Are the Final Semester Examination Questions for Basic Science Concepts Made by Lecturers Have the Quality According to the Rasch Model?

Analysis of Final semester examination items in the Basic Science Concepts course using the Rasch model has not been widely carried out, even though analyzing subject matter test items is a reflection of education and a noble task that can be carried out by educators in order to perfect and improve the quality of the tests they make themselves. The Rasch model is chosen so that the quality of the items does not depend on the test taker's ability to respond to answers. This study aims to describe the quality of the items from the Final Semester Examination on Basic Science Concepts course using the Rasch model. In this research used descriptive method. Data were collected through a documented study of 10 multiple choice questions in the form of answer sheets from 42 (6 male; 36 female) students of Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Teacher Education (PGMI) at a state university in Ambon. The Rasch model with the help of the Winstep software program is used in analyzing the items. The results showed that a number of items according to the Rasch model with test reliability were in the high category. Existing results can be used by lecturers as diagnostic material for achieving student knowledge competence and improving lectures.

Four Tier-Relativity Diagnostic Test (4T-RDT) to Identify Student Misconception

Misconceptions in physics lessons are still the main problem faced by teachers and students. Misconceptions of physics occur at various levels of education and many physics materials at the high school level. The results of observation to class XII students in Semarang obtained data that the material on the theory of relativity is material with a low level of mastery of concepts. In addition, teachers also have difficulty in identifying physical misconceptions experienced by students. Therefore, this study aims to develop an instrument in the form of a Four-Tier Diagnostics Test to identify students' physics misconceptions on the material of relativity theory, determine the level of validity, reliability, and characteristics of the four-tier diagnostics test. The type of research is Research and Development (R&D). The methods used are documentation, interviews, questionnaires and tests. The results showed that the instruments were valid and reliable. The diagnostic test consists of four levels, namely: a question with one answer key and four distractor, the degree of confidence of the answer, the reason, and the level of confidence of the reason. The resulting instrument consists of a grid, work instructions, test questions, answer keys, answer sheets, scoring guidelines, and result interpretation guidelines. Validity testing by expert validators shows the developed instrument is valid and reliable.

Creative Thinking Dispositions of Truth-Seeking Students in Solving Higher-Order Thinking Skills Questions

This study intended to investigate the creative thinking dispositions of students who can perform truth-seeking in solving mathematical problems. Truth-seeking behavior tends to show students' thinking disposition when they need to solve math problems. This behavior is very much needed by students in solving math problems, especially HOTS-type questions. This study is qualitative and employs a phenomenological approach. Three students from the Integrated Islamic Junior High School in Manokwari who sought the truth served as research subjects. Their answers on the answer sheets encouraged the determination of the subjects’ tendencies in truth-seeking and creative thinking. The results of thought-based and task-based interviews were then incorporated into the analysis to determine the creative thinking dispositions of truth-seeking students and the relationship between truth-seeking and creative thinking dispositions. The findings of this study indicate that all research subjects have diverse creative thinking dispositions; the more truth-seeker indicators that are met, the more creative thinking dispositions they possess. When solving mathematical problems, students tend to show how they think by how hard they try to find the truth. This result implies that it needs more research on the level of creative thinking disposition and how to increase students' true search.

The Interference of Pre-Processing Software for the Numerical Simulation of Groundwater on the Cognition of Environmental Students: Model Mesh Construction as an Example.

(1) Background: Software for the numerical simulation of groundwater plays an important role in studying environmental problems. However, it is still unclear whether the pre-processing software of the numerical simulation of groundwater has a negative effect on the cognition of undergraduates in the environmental field who only have basic groundwater flow and solute transport knowledge and software operation skills. (2) Methods: To explore this issue, we used software meshing as an example and selected undergraduates in the environmental field to conduct the questionnaire surveys. A total of 345 undergraduate answer sheets were received, and data analysis was carried out. The students were divided into two groups, one with and another without certain basic groundwater flow and solute transport knowledge or software operation skills. (3) Results: For undergraduate students with some basic knowledge or software operation ability, the proportion of students whose cognition was adversely interfered with by the pre-processing software was 64.3%, and the ratio of students not interfered with was 35.7%. For undergraduates without groundwater flow and solute transport knowledge and relevant software operation skills, the ratios were 63.2% and 36.8%, respectively. (4) Conclusions: Pre-processing software numerical simulation of groundwater could negatively interfere with students' cognition. The basic groundwater flow and solute transport knowledge and software operation skills did not observably reduce the interference degree (p = 0.259) but had significant influences on the undergraduates' thinking modes on the numerical simulation problems (p = 0.009). The interference was mainly caused by the significant difference between the level of knowledge possessed by the students and that represented by the pre-processing software. This paper provides basic scientific data for the optimization of students' knowledge structures and the improvement of teaching methods.

