Penerapan Etika Birokrasi dalam Kualitas Pelayanan Publik KPU Kabupaten Mojokerto

Realizing the services needed by the community is the task of bureaucrats who are in the government bureaucracy. Mojokerto Regency as one of the regions in Indonesia also has a duty to provide quality public services to the community. Therefore, the application of bureaucratic Ethics in the quality of public services in the Mojokerto Regency KPU is very important to improve the quality of public services in the area. The purpose of this study was to determine how the application of bureaucratic Ethics in the quality of public services in the Mojokerto Regency Commission. This study uses descriptive qualitative research methods with data collection through observation and interview. The result of this study is that the Mojokerto Regency KPU has made several efforts to implement bureaucratic Ethics in public services. By applying bureaucratic Ethics in public services, the Mojokerto Regency KPU provides better public services and fulfills the rights of the community to obtain quality public services. In addition, these efforts can also increase public confidence in the bureaucracy and local government. Therefore, the application of bureaucratic Ethics in the quality of public services in the Mojokerto Regency KPU is very important to improve the quality of public services in the area.

Нравственный императив судьи: к проблеме доминантных этических дефиниций в процессе профессиональной подготовки специалиста

The article addresses the importance of understanding and observing moral principles for the judge’s effective work. The author investigates the place, role, and significance of such concepts as honesty, impartiality, justice, duty, and conscience in shaping the moral imperative of a judge’s professional personality. In addition, the arti-cle points out the ambiguity of interpretations and the lack of a common understanding of these categories both in society and among the professional community of judges and scholars, which can lead to different interpre-tations and problems in the application of moral principles in practice. The author ascertain the necessity of taking into account ethical categories in the professional training of judges, as well as clarification of terminolo-gy and development of metrics to control and supervise the observance of moral principles. The article is in-tended to raise the problem, defining the field for theoretical and practical research, recommendations in the field of professional ethics and training of judges in the Russian Federation.

Human Life Represented in Kelong Basing Tribe Kajang

An Indonesian group known as the Kajang tribe has a history of Basing Kelong after funerals. Kelong Basing is a distinctive tradition that is still practiced today. This custom hasn't, however, been publicly recorded. Documentation needs to be completed in order for the Basing Kelong to continue to be viable and well-maintained. This study aims to illustrate how the Ammatoa people of the Kajang tribe express the path of human existence in their Basing Kelong. This study employs a qualitative descriptive methodology. The study incorporates literary ecology theories. The Ammatoa people of the Kajang tribe, who spoke Basing's Kelong, are the source of the research's data. Data was gathered in the field and at the library. The data were analyzed based on diction and diction strands in Basing Kelong. Diction and strings of diction are transcribed and transliterated to get messages, meanings, and values. The research succeeded in finding three representations of human life in the Basing Kelong, a resident of the Ammatoa tribe of Kajang, namely: the human biological mother is the land, which is the source of life; humans in the world are only temporary, so they must live a simple life, and humans must be patient so that in the world and the hereafter they can find happiness and serenity. These three results were obtained by using a literary ecological study approach to the Basing Kelong. Therefore, it can be concluded that the Ammatoa people of the Kajang tribe have always inherited the application of life ethics and social ethics in living life in the universe.

Islamic Business Ethics of Small Industries in Blitar District

Islam was revealed as a code of moral and ethical behavior for life. The sources of values ​​and ethics in all aspects of human life as a whole, including in the business world, are the Koran and Hadith. The Al-Quran provides instructions for things to be harmonious, mutually pleased, and there are no elements of exploitation. The type of research used in this research is qualitative research. The purpose of this research is to find out the analysis of the application of sales ethics in the Gadung cracker industry according to business ethics from an Islamic perspective and to find out the analysis of the application of transaction ethics in the Gadung cracker industry according to business ethics from an Islamic perspective. The results of the research state that sales ethics. In reality, all producers cannot implement all the principles of buying and selling ethics. Mrs. Nanik's home industry applies the principle of honesty or truth as a priority. Pengaruh Penerapan Etika Bisnis Kualitas Pelayanan dan Promosi terhadap Kepuasan Konsumen dalam Perspektif Islam di Rumah Makan Ilo Peta Kota Bima

