DEMOGRAPHICS OF COMMUNICATION SKILLS OF PRESCHOOL CHILDREN (4-5 YEAR OLD)

The research was carried out with the aim of identifying the impact of demographic factors on the expression of communication skills of 4-5-year-old children in Montenegro. The influence of several factors that can affect the speech development (gender, educational level of mother and father, birth order, length of stay in kindergarten and the age subgroup within the same year) has been examined. This is a transverse study. From the overall, four-part model of the Gunzberg II test, we highlighted items related to communication in the order of age 4 and 5. Items were observed in relation to development standards and in relation to the Curriculum in preschool institutions. The sample is consisted of 639 children from 17 kindergartens. The results of the research suggest that the participants of this research do not have enough developed communication skills in accordance with the standards for appropriate ages. The variables we tested as independent did not show a constant impact on the appearance of differences in some tasks. In order to improve childrenʼs communication development, it would be necessary to: a. redesign the curriculum, b. develop programs of systematic parent training; and c. reduce the number of children in one educational group.Keywords: communicative skills; curriculum; differences among children; Gunzberg II test; preschool child.

ФЛОКУЛЯЦИЯ БЕНТОНИТОВОЙ ГЛИНЫ НАНОЧАСТИЦАМИ МАГНЕТИТА И ПОВЕРХНОСТНО-АКТИВНЫМИ ВЕЩЕСТВАМИ РАЗЛИЧНОЙ ПРИРОДЫ

The effect of cationic, anionic and nonionic surfactants and magnetic nanocomposites including magnetite and analyzed surfactants on the size of floccule aggregates in a bentonite clay suspension has been studied. Magnetic nanocomposites (MN) were synthesized using the Rene Massart technique and studied by dynamic light scattering. At a concentration of 10 g/dm3, the magnetite particles had an average size of d = 50.8 nm and were negatively charged ζ = -40.6 mV, which indicates a high aggregative stability of Fe3O4 particles. The effect of the various nature surfactants concentration and magnetic nanocomposites based on them on the sedimentation stability of a bentonite clay suspension with varying pH under the influence of an external magnetic field was analyzed at the quantitative level in the mode of constrained sedimentation. The concentration region in which surfactant additives of various nature cause acceleration of sedimentation of bentonite clay has been determined. The appearance of differences in the values of flocculating activity with varying pH of the medium is due to a change in the structure of the double electric layer around bentonite clay particles. In the highly alkaline pH region (pH = 12), the value of flocculating activity with the participation of the MN-C sample at C = 75 × 10-2% is 4.25 times higher than that of the MN-A sample, which is due to the neutralization coagulation of particles due to a decrease in their surface charge and electrokinetic potential due to adsorbing CTAB cations in the MN-C. It should be noted that molecular binding is possible not only at the moment of interaction of bentonite clay particles with the formed adsorbed layer, but also during the gradual formation of the surface layer during the interaction of aggregates of macromolecules with the surface of bentonite clay particles. An increase in the compaction constant for systems involving magnetic nanocomposites was noted compared with a suspension of bentonite clay without additives. The research results presented in this paper can be applied to control the properties of multicomponent dispersed systems involving magnetic nanocomposites.

The Differences of Language Use between Males and Females in Sundanese Language in Informal Conversation

ABSTRACTOral language has an important role in human life. Oral language is used in both formal and informal communications. In fact, in everyday life humans use oral language more than writing. Oral language can take the form of lectures, stories, discussions, teaching, sermons, oral reports, conversations, and speeches. The most common oral language activity is conversation. Conversations are influenced by various factors, including: gender, age, occupation, location, content, situation, and purpose. Men and women as part of society, are used to having conversations, both with family, teachers, neighbors and friends. In reality, the languages spoken by men and women are very different. This can be seen from the way they speak. This study aims to find out how the differences in the languages used by men and women in informal Sundanese conversations on campus and find out the factors that influence the appearance of differences in the languages used by men and women in informal Sundanese conversation on campus. This research is a qualitative research. In this study, researchers took a sample of 4 students from Siliwangi University, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education who were selected using a purposive sampling technique. Based on observations and interviews, the results obtained are that in general, the differences in the language used by men and women in informal Sundanese conversations on campus are that men use more harsh and impolite words when speaking, while women are more polite and more use soft words when speaking. While the factors that influence the emergence of differences in the languages used by men and women in informal Sundanese conversations on campus include association, environment, native culture, habits, family and friends.

