In House Training (IHT): Upaya Meningkatkan Kompetensi Guru dalam Memanfaatkan Media Digital Canva

This research aims to improve teacher competency in learning through In House Training (IHT) in the use of Canva media. This research method uses a pre-experimental design type of one-group pre-test post-test design. The research was conducted at Syekh Tubagus Abdullah Elementary School, Purbaratu District, Tasikmalaya City. The research was conducted at the beginning of the even semester 2021/2022, in January-June 2022. The population in this research was all teachers at Syekh Tubagus Abdullah Elementary School, Purbaratu District, totaling 10 people. The results of the research show that based on the data obtained, in phase I as many as 9 teachers at Syekh Tubagus Abdullah Elementary School were able to master the material for making Canva learning videos well. Only one teacher scored below average. Based on the results of phase 1, it is necessary to carry out phase II IHT activities again. Meanwhile, in phase II, the results of the implementation of In House Training were based on instruments that had been filled in by 10 respondents or participants (Teachers) and had achieved an average score of 100, this means that most of the indicators based on previous provisions could be achieved very well. Based on existing data, the conclusion is that IHT activities have succeeded in increasing teacher competence in utilizing animated videos in learning activities.

Improving Student Achievement in Qur’an Hadith Lessons Through Animated Videos

Background. The development of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) in the world of education is increasing. Teachers are required to be more creative and innovative in choosing suitable media when delivering learning materials, one of which is animated videos. Animated videos are audiovisual media that can attract students’ attention and present objects in detail, making it easier for students to understand the learning material. Purpose. The purpose of this research is to improve student achievement in Qur’an Hadith lessons through animated videos. Another goal is to increase students’ motivation so that they do not feel bored or disinterested during the learning process. Method. The research method used is a quantitative approach with a survey model. Results. The research method used is a quantitative approach with a survey model. Conclusion. The limitation of this study is that the researcher only used animated videos for teaching Qur’an Hadith. The researcher hopes that future studies can conduct similar research with different subjects.

Development and Evaluation of 4 Short, Animated Videos for Women in Midlife Promoting Positive Health Behaviors: Survey Study

Background Health and health behaviors in midlife are important determinants of healthy aging. There is evidence of unmet needs for health-promoting information for women from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds and women with low literacy. Objective This study aimed to (1) develop accessible short, animated videos viewable and downloadable from YouTube aimed at promoting positive health behaviors in women in midlife and (2) evaluate their accessibility, acceptability, understanding, and usability and whether this was influenced by the level of education or socioeconomic disadvantage. Methods In collaboration with a video production company, a multidisciplinary team of academics and health professionals developed 2 short, animated videos on self-management of menopause health and 2 promoting joint health. Their accessibility, acceptability, understanding, and usability to women were evaluated in an anonymous web-based survey. Results A total of 490 women viewed the videos and responded to the survey. Of these, 353 (72%) completed all questions. Almost all (from 321/353, 91% to 334/363, 92%) agreed that the information in the videos was “very easy to understand.” The proportions reporting that all or some of the information in the video was new to them varied between videos from 36% (137/386) to 66% (233/353), the reported likelihood of using the practical tips offered in the videos varied from 70% (271/386) to 89% (331/373), and between 61% (235/386) and 70% (263/373) of respondents stated that they would recommend the videos to others. Education-level group comparisons revealed few differences in opinions about the videos, except that women with lower education were more likely than those with higher education to state that they would recommend the 2 joint health videos to others (36/45, 80% vs 208/318, 65%; P=.051 for video 3; and 36/44, 80% vs 197/309, 64%; P=.04 for video 4). There were no differences between women living in the least advantaged areas (Socioeconomic Indexes for Areas quintile areas 1 and 2) and those living in the most advantaged areas (Socioeconomic Indexes for Areas quintile areas 3, 4, and 5) in their responses to any of the questions about the 4 videos. Conclusions Most women found the videos easy to understand, learned something new from watching them, planned to use the practical tips they offered, and were likely to recommend them to other women. This suggests that short, animated videos about health self-management strategies in midlife to improve the chance of healthy aging are perceived as accessible, acceptable, easy to understand, and useful by women.

