New moment formulas for moments and characteristic function of the geometric distribution in terms of Apostol–Bernoulli polynomials and numbers

Although it is very easy to calculate the 1st moment and 2nd moment values of the geometric distribution with the methods available in existing books and other articles, it is quite difficult to calculate moment values larger than the 3rd order. Because in order to find these moment values, many higher order derivatives of the geometric series and convergence properties of the series are needed. The aim of this article is to find new formulas for characteristic function of the geometric random variable (with parameter p) in terms of the Apostol–Bernoulli polynomials and numbers, and the Stirling numbers. This characteristic function characterizes the geometric distribution. Using the Euler's identity, we give relations among this characteristic function, the Apostol–Bernoulli polynomials and numbers, and also trigonometric functions including and . A relations between the characteristic function and the moment generating function is also given. By using these relations, we derive new moments formulas in terms of the Apostol–Bernoulli polynomials and numbers. Moreover, we give some applications of our new formulas.

On Apostol-Type Hermite Degenerated Polynomials

This article presents a generalization of new classes of degenerated Apostol–Bernoulli, Apostol–Euler, and Apostol–Genocchi Hermite polynomials of level m. We establish some algebraic and differential properties for generalizations of new classes of degenerated Apostol–Bernoulli polynomials. These results are shown using generating function methods for Apostol–Euler and Apostol–Genocchi Hermite polynomials of level m.

Degenerate Fubini-Type Polynomials and Numbers, Degenerate Apostol–Bernoulli Polynomials and Numbers, and Degenerate Apostol–Euler Polynomials and Numbers

In this paper, by introducing degenerate Fubini-type polynomials, with the help of the Faà di Bruno formula and some properties of partial Bell polynomials, the authors provide several new explicit formulas and recurrence relations for Fubini-type polynomials and numbers, associate the newly defined degenerate Fubini-type polynomials with degenerate Apostol–Bernoulli polynomials and degenerate Apostol–Euler polynomials of order α. These results enable one to present additional relations for some degenerate special polynomials and numbers.

Unified Bernoulli-Euler polynomials of Apostol type

The object of this paper is to introduce and study the properties of unified Apostol-Bernoulli and Apostol-Euler polynomials noted by \(\left\{ \mathfrak {V_{n}}(x;\lambda ;\mu )\right\} _{n \ge 0}\). We study some arithmetic properties of \(\left\{ \mathfrak {V_{n}}(x;\lambda ;\mu )\right\} _{n \ge 0}\) as their connection to Apostol-Euler polynomials and Apostol-Bernoulli polynomials. Also, we give derivation and integration representations of \(\left\{ \mathfrak {V_{n}}(x;\lambda ;\mu )\right\} _{n \ge 0}\). Finally, we use the umbral calculus approach to deduce symmetric identities.

Asymptotic behavior of the Hurwitz–Lerch multiple zeta functions at non-positive integer points

We give a result on the asymptotic behavior of the Hurwitz–Lerch multiple zeta functions near non-positive integer points by using the Apostol–Bernoulli polynomials. From this result, we can evaluate limit values at non-positive integer points.

Formulas for special numbers and polynomials derived from functional equations of their generating functions

The main purpose of this paper is to investigate various formulas, identities and relations involving Apostol type numbers and parametric type polynomials. By using generating functions and their functional equations, we give many relations among the certain family of combinatorial numbers, the Vieta polynomials, the two-parametric types of the Apostol-Euler polynomials, the Apostol-Bernoulli polynomials, the Apostol-Genocchi polynomials, the Fibonacci and Lucas numbers, the Chebyshev polynomials, and other special numbers and polynomials. Moreover, we give some formulas related to trigonometric functions, special numbers and special polynomials. Finally, some remarks and observations on the results of this paper are given.

Symmetric identity for polynomial sequences satisfying A′ n +1(x) = (n + 1)An (x)

Abstract Using umbral calculus, we establish a symmetric identity for any sequence of polynomials satisfying A′ n +1(x) = (n + 1)An (x) with A 0(x) a constant polynomial. This identity allows us to obtain in a simple way some known relations involving Apostol-Bernoulli polynomials, Apostol--Euler polynomials and generalized Bernoulli polynomials attached to a primitive Dirichlet character.

On the perturbative expansion of exact bi-local correlators in JT gravity

We study the perturbative series associated to bi-local correlators in Jackiw-Teitelboim (JT) gravity, for positive weight λ of the matter CFT operators. Starting from the known exact expression, derived by CFT and gauge theoretical methods, we reproduce the Schwarzian semiclassical expansion beyond leading order. The computation is done for arbitrary temperature and finite boundary distances, in the case of disk and trumpet topologies. A formula presenting the perturbative result (for λ ∈ ℕ/2) at any given order in terms of generalized Apostol-Bernoulli polynomials is also obtained. The limit of zero temperature is then considered, obtaining a compact expression that allows to discuss the asymptotic behaviour of the perturbative series. Finally we highlight the possibility to express the exact result as particular combinations of Mordell integrals.

A New Family of Zeta Type Functions Involving the Hurwitz Zeta Function and the Alternating Hurwitz Zeta Function

In this paper, we further study the generating function involving a variety of special numbers and ploynomials constructed by the second author. Applying the Mellin transformation to this generating function, we define a new class of zeta type functions, which is related to the interpolation functions of the Apostol–Bernoulli polynomials, the Bernoulli polynomials, and the Euler polynomials. This new class of zeta type functions is related to the Hurwitz zeta function, the alternating Hurwitz zeta function, and the Lerch zeta function. Furthermore, by using these functions, we derive some identities and combinatorial sums involving the Bernoulli numbers and polynomials and the Euler numbers and polynomials.

