A Kind of ECC - KNN Classifier's Vehicle Identification Algorithm

this article presents an improved classifier vehicle identification algorithm to improve the efficiency of the existing vehicle recognition algorithm. First, using edge orientation histograms to extract image characteristics, then, Error correction coding is applied to the classification of classifier, the multi-class classification problems turned into multiple binary classification problems. A large number of experimental analysis shows that the improved vehicle identification algorithm has good recognition performance and robustness. Therefore, the algorithm which this article used has high theoretical and practical value.

An Efficient Vehicle Model Recognition Method

An efficient vehicle model recognition method based on Adaptive Harris corner detector is presented in this paper. First, the vehicle radiator grid is selected as ROI and Harris corner detection is used to detect corner as vehicle model features, to solve a problem of inconsistencies in the number of corner between different models or the same model in different environment. Second, an adaptive threshold function is constructed to control the number of corner replacing a fixed threshold, ensuring that the image is always able to produce a certain number of strong corners. Third, a parallel scheme is designed to accelerate the vehicle recognition algorithm via GPU/CPU heterogeneous computing model to meet real-time requirement, which includes parallelization of algorithm and parallelization of process. The experiments on 1096 big truck images of 12 vehicle models obtain the recognition accuracy rate of 99.5%, and achieve 58x speedup on average by a platform with Intel Core i5 2400 and NVIDIA C2075. The results show that our proposed method can meet the requirements of practical application.

A Scan-Line-Based Hole Filling Algorithm for Vehicle Recognition

The existence of holes in vehicle object makes it difficult to extract the feature. existing hole-filling method are capable of filling holes on small and smooth regions of a object, for large holes whit complex boundaries or in curved region in vehicle object, they may not obtain the satisfactory results. For resolving this problem, a novel hole-filling algorithm based on horizontal scan line was proposed to fill arbitrary holes in vehicle object obtained from vehicle image. Experiments show that the algorithm has good performance and efficiency, and in the filling processing, the feature of the area and perimeter of an object can be obtained at the same time.

Knowledge Template Based Multi-perspective Car Recognition Algorithm

In order to solve the problem due to the vehicle-oriented society such as traffic jam or traffic accident, intelligent transportation system(ITS) is raised and become scientist's research focus, with the purpose of giving people better and safer driving condition and assistance. The core of intelligent transport system is the vehicle recognition and detection, and it's the prerequisites for other related problems. Many existing vehicle recognition algorithms are aiming at one specific direction perspective, mostly front/back and side view. To make the algorithm more robust, our paper raised a vehicle recognition algorithm for oblique vehicles while also do research on front/back and side ones. The algorithm is designed based on the common knowledge of the car, such as shape, structure and so on. The experimental results of many car images show that our method has fine accuracy in car recognition.

Alternative Automatic Vehicle Classification Method

Alternative Automatic Vehicle Classification Method The paper deals with the new method of automatic vehicle classification called ALT (ALTernative). Its characteristic feature is versatility resulting from its open structure, moreover a user can adjust the number of vehicles and their category according to individual requirements. It uses an algorithm for automatic vehicle recognition employing data fusion methods and fuzzy sets. High effectiveness of classification while retaining high selectivity of division was proved by test results. The effectiveness of classification of all vehicles at the level of 95% and goods trucks of 100% is more than satisfactory.

Vehicle tracking using a generic multi-sensor fusion approach

This paper tackles the problem of improving the robustness of vehicle detection for advanced ACC and obstacle detection applications. Our approach is based on a multi-sensor data fusion for vehicle detection and tracking. Our architecture combines two sensors: a frontal camera and a 2D laser scanner. Improving robustness stems from two aspects. First, the vision-based detection by developing a multi-algorithm approach enhanced with a genetic AdaBoost-based algorithm for vehicle recognition is addressed. Then, the transferable belief model and evidence theory as a fusion framework to combine confidence levels delivered by the algorithms in order to improve the classification are used. The architecture of the system is very modular, generic and flexible: it could be used for other detection applications or using other sensors or algorithms providing the same outputs. The system was successfully implemented on a prototype vehicle and was evaluated under real conditions and over various multi-sensor databases and various test scenarios.

The final architecture of the system is very modular, generic and flexible in that it could be used for other detection applications or using other sensors or algorithms providing the same outputs.
