The Driving effect of industrial upgrading on new-type urbanization in Zhejiang Province

The process of urbanization is supported by the economic foundation and accompanied by the upgrading of industrial structure. At present, the new-type urbanization of Zhejiang is in the stage of rapid development, and the upgrading of industrial structure is continuously and stably advanced and rational. Urban and rural development and urban construction are gradually moving towards a higher level. Therefore, it is of great significance to explore the driving effect of industrial upgrading on the new-type urbanization in Zhejiang Province for studying how to further promote the new-type urbanization process in China. Based on the analysis of industrial structure upgrading and urbanization in Zhejiang Province, this paper adopts the entropy weighting method to comprehensively evaluate the new-type urbanization level of each city in Zhejiang Province. Using panel data from 2009 to 2018, empirical analysis is made on the influencing factors of new-type urbanization level score of each city in Zhejiang Province. The influence of industrial structure upgrading index and other factors on the new-type urbanization level in Zhejiang province is obtained, which provides reference for Zhejiang and other regions to guide the industrial upgrading and improve the new-type urbanization development level.

The Development Status of IP Culture in China's Cultural and Creative Industries

This article analyzes the advantages and disadvantages of this emerging cultural and creative industry by studying the development of China's cultural IP industry, to make recommendations for the development of China's cultural IP industry in the future. At present, the hot concept of IP operation emphasizes the mining, incubation, and sustainable creation of IP value. IP has gradually become the core of the pan-entertainment ecosystem. IP attracts the first fans through high-quality original content, and extends to other areas through recreation, achieving exponential growth in the number of fans and horizontal expansion of the fan base. In this process, the influence of original IP diverges, promotes the interaction and integration between different industries, constitutes a good industrial ecology, and releases and monetizes the value of IP. The article analyzes the development of China's IP industry in detail in the past two years, through the redefinition, policy combing, analysis of industrial structure, development trends, and cross-industry integration. At the same time, this article also discusses the advantages of China's IP industry development, current problems, and solutions, which found the direction suitable for the future development of China's cultural IP industry.

Heterogeneity Analysis of Industrial Structure Upgrading on Eco-Environmental Quality from a Spatial Perspective: Evidence from 11 Coastal Provinces in China

Upgrading the industrial structure and improving the quality of the ecological environment are important strategic steps to realize the modernization of China. Based on the panel data of 11 provinces (municipalities) in China’s coastal areas from 2010 to 2019, this paper uses the spatial Dubin model and the threshold effect model to study the impact of industrial structure upgrading on eco-environmental quality. The results show that the influence of industrial structure upgrading on ecological environment quality has a positive “U”-shaped distribution. Based on the spatial econometric model, it is found that the rationalization of industrial structure and the optimization of industrial structure have spatial spillover effects on the ecological environment quality, and the influence of the rationalization of industrial structure and the optimization of industrial structure on the ecological environment quality of the surrounding area is positive “U”-shaped and inverted “U”-shaped, respectively. Based on the threshold model, it is found that industrial structure rationalization has a small effect on the ecological environment’s quality when the degree of scientific and technological innovation is low. When scientific and technological innovation reaches a certain threshold, industrial structure rationalization has a significant effect on the quality of the ecological environment. In addition, from a regional perspective, the influence of industrial structure rationalization in the East China Sea and the South China Sea and industrial optimization in the Bohai-Yellow Seas on the eco-environmental quality of the surrounding areas has a positive “U”-shaped distribution, while the influence of the optimization of industrial structure in the South China Sea on the eco-environmental quality of the surrounding areas has an inverted “U”-shaped curve on the left side.

