Research and application of information service platform for agricultural economic cooperation organization based on Hadoop cloud computing platform environment: taking agricultural and fresh products as an example

At present, information technology has become to promote economic development and social progress is the most crucial technical factors, with the application of biotechnology and information technology in agriculture on the deepening of modern agriculture and information agriculture will be even more rapid development. Agricultural information system, as the carrier of agricultural information technology, plays a more and more important role in promoting the sustained, stable and efficient development of agriculture. Hadoop is a free open source cloud platform and a software framework that allows distributed processing of large data on cluster computers. It is a reliable, efficient and scalable cloud platform, which is suitable for simulation test in the laboratory environment. In this paper, the design and implementation of agricultural economic cooperation organization information service platform for agricultural fresh products and cloud computing technology based on Hadoop is studied. This paper mainly introduces the cloud service platform based on Hadoop, and analyzes the application of cloud services in agricultural informatization. This paper mainly designs and implements the design of agricultural fresh products information service platform based on Hadoop cloud computing platform, including architecture, knowledge base, platform interface and main functional modules.

A global approach to estimate irrigated areas – a comparison between different data and statistics

Abstract. Agriculture is the largest global consumer of water. Irrigated areas constitute 40 % of the total area used for agricultural production (FAO, 2014a) Information on their spatial distribution is highly relevant for regional water management and food security. Spatial information on irrigation is highly important for policy and decision makers, who are facing the transition towards more efficient sustainable agriculture. However, the mapping of irrigated areas still represents a challenge for land use classifications, and existing global data sets differ strongly in their results. The following study tests an existing irrigation map based on statistics and extends the irrigated area using ancillary data. The approach processes and analyzes multi-temporal normalized difference vegetation index (NDVI) SPOT-VGT data and agricultural suitability data – both at a spatial resolution of 30 arcsec – incrementally in a multiple decision tree. It covers the period from 1999 to 2012. The results globally show a 18 % larger irrigated area than existing approaches based on statistical data. The largest differences compared to the official national statistics are found in Asia and particularly in China and India. The additional areas are mainly identified within already known irrigated regions where irrigation is more dense than previously estimated. The validation with global and regional products shows the large divergence of existing data sets with respect to size and distribution of irrigated areas caused by spatial resolution, the considered time period and the input data and assumption made.

Design and Implementation of Agricultural Information Acquisition System Based on ZigBee and Qt

This paper introduces the design and implementation of agricultural products information collection system based on Qt and ZigBee platform. It consists of three subsystems mainly based in acquisition of images, temperature and humidity values which are passed to the regional gateway. The regional gateway is equipped with embedded Linux operating system and deployed Qt runtime library. The function of transmitting the static image of agricultural products and the temperature and humidity to the regional gateway through the ZigBee Wireless Sensor Network is realized, the pH value, electrical conductivity and light intensity of the growth environment of agricultural products were measured by using Qt library combined with sensor cluster, it can store, display and query the image, electrical conductivity and other parameters in the regional gateway.

Product competitiveness analysis for e-commerce platform of special agricultural products

On the basis of analyzing the influence factors of the product competitiveness of the e-commerce platform of the special agricultural products and the characteristics of the analytical methods for the competitiveness of the special agricultural products, the price, the sales volume, the postage included service, the store reputation, the popularity, etc. were selected in this paper as the dimensionality for analyzing the competitiveness of the agricultural products, and the principal component factor analysis was taken as the competitiveness analysis method. Specifically, the web crawler was adopted to capture the information of various special agricultural products in the e-commerce platform ---- chi.taobao.com. Then, the original data captured thereby were preprocessed and MYSQL database was adopted to establish the information library for the special agricultural products. Then, the principal component factor analysis method was adopted to establish the analysis model for the competitiveness of the special agricultural products, and SPSS was adopted in the principal component factor analysis process to obtain the competitiveness evaluation factor system (support degree factor, price factor, service factor and evaluation factor) of the special agricultural products. Then, the linear regression method was adopted to establish the competitiveness index equation of the special agricultural products for estimating the competitiveness of the special agricultural products.

