Assessing the Guidelines on the Use of Generative Artificial Intelligence Tools in Universities: A Survey of the World’s Top 50 Universities

The widespread adoption of Generative Artificial Intelligence (GenAI) tools in higher education has necessitated the development of appropriate and ethical usage guidelines. This study aims to explore and assess publicly available guidelines covering the use of GenAI tools in universities, following a predefined checklist. We searched and downloaded publicly accessible guidelines on the use of GenAI tools from the websites of the top 50 universities globally, according to the 2025 QS university rankings. From the literature on GenAI use guidelines, we created a 24-item checklist, which was then reviewed by a panel of experts. This checklist was used to assess the characteristics of the retrieved university guidelines. Out of the 50 university websites explored, guidelines were publicly accessible on the sites of 41 institutions. All these guidelines allowed for the use of GenAI tools in academic settings provided that specific instructions detailed in the guidelines were followed. These instructions encompassed securing instructor consent before utilization, identifying appropriate and inappropriate instances for deployment, employing suitable strategies in classroom settings and assessment, appropriately integrating results, acknowledging and crediting GenAI tools, and adhering to data privacy and security measures. However, our study found that only a small number of the retrieved guidelines offered instructions on the AI algorithm (understanding how it works), the documentation of prompts and outputs, AI detection tools, and mechanisms for reporting misconduct. Higher education institutions should develop comprehensive guidelines and policies for the responsible use of GenAI tools. These guidelines must be frequently updated to stay in line with the fast-paced evolution of AI technologies and their applications within the academic sphere.

To Form From The Administration of Environmental Resources For the Care of The Habitat

Objective: Based on the provided text, a central concern emerges: the need to improve natural resource management and habitat conservation. The importance of environmental management as a tool to achieve sustainability and guarantee the well-being of future generations is highlighted. Theoretical Framework: Research in environmental resource management draws on a wide range of concepts and theories from various disciplines, such as ecology, economics, sociology, and administration. Method: The research employed both quantitative and qualitative methods. It was a descriptive study, and data was collected through surveys, which helped to gather information related to the proposed objective. Results and Discussion: The research has highlighted the crucial importance of environmental education and natural resource management to ensure a sustainable future. It has been evidenced that environmental education is fundamental to raising awareness and promoting sustainable practices, while resource management is essential for optimizing their use and achieving sustainable development goals. Implications: The implications of this research transcend academic spheres and extend to the political, business, and social realms, demanding a profound transformation towards development models that prioritize human well-being and planetary protection. In this sense, the research urges greater collaboration among governments, businesses, civil society organizations, and citizens to build a more sustainable future. Originality/Value: The originality of this research lies in its interdisciplinary approach, integrating ecological, economic, social, and administrative perspectives to offer a comprehensive view of natural resource management. By connecting theory with practice and emphasizing citizen participation, this research provides a novel and relevant perspective. Its value lies in its capacity to generate scientific knowledge, inform policymaking, and promote changes in management practices.

Benefit Versus Risk Deliberations on Revisions, Corrections or Rejections of Manuscript Submissions: Reflections of an African Woman Scholar in Audiology

ABSTRACT The academic landscape is fraught with challenges, particularly for scholars whose identities intersect with marginalised backgrounds. This reflective paper explores the nuanced implications of revisions, corrections or rejections (RCRs) on the academic journey of a Black isiZulu-speaking African woman scholar in Audiology from South Africa. It contends that the effects of RCRs extend beyond the confines of a single manuscript, impacting the scholar’s sense of self, existence within the academic realm, and the deliberate ‘cancelling’ of one’s knowledge. Focusing on the unique challenges faced by African scholars, particularly the perceived emphasis on publishing as a measure of belonging, the paper employs a benefit-risk evaluation lens. This approach delves into the complex interaction between personal and environmental factors, shedding light on the multifaceted considerations that African scholars grapple with to establish their presence within the academic sphere. The paper outlines the well-known ‘publish or perish’ phenomenon, emphasising the hypercompetitive nature of the academic and research environment. Peer review, considered a critical component in the publication process, is explored for its role in quality assurance. However, the paper contends that the peer review process can inadvertently perpetuate inequalities, especially for scholars from underrepresented backgrounds. Thematic analysis of reviewer reports from papers I recently submitted forms the core of the paper. Seven emergent themes, such as the influence of proximity to native English speakers and the dominance of Western narratives, illustrate the challenges I faced in both local and international journals. Notably, the paper provides direct quotes exemplifying each theme, offering a very personalised perspective on the adversities encountered during the publication journey. The paper situates the field of audiology within the broader context of institutional and systemic racism, highlighting the underrepresentation of certain racial groups within the profession. It argues that this underrepresentation extends to knowledge generation and publishing, perpetuating the normalisation of Euro-American-centric norms and the exoticisation of Afrocentric standards. The reflective paper concludes by asserting that epistemological racism, intertwined with individual and institutional racism, stifles my pursuit of decolonisation and Africanisation of speech-language and hearing knowledge and practice. It contends that the peer review process, often Euro-American-centric, contributes to the silencing and exclusion of diverse knowledges, hindering local knowledge development and intellectual practices. In navigating the academic minefield, the paper calls for a re-evaluation of existing norms and practices within the peer review process to create a more inclusive and equitable academic environment for scholars with diverse backgrounds.