This study aims to determine the effect of the application of business ethics, service quality and promotion on consumer satisfaction in an Islamic perspective at the Ilo Peta Kota Bima restaurant. Business ethics influences customer satisfaction in an Islamic perspective seen from services that have a good level of ethics, service quality affects consumers who provide services according to Islamic law, promotions affect consumer satisfaction seen from the absence of lies in each advertisement so that people can be interested and easily known by the general public. The purpose of this study was to see how far the influence of business ethics, service quality and promotion on customer satisfaction at the Ilo Peta restaurant, Kota Bima. In this study, a quantitative approach was used, with a sample of 257 respondents and the analytical technique used in the study used multiple linear analysis, data that met the requirements for analysis were processed using the SPPS program. From the results of statistical testing the results of this study regarding the application of business ethics, service quality and promotion have a positive, simultaneous and significant effect on customer satisfaction in an Islamic perspective.

Practice Implications of the Increasing use of AI in Healthcare – A Reflective Contemplation with a Relational Ethics Lens

There is an increasing use of machines that use artificial intelligence (AI) in the healthcare setting. Given the current shortages in human resources, the idea of care robots and other AI supportive systems is an emerging potential solution. However, AI such as care robots may pose the question of whether the notion of care is compatible with designs that focus on data and efficiencies. In this paper, I endeavour to examine the application of AI such as care robots and use relational ethics to anchor the discussion. I invite readers to contemplate some legal, ethical, and social implications regarding the use of AI in healthcare. In addition, I am offering some practice implications that could be relevant in the healthcare setting. I wrote with a reflective approach. It is my position that the application of relational ethics is appropriate when we consider using AI in healthcare because if AI such as care robots are to care for humans, then its functions should have relational elements.
 

“They Always Get Our Story Wrong”: Addressing Social Justice Activists’ News Distrust Through Solidarity Reporting

This study positions social justice activists’ objections to dominant reporting norms as a catalyst for critically reassessing these norms and their connection to diminishing trust in US journalism. Based on a conceptual application of discourse ethics to journalism and qualitative analysis of 28 in-depth interviews with social justice activists, we examine how participants experience and evaluate mainstream coverage of social justice, and why they think journalism could improve its trustworthiness through practices consistent with solidarity<em> </em>reporting norms.

Analysing engagement with Indigenous Peoples in the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change’s Sixth Assessment Report

Indigenous Peoples’ advocacy and contributions to climate action have drawn international attention, including from the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC). This article assesses to which degree the IPCC’s Sixth Assessment Report (AR6) recognises the role and knowledge systems of Indigenous Peoples. Through a content analysis of the Working Groups I, II, and III reports and the Synthesis Report, we found an increasing number of references related to Indigenous Peoples and their knowledge systems. However, the IPCC still perpetuates a reductionist approach that reinforces harmful stereotypes. Overcoming this weakness requires greater reflexivity and concrete actions, including consistent recognition of Indigenous Peoples’ rights, refraining from merely portraying Indigenous Peoples as vulnerable and adopting a strengths-based approach, ensuring ethical and equitable application of Indigenous Peoples’ knowledge systems, and involving Indigenous Peoples from the scoping process. By implementing these measures, the IPCC can improve its partnership with Indigenous Peoples in preparation for AR7.

Guidelines for the establishment and functioning of Animal Ethics Commitees (Institutional Animal Care and Use Committees) in Africa.

Animals are used for scientific purposes across Africa to benefit humans, animals or the environment. Nonetheless, ethical and regulatory oversight remains limited in many parts of the continent. To strengthen this governance framework, the Pan-African Network for Laboratory Animal Science and Ethics brought together experts from 12 African countries to create an Africa-centric practical guide to facilitate the establishment and appropriate functioning of Institutional Animal Ethics Committees across Africa. The Guidelines are based on universal principles for the care and use of sentient animals for scientific purposes, with consideration of the cultural, religious, political and socio-economic diversity in Africa. They focus on 11 key elements, including responsibilities of institutions and of the Institutional Official; composition of the Committee; its responsibilities, functioning and authority; ethical application and review processes; oversight and monitoring of animal care and use and of training and competence; quality assurance; and the roles of other responsible parties. The intent is for African institutions to adopt and adapt the guidelines, aligning with existing national legislation and standards where relevant, thus ensuring incorporation into practice. More broadly, the Guidelines form an essential component of the growing discourse in Africa regarding moral considerations of, and appropriate standards for, the care and use of animals for scientific purposes. The increased establishment of appropriately functioning animal ethics committees and robust ethical review procedures across Africa will enhance research quality and culture, strengthen societal awareness of animals as sentient beings, improve animal well-being, bolster standards of animal care and use, and contribute to sustainable socio-economic development.

