In this study the densities (ρ), speeds of sound (u) and viscosities (η) of L-histidine and L-serine in water and in aqueous levofloxacin solutions at different concentrations and over a wide range of temperature T = (293.15–313.15) K have been measured. The experimental data is used to calculate the apparent molar volume (Vϕ), apparent molar isentropic compression (Kϕ,s), limiting apparent molar volume (Voϕ) and limiting apparent molar isentropic compression (K°ϕ,s) for the studied amino acid. The limiting apparent molar expansivity (E°ϕ) of solute and Helpers constant are also evaluated. The transfer parameters like transfer volumes (ΔtrV°ϕ) and transfer compressibility (ΔtrK°ϕ,S) are also evaluated. The viscosity data has been used to evaluate the viscosity B coefficients. Also the free energy parameters like change in free energy of the solute and solvent has been evaluated. The above mentioned results are interpreted in terms of solute–solute / solute–solvent interaction and structure making / breaking characteristics of solute in the aqueous antibiotics solution.