A New Class of Symmetric Beta Type Distributions Constructed by Means of Symmetric Bernstein Type Basis Functions

The main aim of this paper is to define and investigate a new class of symmetric beta type distributions with the help of the symmetric Bernstein-type basis functions. We give symmetry property of these distributions and the Bernstein-type basis functions. Using the Bernstein-type basis functions and binomial series, we give some series and integral representations including moment generating function for these distributions. Using generating functions and their functional equations, we also give many new identities related to the moments, the polygamma function, the digamma function, the harmonic numbers, the Stirling numbers, generalized harmonic numbers, the Lah numbers, the Bernstein-type basis functions, the array polynomials, and the Apostol–Bernoulli polynomials. Moreover, some numerical values of the expected values for the logarithm of random variable are given.

A construction of p-adic Hurwitz–Lerch L-function

We derive the existence of p-adic Hurwitz–Lerch L-function by means of a method provided by Washington. This function is a generalization of the one-variable p-adic L-function of Kubota and Leopoldt, and two-variable p-adic L-function of Fox. We also deduce divisibility properties of generalized Apostol–Bernoulli polynomials, in particular establish Kummer-type congruences for them.

The multi-variable unified family of generalized Apostol-type polynomials

The aim of this paper is to investigate and give a new family of multi-variable Apostol-type polynomials. This family is related to Apostol-Euler, Apostol-Bernoulli, Apostol-Genocchi and Apostol-laguerre polynomials. Moreover, we derive some implicit summation formulae and general symmetry identities. The new family of polynomials introduced here, gives many interesting special cases.

Some remarks on the generalized Apostol-Bernoulli and Apostol-Euler polynomials

In this paper, we give explicit expressions for generalized Apostol-Bernoulli and Apostol-Euler polynomials. As consequences, we deduce some explicit representations for other Apostol-type polynomials. Moreover, we find an algorithm based on a three-term recurrence for the calculation of generalized Apostol-Euler numbers and polynomials. As an application, we derive a formula for the values of some kinds of Hurwitz-Lerch Zeta functions at negative arguments.

A note on Appell sequences, Mellin transforms and Fourier series

A large class of Appell polynomial sequences {pn(x)}n=0∞ are special values at the negative integers of an entire function F(s,x), given by the Mellin transform of the generating function for the sequence. For the Bernoulli and Apostol-Bernoulli polynomials, these are basically the Hurwitz zeta function and the Lerch transcendent. Each of these have well-known Fourier series which are proved in the literature using various techniques. Here we find the latter Fourier series by directly calculating the coefficients in a straightforward manner. We then show that, within the context of Appell sequences, these are the only cases for which the polynomials have uniformly convergent Fourier series. In the more general context of Sheffer sequences, we find that there are other polynomials with uniformly convergent Fourier series. Finally, applying the same ideas to the Fourier transform, considered as the continuous analog of the Fourier series, the Hermite polynomials play a role analogous to that of the Bernoulli polynomials.

A note on polynomial expressions for sums of power of integers multiplied by exponential terms

The possible polynomial expressions for sums of powers of integers multiplied by an exponential term are investigated. We explicitly give factorization of these polynomials in terms of the roots of Apostol-Bernoulli polynomials. As a special case, alternating sums of powers of integers are also considered, and some new polynomial expressions are given.

Higher-Order Convolutions for Apostol-Bernoulli, Apostol-Euler and Apostol-Genocchi Polynomials

In this paper, we present a systematic and unified investigation for the Apostol-Bernoulli polynomials, the Apostol-Euler polynomials and the Apostol-Genocchi polynomials. By applying the generating-function methods and summation-transform techniques, we establish some higher-order convolutions for the Apostol-Bernoulli polynomials, the Apostol-Euler polynomials and the Apostol-Genocchi polynomials. Some results presented here are the corresponding extensions of several known formulas.

Explicit relations for the modified degenerate Apostol-type polynomials

Recently, the degenerate Bernoulli numbers and polynomials and the degenerate Euler numbers and polynomials have been studied by several authors. In this paper, we consider the modified Apostol-Bernoulli polynomials and the modified Apostol-Euler polynomials. We give explicit relation for the modified degenerate Bernoulli polynomials and the modified degenerate Euler polynomials. Also, we prove some identities between the modified Apostol-Bernoulli polynomials and the degenerate Stirling numbers of two kinds.

A note on the second kind q-Apostol Bernoulli numbers, polynomials, and Zeta function

In this paper we consider a new type of the \(q\)-Apostol Bernoulli numbers and polynomials. Firstly, we define the \(q\)-Apostol Bernoulli numbers and polynomials by making use of their generating function. Also, we observe many properties, i.e., the recurrence formula, the difference equation, the differential relation.

Special Numbers and Polynomials Including Their Generating Functions in Umbral Analysis Methods

In this paper, by applying umbral calculus methods to generating functions for the combinatorial numbers and the Apostol type polynomials and numbers of order k, we derive some identities and relations including the combinatorial numbers, the Apostol-Bernoulli polynomials and numbers of order k and the Apostol-Euler polynomials and numbers of order k. Moreover, by using p-adic integral technique, we also derive some combinatorial sums including the Bernoulli numbers, the Euler numbers, the Apostol-Euler numbers and the numbers y 1 n , k ; λ . Finally, we make some remarks and observations regarding these identities and relations.