A scoping review protocol of the lived experiences of doing a PhD in Africa.

This scoping review aims to investigate the available literature on the lived experiences of doing a PhD in African Universities. The continent of Africa still contributes a minimal amount of research towards global research outputs. The need for increased research capacity and outputs have been identified as priority for growth and development. There is a substantial need for evidence-based solutions that can alleviate some of these complexities. For example, challenges still exist in the disease burden faced, economic poverty and lack of infrastructure in various contexts. Multiple databases will be searched, including the EBSCO Host, Scopus, EMBASE, Cumulative Index to Nursing and Allied Health Literature (CINAHL), Medline (Ovid), and Google Scholar. The scoping review will be conducted using the Arksey & O'Malley (2005)'s six-step approach in conjunction with the Joanna Briggs Institute (JBI) methodology for scoping reviews. Studies that examined the perspective of PhD (Doctor of Philosophy) candidates, supervisors from Africa, and research studies focusing on the common barriers and facilitators concerning research in Africa will be included. Studies that explore the perspectives of other postgraduate cohorts will be excluded. Ethics application will not be required but findings will be disseminated through publications, conference presentation, policy, and relevant stakeholders. This study has been registered with the Open Science Forum (OSF).

IMPLEMENTASI ETOS KERJA ISLAMI DALAM MENINGKATKAN KINERJA KARYAWAN SEMENTARA BANK SYARIAH INDONESIA TBK CABANG KETAPANG

One of the obligations of every Muslim is to work (earn a living). Because by working a Muslim can realize himself in meeting his needs in the world, because earning a living in a good way is included in the group of people who are jihad fisabilillah. Meanwhile, Bank Syariah Indonesia Tbk Ketapang Branch is a facilitator of sharia-based economic activities. One important aspect of the Islamic economy is economic actors, both owners of capital and employees. Therefore the character of workers is very influential in improving the economy. Based on this, researchers are interested in discussing the application of the Islamic work ethic in improving employee performance. This research focuses on the issues of (1.) how to implement the Islamic work ethic in improving employee performance at Bank Syariah Indonesia Tbk Ketapang Branch, West Kalimantan Province (2.) what are the supporting and inhibiting factors for implementing Islamic work ethic in improving employee performance at Bank Syariah Indonesia Tbk Ketapang Branch West Kalimantan Province. This research uses descriptive qualitative research, which is a research procedure that aims to make a systematic, actual and accurate explanation of the facts that happened at Bank Syari'ah Indonesia Tbk, Ketapang Branch. The results of this study indicate that the implementation of the Islamic work ethic at Bank Syariah Indonesia (BSI) Tbk Ketapang Branch is in accordance with the principles and characteristics of the existing Islamic work ethic, namely: having clean morality (sincere), having honesty, and having a responsible soul. answer.

Putting the auto in ethnography: The embodied process of reflexivity on positionality

This article describes an unexpected methodological shift made in response to the COVID-19 pandemic during doctoral research, and exemplifies reflexivity in action whilst negotiating my complex positionality as both a researcher and a social worker. The first UK national lockdown was announced after I had conducted 3 months of ethnographic data collection in a local authority adult social work team, thus halting my research. As society shut down, face-to-face research was paused overnight, however, the local authority continued to provide essential services and support. Forging a path forward, I successfully gained a job practising as a social worker within the team and completed a supplementary ethics application to include auto-ethnographic data which would complement the existing ethnography. Although practicing reflexivity and analysing positionality are established and encouraged parts of ethnographic research, how a researcher actively conducts them varies and usually remains unseen. Methodologies are often presented in a sanitised and polished manner, depriving the reader of the messy yet informative reality of research. This article draws upon fieldnotes to practically illustrate and bring this reflexivity on positionality to the fore. As I move from participant-observer to complete-participant, the findings zoom in on my experience of navigating positionality, revealing a micro picture of the details and subtleties of this process. This unexpected research journey enhanced my level of intimacy with the phenomenon, the research site, and the participants. Overall, this example of enacting reflexivity helps to bridge the gap between how positionality is theorised and how it actively practiced. Finally, this article is a call for more open, deeper, and continual reflexivity on our positionality as researchers.

