The article substantiates the theoretical foundations of sustainable rural development. Based on a review of scientific sources, the concepts of sustainability, sustainable development; sustainable development of agriculture, food subcomplexes, rural areas and households are defined. The author's definition of the sustainable development of the fruit and vegetable canning subcomplex of the agroindustrial complex is given. The factors influencing the sustainable development of households have been identified. The measures of mutually beneficial relations in the integration and cooperation processes of households with business entities of agricultural production, processing industry, procurement and marketing organizations; ensuring food security and sustainable development of households and rural areas are proposed.

Environmentally sound recycling of agricultural waste: A sustainable approach to develop bio-functional art textile

The agricultural processing industry produces a large amount of waste on a global scale whose disposal is simultaneously a nuisance and of special interest. The by-products are rich in bioactive phytoconstituents that might be beneficial to the production of bio-functional textiles. The present work uses agricultural wastes for the eco-friendly dyeing of woolen yarns. Response surface methodology based on 23- Central Composite Design was used to design experiments, evaluate the main dyeing parameters, develop efficient mathematical models to predict the dyeing process, and optimize the procedure. The quadratic regression models developed were found to be statistically significant using ANOVA, with R2 -value of 0.9734 and 0.9820 for color strength and lightness responses, respectively. Also, eye-soothing tone and hues with a good resistance to durability (4–5) and light (4) were achieved. The banana shell and gallnut bio-mordants improved UV protection by up to 25.33% and 59.79%, respectively. Generally speaking, the results showed that C. Oblonga leaf as well as gallnut and banana shells could be used as whole crop products in an ecologically sound textile dyeing process through a sustainable approach and that the proposed innovative application might serve as an attractive procedure for recycling and green waste management.

Cotton seed cultivar identification based on the fusion of spectral and textural features.

The mixing of cotton seeds of different cultivars and qualities can lead to differences in growth conditions and make field management difficult. In particular, except for yield loss, it can also lead to inconsistent cotton quality and poor textile product quality, causing huge economic losses to farmers and the cotton processing industry. However, traditional cultivar identification methods for cotton seeds are time-consuming, labor-intensive, and cumbersome, which cannot meet the needs of modern agriculture and modern cotton processing industry. Therefore, there is an urgent need for a fast, accurate, and non-destructive method for identifying cotton seed cultivars. In this study, hyperspectral images (397.32 nm-1003.58 nm) of five cotton cultivars, namely Jinke 20, Jinke 21, Xinluzao 64, Xinluzao 74, and Zhongmiansuo 5, were captured using a Specim IQ camera, and then the average spectral information of seeds of each cultivar was used for spectral analysis, aiming to estab-lish a cotton seed cultivar identification model. Due to the presence of many obvious noises in the < 400 nm and > 1000 nm regions of the collected spectral data, spectra from 400 nm to 1000 nm were selected as the representative spectra of the seed samples. Then, various denoising techniques, including Savitzky-Golay (SG), Standard Normal Variate (SNV), and First Derivative (FD), were applied individually and in combination to improve the quality of the spectra. Additionally, a successive projections algorithm (SPA) was employed for spectral feature selection. Based on the full-band spectra, a Partial Least Squares-Discriminant Analysis (PLS-DA) model was established. Furthermore, spectral features and textural features were fused to create Random Forest (RF), Convolutional Neural Network (CNN), and Extreme Learning Machine (ELM) identification models. The results showed that: (1) The SNV-FD preprocessing method showed the optimal denoising performance. (2) SPA highlighted the near-infrared region (800-1000 nm), red region (620-700 nm), and blue-green region (420-570 nm) for identifying cotton cultivar. (3) The fusion of spectral features and textural features did not consistently improve the accuracy of all modeling strategies, suggesting the need for further research on appropriate modeling strategies. (4) The ELM model had the highest cotton cultivar identification accuracy, with an accuracy of 100% for the training set and 98.89% for the test set. In conclusion, this study successfully developed a highly accurate cotton seed cultivar identification model (ELM model). This study provides a new method for the rapid and non-destructive identification of cotton seed cultivars, which will help ensure the cultivar consistency of seeds used in cotton planting, and improve the overall quality and yield of cotton.

