Division (STAD) technique which is significantly better than conventional methods.

Pelatihan Model Pembelajaran Kooperatif (Cooperative Learning) Bagi Tutor Paud Pada Masa Pandemi di Kecamatan Cipayung Jakarta Timur

PAUD teachers during a pandemic have potential environmental support that can be useful for Cooperative Learning. However, PAUD teachers during the pandemic have not been able to understand the concept of Cooperative Learning nor have they been able to properly contain the concept of Cooperative Learning and have difficulties in implementing it. Based on this condition, the implementation of Community Service (P2M) is in the form of learning training using Cooperative Learning. This activity is in the form of training with methods used online, semi-workshops and practical in this P2M activity, PAUD tutors are given understanding, training and assistance regarding Cooperative Learning aimed at increasing understanding and application of Cooperative Learning in learning. The expected result after this training is that there is a significant change in the learning competence of PAUD teachers by showing an increase in teachers' understanding of Cooperative Learning, as well as an increase in skills in learning using Cooperative Learning.

Improving Students' Learning Achievement Through Cooperative Learning and Padlet Application in Class XI MIPA 3

Chemistry learning is still less active which can be seen t students tend to be passive and less enthusiastic in learning. Students participate in learning activities with less enthusiasm and tend to wait for explanations from the teacher. One of the solutions used to overcome this is the cooperative learning model and the use of padlet application media. The purpose of this study was to find out the application of cooperative learning and padlet application media in class XI MIPA 3. The research sample was students in class XI MIPA 3 SMA N 1 Mirit, Kebumen consisting of 36 students. The research was conducted in 3 meetings. This type of research is quantitative research using descriptive analysis. Screening data through pretest and posttest value data. The results showed that learning using cooperative learning and padlet applications increased 30.94% of student achievement in class XI MIPA 3 SMA N 1 Mirit.

EFFORTS TO IMPROVE THE LEARNING OUTCOMES OF CLASS IX A OF UPT SMP NEGERI 27 GRESIK IN CONGRUENCE AND SIMILARITY THROUGH A COOPERATIVE LEARNING MODEL BASED ON ANIMATION MEDIA

Teaching and learning activities are carried out gradually based on its difficulty level. This avoids the assumption that studying at school is difficult, hypothetically regarding mathematics. For UPT SMP Negeri 27 Gresik students, many students complained that mathematics subjects are scary, uninteresting, difficult and do not seem to have any correlation with everyday life. These complaints are the negative perception of mathematics. Meanwhile, there are also students who enjoy the fun of mathematics and are challenged to solve every math problem. These condition is the positive perception of mathematics.From the results of learning activities that have been carried out for three cycles, and based on all the discussions and analyzes, learning activities throughcooperative learning based on animation media has a positive impact on improving student achievement, which is characterized by an increase in student learning completeness in each cycle: cycle I (65.63 %), cycle II ( 78.13 %), and cycle III (93.75 %). The application of cooperative learning based on animation media has a positive influence, which can improve student achievement shown by the average student answers stating that students are interested

Students’ Attitudes Towards Applying Cooperative Learning Strategy at Amman Arab University

The current research aimed at discussing the use of the Cooperative Learning strategy and its applications in AAU English courses. The researchers collected the data from several online resources and books. A questionnaire was developed as another assessment tool and was distributed to Amman Arab University students. The sample was 600 students from all faculties. In addition to conducting interviews with English Doctors at Amman Arab University to inquire about their teaching strategies and methods and the extent to which they apply them. The findings of the interviews were very positive. In consensus, they preferred face-to-face instruction as well as various cooperative strategies. Moreover, the results of the questionnaires showed that students’ attitudes towards Cooperative Learning were high, as the means reached (3.810) with a standard deviation of (0.507). Furthermore, students aged twenty years and over displayed more interest and involvement concerning the Cooperative Learning strategies than others. Regarding the gender variable, it was in favor of the females. Some recommendations were suggested to be implemented in teaching English.