Sources of breastfeeding knowledge and support skills among midwives and students: a scoping review

Background/Aims Early discontinuation of exclusive breastfeeding often occurs as a result of conflicting advice provided by midwives and other healthcare professionals. The aim of this study was to explore sources of breastfeeding knowledge and acquisition of support skills among midwives and midwifery students. Methods This scoping review explored peer-reviewed and grey literature, identifying and synthesising seven studies and one conference abstract published between 2014 and 2024, after screening 27 full-text articles based on eligibility criteria. Results Only one study focused on breastfeeding knowledge sources, revealing that on-the-job training was the primary source (64.4%) for midwives and nurses. Seven papers detailed educational programmes, including simulation workshops, animation videos and web resources. Grey literature highlighted relevant organisations, websites and social media platforms. Conclusions Despite the widespread availability of breastfeeding education resources, this review identified a significant gap in understanding how midwives and students use these resources. Implications for practice Enhancing training and support for midwives and students is important to ensure effective use of existing resources for breastfeeding education. Expanding the available digital resources would also provide vital support.

The Influence of Gerogi Animation Video Education (Toothbrushing Movement) on Toothbrushing Behavior in Class IV School Children at SD Negeri 3 Baktirasa South Lampung in 2024

The School Dental Health Program (UKGS) offers a practical solution to the dental health issues of children by offering instruction on motor skills, which includes the effective use of tooth brushing techniques. It is the objective of UKGS to enhance and preserve the dental and oral health of all students in schools by providing health education that involves health workers and dentists, as well as by educating students on the significance of maintaining dental and oral sanitation. The purpose of this investigation is to ascertain the impact of Gerogi Animation Video Education (Tooth Brushing Movement) on the tooth brushing behavior of Grade IV students at SD Negeri 3 Baktirasa, South Lampung in 2024. The quantitative method employed in this investigation is a pre-experimental design with a pretest-posttest sample size of one group. There were 54 students included in this investigation. For the Random Sampling technique, a sample of 48 students was selected from the population. After conducting statistical tests, it has been determined that the average value (mean) of children's capacity to brush their teeth was 8.40 prior to receiving health education and 11.21 subsequent to receiving health education. Bivariate analysis indicates that the provision of animated video education has a significant impact on the tooth hygiene behavior of grade IV students at SD Negeri 3 Baktirasa, South Lampung in 2024, with a p-value of 0.000. The findings of this investigation can be employed as a source of information to demonstrate that educational videos on dental brushing have an impact on the toothbrushing behavior of children and to broaden the selection of educational media in health education for elementary school children. It is anticipated that the UKS in schools will be able to deliver health education through the use of animated videos, which will be more engaging and simpler for students to comprehend.

Utilizing Animaker in Producing Interactive Chemistry Learning Media on the Topic of Atomic Structure

Today’s learning process utilizes technological-based interactive learning media that improve students’ understanding of chemistry. Animaker is one of the AI-powered platforms to create animation and live-action videos. Therefore, this research tried to utilize Animaker to produce interactive learning media on atomic structure material, analyze the quality of the media based on material and media experts, as well as teachers, and determine students’ responses to the media. ADDIE model of research and development was used as the guideline in producing the media. First, needs analysis was carried out through literature reviews and preliminary studies. Second, the initial design was proposed, consisting of opening, main, and closing. Third, the design was then developed using Animaker website. In this stage, the media draft was validated by material and media experts. Two experts said that the media was excellent, although they provided feedback to improve the media. Some revisions were made before the media was delivered to teachers for quality testing. All teachers agreed that the media is of excellent quality (96.36%). The final media was then handed over to the student participants and they provided positive responses to the media. The Animaker is suitable for creating media that is interactive, interesting, and fun.

A Powtoon Animation Video Development Utilizing a Scientific Approach for Teaching Electrolyte and Non-electrolyte Solutions

Students often experience difficulty learning chemistry because the concepts are abstract and complex and require deep understanding. Therefore, innovation in learning is needed. Educational media is crucial for fostering this innovation. This research aims to develop educational materials on Powtoon animation that utilize a scientific approach to instruct on electrolyte and non-electrolyte solutions and evaluate their efficacy. The method applied was ADDIE model covering five steps, i.e. Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. The study involved three peer reviewers, experts in media and materials, five high school chemistry teachers, and thirteen students. Data were collected through questionnaires that were analyzed qualitatively and quantitatively with validated instruments. The result is an interactive learning video in HD mp4 format covering electrolyte and non-electrolyte solutions. The product obtained a score of 82.5% and 95% by material and media experts, respectively, and was categorized as valid. Assessments by teachers and students show scores of 82,5% and 94.4% in a very good category. This Powtoon animation video serves as an alternative and potential medium for teaching chemistry on this topic in the classroom.