Production of meat and processed products in the conditions of technological modernization of agro-industrial complex of the East Kazakhstan region

Goal - the current situation and promising directions for the development of meat industry in the East Kazakhstan region are considered, and limiting factors for its growth are identified. During the research process, in the context of a comprehensive analysis, calculationconstructive, statistical-economic, expert, and monographic methods were used. Results – an assessment of the main parameters of livestock complex and meat processing sector in the Eastern region over the past five years is presented. Based on the results of the study, it was revealed that there are positive changes in meat sector, but overall production is not efficient enough. The authors note the lack of raw materials and high cost of raw materials. Food imports occupy a significant place, and small-scale production of farms leads to decrease in the competitiveness of goods produced. Conclusions – the results of the study made it possible to substantiate the most optimal directions for increasing the volume of meat product subcomplex and expanding meat products market through effective government regulation, development of cooperative and integration relations between agricultural producers and processing industry enterprises, allowing the creation of cooperatives that contribute to increasing the size of production and processing of meat products. As economic measures, it is advisable to stimulate supply and demand for food products, preferential lending throughout the entire cycle of obtaining products and selling them on domestic and foreign markets. The authors focus on the need to find options for reducing costs of production processes, implementing innovative projects and forming cluster-type associations. The creation of new enterprises (meat processing plants, poultry farms) will create new jobs and increase the income of the population.

Retrospective analysis of exporting agricultural processing industry products

The Russian exports of processed food products analysis since 2014 has revealed a stable growth in this area, corresponding to the general dynamics of domestic agricultural products sales in the world market. At the same time, the share of processed food products in the total volume of domestic exports from 2014 to 2021 increased from 1.7 to 3.1%, which is a favorable factor in reducing the mineral-raw materials orientation of Russia’s foreign trade. The increase in processed products exports contributes to the export-oriented nature of the domestic food industry, which grew from 6.5 to 11.6 % over the period. This is also due to the fact that import substitution programs development and competitive imports limitation after the counter-sanctions introduction in 2014-2015 had a favorable impact on the food industry and allowed to maintain and increase a number of export directions. Over the past few years, the key areas of sales in the global market have been the products of the oil and fat and sugar beet industries. Along with the sale of finished products, the food industry wastes export, which are raw materials for fodder production, is also considered important. With the overall positive dynamics of processed food sales, the only direction showing a decrease in exports is tobacco and tobacco products. The reduction in tobacco products exports is explained by the change in the transnational corporations policy who own the Russian cigarette business, which, in addition to the Russian market, until 2014 also partially filled the markets of the Commonwealth of Indepen dent States and Eastern Europe countries.

Current energy recycling technology for agricultural waste in Malaysia

This article examines the production and use of biomass as a renewable energy source in Malaysia, focusing on the agricultural processing industry. Malaysia produces approximately 168 million tonnes of biomass, including palm oil waste, rice husks, coconut debris, sugar cane waste, urban waste, and forestry waste. The abundance of biomass resources provides a competitive advantage over other renewable energy sources. However, the industry faces restrictions and challenges, such as high disposal costs, high electricity consumption, and related expenses. To address these issues, it is crucial to study the types of biomass available, current technology for biomass energy production (waste-to-energy), and relevant environmental motivations, initiatives, and legislation. This paper analyses the agricultural waste available for energy generation, existing technologies for converting waste into energy, and the role of environmental policies in the agricultural processing business. Energy recycling, which involves utilizing agricultural waste to generate electricity and thermal energy, is proposed as a viable solution. Several technologies are explored, including anaerobic digestion, gasification, incineration/combustion, and pyrolysis, each with advantages and disadvantages. Thermochemical processes are highlighted for their effectiveness, requiring minimal pre-treatment, shorter reaction times, and adaptability to various biomass feedstocks and climatic conditions. The implementation of incentives, initiatives, and policies by the Malaysian government serves as guidelines for the agricultural processing industry to adopt energy recycling practices. By emphasising energy sustainability and promoting green building initiatives, the industry can contribute to a more sustainable and environmentally friendly energy landscape.