A tripartite game analysis of industrial structure upgrading and green development of regional economy: A case study of Shanxi Province, China

In the contemporary context, both the upgrading of the industrial structure and the implementation of environmentally sustainable practices within the regional economy have emerged as central avenues for achieving quality development. This study examines the strategic behavior of local governments, capital, and people through the construction of a tripartite evolutionary game model. Subsequently, six different evolutionary stable strategy (ESS) are subjected to a comprehensive analysis. Finally, the parameters influencing the strategic decisions of each party are meticulously examined through simulation. The results of this study can be summarized as follows: First, it is shown that under appropriate conditions, all three entities support the scenario of stable development prospects associated with industrial structure upgrading (1, 1, 1). Second, the strategic choices made by capital and people depend on several factors, including existing profits, future benefits, and the costs associated with transformation. At the same time, local governments show a propensity to adopt incentive strategies. Ultimately, the research underscores the pronounced impact of future benefits, transformation costs, and the probability of success in industrial upgrading on all stakeholders, shaping their evolutionary trajectories and results. In particular, the probability of successful industrial structure upgrading exerts the greatest influence on evolutionary trajectories, while the possibility of government imposing carbon taxes and initial willingness primarily determine the evolutionary trajectory. This paper attempts to provide a new perspective on industrial structure upgrading and green development of the regional economy by combining evolutionary game theory and scenario analysis methods to promote the process of industrial structure upgrading and sustainable development.

THE STRUCTURES OF NIGERIA INDUSTRIAL ECONOMY AND CIRCULAR FLOW INCOME

The paper focus on the structures of Nigeria industrial economy , Nigerian MSEs are more developed than the SSE, with production techniques characterized by organised factory–type processing of more complex goods. They dominate in textiles, readymade garments, metal products, footwear as well as pharmaceutical products, and cater for a wide market. They employ relatively high technology, but unlike large scale enterprises (LSEs), are less capital intensive. In a number of cases, they represent backward integration from trading activities. Access to technology is not a major constraint; they are able to employ technical specialists to install equipment and train employees. The LSEs comprises the modern factories, often with multi-national linkages, using the state-of-the-art technologies and mass-producing for both domestic and export markets. The analysis of industrial structure by size, in 2006, showed that SSEs constituted 65.5 per cent, while the MSEs and LSEs constituted 32.0 and 2.5 per cent respectively.

Adaptability analysis of water pollution and advanced industrial structure in Jiangsu Province, China

The advanced development of industrial structure is the inevitable way to alleviate a regional water quality crisis. However, the adaptability between water pollution and advanced industrial structure (AIS) remains unrevealed. Analyzing the adaptability between the two can provide important enlightenment for regional differentiated policy making. Taking Jiangsu Province as a case study, this study firstly assessed the status of water pollution during the years 2013–2019 through quantitatively analyzing the grey water footprint (GWF) and grey water footprint intensity (GWFI). Secondly, the level of AIS was measured to identify the characteristics and evolution of the industrial structure. Finally, the Tapio decoupling elasticity coefficient was introduced to reflect the adaptability between GWF and AIS, and between GWFI and AIS. The main results showed that: (1) From 2013 to 2019, the GWF in Jiangsu Province showed a fluctuating decline, with an overall decrease of 27%, while the GWFI continuously declined. Agriculture was the largest sector of GWF in Jiangsu Province from 2003 to 2016, and domesticity replaced it as the largest water pollution source from 2017 to 2019. (2) The overall industrial structure of Jiangsu Province achieved a certain degree of advanced development. However, the level of AIS in Jiangsu Province was not significantly improved, and the secondary industry was still in a leading position. (3) In terms of the total amount and intensity, water pollution in Jiangsu Province was well adapted to the AIS. Among them, the strong decoupling adaptation (SDA), ideal adaptation state, was achieved between the GWF and the AIS in 75% of the year, while there has always been SDA between the GWFI and the AIS in Jiangsu Province. Therefore, targeted policies based on industrial optimization should be rationally formulated aimed at achieving effective water pollution control. The findings of adaptability analysis can be applied to regional zoning management and is conducive to promoting sustainable support of the water environment for industrial development.

Return on sales in the Czech building industry? Does firm size matter?