This paper designs and implements a wisdom agriculture platform client based on Android. According to the need of wisdom agriculture and achieve goal of agricultural industrialization, combined with mode of operation of agricultural production, this paper analyses agricultural production related business processes and information systems process from services provided the supplier’s perspective. The system realizes the data synchronization between server and client and the real-time monitoring and control of the production condition of each greenhouse. At the same time it provides real-time production of the majority farmers for agricultural experts and leadership and improves the efficiency of agricultural management.

Reliability and Efficiency of Data Processing in Agricultural Logistics Matching

In the processing of Logistics matching information of agricultural products, there is a serious subjective tendency affecting the reliability of matching. In order to generate useful information for matching decisions, it is necessary to adopt appropriate and effective data processing method. Data processing, information access, effectiveness of logistics of agricultural products are different stages which are closely related and distinguished with each other. Data value is determined by the amount of information that gained by decision makers, and the value of information is determined by its utility. The basic methods of data processing is data deformation, deformation is not only a improving process of data validation, to a certain extent that it deviates from the original objective data, thereby reducing the reliability of the data. Data processing of agricultural product logistics should response to objective facts as much as possible, also take into account the subjective orientation. We cannot emphasis on subjectivity too much and set aside specific environments. Reliability and availability of data processing must be considered to ensures validity of the logistics match.

Information sharing in supply chain of agricultural products based on the Internet of Things

Purpose – The Internet of Things (IoT) is one of the efficient ways to solve the problems on information sharing in the supply chain of agricultural products. The paper aims to discuss this issue. Design/methodology/approach – In this paper, a scheme of information sharing in the supply chain of agricultural products is developed and the information of agricultural products is designed and described with Physical Markup Language. Findings – In addition, the EPC Information Services (EPCIS) system of agricultural products is analyzed and designed, and the design of tracking and tracing of the agricultural supply chain based on the IoT is proposed. Life-Cycle Assessment of Oilseeds for Biojet Production Using Localized Cold-Press Extraction.

As nonfood oilseed varieties are being rapidly developed, new varieties may affect agricultural production efficiency and life-cycle assessment results. Current, detailed feedstock production information is necessary to accurately assess impacts of the biofuel life-cycle. The life-cycle impacts of four nonfood oilseeds (carinata [ L. Braun], camelina [ L. Crantz], canola or rapeseed [ L.], and sunflower [ L.]) were modeled using Argonne National Laboratory's GREET model to compare feedstocks for renewable biojet production using cold-press oil extraction. Only feedstock-related inputs were varied, allowing isolation of feedstock influence. Carinata and camelina performed slightly better than other oilseed crops at most product stages and impact categories as a result of current, low-input agricultural information and new feedstock varieties. Between 40 to 50% of SO and NO emissions, ∼25% of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, and ∼40% of total energy consumption for the biojet production impact occurred during feedstock production. Within the first standard deviation, total well-to-tank emissions varied between ∼13% (GHG) and ∼35% (SO) for all feedstocks emphasizing the importance of accurate agricultural production information. Nonfood oilseed feedstock properties (e.g., oil content, density) and agricultural management (e.g., fertilization, yield) affect life-cycle assessment results. Using biofuels in feedstock production and focusing on low-impact management would assist producers in improving overall product sustainability.

Locating Logistics Locations of Suspicious Agricultural Production Food Safety Emergencies

It is difficult to locate the suspicious agricultural products in agricultural product safety emergencies, this study builds an agricultural product logistics system from suppliers to retailers based on RFID technology and designs an agricultural product logistics tracking systems, which collects and integrates underlying data from logistics nodes. Tracking queries get logistics node addresses from the address resolution service system by Internet and obtain and synthesize data from all the underlying data sources to trace agricultural product information for effectively locating locations of suspicious agricultural products. It is very important to prevent more extension for safety emergencies.

Research on Agricultural Products Traceability Mechanism Based on RFID

This study aim is to provide a feasible and effective way for the government supervision, agricultural enterprises and consumers to obtain traceability information. This study researches traceability of agricultural products. Through the analysis of the participators, the influence of the agricultural products circulation pattern of supply chain, traceability security system and tracing process, it constructs a pattern of the agricultural products traceability and puts forward a method to realize agricultural products traceability model. The method uses RFID to collect related information of agricultural products and realize the agricultural products traceability process based on the traceability chain construction of the agricultural products and redesigned trace code. Finally, this study analyzes the concrete application of the proposed method in beef traceability to prove the feasibility of our circulation and method.