ANALISIS PROSES BERPIKIR KRITIS SISWA DALAM PEMECAHAN MASALAH MATEMATIKA PADA POKOK BAHASAN POLA DAN BARISAN BILANGAN

This study aims to analyze how students’ critical thingking processes in solving mathematical problems on the subject of patterms and sequences of numbers of students at SMP N 3 Fatuleu Tengah Satap. This study used a qualitative descriptive approach. Class VIII at SMP N 3 Fatuleu Tengah Satap, in solving patern and number sequence material questions the instrument provided in this study were 1) Critical Thingking test sheets, 2) Interviews, 3) Documentation. Documentation data analysis in this study,namely, 1) Data reducation, 2) presentation of data, 3) drawing conclusion/verivication based on data analysis, it can be concluded that 3 students with high mathematical abilities can go thourgh 4indicators and stages of the critical thingking process consisting of clarification (understand the problem), analysis (analysis the problem). Completion strategies (solving problems), and inference (making conclusions) on medium mathematical abilities students only go through the clarification and analysis stages but do not fulfill the strategy and inference stages and students with low mathematical abilities, namely students who interprect critical thingking on the answer sheet but are incomplete in answering.

Developing a Suite of Resources to Improve Patient Adherence to Compression Stockings: Application of Behavior Change Theory.

Poor patient adherence to compression stockings remains a difficult and pervasive problem for clinicians, with costly repercussions for patients and health-care systems. The purpose of this paper was to describe the application of behavior change theory to the systematic development of a suite of resources, aimed at improving patient adherence to wearing compression stockings. Employing a non-empirical approach, behavior-change theory was used to develop an innovative intervention as part of a multi-phase project. Target behaviors, barriers and potential enablers were identified in relation to stocking adherence. An impact-likelihood matrix for behavior prioritization was used to identify possible areas for intervention within occupational therapy outpatient clinics. Selection of suitable resources and their consequent development were based on a narrative and problem-solving process by a panel of clinical experts. Of 14 potential domains embedded in the Theoretical Domains Framework, the key target behaviors and barriers were associated with eight domains. Michie's Behavior Change Wheel revealed recommendations in six subdivisions and of these, four intervention functions were selected by the panel, based on their potential impact and likelihood of adoption in clinical practice. Findings led to the development of a suite of resources comprising a new questionnaire, a clinical decision tree, augmented by clinical answer sheets corresponding to each of the barriers. Application of behavior change theory informed the design of a behavior change intervention comprising an integrated suite of resources for novice and experienced clinicians. These novel resources have potential to improve patient adherence to compression stockings and consequently generate health-care savings through reduced need for wound care products, and medical interventions with translation to other settings and conditions requiring compression stockings. Patient outcomes will likely be improved with reduced pain, improved quality of life and earlier resumption of usual occupations.

The role of destination image and factors affecting the decision to choose Phu Quoc for travel

This study aims to investigate the impact of factors such as motivation, information, and infrastructure on destination image, as well as the impact of destination image and price on the decision to choose Phu Quoc as destination. The research is based on the theory of planned behavior (TPB) as the background theory, and the scales in the questionnaire were developed based on previous research. More than 500 valid answer sheets were collected from internet and social network, the data collected from which was then analyzed by PLS-SEM software. The results show that the motivation, infrastructure of Phu Quoc, and information about Phu Quoc all have an impact on the destination image. The tour price and attitude towards Phu Quoc both have positive impact on the decision to go to Phu Quoc, and the destination image of Phu Quoc has a significant impact on the attitude towards Phu Quoc. The indirect relationships in the research model also have statistical significance. The research results help local managers and travel companies to understand the role of the destination image and the effects of price on tourists’ decision, thereby developing relevant programs to promote Phu Quoc withindomestic tourism.