The paper focuses on A. Nixon's approach to understanding new atheism as a new relevant form of religiosity in society. Analysis of the dissertation study helps to understand how the author's position was formed and what is the methodology for his understanding of new atheism. Nixon defines his task when discussing the history of free thought in an attempt to contextually analyze the antireligious movement of the 21st century (new atheists and subgroups). His historical analysis of irreligia is a story that focuses on the appearance of differences between groups over time and the motives for such divergence and the appearance of groups. He links the measurements he discovered in his research to a longer history of the anti-religious movement.

The influence of phonon boundary scattering on the thermal conductivity of a two-dimensional noninteractive phonon system of nanosized structures

One of the problems that arise when studying the thermal conductivity of low-dimensional phonon systems at low temperatures is the appearance of differences in expressions for the thermal conductivity as a function of sample size, as well as the appearance of unusual dependences of heat fluxes on temperature gradients. For example, in the generally accepted Casimir – Zaiman model, it is assumed that a linear temperature gradient is created on the lateral surface by external sources. Moreover, the Casimir model requires two conditions at the border. This is a diffuse reflection in which the phonon is reflected with an isotropic angular distribution function. The second condition is the presence of redistribution of phonons by energy, so that the distribution of reflected phonons corresponds to the radiation of an absolutely black body - that is, the reflection of phonons must be inelastic. And if the first condition can be achieved, for example, by boundaries with a certain degree of roughness, the second condition can be achieved only in the presence of thermal contact between the side edges of the sample and the thermal medium at a certain temperature distribution. In the case of thermally insulated sample boundaries (for example, when the sample is in vacuum) or at least with imperfect thermal contact, the fulfillment of the second condition is practically impossible.In this paper, we consider the problem of thermal conductivity of two-dimensional nanostructures - nanobands - in the temperature range, when the interaction between phonons can be neglected. In this ballistic mode, heat fluxes can be limited only by the interaction of phonons with the sample boundaries. A number of types of interaction of phonons with the boundaries of two-dimensional samples are considered: absorption at the boundary, finite number of reflections, absorption inside the sample on defects, impurities, etc. Explicit expressions of thermal conductivity in these cases are derived. Interpolation relations are obtained, which generalize the existing expressions of thermal conductivity in the case of mirror reflection and reflection with losses.

Combined application of high-throughput sequencing and UHPLC-Q/TOF-MS-based metabolomics in the evaluation of microorganisms and metabolites of dry-cured ham of different origins

Ham fermentation relies on environmental and indigenous microorganisms forming a rich microbiome, which is pivotal to taste and flavor formation. Previous studies have focused on the appearance of differences of microorganisms and metabolites, this study aims to establish the relationship between microorganisms and metabolites over a period of two years in the fermentation of hams from Jinghua (JH2), Xuanwei (XW2), Rugao (RG2), Iberian (IB2) and Parma (PA2). We profiled bacterial communities by sequencing the V3-V4 region of the 16S rRNA genes and metabolites were analyzed using LC-Q-TOF-MS. LefSe analysis showed that different biomarkers in five ham groups. OPLS analysis showed that most differential metabolites are amino acids and were associated with four metabolic pathways. Correlation analysis implies a firm positive relationship between microorganisms and metabolites. This study provides novel insights into the taste and flavor quality of dry-cured hams of different origins due to fermentation.

Study on Thermal Unstable Vibration of Rotor under Journal Whirl with Large Amplitude in Journal Bearing

To investigate the thermal unstable vibration caused by journal whirls with large amplitude in journal bearing, an analysis model of lubricant film thickness is established. The journal surface temperature distribution is solved, and the reason for journal surface temperature difference appearance and its influence on rotor vibration are analyzed. Taking a turbogenerator as an example, the journal surface temperature difference and the induced rotor thermal bending under synchronous whirl in the bearing are calculated. Meanwhile, an engineering vibration fault with its treatment is presented. Results show that, the journal surface circumferential temperature difference is caused by viscous shearing within lubricant film under journal whirls with large amplitude in journal bearing. The direction of temperature difference is related to the direction of unbalanced force acting on journal. The temperature difference causes rotor thermal bending, which can be converted to a thermal unbalance on the rotor. The rotor vibration is caused by both thermal and initial unbalance. When the rotor is running below or at the critical speed, the vibration is on the increase until it leads to instability of the rotor eventually. When the rotor is running above the critical speed, the rotor vibration fluctuates periodically. Reducing the initial (mechanical) unbalances decreases the rotor vibration and the journal surface circumferential temperature difference.

The interaction of defects in a mayenite structure.