The presented paper explores the link between firm size and returns on sales (RoS) in Czech building companies. We examined how different business sizes relate to the return on sales, considering staff numbers and the RoS movement over a period. The CRIBIS database of CRIF Company - Czech Credit Bureau provided relevant data from 2016 to 2020, including profitable and active building enterprises. The industry analysis involves an empirical approach using industry structure analysis, return on sales analysis and observing its movement from 2016 to 2020. The industry predominantly encompasses small firms of fewer than 25 employees, exhibiting dramatic variations of the average return on sales over the period. Large companies exceeding 250 employees show complete conformity, yet their numbers are small in the construction sector. The correlation analysis revealed that the business size, i.e., staff numbers, is independent of the return on sales. The submitted work suggests a new size classification according to total assets and sales.

Analysis of China's EV Battery Industry and Supply Chain Structure

전기자동차(EV) 시장의 성장과 함께 중국 정부는 EV배터리 산업에 대한 다양한 정책을 추진하고 있다. 2018년 이후 추진된 신규 정책의 대부분은 공급망 전반의 경쟁력 확보와 품질, 생산, 기술역량 확보 등이다. 이에 본 논문에서는 중국의 전기차 배터리 산업 정책 및 공급망 구조와 함께 중국의 배터리 소재 산업별 글로벌 공급업체의 구조적 변화를 분석하였다. 전기차 배터리 시장은 한·중·일 간 치열한 경쟁 속에서 특정 국가가 큰 우위를 선점했다고 단정하기는 아직 어렵다. 그러나, 다수 기업이 선전하고 있는 한국과 중국의 시장점유율 경쟁이 다소 견고해지고 있는 것과 달리 파나소닉만이 고군분투하고 있는 일본의 비중은 감소하는 추세이다. 이에 따라 한국과 중국 간 전기차 배터리 경쟁이 더욱 치열해질 전망이다. 다만, 미국의 대(對)중국 공급망 봉쇄전략이 강화될수록 중국의 자체적인 국내 공급망(DVC) 강화로 이어져 글로벌 공급망 전체에 혼란을 발생시킬 수 있다는 점도 주목할 필요가 있다. 이미 중국 리튬이온전지 공급망 구조에서 국내 공급망이 가장 큰 비중(21.5%)을 차지하고 있기 때문이다. 중국 정부 주도하에 급성장하는 전기차 시장을 더욱 발전시키기 위해 중국은 안정적인 공급망 체계 구축, 배터리산업의 초격차 기술 확보 등 관련 업계 전반에 걸친 적극적인 노력이 계속될 것으로 전망한다.

Sectoral composition of the business economy: patterns of formation and structural changes

The article discusses the issue of the formation of the composition of the economy based on the study of its industry structure. The definition of the concept of "structure of the economy" is given from the point of view of narrow and broad interpretation. The essence of the concept of "industry" and the specifics of forming the industry composition by the Classifier of Types of Economic Activities are highlighted. The most generalized groupings of types of economic activity at the level of sections of this classifier make it possible to distinguish the main branches of the economy. The main characteristics and types of entrepreneurial activity that form tangible and intangible production spheres are defined. A classification of types of industries in the sphere of material and non-material production was formed based on the study of existing approaches to the selection of groups of industries, namely, according to the purpose of products, the action of raw materials and consumer factors, according to dynamism, according to development trends, according to technological level, according to the degree of manageability. General economic, inter-branch, and intra-branch factors that affect the branch structure of the business economy are considered. The role of structural changes in determining further economic development priorities is noted. Particular attention is paid to the definition and characteristics of the priority sectors of Ukraine's economy from the standpoint of the government of Ukraine and experts. The main (leading) industries are selected based on the industry structure analysis. In recent years, the most dynamic and promising industries have included information technologies, the military-industrial complex, energy, the agricultural sector, trade, transport infrastructure, and tourism. With the beginning of hostilities in Ukraine, four industries can be singled out, on which the primary efforts for their maintenance should be directed first: military-tech (high-tech weapons); metallurgy, mining industry, and mechanical engineering; agriculture and food industry; IT industry. Prediction and Industrial Structure Analysis of Local GDP Economy Based on Machine Learning