The Application Of Islamic Business Ethics To Traditional Stall Traders In Maintaining Business Sustainability Amid The Rise Of Modern Retail In Sambas District

The subject matter of this study discusses the application of Islamic Business Ethics to traditional stall traders who are affected by the presence of modern retail. Furthermore, from the subject matter can be drawn several formulations of the problem, namely 1) whether the impact of the rise of modern retail for the sustainability of traditional stalls in the District. Sambas 2) is a traditional stall traders in the District. Sambas understands and applies Islamic Business Ethics in its business 3) How is the sustainability of traditional warung business in Kec. What is the role of Sambas in implementing Islamic Business Ethics?. The type of research is Field Research (Field Research) with descriptive qualitative methods of analysis. Location of the study was conducted in the District of Sambas Sambas regency. The research approach used includes normative theological, sociological and phenomenological approaches. With data sources that are divided into two, namely primary data sources obtained directly from traders or buyers and secondary data sources obtained from various literature relevant to the discussion of research. Data collection methods include observation, interviews and documentation for further data collected are analyzed through data reduction, data singing and then draw conclusions.
 The results of this study indicate that: 1) the presence of modern retail in the middle of traditional stalls have a negative impact on the sustainability of its business, while traditional stall traders who feel the positive impact or help from the existence of modern retail is only a little, and unevenly felt by all traditional stall traders. 2) the traditional warung traders in Sambas Sub-District have applied most of the Islamic ethics to their traditional warung business, although almost all traders feel unfamiliar or unfamiliar with the term Islamic Business Ethics and its details. 3) the application of Islamic Business Ethics to traditional stall traders in the midst of the rise of modern retail in Sambas district can maintain the sustainability of their businesses. The implication of this study is the need to provide education to traditional stall traders related to Islamic business ethics, business management, utilization of technology, as well as the provision of riba-free capital. Furthermore, it invites the public to keep shopping at traditional stalls and asks the government to determine the right zone for modern retail so as not to have a negative impact on the business of traditional stalls in the vicinity.

The National Childcare Agenda in Cambodia: A Feminist Transformative Ethics of Care Perspective

This article critically examines Cambodia’s national childcare agenda from a feminist transformative ethics of care perspective. It employs a discourse analysis for policy texts and examines, through in-depth interviews and participant observation, the perspectives and/or lived experiences of people engaged in and/or affected by the policy. The researcher conducted 104 in-depth interviews and observed three meetings/workshops in Cambodia from February to May in 2018. This paper argues that Cambodia’s national childcare agenda is far from ‘transformative’ because it neither contributes to the redistribution of childcare loads from the family to the public sphere nor enhances women’s autonomy in a way that enables them to participate in the labour market. A primary contribution of this paper is its application of a feminist transformative ethics of care to childcare policy analysis in Cambodia, in a developing country context. This transformative tool brings together different feminist thinking to enable us to investigate and evaluate childcare policy discourses, how they are interpreted by different actors, and how they shape policy practices and people’s lives.

Business communication ethics is a set of principles and guidelines that govern behavior in business communication. This study aims to explore the importance of business communication ethics and its impact on relationships with customers, employees and other stakeholders as well as organizational image. The research method used is literature study, by collecting and analyzing literature relevant to the research topic. The results of the study show that the application of business communication ethics can help build good relationships with customers, employees and other stakeholders as well as maintain a positive image for the organization

EXPLORING THE BUILDING BLOCKS OF LIFE: THE HUMAN GENOME PROJECT, ITS IMPACT IN TODAYS WORLD

The Human Genome Projects (HGP) conclusion altered a number of disciplines, including biotechnology, genetics, medicine, and forensics. Key outcomes included personalised medicine, gene therapy, and enhanced DNA profiling. The HGP increased our knowledge of hereditary illnesses and shed light on human evolution. The privacy of genetic information and the ethical application of knowledge were raised. The management and analysis of genomic data require the use of bioinformatics. The future of genetics and biology will be shaped by the HGPs substantial effects on healthcare, innovation, and the economy. In vitro fertilisation and preimplantation genetic diagnosis are two reproductive technology developments made possible by the HGP. Also, it sparked the creation of focused treatments for genetic diseases, completely altering the range of patient treatment options. These advancements have led to a new era of precision medicine and personalised healthcare, in addition to improving patient outcomes.