This study aims to determine students' communication skills. The research method used is qualitative. Qualitative research method is a research that is used to examine natural objects where the researcher is the key instrument. Data was collected through observation and analysis of student answer sheets. The results of this study were that students' communication skills were still low on triangles and quadrilaterals. This can be seen in the results of student answer sheets, teachers need to improve student abilities again. The purpose of this study is to provide long-term and strategic structural changes to institutionalize sexual evaluation by identifying the relationship between dating violence motivation and gender sensitivity for sports majors, which are defined as a field of education that comprehensively changes human behavior through physical activity.BR In order to secure basic data, it was set as a sample group for sports majors with dating experience. A survey was conducted. A total of 400 people were sampled and 398 were collected, and 344 questionnaire data were analyzed, excluding 56 copies of the answer sheet that gave insincere answers. BR The collected data used the statistical program SPSS 23.0 Version, and multiple regression analysis was conducted to investigate the motive for date violence and the gender sensitivity of sports majors. The specific research results derived through this research process are as follows.BR The results of the relationship between personality identity, a sub-factor of gender sensitivity of sports majors, do not have a statistical effect on the motivation for date violence. The Exploratory and Confirmatory Factorial Structure of Test-Wiseness Scale: A Field Study on a Sample of Students in Hama University

The current research aims to recognize the exploratory and confirmatory factorial structure of the test-wiseness scale on a sample of Hama University students, using the descriptive method. Thus, the sample consists of (472) male and female students from the faculties of the University of Hama. Besides, Abu Hashem’s 50 item test-wiseness scale (2008) has been used. The validity and reliability of the items of the scale have also been verified, and six items have been deleted accordingly. The results of the exploratory factor analysis of the first degree have shown the presence of the following five acceptable factors: (exam preparation, test time management, question paper handling, answer sheet handling, and revision). Moreover, (63.391%) of the overall variance has been explained. By conducting the second degree of the factorial analysis of the five factors, it has been shown that there is one main factor that is acceptable. Its eigenvalues are (2.821). In addition, (56.429%) of the overall variation has been illustrated and identified as a factor (test-wiseness). The results of the confirmatory factor analysis have also revealed that there is a congruence between the supposed model and the realistic model, and that the 44 item test-wiseness scale in its modified Syrian form is characterized by its high indicators of validity (content validity, structural validity, discriminative validity) and reliability (split half, internal consistency using Cronbach's alpha coefficient).

Analisis Miskonsepsi Pada Materi Suhu dan Kalor Menggunakan Metode CRI

This study aims to analyze the misconceptions that occur in the material of temperature and heat, high school students in class XI IPA1. The research design used survey research with sampling using simple random sampling. The research data were obtained through a multiple-choice test of concept questions with a response index certainty answer sheet (CRI, and open interviews with 3 students. The sample was collected again by 20 students of SMAN 2 OKU. The findings of this study are, the misconceptions contained in each temperature sub-concept and heat. The highest percentage of misconceptions is found in the increase sub-concept by 53.3% with the medium misconception category, and the lowest is in the heat transfer sub-concept by 20% with the low misconception category. It has been found that the causes of misconceptions, among others, students rarely get teaching about the concept, wrong prior knowledge, counting and memorizing, and teachers who teach also facilitate students to think analytically Teachers are expected to be able to change the process of learning activities into a meaningful process for students through varied methods and models, one way is by using student centered conceptual text learning.

A RASCH ANALYSIS ON STUDENTS’ ABILITY IN STRUCTURE AND WRITTEN EXPRESSION SECTION OF TOEFL TEST

TOEFL test has been used in the universities for many purposes, for instance, since 2021, Sharia Faculty has implemented this rule for graduation requirements. Therefore, Sharia International Center (SIC) has initiated TOEFL Training Batch 1 to analyse the students’ English ability since the students have never been exposed to the TOEFL test before. This research was carried out to analyze the students’ English proficiency and difficulty to answer questions in the Structure and Written Expression part of the TOEFL test so that the they will get an insight about what should they emphasize to improve their score. Approximately 24 students’ answer sheets were collected and analysed using Winstep from Rasch Measurement Model. They answered 40 questions of the section. The findings of the study showed that many of the students (more than 50%) have low level of structure and written expression skills. Meaning that they have difficulties in answering some questions in this section. The results also reported that they still have difficulty to answer questions related to complex sentences and parallelism in a sentence. All these findings can be a valuable information for both students and English lecturers. Lecturers can help the students improve their English ability or TOEFL score by analysing types of question they cannot answer and then design the classroom teaching and learning focusing more on this aspect.

