Parryin and six other pimarane-type diterpenes were isolated from the acetone extract of roots of Salvia parryi. Parryin represents the first example of a biogenetically new type of tricyclic 6-7-5-ring diterpenes. Isopimara-6,8(14),15-triene, isopimara-8(14),15-dien-7-one and isopimara-8,15-dien-7-one have been isolated from a natural source for the first time. The structures were determined by spectroscopic studies.