PERFORMANCE MANAGEMENT PARADOXES IN TURKISH PUBLIC ADMINISTRATION: EVALUATIONS ON ACADEMIC PERFORMANCE PARADOXES

This study investigates the application of performance management in public institutions, focusing specifically on universities and academic staff while identifying key challenges associated with these practices. Performance management aims to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of individuals and organizations. In public administration, its goals include fostering accountability, promoting transparency, improving service quality, and delivering economic benefits. However, the effectiveness of performance management processes within universities can be constrained, leading to various challenges over time. A significant issue is the "performance paradox," which arises when performance evaluation systems lose efficacy and paradoxically undermine academic activities. This study highlights the shortcomings of academic performance evaluation systems in Turkey and proposes suggestions for developing an optimal performance appraisal framework. By employing content analysis of topics such as academic incentives, appointment and promotion criteria, and evaluation processes at research universities, the study explores the manifestation of the performance paradox in the academic sphere and its adverse consequences. The findings offer valuable recommendations for public policymakers, practitioners, and scholars aimed at enhancing the effectiveness of academic performance appraisal systems.

Sustainable public policy instruments: revealing global interest in circular economy and eco-innovations

The concept of eco-innovation has become increasingly popular as the industrial industry should move toward sustainability. For businesses to establish core competences in the circular economy model, eco-innovation strategies are crucial components. Academicians are now studying the information behind these corporate decisions, with a growing body of work on the topic. The main goal of the study is to reveal and describe the development and interest in the topic of ecological and environmental innovations through bibliometric analysis. The bibliometric analysis is used to reveal the prevailing trends in the fields of sustainability, sustainable development, green economy, and eco-innovations. The fundamental techniques of comparison, induction, synthesis, analysis, and deduction are applied. In addition, the authors focused on bibliometric analysis, as it allows the processing of huge amounts of data and the creation of scientific maps. The development process in various countries around the world is diverse. Environmental and ecological innovations appear to present a substantial challenge. The prioritisation of the circular economy is also observable in scientific publications and in the academic sphere. Bibliometric analysis reveals the increasing popularity of the circular economy and ecoinnovations among authors, indicating the unavoidable need to tackle a more sustainable approach to economic and production activities.

Student Interest Drives Modernization of Climate Science Curriculum: Engaging with Community Partners outside the Classroom

Abstract As climate change continues to accelerate, there is a growing need for collaboration between geoscientists and community partners to cocreate equitable science-based climate solutions that align with community priorities. However, the curriculum of many geoscience Ph.D. programs focuses almost exclusively on physical science knowledge production confined to the academic sphere with little attention to usability or applications of climate information to decision-making. A consequence is that there is often little educational support to train future generations of geoscientists with the skills needed to serve as knowledge brokers and interpret climate information into the context needed for decision-making. To address this, a group of students and faculty at the University of Michigan developed a pilot course to provide hands-on experience engaging with local communities to develop climate solutions. This project involved a collaboration with the Washtenaw County Water Resources Commissioner’s Office to discuss their high-priority objectives. The inaugural project involved identifying high-priority locations in Washtenaw County for rain garden development to be used for internal planning purposes. The process of recurring communications with partners played a critical role in tailoring the project to have ongoing use for local government after the course. This project provided a student-driven bridge between climate knowledge production, climate science usability, and community engagement. This type of formal engagement with community partners provides opportunities to train the next generation of geoscientists to have the skills to engage with practitioners and decision-makers and make climate science more accessible.

