This work focuses on the fabrication of Aluminium alloy (A356) matrix composites (AMCs) reinforced with various weight percentages of B4C particulates using Electromagnetic Stir Casting Process with Vacuum. By using this process, a non dendritic microstructure is generated due to continuous stirring of the liquid metal during solidification. Also vacuum helps in reducing the porosity, thereby the mechanical properties improve. The microstructure, mechanical properties, XRD and thermal analysis of the fabricated AMCs are analyzed. The mechanical properties like tensile strength, hardness and porosity improved, with the increase in weight percentage of B4C particulates in the AMCs while the impact strength and percentage elongation decreased.