THE DETERMINANTS OF NEUTRALIZING THE INFLUENCE OF THE PRODUCTION RISKS OF AGRICULTURAL ENTERPRISES ON THE COMPETITIVENESS OF THE PROCESSING INDUSTRY

Background. The article explores the impact of production risks in agricultural enterprises on the competitiveness of the processing industry, considering information asymmetry in an unpredictable environment. The paper identifies key production-stimulating elements crucial for the processing industry competitiveness using the theory of value. Economic ties between agricultural enterprises and processing industry subjects aim to integrate production and technological cycles for enhanced competitiveness. The article characterizes quasi-crisis pressures in the processing industry, providing indicators for economic relations between agricultural enterprises and processing industry subjects. The paper analyzes Ukraine's grain, oil and animal-origin raw material production for the processing industry and assesses the country's processing industry competitiveness crisis level. The financial processes of meat-processing agricultural holdings in Ukrainian regions, excluding occupied territories, were studied, considering private foreign investments in the pre-war and war period. Results and conclusions. In summary, the methods employed in this research encompass a combination of an economic analysis, risk management techniques, a theoretical synthesis, diagnostic tools, a stakeholder analysis and a resource system analysis. These methods would be tailored to address the specific challenges faced by the agricultural and processing industry. Changes in the competitiveness crisis level of meat-processing agroholdings were calculated, taking into account the production and technological cycle. The article concludes with anti-crisis scenarios for cross-industry interaction to neutralize competitiveness crisis factors.

The study of fermented compound feeds from agricultural production waste and processing industry

The article is devoted to the study of quality and safety indicators of compound feeds made from agricultural and processing industry waste under the influence of microbiological fermentation. Compound feeds of the following formulation were studied: recipe No. 1: beer pellet -40%; wheat bran – 20.0 %; sunflower cake - 20%; mushroom substrate – 20%; recipe No. 2: beer pellet - 40%; wheat bran – 10.0%; sunflower cake - 10 %; mushroom substrate – 30%; recipe No. 3: beer pellet – 40%; wheat bran – 10.0%; sunflower cake - 20%; mushroom substrate – 20 %; recipe No. 4: beer pellet - 29%; wheat bran – 54.0%; sunflower cake - 17%; recipe No. 5: beer pellet – 25%; soy – 75.0%. The purpose of our research was to study the quality and safety indicators of compound feeds made up of agricultural and processing industry waste after microbiological fermentation with Lesnov's starter culture. It has been established that recipes No. 5 and No. 4 are the most preferable in terms of the content of metabolic energy for cattle, sheep, pigs and poultry. The content of mycotoxins (aflatoxin B1, deoxynivalenol, zearalenone, ochratoxin A, T-2 toxin), microscopic mold fungi and yeast, pesticides (malathion, pyrimithophosmethyl, cypermethrin, diflubenzuron), nitrates and nitrites, lead, arsenic, cadmium and mercury in fermented compound feeds of various formulations did not exceed MDU; GMO not detected. When choosing recipes, it is necessary to take into account the physicochemical parameters of fermented compound feeds and the peculiarities of animal digestion (single-chamber or multi-chamber stomachs).

ЗАНЯТОСТЬ И БЕЗРАБОТИЦА В СЕЛЬСКОМ ХОЗЯЙСТВЕ СЕВЕРО-КАВКАЗСКОГО ФЕДЕРАЛЬНОГО ОКРУГА

Solving the problem of unemployment is a priority for the regions of the North Caucasus, where there is a significant shortage of jobs, which leads to labor migration of the population to other constituent entities of the Russian Federation. Finding solutions to increase the number of jobs is an important task that helps reduce unemployment in the regions of the North Caucasus Federal District. The work notes that the leading industry in the North Caucasus in terms of the number of jobs is agriculture, and currently there are significant reserves for growth in both the agricultural sector and processing industries, which are underdeveloped in the region. Agricultural products are mainly sold in unprocessed form, which leads to constant underutilization of existing processing capacities. One of the most obvious ways to develop the agro-industrial complex of the North Caucasus Federal District is to create favorable conditions for attracting large agricultural holdings to the region. Based on the results of the study, conclusions were drawn about the need to develop the processing of our own agricultural raw materials - primarily fruits, berries, meat, and milk. This is especially true in the context of economic sanctions directed against the Russian economy, as a result of which there is a risk of limiting the international supply of a number of food products, accordingly, the regions of the North Caucasus Federal District are able to replace most of them. These measures will not only strengthen the country’s food security, but will also lead to the creation of new jobs in the region, which will have a positive impact on the social situation in the North Caucasus.