Decolonising Biblical Theology: Towards Postcolonial Biblical Theology in the Public Sphere of Indonesia

Abstract This article presents the main argument that in the Indonesian context, biblical theology should be able to play a crucial role not only in the church and academic spheres but also, and more importantly, in the wider society by overturning the hegemony of colonialism in biblical theology and developing postcolonial biblical theology in the actual context of Indonesia. In undergirding this argument, the article first puts forward the situation of biblical theology in scientific and societal discourse in general and in the Indonesian context in particular. The findings in this analysis are followed by an explanation of the importance of developing a horizon in elaborating biblical theology in the Indonesian context informed by seven distinguishing public issues in Indonesian society. Biblical theology must be encouraged to penetrate the public sphere. In elaborating on biblical theology in the Indonesian context, postcolonial studies are highly significant in connecting biblical theology and the Indonesian context.

This article is the Opus postum of the author, who passed away in September 2023. Volodymyr Verloka is the author of numerous translations of philosophical classics from English, worked in various academic institutions, including the Institute of Philosophy of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine and the V. I. Vernadskyi National Library of Ukraine. He received his philosophical education at the beginning of the 1990s and personally witnessed the Soviet period of Ukrainian philosophy. The author’s critical reflections offered here are largely the result of his own experience of participating in the work of various academic institutions of independent Ukraine, and are also an honest expression of his sincere desire to change the situation with Ukrainian science and higher education for the better. In the article, the author addresses the reconstruction of the specific understanding of science in the USSR, revealing such features as ideological, partisan, and bureaucratic. The author analyzes the documents of the era – the publication of texts by Friedrich Engels, Vladimir Lenin, Volodymyr Vernadskyi, Nikolay Bukharin, Petr Kapitsa regarding the role of science in society. The author also turns to the analysis of the key philosophical texts of the era, which are direct evidence of the open position of Soviet philosophers on various issues, such as the definition of science, truth, and practice, and also finds out the specific influence of the doctrine of communism on the idea of Soviet academicism as the only politically permissible and at the same time as supposedly the only scientifically possible academic position. For this purpose, the author primarily analyzes the texts of the Soviet “Philosophical Encyclopedia”. The author also refers to critical sources that analyze the Soviet era – the works of Alain Besançon, Nelli Motroshilova, Anatolii Yermolenko and Serhii Yosypenko, Evert van der Zweerde and others. The author also gives his own critical assessment of the presence of vestiges of Soviet academicism in the modern Ukrainian academic sphere.

Careers of chloroquine and hydroxychloroquine as “miraculous” anti-Covid-19 drugs

In early January 2024, a widely publicized article in the journal Biomedicine and Pharmacology estimated that approximately 17,000 COVID-19 patients in France, Italy, Spain, Turkey, and the US died as a result of hydroxychloroquine treatment. The publication of this article is a fitting closure to nearly three years of controversy about the possible use of chloroquine and hydroxychloroquine to treat COVID-19. Repurposed in early 2020 as miracle answers to the COVID-19 pandemic, they had a brief moment of worldwide celebrity, despite the doubts expressed by many experts. Hydroxychloroquine’s career ended in September 2020, when a series of clinical trials showed not only inefficacy to treat COVID-19 but also safety concerns. However, the use of chloroquine and hydroxychloroquine continued in Brazil, where the government continued to promote their use as the first therapeutic choice against COVID-19. Our study outlines the employ of these drugs in France and Brazil. Grounded in the methodology developed by social studies of science, our article reconstructs the trajectories of hydroxychloroquine in France and Brazil. It aims to elucidate the reasons for the Brazilian exception, illuminating the disastrous consequences of the exercise of a monolithic political power and of anti-democratic practices on drug regulation and proposes new reflections on a topic that has been visible in the media and widely discussed in society, but attracted much less attention in the academic sphere.

Investigating academics’ attitudes towards ChatGPT: A qualitative study

ChatGPT, at the forefront of artificial intelligence advancement, has caused excitement and scepticism within academic spheres due to its potential to affect academic processes. Understanding attitudes towards ChatGPT could help manage expectations and concerns for ChatGPT in academia, predict behaviour and inform policy. This study aimed to develop an understanding of university academics’ attitudes towards ChatGPT. A total of 11 university academics participated in semi-structured interviews. Data analysis found three main themes: (a) ethics, (b) changes to academic processes and (c) accessibility and inclusivity. Results showed academics had positive attitudes towards ChatGPT overall; however, they held negative attitudes towards the unethical use of the technology. Key findings included discrepancies in perceptions of academics’ personal ethical use of ChatGPT compared to unethical use by others. Furthermore, academics viewed ChatGPT as a useful tool for saving time and enhancing research processes and student learning. Finally, ChatGPT could increase equity among diverse groups, though it should be used with caution. Future studies could conduct a longitudinal study and recruit a larger and wider sample exploring specific and/or multidisciplinary domains for research diversity and the generalisability of findings. Implications for practice or policy: Academic policy and codes of conduct concerning the use of ChatGPT in research and education can be refined to address key ethical concerns, such as plagiarism. Academic educators and researchers can save time and improve processes using ChatGPT to attain better work-life balance and thus potentially improve the quality of their work.