The process of regional economic growth is a long-term evolutionary law. During this long evolutionary process, some regions may continue to grow, while others may fall into decline. It takes a long time. For example, from the perspective of our country’s regional economic growth since the turn of the century, the east coast has been in a relatively developed state, while the economy of some western regions is relatively backward. Therefore, how to promote the long-term growth of developed regions and revitalize the troubled regional economy by studying the long-term growth mechanism of the regional economy is an important topic of regional economic research. In this context, we can draw the following conclusions. (1) The employment structure of major industries has been declining year by year since 2000, and this trend is relatively obvious and the decline is relatively large. Despite some changes in industrial growth, the overall trend is upward. The employment structure of the service industry has increased year by year, and its proportion in total employment usually exceeds that of major industries, and it is the industry with the largest number of employees. (2) The accuracy under the machine learning model is 79.46%, the reliability is 89.27%, and it is feasible; the accuracy under the data mining model is 68.45%, the reliability is 75.43%, and the feasibility is 86.18%; the accuracy rate under the traditional statistical model is 60.14%, the feasibility is 68.24%, and the reliability is 75.12%. GDP not only is the core indicator of national economic accounting but also can be used to measure the economic status and development level of a country or region. The impact of industrial structure on GDP is huge, and a suitable industrial structure can promote a healthier growth of GDP. In order to analyze the relationship between our country’s GDP and industrial structure, the quantitative analysis method of grey correlation analysis is used to study it, and then according to the calculation results, suggestions for adjusting and optimizing the industrial structure will be put forward to the relevant ministries.

Hyperelasticity and the radial point interpolation method via the Ogden model

Rubber-like and biological materials could show a hyperelastic behaviour, often studied using the Finite Element Method (FEM), limitations still exist due to the large deformations that this type of material experiment. Conversely, meshless methods are suitable for large deformations. The Ogden hyperelastic model can also represent the Neo-Hookean and Mooney–Rivlin models with ease, making it versatile but its implementation into meshless methods is yet to be done.In this work, the Ogden model was implemented into the Radial Point Interpolation Method (RPIM), a robust and accurate meshless method, within its iterative process allowing for future simulation of multi-material domains. Then, the implementation was tested with small deformations cases. The implementation was validated using three examples and a different hyperelastic model was used for each example, Mooney–Rivlin, Neo-Hookean, and Ogden, whilst their material properties were taken from the literature.The results were compared to FEM solutions and the literature, a good agreement was achieved with differences below 2%, indicating a successful implementation. This is the first implementation of the Ogden model into the RPIM. The ability to model hyperelastic structures together with the inherent advantages of meshless methods provides a good alternative for the analysis of industrial and biological structures.

Application and Analysis of Spatial Spillover Effects of an Improved Panel Data Econometric Model in Universities, Population, and Industrial Parks in Guiyang

In the field of econometrics, panel data are an extremely important type of data. In macroeconomic research, panel data models are widely used in exchange rate determination theory, testing of cross-border economic growth and convergence theory, analysis of industrial structure, research on technological innovation, etc. The agglomeration and population distribution of colleges and universities, and the economic support of industrial parks play an important role in economic and social development as a source of research and development and a source of talents. The panel data model usually assumes that the error term follows a normal distribution, but the actual data are difficult to satisfy this assumption, and the estimation obtained by traditional methods may be biased or even invalid. This paper proposes a more robust and effective estimation method (ELS-EL) based on the panel data mean regression model, and extends this method to complex panel data models such as generalized linear models and partial linear models; in addition, this paper is based on panel data. We proposed a two-stage instrumental variable method (2S-IVFEQR) to reduce the computational complexity and generalized the new method to the quantile regression model of dynamic panel data. At the same time, this paper uses the above-improved panel data econometric model to analyze the spatial spillover effects of college aggregation, population distribution, and industrial parks in Guiyang. This study found that the agglomeration of colleges and universities has significantly promoted the economic growth of our country. These promotion effects come from both the direct contribution of college agglomeration and the positive external spillover effect of college agglomeration.