Utilisation, efficiency, health, and environmental performance assessment of Ethiopian Agro‐Processors

SummaryThe manufacturing sector is vital to the blistering economic transformation of developing countries such as Ethiopia. According to Ethiopia's industrial development strategy, one of the priority sub‐sectors of the manufacturing sector is the agricultural processing industry. This study focuses on the utilisation prospects, health, and environmental performance of afro‐food processing industries. The data were collected from 71 industry‐level respondents. The data collectors used Open Data Kit (ODK) packages as a data collection mechanism. The average utilisation of the cereal processors in Ethiopia was calculated to be 50.84%, 57.39%, 72.18%, 58.44%, and 42.81% for biscuits, macaroni, maize flour, spaghetti, and wheat flour, respectively. The average efficiency was determined to be 68.27%, 73.72%, 90.49%, 83.38%, and 64.76% for biscuits, macaroni, maize flour, spaghetti, and wheat flour, respectively. It is also noted that among the edible oil processors, peanut oil has the highest average efficiency (90.49%) and utilisation (72.18%). The lowest average efficiency and utilisation were determined to be 64.76% and 42.81% respectively for sunflower oil. From a health and environmental performance perspective, it is noted that 70.83% of oil processors and 59.57% of cereals processors have quality control laboratories. Moreover, 91.48% of cereal processors and 87.5% of oil processors have solid waste disposal systems.

Valorization of Malus domestica L. (Apple) peels: A case study of circular bioeconomy

Sustainable food production by agricultural and food processing industries has gained importance in last decade, which essentially requires good management of the wastes generated during processing. In this regard, sustainable handling of any agro waste using the concept of “circular bioeconomy” is important. Present work depicts a case study on circular bioeconomy of Apple peels (AP) utilization for its value addition with zero waste at the end. AP was exposed to four different Deep eutectic solvents synthesised using HBA Choline Chloride with varoius HBDs like malic acid, glycerol, ethelene glycol and urea as well as a benchmark solvent Ethanol:water (50% v/v) resulting in extracts with TPC ranging between 1040 and 4302.6 mg GAE 100 g-1. Polyphenolic profiling of the extracts using developed HPLC method, confirmed the presence of polyphenols such as Phlordizin, Rutin, Syringic acid, Paracoumaric acid, Chlorogenic acid, Catechin, Epicatechin, Ferulic acid. The chemistry behind the ability of DESs for the extraction of the polyphenols in varying amount is explained using Hole theory and computational modeling of DES. Antioxidant potential of the extracts towards FRAP (7.76- 20.7 mM L−1)/ABTS (2.31- 8 mM L−1) assay and antibacterial activity against gram negative/positive bacterias with zone of inhibition between 12.2 and 14.9 mm, confirmed extracts to be biologically active, promoting their use as nutraceutical. Moreover, total dietary fiber in the residue (27.31- 45.44%) can find application as probiotics, thus complying with zero waste generation at the end. DES could be recycled six times with 15% decrease in efficiency.

The problems of adaptation of the regional agricultural production to climate change are discussed. It is noted that for this level it is more appropriate to consider the problem for the agroindustrial complex as a whole, i. e., for the “agriculture-processing industry” system. The formulations of the goals and tasks of the adaptation of the mentioned system to climate change are given, the concept of the adaptation interval is introduced. The methods and results of solving the problems of formation and coordination of target indicators of the agroindustrial complex and determination of the trajectory of its development in the adaptation interval are described.

Properties and applications of α-galactosidase in agricultural waste processing and secondary agricultural process industries.

Agriculture products form the foundation building blocks of our daily lives. Although they have been claimed to be renewable resources with a low carbon footprint, the agricultural community is constantly challenged to overcome two post-harvest bottlenecks: first, farm bio-waste, a substantial economic and environmental burden to the farming sector, and second, an inefficient agricultural processing sector, plagued by the need for significant energy input to generate the products. Both these sectors require extensive processing technologies that are demanding in their energy requirements and expensive. To address these issues, an enzyme(s)-based green chemistry is available to break down complex structures into bio-degradable compounds that source alternate energy with valuable by-products and co-products. α-Galactosidase is a widespread class of glycoside hydroxylases that hydrolyzes α-galactosyl moieties in simple and complex oligo and polysaccharides, glycolipids, and glycoproteins. As a result of its growing importance, in this review we discuss the source of the enzyme, production and purification systems, and enzyme properties. We also elaborate on the enzyme's potential in agricultural bio-waste management, secondary agricultural industries like sugar refining, soymilk derivatives, food and confectionery, and animal feed processing. Insight into this vital enzyme will provide new avenues for less expensive green chemistry-based secondary agricultural processing and agricultural sustainability. © 2023 Society of Chemical Industry.