Validitas Video Pembelajaran dengan Aplikasi Capcut pada Materi Sholat Kelas VII

The validation process is needed to ensure that the learning video has quality and accuracy in delivering the material. This study focuses on developing an animated video about prayer practice aimed at class VII students, utilizing the Capcut application as a creation tool. The method used is Research and Development (R&D) with a 4D approach which only includes three stages, namely: Define, Design and Development. Video quality validation was carried out by four experts, consisting of two material experts and two media experts. The assessment results show that the video obtained an average score of 133 with a feasibility percentage reaching 73%, indicating that this media is very suitable for use in learning as an interesting and effective tool.

LVCD: Reference-based Lineart Video Colorization with Diffusion Models

We propose the first video diffusion framework for reference-based lineart video colorization. Unlike previous works that rely solely on image generative models to colorize lineart frame by frame, our approach leverages a large-scale pretrained video diffusion model to generate colorized animation videos. This approach leads to more temporally consistent results and is better equipped to handle large motions. Firstly, we introduce Sketch-guided ControlNet which provides additional control to finetune an image-to-video diffusion model for controllable video synthesis, enabling the generation of animation videos conditioned on lineart. We then propose Reference Attention to facilitate the transfer of colors from the reference frame to other frames containing fast and expansive motions. Finally, we present a novel scheme for sequential sampling, incorporating the Overlapped Blending Module and Prev-Reference Attention , to extend the video diffusion model beyond its original fixed-length limitation for long video colorization. Both qualitative and quantitative results demonstrate that our method significantly outperforms state-of-the-art techniques in terms of frame and video quality, as well as temporal consistency. Moreover, our method is capable of generating high-quality, long temporal-consistent animation videos with large motions, which is not achievable in previous works. Preoperative animated videos reduce education time and increase content awareness for patients with digital subtraction angiography-guided implantable venous access ports.

This study aimed to discuss the clinical value of health education using an animated video for postoperative patients with digital subtraction angiography (DSA)-guided implantable venous access ports. Retrospective study. Based on expert consensus and clinical experience, we created an animated video presenting postoperative health education for patients to watch after infusion port implantation and uploaded it to a multimedia room. A total of 93 patients who underwent DSA-guided implantable venous access port placement at our hospital from March to June 2022 and from July to October 2022 were selected. Forty-six patients who received traditional oral and written education from March to June 2022 were selected as the control group. Forty-seven patients who received animated video-assisted health education from July to October 2022 were selected as the experimental group. The time spent on health education and patients' awareness of the educational content were compared between the 2 groups. The time spent on health education in the experimental group was 3.51 ± 0.62 minutes, which was less than that of the control group, 6.76 ± 1.14 minutes (t = 17.07, P < .001). Patients' awareness of educational content in the experimental group was 8.62 ± 1.26 points, which was significantly better than the control group's 7.26 ± 1.63 points (t = -4.490, P < .001). Animated video-assisted health education can enable patients to gain a better understanding of educational content in a shorter time. Moreover, it can improve nurses' interventional efficiency. Therefore, this health education method is worthy of clinical promotion.

THE DEVELOPMENT OF VIRTUAL VIDEO ANIMATED BASED ON ENGLISH TEACHING MEDIA FOR THE EIGHTH STUDENTS AT JUNIOR HIGH SCHOOL FITRA ABDI PALEMBANG

This research aims to develop virtual animated video-based teaching media to increase students' interest in learning and understanding in English teaching and learning activities in class VIII SMP Fitra Abdi Palembang. The method used in this research is research and development with the ADDIE model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation). Trials using a questionnaire showed that this media was very interesting with a percentage of 91.9% according to the attractiveness criteria. The results of the pre-test and post-test conducted on 30 students showed significant improvement. In the pre-test, only 7 students achieved scores according to the criteria for completeness of learning outcomes. After learning using virtual animated videos, 28 students achieved scores above the criteria for learning completeness (70), while 2 students were still below these criteria. The overall class avera1ge increased to 79.3. It can be concluded that virtual English video animation media is effective and successful in improving student learning outcomes and their interest in the learning process.

How Does Jade Dynasty Become a Big IP? Mapping Digital Media Ecology in Contemporary China

Abstract Jade Dynasty (Zhuxian) emerged as one of the pioneering and most celebrated online novels of the early 2000s in China. First serialized online in mainland China around 2002 and later published as a book series in Taiwan between 2003 and 2007, JD has been expansively adapted across various media forms, including video games (from 2007 to the present), TV dramas (2016), films (2019), and animation series (starting from 2022). Scholars acknowledge it as a pioneer in the transmedia adaptation of Chinese online novels, highlighting its significant IP (intellectual property) impact. In the realm of transmedia storytelling, scholars have pointed out different production modes, including media convergence, media mix, and “affective modules” regulated by digital platforms. Referring to the emphasis on media connections made in the studies of media mix and the issue of intermediality indicated in IP, this paper investigates the digital media ecology manifested in the transmedia system of the Jade Dynasty. By examining the online fantasy novel in the early 2000s, the video game in the mid-2000s, and the animation series in the 2020s, this study argues that each stage represents significant turning points in the contemporary Chinese digital media industry.