Calcium aluminate Ca12Al14O33 initially known as cement compound after a series of structural refinements presented a complex cubic structure. It demonstrates a surprising feature consisting of the occurrence of spherical cavities named as cages. After this, mayenite is regarded as a kind of anti-zeolite. An alternative representation of such compounds formulated as highly non-stoichiometric garnets is highlighted in the present study. Mayenite is described as non-stoichiometric garnet {Ca3-x□x}1[Ca, Al]2Al3O12-x using the Raman spectroscopy. The dependence of phase diagram Al2O3-CaO in the region near the mayenite composition on the oxygen activity is summarized regarding its structural deficiency. It is pointed that cage is the result of defects association whereas structural defects tend to interact with each other. The main consequence of such interaction is a spontaneous formation of a core-shell structure. It is evidenced by the presence of a near-surface layer of small thickness over a compact oxide. The local symmetry of the mayenite structure at room temperature in oxidized and reduced (electride) state was studied by Raman spectroscopy which revealed the presence of luminescence without the rare-earths' doping.

Chiral Imbalance in Hadron Matter: Its Manifestation in Photon Polarization Asymmetries

The possibility of the formation of a local parity breaking (LPB) in a quark-hadron medium is examined as a result of chiral symmetry violation, i.e, the appearance of difference between the average densities of right- and left-handed quarks in the fireball after heavy-ion collisions (HIC). Using the effective meson Lagrangian motivated by QCD extended to the chiral medium the properties of light scalar and pseudoscalar mesons are analyzed. It is establish that exotic decays of scalar mesons arise due to mixing of $\pi$ and $a_0$ vacuum states in the presence of chiral imbalance. The pion electromagnetic formfactor obtains a parity-odd supplement which generates a photon polarization asymmetry in pion polarizability. We conjecture that the above-mentioned properties of LPB can be revealed in experiments on LHC, RHIC, FAIR and NICA accelerators.

Imbibition, Germination, and Early Seedling Growth Responses of Light Purple and Yellow Seeds of Red Clover to Distilled Water, Sodium Chloride, and Nutrient Solution

The seeds of red clover are heteromorphic and two color morphs can be visually recognized, light purple and yellow, resulting from heterozygosity and recessive homozygosity at two loci. Here, we report the responses of seed imbibition, seed germination, and early seedling growth of the two morphs to distilled water, sodium chloride, and complete nutrient solution. The sensitivityof red clover seeds to treatments increased with the stage of development in what seems to be a cumulative process. No differences were found in seed imbibition between morphs or between treatments. In seedling growth, on the contrary, treatments were always effective, but differences between morphs were only observed in seeds that were treated with nutrient solution, whereas in the intermediate stage of seed germination, the effects by treatments were observed together with the appearance of differences between morphs in distilled water and in the treatment by sodium chloride solution. Simultaneously, the superior performance of the yellow morph that was found in germination, which appears to be a trait stable across cultivars of red clover seeds, turned into a superior performance of the light purple morph in seedling growth.

The article is devoted to the analysis of the specificity of the linguistic consciousness of different subcultures representatives on the basis of proper names (song title). The author proposes a psycholinguistic approach to the study of the proper name semantics in the light of subcultural specificity, and conducts a free associative experiment among rock musicians, fans and laymen. The experimental data make it possible to formulate the psycholinguistic meaning of the studied stimulus word and to conclude that the appearance of differences in the actualization of the images of linguistic consciousness depends on the individual’s belonging to specific subcultures.

Undressing policy: a critical analysis of North Carolina (USA) public school dress codes

ABSTRACT Student dress codes are controversial school policy in US schools. As dress codes were initially established with the intent to eliminate the appearance of differences among students and mitigate gang violence in schools, legal research has paid extensive attention to the value and constitutionality of these policies. Education research, however, is limited. What research does exist has focused largely on the benefits of policy implementation, rather than the construction of dress codes or implicit biases found in the discourse around student dress. Using feminist critical policy analysis as our guiding frameworks for analysis, we analyzed 122 student dress codes in North Carolina public schools. Our content analysis revealed these policies place especial restrictions on girl students’ dress and reinforce traditional binary notions of gender identity. Our analysis also found race is an important factor in dress code language, and so we argue for further intersectional analysis of policy writing and implementation.

The Economy Effect: Conceptual Innovation and Benefit Corporations

What kind of thing is the economy, and how might we act to change it? This article draws on the work of Timothy Mitchell and J. K. Gibson-Graham to suggest that the economy may be fruitfully understood as a structural effect, or an appearance of difference maintained through the repetition of acts and practices. It then employs Reinhart Koselleck’s theory of conceptual change to argue that the economy effect may be altered through efforts aimed at conceptual innovation. If the economy effect is maintained through repeated acts and practices that delineate the distinction between the economy and everything else, then conceptual innovation with respect to those concepts that inform these acts and practices could alter the manner in which this distinction is produced. The benefit (or public interest) corporation serves as an example of how such efforts at conceptual innovation might produce change in the structural effect that we call “the economy.”