Sustainability and the Australian international higher education industry: towards a multidimensional model

PurposeThis paper aims to explore how the Australian Government represented issues of sustainability in Australian international higher education (IHE) policies and how it framed efforts to foster enhanced strategies for sustainable development of IHE. This research calls for a change from one-dimensional economic sustainability to a more multi-dimensional conception of sustainability, including emphasizing the role of the political sphere in issues of sustainability.Design/methodology/approachThis paper uses discourse analysis of policy documents, specifically Bacchi’s (2009) “what is the problem represented to be” approach, to explore the problematization behind selected government policies related to IHE in Australia.FindingsThis research identified existing challenges and factors that have affected the sustainability of Australian IHE and examined how the Australian Government constructed this issue. In light of this approach, a theoretical model is proposed from internal resource analysis and external industry and foreign market structure analysis to help foster more sustainable development of IHE.Research limitations/implicationsThis study is based on policy document analysis. Consequently, future empirical research is needed to examine the impact of these policies and further substantiate the findings of this study.Practical implicationsThis paper proposes a theoretical model for strategy making that helps gain and maintain sustainable competitive advantage in IHE from a more integrated perspective; such an approach enables more systemic thinking on strategy proposals and offers a reference for future practice. This research will contribute to policy design for the sustainability of the Australian IHE industry and promote change from a one-dimensional economic sustainability to a more multi-dimensional sustainability approach, thereby offering a point of reference for other countries that face similar issues.Social implicationsThis study points out the need to broaden the business focus, expand the value created from shareholder value to the common good and change “inside-out” economic perspectives to “outside-in” integrated perspectives for business, including the IHE industry.Originality/valueThe sustainability of IHE has become an important concern in Australian policies but is an area for further inquiry in academic discussion and research. By closely examining government policies, particularly from a discursive approach (after Bacchi), this paper makes a contribution to policy design for the sustainability of the Australian IHE industry, helping to promote a more multi-dimensional approach to sustainability.

Studies that explore the Bank's internal marketing strategies have been examined by previous research but based on competitive banking dynamics and highly dynamic market demands it is difficult to predict, the study of marketing strategies in the context of the Bank's companies is considered to be relevant for review at any time.
 This article aims to analyze the marketing strategies available at PT Bank Mandiri, Tbk Yogyakarta branch 2004 with the SWOT analysis method. Data was obtained through interviews with the management of the Bank Mandiri Yogyakarta branch. The analytical tool used is the analysis of industrial structure (Porter), SWOT. The results of the study through a SWOT analysis of the position of PT. Bank Mandiri in its marketing strategy uses a growth strategy.

Construction of an Industrial Structure Analysis and Evaluation Model for Oil and Gas Resource-Based Cities Based on Deep Learning Model and Cluster Analysis

In the present time of resource integration, the industrial transformation of oil and gas resource-based cities has become inevitable. Through the qualitative and quantitative analysis of the current situation of industrial structure, the overweight of industrial structure is pointed out and reasonable suggestions are put forward for the existing problems. This paper constructs an industrial structure analysis and evaluation model for oil and gas resource-based cities based on deep learning model and cluster analysis. The transformation of traditional industries is a long process, and at present the oil and petrochemical industry should still be an important support for Daqing’s economic development, so more efforts should be made to extend the service life of oil fields and to get more funds and time for successive industries. Fine exploration is being carried out, relying on continuous innovation in exploration theory, methods, technology and management, and re-measuring old exploratory wells in fields that have already been explored.