“TEACHING IN CORNERS” AS AN INNOVATIVE TECHNOLOGY OF TEACHING RUSSIAN AS A FOREIGN LANGUAGE IN A VIETNAM UNIVERSITY

The article analyses the application of “teaching in corners” technology in teaching Russian as a foreign language in Ho Chi Minh city University of Pedagogy for Intermediate students taking the topic “Holiday” as an example. The specific stages of preparing for classes and teaching with the help of this technology are studied. A differentiated approach to teaching students is realized with the help of this technology in the Vietnamese higher education. The purpose of this article is to emphasize the results of the experimental work of implementing the technology for the second-year students with A2 level. The article summarises the research of Vietnamese teachers of various subjects and the author’s personal experience. When implementing this technology, the students not only mastered the theoretical knowledge in their specialty, but also activated their basic competencies, which are necessary for students of the 21st century. The corner is a certain place in the classroom, where there are worksheets with instructions and tasks for the topics. The teacher divides the class place into separate corners, considering the abilities and interests of individual students in several types of speech activities, such as listening, speaking, reading, and writing, based on grammar, vocabulary, and phonetics. During the lesson students join in many zones on tasks and at the end of each stage they can compare their results with the answer sheets and then discuss them with others. Besides, at the last stage, students make a presentation about their work in front of the audience. This increases the motivation of students for the choice and study of the prepared and suggested materials. Moreover, the teacher plays various roles in the teaching process. Before entering the classroom, the teacher selects the materials, which meet the needs, interests, and levels of students, then makes the duty tasks in each zone according to the learning goals. During the class time the teacher takes the role of an observer or a moderator. Therefore, there is more time to help weak students, answer questions at each stage of the study.

PENGARUH PELATIHAN ONLINE TERHADAP KINERJA KARYAWAN PADA PT. TUNASKARYA INDOSWASTA

Human Resources is an important property by a company. Having a high performance, attitude and motivation from human resources will support the main goals of the company. Achieving the company's main goals will enable the company to survive amid the high minimum wages in Indonesia, especially at PT. Tunaskarya Indoswasta. The main objective of this research is to find out that online training has a significant effect on the performance of employees at PT. Tunaskarya Indoswasta even partially or simultaneously. The population in this study were all employees of the production section of PT. Tunaskarya Indoswasta, amounting to 147 people, from this population the researcher will choose a sample that is used as a respondent in this study. Then the researchers used a simple random sample in this study. By using the Slovin formula, the researcher obtained a sample of 108 people. The data collection method uses an answer sheet. Data analysis used simple linear regression with the help of SPSS software. The results showed that online training had an effect on employee performance while the percentage of the coefficient of determination (R2) was 25.30%. This means that performance is influenced by online training 25.30%, while others are influenced by other variables disclosed.

The Analysis on the Use of Past Tense Found in the Students' Recount Writing

Errors are common problems faced by foreign language learners during the learning process. The errors are affected by the mother tongue and other conditions. In this case, the problems occurred at the English department students at STKIP PGRI Pacitan. Therefore, the solution should be found by the lecturers by employing qualitative research-type error analysis to reveal the problems. The procedures of this research were: 1) preparation (formulating the research problem; 2) formulating the title, extensive literature survey, and preparing the research design; 3) determining sample design; 4) collecting the data, execution of the project); 5) processing (analysis of data, conclusion), report writing. Moreover, there were 40 students as the subject of this research. To get the data, the researcher took the answer sheets of essay writing of recount text to be analyzed qualitatively. In conformity with the findings, errors based on the use of past form are as the following: past simple 422 errors or 96%, past perfect 13 errors or 2,98%, past continues 1 error or 1% and past perfect continues 0 or 0%. It means that the frequent error made by the students was in using simple past tense and the absence of errors in using past perfect, past continuous, and past perfect continuous. Henceforth, the lecturers should provide more appropriate approaches and methods to solve the problematic errors.

ANALYSIS ANALYSIS OF THE ITEMS IN THE SCIENCE SEMESTER EXAM AT SMP NEGERI 30 SOLOK SELATAN ACADEMIC YEAR 2019/2020

The Class VII Science Odd Semester Exam Questions at SMP Negeri 30 Solok Selatan for the 2019/2020 academic year are not analyzed qualitatively and quantitatively and do not have standardized questions. Standardized questions are questions that have been tried several times, have a coefficient of validity, reliability, level of difficulty, distinguishing power, and other information deemed necessary. Therefore, the researcher felt the need to analyze the items. This study aims to determine the quality of the items qualitatively and quantitatively (reliability, validity, distinguishing power, difficulty level, and distractor quality).This research is descriptive research. The research population consisted of all the answer sheets for the Class VII IPA odd semester examination at SMP Negeri 30 Solok Selatan for the academic year 2019/2020, totaling 26 students. The sampling technique used total sampling technique. The research instrument used a question construction quality questionnaire. Data collection techniques with document study. The quantitative results were analyzed using the ANATES program.Based on the research results, it was found that: 1) The construct validity of the questions did not yet fulfill all aspects, both in terms of science content, construction, and language; 2) The validity of the questions was low, dominated by invalid questions; 3) Reliability category is sufficient; 4) Poor differentiation; 5) Medium level of difficulty; 6) Distractor quality is good and functioning. Thus, the questions have not met the criteria for good and standardized questions, so they need to be revised.