Efektivitas Penggunaan Media Video Animasi Terhadap Hasil Belajar Siswa pada Mata Pelajaran IPA Kelas VIII SMP Negeri 3 Pariaman

Student learning outcomes are still low, especially in science subject grade VIII at SMP Negeri 3 Pariaman. This is because the media used by teachers in the learning process is still less varied, teachers use media in the form of printed books in which there are pictures that are difficult for students to understand. Therefore, this study aims to determine the effectiveness of the use of animated video media on student learning outcomes in science subject grade VIII at SMP Negeri 3 Pariaman. This type of research is quantitative research with an experimental approach in the form of a quasi experiment. The sample selected was class VIII.3 as a control class with 31 people and class VIII.5 as an experimental class with 31 people. This research was conducted on science subjects with human respiratory system material. The data processing used was a normality test, a homogeneity test, and a hypothesis test using the independent test method of t-test samples, with a significant level of ∝&lt;0.05. The results showed that there was a difference in learning outcomes, the experimental class with an average score of 70.48, compared to the control class with an average score of 60.38. Based on the results of the t-test calculation, t count = 2.987 while t table with a significant level ∝0.05 = 2.0003. When compared, the t calculation &gt; t table is 2.987 &gt; 2.0003. Which means that H1 is accepted, so that the effective animation video media is significantly applied to the learning outcomes of grade VIII students in science subjects at SMP Negeri 3 Pariaman

How does an animated video on human sense improving students’ with hearing impairment a concept understanding?

The quality of education for children with special needs must be continuously improved to help them fully develop their potential. However, students with hearing impairments often face challenges in comprehending complex scientific concepts due to limitations in vocabulary and the abstract nature of traditional teaching materials. This study focuses on the development of animated learning videos covering human sensory systems to enhance conceptual understanding among students with hearing impairments. The research employed a Research and Development (R&amp;D) approach using the ADDIE model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation) and a pre-experimental one-group pretest-posttest design to assess the effectiveness of the videos. The product was tested on 10th-grade students at Special Senior High School of Magelang. Validation results showed that the animated video met the media criteria for validity, while the content criteria achieved high validity with scores of 79.6% and 80.4%, respectively. The effectiveness of the animated videos was further supported by an N-Gain score of 0.78, indicating a high level of improvement in student understanding. These findings suggest that the developed animated videos are highly feasible and effective tools for improving the conceptual understanding of students with hearing impairments.

Pengaruh Video Animasi tehadap Pengenalan Kosakata Bahasa Inggris di Taman Kanak Kanak Assyofa

This research was motivated by the lack of development in children's ability to recognize English vocabulary. Teachers usually explain the material by giving examples of assignments, then the children are asked to do the assignments on the Children's Worksheet. This shows a lack of teacher professionalism in developing and introducing English vocabulary to children. This research aims to determine the effect of using animated video learning media on children's introduction of English vocabulary at Assyofa. Kindergarten. with a sampling technique in the form of cluster sampling involving classes B1 and B2, each consisting of 15 children. Data collection was carried out using a test containing 4 statements, and data analysis included normality tests, homogeneity tests, and hypothesis tests. The data collection tool used was a statement sheet, and the data was processed using the SPSS version 30 for Windows application. Data analysis shows that the average pre-test score for the experimental class is 112 and the post-test score is 218. The average pre-test result for the control class is 83 and the post-test result for the control class is 174. The final data set is homogeneous and distributed regularly. Based on the results of the hypothesis test, the sig (2-tailed) value is 0.000 &lt;0.05. So Ha is accepted and Ho is rejected. Sho it can be concluded that there is an influence of animated videos on children's introduction of English vocabulary.