Growth Inhibition of Phytopathogenic Penicillium Citrinum and Penicillium Expansum by Some Indian Culinary Spices

Penicillium citrinum and Penicillium expansum are primarily associated with the spoilage of wide variety of fruits and derived food products. Increasing demand of consumers for preservative (synthetic) free food has led the researchers to explore natural substances for controlling spoilage and pathogenic microbes. Past researches have demonstrated the antimicrobial activities of spices. Present study was undertaken to assess the growth inhibitory activities of aqueous extracts (AEs), essential oils (EOs) and powdered (PD) forms of 10 spices towards P. citrinum (MTCC2553) and P. expansum (MTCC2006). PD spices were evaluated for their growth inhibitory potential using spice agar method. Impregnated paper disc method was followed for the antifungal screening of AEs and EOs, while broth dilution method was opted for the determination of their minimum inhibitory concentrations. Results revealed that AEs of all the spices were found ineffective, whereas PD forms of three spices, namely, Cinnamomum cassia (Blume), Cuminum cyminum and Syzygium aromaticum, significantly arrested the growth of both the fungal strains. Nevertheless, EOs of Allium sativum, Brassica juncea, C. cassia (Blume), C. cyminum, Mentha piperita, Ocimum sanctum and S. aromaticum, exhibited remarkable antifungal activities against both the fungi. P. citrinum was more susceptible as compared to P. expansum, towards tested substances. According to our results, PD spices, being cheap and safe, may be persued as ‘green antimicrobials’ along with spice EOs, for in vivo studies to extend the shelf life of fruits and their processed products. Therefore, this study would prove a great help to the agricultural sector and food processing industry.

Assessing the supply chain management of waste-to-energy on green circular economy in China: an empirical study.

One of the industries that makes a significant contribution to the overall amount of greenhouse gas emissions around the globe is agriculture. In this regard, the use of bioenergy in the agricultural and food processing industries might benefit from the implementation of circular economy techniques. Despite the fact that just roughly 9% of the global economy is circular, there have been worldwide efforts to improve that reality. The linear economy, commonly known as the "take-make-use-dispose" model, is in sharp contrast to the circular economy, also known as "grow-make-use-restore," which seeks to influence the flow of materials and energy in order to maximize the benefits to the environment and minimize any associated costs. Garbage-to-energy, also known as WTE, is the focus of both academics and businesses as a direct result of the increasingly diminishing number of energy supplies and the ever-increasing amount of garbage. This project intends to turn trash into profit, lessen the impact waste has on the environment, and generate energy from biowaste by conceptualizing a focus on the supply chain characteristics of waste-to-energy processing. The adoption of a waste-to-energy (WTE) supply chain as a district energy system should be a viable solution toward a circular industrial economy that can solve energy consumption, waste management, and greenhouse gas emission concerns all at once. In the framework of a "circular economy," this study investigates how the management of waste-to-energy supply chains impacts the performance of businesses. The present investigation makes use of life cycle assessments, technical innovation, waste-to-energy conversion, and capacities related to circular economies. The study makes use of data obtained from an online survey that was administered between March 2021 and November 2021 to employees of 285 representative samples drawn from 457 European enterprises and firms that have accepted the concepts of the circular economy. The data is examined using a technique known as partial least squares structural equation modeling (PLS-SEM for short). The findings indicate that waste-to-energy serves as a mediator between the life cycle assessment and the capabilities of the circular economy and that sustainable supply chain management, sustainable supply chain design, technological progress, and waste-to-energy all have positive effects on these metrics.

Export Potential and Competitiveness of Processed Food Products from India

The liberalization of trade and India's accession to the World Trade Organization (WTO) have brought about significant changes in India's agricultural trade and food processing industry. This study aims to evaluate the export competitiveness of processed food products from India by analyzing their comparative advantage and export potential over a specified time period.&#x0D; The study utilizes secondary data from sources such as the Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA), Food and Agricultural Organization (FAO), and International Trade Centre (ITC) for the analysis. The selection of processed food products is based on the major processed food products exported by food processing industries in Gujarat. Analytical tools employed are compound annual growth rate (CAGR), revealed comparative advantage (RCA), and nominal protection coefficient (NPC). These tools help assess growth rates, comparative advantage, and competitiveness of the selected commodities with the data on export potential Provided by ITC.&#x0D; The study highlights the export potential and unrealized potential of processed foods which is more than 7.9 billion dollars and 4.5 billion dollars respectively. Among the selected commodities the food preparations with HS code 210690 are observed to have the highest potential. The analysis identifies the largest unrealized potential was in countries such as the United States, Saudi Arabia, China, and UAE for many of the selected processed food products. It was also observed in the export performance of selected processed foods for the last 10 years, with notable growth rates observed in miscellaneous preparations and bread, pastry, and other baked foods. This study concludes by highlighting the Potential of selected food products and also shows the presence of competitive advantage of selected foods in the USA, UAE, UK, Australia, and Saudi Arabia. It highlights the opportunities for manufacturers to expand their exports, capitalize on untapped market potential, and enhance their business growth.