Diagnostic Tests Based on Three Level Tests on Fixed Materials for Students with Misconceptions

Misconception is something that can hinder the acceptance of new material and affect success in solving math problems. This study aims to develop a Three-Tier diagnostic test to identify misconceptions. The development of this test aims to identify the types of errors in the set and describe the quality of this diagnostic test. The research conducted was the plomp development model research, which is a model widely used for the development of educational products such as teaching materials, media, or learning approaches. The population in this study were students of mathematics education. Data analysis performed included validity, reliability, level of difficulty, discriminating power, questionnaire analysis, interpretation of three-level multiple-choice diagnostic test results, and profile analysis of students' understanding of students. The results of this study obtained a diagnostic test that can find out conceptual errors in students who have been tested for validity and declared valid. So that it can be concluded that the diagnostic test instrument for the set material in this study includes; diagnostic test grids, diagnostic test questions, answer key sheets and diagnostic test rubrics, diagnostic test answer sheets, diagnostic test kit validation sheets, diagnostic test sheets have been generated.

IMPROVING STUDENTS’ DICTATION ABILITY USING ANIMATED SHORT MOVIE THE FANCY GENTLEMEN AS A MEDIA OF LEARNING

The purpose of this research to find out the effectiveness of using the movie as a media of learning to improve students listening skills especially in Dictation. The researcher uses Pre – Experimental Research and the sample of the study is the 9th grade students in SMP Anugrah Tondano and the total number of the sample are 20 students. The instrument of this study is an answer sheet consist of 20 numbers that students have to fill with word. The data were calculated by the result of students’ Pretest are 41 and Posttest are 77. The students gained scores from Pretest to Posttest are 36. The result of this research showed that using a movie as a media of learning to improve students listening skills especially in dictation is effective.

Interrogating the Quality of Junior High School Final Exam Made by EFL Teacher Using ITEMAN 4.3 Program

The ministry of Education Department, since the removal of USBN, mandates every school to conduct a school final exam that should made by the teachers. In this study, the writer focuses on the English Junior High School Final Exam made by EFL teacher distributed in Mojokerto academic year 2021/2022. In order to know the quality of the item test, the analysis can be done by investigating the validity, reliability, item difficulty, item discrimination, and item distractors. This study used descriptive quantitative. The respondents of this study were taken from English school final exam of 9th-grade students in MTS Bahrul Ulum which consists of 50 multiple choice items from 31 students. The instrument are the test question, the students’ answer sheet, and the answer key. It will be analyzed by using ITEMAN 4.3 program as an effective solution for item test analysis. The result indicates that the content validity still do not cover the whole material in the syllabus. The reliability of the test is 0.91 which is categorized as reliable. The difficulty level of the item test is 0.60 or 60% which is considered good. The item discrimination is 0.38 considered as satisfactory. The effective item distractors is 48%, smaller than the percentage of ineffective items. In conclusion, the quality of English Junior High School Final Exam made by EFL teacher distributed in Mojokerto academic year 2021/2022 in terms of validity, reliability, item difficulty, item discrimination, and item distractors absolutely needs improving.

ANALISIS BUTIR SOAL MATERI GEOMETRI KELAS V SD

This research is a descriptive research that aims to determine the quality of the items in the mathematics subject subject Geometry students at SDN 012 Tambak. The subjects in this study were practice questions in class V mathematics. The data from this research were obtained by collecting data in the form of daily math practice questions and answer sheets for class V students. The data analysis technique was quantitative descriptive data analysis. Based on the results of data analysis, in terms of content validity it is a valid item because it has rcount greater than rtabel at a significant level of 5%, in terms of overall reliability it is reliable with a distribution of 4 items of moderate reliability and 1 item of high reliability, in terms of difficulty level has a disproportionate distribution of difficulty level comparisons because there are more easy questions than moderate questions and there are no difficult items so that they are not in accordance with the comparison between easy-medium-difficult questions, and in terms of discriminating power most of them have discriminating power very good item.