Presentation of a Video Animation with a Feminist Approach: An Exploration of Turkish Shadow Play

Istanbul-born visual artist and activist Canan Şenol-CANAN (1970-) created the video animation Ibretnüma-Exemplary (2009), which tells the story of a young girl who moves from an Anatolian village to a big city. The animation addresses themes such as marriage, motherhood, and old age, focusing on the current status of women in Turkish culture. It critiques the oppression created by marriage and family structures and highlights how the female body is reduced to a political and religious commodity in the protagonist's life. It also criticizes the orientalization of female beauty and its use for consumer exploitation, with any subjective evaluations clearly marked as such. The narrative is delivered by a narrator using the fairy-tale storytelling method, rooted in Anatolia's centuries-old oral narrative tradition. The piece dismantles patriarchal ideologies and non-verbal restrictions imposed on women during Türkiye's modernization process, merging an avant-garde and feminist approach in its representation technique. To illustrate the representation of every aspect of the female body, the video employs a varied visual range, incorporating traditional Turkish shadow play, largely sourced from original works and combined with collage elements.

The Effect of Video-based Learning Media on the Learning Interest of Elementary School Students

In the learning process, students’ interest in learning plays a crucial role. At the elementary school level, low interest in learning can impact their overall academic performance. Therefore, it is important to use appropriate learning strategies and adequate learning media to improve students’ interest and learning outcomes. The purpose of this study is to investigate the use of video learning media in the independent curriculum, specifically in the subject of natural and social science. Students were divided into two groups using randomization techniques, namely the experimental group of 30 and the control group of 30. In the experimental group, the manipulation used was exposing animated videos as learning media and using conventional methods (lectures) for the control group. After the intervention, both groups measured the level of student interest in learning using a learning interest scale using a four-level Likert scale questionnaire. Through the hypothesis test using an independent samples t-test, it was found that the sig. value was 0.000&lt;0.05. From these results, we can conclude that learning using video-based learning media affects the learning interest of 4th-grade students. Pathways to motivation and learning in English language education: a case of two youths engaging in multiliteracies

Purpose This study investigates the effect of digital multimodal composing (DMC) on student motivation and literacy in English as a Foreign Language (EFL) contexts. It explores how students engaged in creating digital animations to respond to literary texts and the implications for integrating DMC into traditional literacy practices. Grounded in social semiotic theory and Self-Determination Theory, this study aims to understand how digital composing influences student engagement, motivation and literacy development. Design/methodology/approach Qualitative data were gathered over a six-month period using a combination of student surveys, semi-structured interviews, reflection logs and student-produced scripts/animations. This study focused on two university students who engaged in multimodal projects as part of their extracurricular EFL activities, examining their processes and reflections. Findings Students demonstrated strong intrinsic motivation during DMC processes, largely due to the social affordances provided by digital multimodal composing. By combining traditional literacy skills with digital practices, students experienced enhanced creative expression, enhanced meaning-making and a deeper understanding of literary texts through the production and sharing of animated videos. This process promoted both emotional and cognitive engagement, emphasizing the importance of teacher guidance and digital tools in creating a more dynamic and supportive learning environment. Practical implications This study outlines a practical approach to DMC through a structured process: selecting and reading a book, proposing a change as if requesting it from the author, creating and sharing a video on YouTube to explain the change and reflecting on the experience. This approach can guide educators in designing activities that deepen student engagement, enhance critical thinking and integrate digital tools with traditional learning methods. Originality/value This study contributes to the understanding of how digital technologies can transform traditional literacy practices, offering insights into the benefits of multimodal composition for language learning and motivation in EFL contexts. It provides practical examples of how students and teachers can leverage digital tools to enhance literacy education and prepare students for 21st-century challenges.

Effects of Procedural Information, Buzzy, and Multiple Interventions on Pain in Children Undergoing Venipuncture: A Randomized Controlled Trial.

Needle-related procedures are commonly performed in childhood and lead to considerable pain. This randomized controlled study was conducted to compare the effects on venipuncture pain of the Buzzy, an informational animated video, multiple interventions, and standard care in children aged 6-12 years. One hundred eighty children were assigned to the groups using a computerized randomization program. Pain level was evaluated by the children, parents, and their nurses using the Wong-Baker Faces Pain Scale. The level of agreement among the nurse, parents, and children's pain reports was evaluated. Multivariable regression analysis was performed to identify the factors significantly associated with pain score. The participants in the Buzzy, video watching, and multiple intervention groups reported lower mean pain scores (child: KW = 28.24, p < .001; parent: KW = 18.51, p < .001; nurse: KW = 44.4, p < .001) than their peers in the control group. Moreover, age was identified as a risk factor affecting pain level (OR = 1.375, 95% CI [1.086, 1.740]; p = .008). Buzzy and informational videos are potentially effective methods to facilitate venipuncture-related pain management in children. The use of pain management methods during venipuncture is recommended, especially in children younger than 10 years old.