A review on analysis of biochar produced from microwave-assisted pyrolysis of agricultural waste biomass

Every year the agricultural product processing industries produce large quantities of agricultural waste biomass (AWB). Whose disposal has become a serious issue concerning solid waste management due to environmental and health issues. Microwave-assisted pyrolysis (MAP) is an intriguing technology for producing valuable products from waste feedstocks. AWB is converted into a valuable product like biochar by using MAP. The conversion of AWB into biochar by MAP is influenced by several factors such as type of feedstock, pyrolysis temperature, residence time, pressure, heating rate, susceptor, particle size, and microwave power. However, no review article is available to understand the role of MAP on biochar production from AWB. The current review focused on understanding the fundamentals of biochar production. It also reviews the challenges in producing biochar process by compatible, acceptable, and sustainable and its future directions to gain economic benefits even at small-scale applications. The generation of biochar from MAP and its uses in agriculture are discussed. The current review would address the knowledge gap and highlight the critical implications in biochar production and applications.

Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) on agricultural products

Intra-industry trade plays an important role in the current international economics literature. In 2019, Indonesia's total exports to RCEP member countries reached 61.65% of Indonesia's total exports, and 44% of total exports to RCEP came from the agricultural sector. The purpose of this research is to examine the interdependence of Indonesia and its 14 trading partners in RCEP. This research uses secondary time series data from the trademap, namely the flow of Indonesian agricultural trade with RCEP countries from 2010-2019. The data analysis method in this study is the intra-industry trade index. The results of the study of trade patterns identified through the Indonesia-RCEP Trade Relations (IIT) show that the raw material with the highest average IIT value is processed flour (HS 19). This shows that Indonesia's RCEP trade in flour products (HS 19) is bilateral. In terms of country, Malaysia is a country with the strongest trade relations with Indonesia. The average score of 19.74 between IIT Indonesia and RCEP reflects that the relationship between Indonesian agricultural products and RCEP is still low and classified as inter-industry trade. The low IIT value may be due to the large one-way trade in RCEP, where Indonesia is still the dominant importer. Therefore, it is important for the government to further increase potential commodity exports by encouraging agricultural product processing industries with tax breaks within a certain period.

Analysis of the spatial layout and influencing factors of pollution-intensive industries based on enterprise dynamics

The studies of the spatial layout and impact mechanism of pollution-intensive industries have become one of the research hot spots for regional sustainable development. From the viewpoint of enterprise dynamics, this study used a spatial econometric model and kernel density analysis methods to analyze the spatial layout characteristics of pollution-intensive industries in the urban agglomeration in the middle reaches of the Yangtze River (UAMRYR) in 2010, 2015, and 2020, and to explore the reasons for the formation of the spatial divergence of different sub-industries. The results showed that (1) in the past decade, the pollution-intensive industries in the UAMRYR have spatial shift characteristics, basically presenting a “core-edge” pattern from central cities to peripheral cities, and an “agglomeration-diffusion-agglomeration” spatial trend. (2) Different sub-industries had obvious differences in their agglomeration and diffusion trends. The proliferation trend of the non-metallic mineral products industry and the agricultural and sideline foodstuffs processing industry were obvious, which made environmental management difficult. The manufacture of raw chemical materials and chemical products presented the trend of agglomeration, then diffusion, followed by agglomeration, and transferred to areas outside the urban agglomeration, which reduced the pollution to the environment to a certain extent. The spatial pattern of the electricity, heating power production and supply industry were relatively stable, with little overall change. (3) The spatial layout of pollution-intensive industries was mostly driven by the level of economic development and the degree of industrial agglomeration. Innovation capacity and labor cost promoted the spatial diffusion of industries, and the degree of trade openness intensified the agglomeration of pollution-intensive industries in space. The results of the study provided a more microscopic perspective for understanding the changes in the spatial pattern of pollution-intensive industries and served as a reference for the government to formulate industrial and environmental policies.