Parametric Optimization and Decision Support Model Framework for Life Cycle Cost Analysis and Life Cycle Assessment of Flexible Industrial Building Structures Integrating Production Planning

Most industrial buildings have a very short lifespan due to frequently changing production processes. The load-bearing structure severely limits the flexibility of industrial buildings and is a major contributor to their costs, carbon footprint and waste. This paper presents a parametric optimization and decision support (POD) model framework that enables automated structural analysis and simultaneous calculation of life cycle cost (LCC), life cycle assessment (LCA), recycling potential and flexibility assessment. A method for integrating production planning into early structural design extends the framework to consider the impact of changing production processes on the footprint of building structures already at an early design stage. With the introduction of a novel grading system, design teams can quickly compare the performance of different building variants to improve decision making. The POD model framework is tested by means of a variant study on a pilot project from a food and hygiene production facility. The results demonstrate the effectiveness of the framework for identifying potential economic and environmental savings, specifying alternative building materials, and finding low-impact industrial structures and enclosure variants. When comparing the examined building variants, significant differences in the LCC (63%), global warming potential (62%) and flexibility (55%) of the structural designs were identified. In future research, a multi-objective optimization algorithm will be implemented to automate the design search and thus improve the decision-making process.

Research on the relationship between urbanization, industrial structure and urban-rural income gap-Taking Sichuan province as an example

This paper selects three indicators of urbanization, industrial structure and urban-rural income gap to construct a three-dimensional VAR model. Through Granger causality test, impulse response function and variance decomposition methods, a dynamic analysis of urbanization and industrial structure on urban-rural income gap in Sichuan Province has been carried out. The research shows that: urbanization and industrial structure have an important impact on the urban-rural income gap in Sichuan Province. Urbanization and the urban-rural income gap present a “U-shaped” relationship, that is, in the initial stage when the level of urbanization increases, the urban-rural income gap will be narrowed, and when urbanization develops to a certain degree, the gap will gradually be widened. The relationship between the industrial structure and the urban-rural income gap is an “inverted U-shaped” relationship, that is, the urban-rural income gap will be widened when the industrial structure is at a lower level. As the industrial structure is optimized and upgraded, the gap will gradually be narrowed.

제주지역의 지속가능한 발전전략 탐색을 위한 산업구조 분석

이 연구는 코로나19 등에 의해 경기 하강국면에 진입하게 된 제주경제의 경쟁력을 회복시키고, 지속적인 지역경제 성장 방향 탐색을 위해 필요한 기초자료로 활용될 수 있는 지역산업구조를 분석하였다. 본 연구는 산업발전과 산업구조 재편 전략수립을 위해 필요한 자료로 활용될 수 있는 GRDP분석, 입지계수분석, 잠재성장률분석, 성장률 격차분석 등 다양한 지역경제 분석을 통해 지난 35년 동안의 제주경제를 진단·분석하였다. 제주경제의 주요 산업별 성장률은 농림어업의 경우 성장률이 하향 추세를 보이고 있는 반면, 나머지 산업들은 성장하는 추세를 보이고 있다. 한편 전산업의 실제 실질성장률이 잠재성장률에 미치지 못하여 지역산업 전반에 걸쳐 자원의 배분이 비효율적으로 이루어지고 있는 것으로 나타났다. 이 연구결과는 향후 산업별 경쟁요인 및 성장가능성에 대한 보다 면밀한 검토를 통해 제주지역 산업구조 재편 등을 위한 기초자료로 활용될 수 있을 것으로 사료된다.

Index-based analysis of industrial structure and environmental efficiency based on sewage discharge assessment in China

Based on the Moran Index (MI), which reflects the relationship between pollution status and the geographic and spatial characteristics of pollution. This study further discussed the impact of changes in financial and economic structure, pollution and spatial characteristics on urban sewage discharge. The results showed that when the pollution is highly correlated with spatial characteristics, the scale of urban sewage discharge would be larger, and the overall environmental regulatory status of the city would be worse. In terms of regional differences, the distance between cities in the central region and provincial capitals had a negative impact on the efficiency of sewage discharge. Finally, quantile regression found that when the efficiency of urban sewage discharge was in the higher quantile, the growth of labor disposable income and GDP would further enhance the discharge efficiency.