Key Technology of Agricultural Production and Market Information Matching in Big Data Era

This article describes challenges faced by agricultural production and marketing in the era of big data, and then builds the agricultural market information matching platform based on HADOOP & NUTCH combining cloud computing technology, finally details its layers and key technologies, including the use of open source search engine to capture the whole network market information to build agricultural production and market data sources, users’ interest model and the combination of matching algorithm and HADOOP environment. The aim of this paper is to make the agricultural market information matching platform more suitable for Chinese agricultural production and marketing system in order to solve the bottleneck problems such as information overload, lack of storage space, scalability and efficiency of analysis and calculation. As a result, this thesis provides a useful reference and new strategy for analysis and mining of big data in agricultural production and marketing areas.

Are Farmers' Market Shoppers Different From Cross-Shoppers? The Case of Hawaiian Avocado Purchasers

Small- and medium-size growers use direct marketing and farmers’ markets to access customers and avoid supply chain intermediaries that increase costs of getting products to consumers. This study examined consumers’ use of agricultural product information sources and their shopping outlet patronage preferences for one type of locally grown produce: avocados. Two farmers’ market segments were identified: 1) shops only farmers’ markets and 2) cross-shops grocery stores. Product information came from a variety of sources: media, retailers, and organizations. “Buy Local” or “product origin” were considered in produce shopping decisions. One dimension, “Buy Local,” was significant in differentiating farmers’ market segments.

Research on the Key Technology of Agricultural Production and Market Information Matching System under the Cloud Computing Background

The thesis firstly takes advantage of open source search engine (Nutch) to build the market space data warehouse and data sources, collecting agricultural products market information from the whole internet, on the basis of analyzing the existing agricultural production and market information matching system, then it puts forward the interest-model and combination matching algorithm more suitable for users in agricultural fields. At the same time, this article improves the existing matching system in the cloud computing background under the support of Hadoop distributed platform to solve the bottleneck problems such as the expanding ability of storage space and the efficiency of analysis and calculation confronted by the agricultural products market information matching system. Finally, the system makes a comparative analysis of recall ratio and precision ratio to prove its effectiveness and practical range. The aim of this paper is to make the agricultural production and market information matching system more suitable for Chinese agricultural production and marketing information system which supports the matching management decision of agricultural production circulation consumption and provides beneficial reference for the application of cloud computing technology.

A Common Traceability Method for Agricultural Products Based on Data Center

Agricultural traceability system plays an important role to improve our food safety. Based on the analysis of existing agricultural traceability systems, this paper analyses the weaknesses of these systems, that is, they are too dependent on a certain of production. Motivated by this consideration, this paper introduces a common agricultural traceability method based on data center. The method describes the traceability information of different agricultural products with different processes of circulation by quoting the following three concepts: traceable resource unit, information granule, supply chain, which can be applied to all agricultural traceability. Quantitative Evaluation of Surface Color of Tomato Fruits Cultivated in Remote Farm Using Digital Camera Images

To measure the quantitative surface color information of agricultural products with the ambient information during cultivation, a color calibration method for digital camera images and a remote monitoring system of color imaging using the Web were developed. Single-lens reflex and web digital cameras were used for the image acquisitions. The tomato images through the post-ripening process were taken by the digital camera in both the standard image acquisition system and in the field conditions from the morning to evening. Several kinds of images were acquired with the standard RGB color chart set up just behind the tomato fruit on a black matte, and a color calibration was carried out. The influence of the sunlight could be experimentally eliminated, and the calibrated color information consistently agreed with the standard ones acquired in the system through the post-ripening process. Furthermore, the surface color change of the tomato on the tree in a greenhouse was remotely monitored during maturation using the digital cameras equipped with the Field Server. The acquired digital color images were sent from the Farm Station to the BIFE Laboratory of Mie University via VPN. The time behavior of the tomato surface color change during the maturing process could be measured using the color parameter calculated based on the obtained and calibrated color images along with the ambient atmospheric record. This study is a very important step in developing the surface color analysis for both the simple and rapid evaluation of the crop vigor in the field and to construct an ambient and networked remote monitoring system for food security, precision agriculture, and agricultural research.