Optimizing the performance of domestic companies in Surabaya through the implementation of business ethics in managing companies

This study aims to determine whether business people in carrying out their work apply business ethics, and whether the application of ethics in managing this business can optimize company performance. This research is a qualitative descriptive study using interviews and survey methods with informants. The informants in this study are business people in domestic companies in Surabaya, including among others the ethical behavior of producers, ethical behavior of employees, ethical behavior of suppliers, ethical behavior of company leaders. . The data obtained from the interview results were then triangulated which included triangulation of data, sources and methods, then analyzed. The results of the study found that currently business people in domestic companies in Surabaya have implemented business ethics in their work. This can be seen from the results of interviews with business people who show almost the same answers, that is, on average, in carrying out their daily work, they have applied business ethics. Companies that implement business ethics in managing their business can optimize company performance.

Implementasi Etika Bisnis Islam dalam Transaksi Jual Beli Pedagang Busana Muslim di Kawasan Religi Sunan Ampel Surabaya

Islamic business ethics is a way or morals used in carrying out business activities that cover all aspects based on the Qur'an and hadith as well as applicable norms. Islamic business ethics includes five principles including the principle of unity, the principle of justice, the principle of free will, the principle of responsibility and the principle of truth. In carrying out business activities, a Muslim is required to always apply the principles of Islamic business ethics in accordance with Islamic law. This study aims to find out how the process of buying and selling transactions and the application or implementation of Islamic business ethics in buying and selling transactions of Muslim fashion traders in the Religious Area of Sunan Ampel Surabaya. The method used in this research is using descriptive qualitative method. Sources of data in this study using primary and secondary data sources. Data collection techniques using the method of observation, interviews and documentation. Informants in this study include several parties including market managers, Muslim clothing traders and Muslim clothing buyers in the Sunan Ampel Religious Area, Surabaya. Based on the results of the interviews and observations, the researchers formulated the results of this study, namely 1) The process of buying and selling transactions for fashion merchants includes sellers and buyers, consent and acceptance, goods purchased and replacement exchange rates. 2) The application of Islamic business ethics has been well implemented by Muslim fashion traders. But there are still traders who show impolite and unfriendly attitudes towards buyers. This can be due to traders who do not fully understand Islamic business ethics.

Artificial intelligence (A.I.) in dental curricula: Ethics and responsible integration.

The use of artificial intelligence (AI) is deeply embedded in all aspects of our daily lives, promoting efficiency and safety in routine tasks at home and work. Likewise, dentistry is rapidly exploring new uses of AI for image analysis, electronic health records, and clinical decision-making. The accelerating advancement of AI and its application in dentistry demands dental education conscientiously integrate AI into curricula and equip graduates to use it ethically and responsibly in practice. The approach must be threefold: instill knowledge of the basic algorithms and appropriate application of AI, discuss its limitations/biases, and examine current and potential ethical challenges in practice.Furthermore, dental education must protect the public from intentional and unintentional harm introduced by AI. Therefore, the purpose of this perspective paper is to discuss various considerations for integrating AI into the dental curriculum, prioritizing patient safety by ensuring knowledgeable, safe, and ethical application by future providers.

Who reviews what you do at the zoo? Considerations for research ethics with captive exotic animals

Research in zoos is an important scientific endeavor that requires several complex considerations in order to occur. Among those many considerations are the ethics involved in conducting zoo research. However, it is not always clear how zoo researchers should go about resolving any research ethics matters, even determining when some type of research ethics committee should be involved in those deliberations. Our paper attempts to provide some resolutions for these issues, namely in three sections: (1) a brief history of human and animal research ethics, (2) general guidelines for zoo research ethics applications, and (3) theoretical, ethical dilemmas at the zoo. In each section, we consider pragmatic attempts to resolve any issues, as well as provide examples to illustrate our points. The primary focus of the paper is to facilitate consideration of the wide array of ethical factors any zoo researcher might encounter, as well as provide a basic set of ethical guidelines for zoo research. We also emphasize the importance of the welfare of the animals for all zoo research projects.