Adipocyte cannabinoid receptor CB1 regulates energy homeostasis and alternatively activated macrophages.

Dysregulated adipocyte physiology leads to imbalanced energy storage, obesity, and associated diseases, imposing a costly burden on current health care. Cannabinoid receptor type-1 (CB1) plays a crucial role in controlling energy metabolism through central and peripheral mechanisms. In this work, adipocyte-specific inducible deletion of the CB1 gene (Ati-CB1-KO) was sufficient to protect adult mice from diet-induced obesity and associated metabolic alterations and to reverse the phenotype in already obese mice. Compared with controls, Ati-CB1-KO mice showed decreased body weight, reduced total adiposity, improved insulin sensitivity, enhanced energy expenditure, and fat depot-specific cellular remodeling toward lowered energy storage capacity and browning of white adipocytes. These changes were associated with an increase in alternatively activated macrophages concomitant with enhanced sympathetic tone in adipose tissue. Remarkably, these alterations preceded the appearance of differences in body weight, highlighting the causal relation between the loss of CB1 and the triggering of metabolic reprogramming in adipose tissues. Finally, the lean phenotype of Ati-CB1-KO mice and the increase in alternatively activated macrophages in adipose tissue were also present at thermoneutral conditions. Our data provide compelling evidence for a crosstalk among adipocytes, immune cells, and the sympathetic nervous system (SNS), wherein CB1 plays a key regulatory role.

Nanoscale Young’s modulus and surface morphology in photocurable polyacrylate/nanosilica composites

We studied quantitatively nanomechanical properties (Young’s modulus, adhesion force) and surface morphology of two types of model polymer-nanosilica composites. High-resolution structure-property maps were obtained using atomic force microscopy (AFM) in the non-resonant dynamic imaging mode (Quantitative Imaging, QI) by the collection and evaluation of a large number of force-distance curves. The Derjagin-Muller-Toropov (DMT) mechanical contact theory was applied. Interactions between the filler (Aerosil R7200) and two matrices (based on 2-hydroxyethyl acrylate and polyethylene glycol diacrylate) resulted in the appearance of differences in the interphase structure of the two types of composites. The main goal of the paper was to reveal these differences by determination of the mechanical nature of the polymer-particle interphase through systematic AFM indentations providing excellent mapping details. We focused on how the sub-microstructure of the nanocomposites is influenced by the presence of the varied filler contents. The AFM nanomechanical analysis is supported by a standard AFM imaging and SEM morphological observation as well as polymerization kinetics measurements. Our work serves to give a better understanding of the mechanical behaviour and properties of nanocomposites, particularly at the filler-matrix interphase. The article also discusses the measuring accuracy and possible method errors related to the QI mode in the AFM.

Presumed Undue Influence: The False Partition from Fiduciary Accountability

The sole function of the law of fiduciary accountability is to control the opportunism that may impair our limited access arrangements. Unfortunately the clarity of that function has faded. Some judges have misconstrued the conceptual boundaries of the regulation. The judicial treatment of what today commonly is described as the doctrine of presumed undue influence powerfully illustrates the deterioration in clarity. Over the course of the past two centuries English courts have slowly been separating the ‘doctrine’ of presumed undue influence from the law of fiduciary accountability. There was no explicit declaration of that separation. Instead, in a blinkered process, judges simply repeatedly cited certain cases to produce what appeared to be a line of authority that differed from conventional fiduciary regulation. That appearance of difference led other judges to devise novel criteria for the application of the supposed doctrine. That raised fresh concerns and accelerated the conceptual disorder.

On the evolutionary origins of differences in sexual preferences.

A novel explanation of the evolutionary process leading to the appearance of differences in sexual preferences is proposed. The explanation is fully general: it is not specific to any particular type of sexual preferences, nor to any species or population. It shows how different sexual preferences can appear in any large group-living population in which sexual selection is sufficiently strong in each sex. The main idea is that the lack of interest toward a member of the opposite sex may be interpreted as a signal of popularity, and thus of reproductive success. It is then boosted by the Fisher runaway process far beyond the point where it becomes costly, resulting in a generalized trait—lack of interest toward the opposite sex. If the interest diverts toward other targets then different sexual preferences emerge. This hypothesis is placed into the context of other works on different sexual preferences in animals; supporting evidence from the literature is reviewed and additional research needed to confirm or refute the hypothesis in any given species is outlined.
