Film is a portrait of social life with scenes and topics of conversation that serve as an effective medium for conveying messages. Through Arumi E's film "Merindu Cahaya De Amstel" communication interactions can occur embodied in speech acts that include conversations taught by the film's players. This research is a qualitative descriptive research. The collected data were analyzed with a pragmatic approach. The subject of this study is Arumi E's "Longing for Light De Amstel". The results of the study showed 6 forms of directive speech acts in the film "Merindu Cahaya De Amstel" by Arumi E, namely orders totaling 21 speech data, requests totaling 16 speech data, invitations totaling 14 speech data, advice totaling 13 speech data, criticism totaling 6 data, and prohibitions totaling 9 speech data. The functions of the directive speech act in the film "Longing for Light De Amstel" by Arumi E are; (a) The command has a command function numbering 9 data, the commanding function numbering 7 data, the function requiring the number of 1 data, the force function numbering 1 data, and the let function numbering 3 data. (b) The request function has a request function totaling 5 data, the requesting function totaling 3 data, the expecting function totaling 3 data, and the offering function totaling 5 data. (c) The solicitation has the function of inviting 9 data, the persuasion function is 2 data, the support function is 2 data, and the urgent function is 1 data. (d) The advice function has an advisory function totaling 5 data, the suggesting function totaling 3 data, the suggesting function totaling 2 data, and the alerting function totaling 3 data. (e) Criticism has the function of reprimanding 5 data and the threatening function amounts to 1 data. (f) The prohibition has the function of prohibiting the number of 5 data and the function of preventing the number of 4 data.