WRITING AS AN INVESTMENT TO FULFILL AN INCREASE IN THE FUNCTIONAL POSITION OF LECTURER

Scientific writing has an essential role in supporting the improvement of lecturers' functional positions, where scientific publications are seen as a form of strategic investment that can encourage academic career development. Through publications, lecturers not only share their research results and intellectual ideas, but also increase their competence, credibility, and professional recognition in the world of higher education. This study aims to analyze scientific writing as a long-term investment that plays a role in fulfilling the requirements for lecturers' functional promotion, and to assess the impact of writing productivity on institutional recognition. Using qualitative methods, this study identifies motivational factors, challenges, and benefits obtained by lecturers through scientific writing and publication activities. The results of the analysis show that scientific writing productivity significantly contributes to the process of functional promotion, both through increasing the required credit score, as well as through wider recognition of lecturers' scientific contributions in the academic sphere. Thus, scientific writing and publication skills need serious attention in lecturer development programs, so that they can support the improvement of professional performance and strengthen the academic position of lecturers in higher education. Continuous efforts in improving scientific writing skills are seen as crucial as a form of investment for the future of lecturers' academic careers, which in turn can contribute to improving the quality of higher education in Indonesia.

The expropriation of Arabic from Arab-Palestinians: On Arabic and coloniality in the Israeli academic sphere

Referring to three topics – (1) the place of Arabic in the Israeli public academic sphere, (2) the pedagogy of the teaching of Arabic in Israeli universities and (3) the use of Arabic as an academic language (discussion and research, academic writing, academic sources) – this paper will study the field of Arabic in Israeli universities as a direct outcome of the power relations in the country, crystallized over the years between the indigenous Palestinian population and the mostly European-oriented Jewish-Zionist decision-makers, thinkers and scholars. Following we will relate to settlercolonial elements in the Zionist project in order to explain the process of inferiorization of Arabic in the Israeli academic sphere, and the way its study was created through prioritizing Western methods that by and large exclude the Arab-Palestinian society and that have made members of this society uninfluential even in the study and research of its own language and culture. These ways included the preference of Western philology (‘grammar translation’) on direct methods (such as ‘immersion’ or ‘direct teaching’), the decision to teach Arabic in Hebrew, the pattern of discussing Arabic literature in Hebrew, the preference Hebrew-led linguistic landscape, and more.

Between Holocaust and National Tragedy – The Case of Israel

Thesis. The thesis of the article is to examine the discourse in Israel, which compares the events of the Holocaust in Europe in the twentieth century and the events of October 7, in which the terrorist organization Hamas attacked Israel, murdering, raping and kidnapping hundreds of people. Concept. Regardless of the testimonies, terminology, and discourse in the public, leadership, and academic sphere linking the events of the Holocaust to those of the Swords of Iron war, there is room to inquire whether Holocaust-related concepts and displays can be used in reference to the events of October 7, 2023 in Israel, and to what degree. Do the comparison or similarity between the events result in disparagement or in reducing the enormity of the Holocaust, and to what degree, or do they on the contrary serve to illustrate these events? The study examines journalistic articles, both printed and digital, in several categories: ideology, symbols, and satire. All these were examined in three spheres: in the public-journalistic discourse, in the leadership-political discourse, and in the academic discourse. Results. The study shows that the discourse comparing the events of October 7 and the Holocaust exists both within the Israeli discourse and within the global discourse. Conclusion. In light of the comparison between the grave events, the research findings may have pedagogic and public implications for the narrative of the October 2023 events in Israel.

The Orangist Appropriation of Erasmus

The attribution of an Erasmian spirit to William of Orange is tenuous but has nevertheless been made consistently since the early twentieth century. This article makes use of reception theory to connect this association to events of the early nineteenth century that happened in response to the French dominance in the Netherlands and their subsequent expulsion. In 1810 and 1813 Rotterdam Orangists and opponents of the French presence appropriated the Erasmus statue in the city for their own cause by adorning it with orange accessories and by attaching short verses to it. The repetitive recollection of these events throughout the nineteenth and early twentieth century culminated in the attribution of an Erasmian mind to William of Orange, who was himself associated with Orangism as of the twentieth century. While the initial Orangist actions were local and public endeavours, the association gradually entered the national political and academic sphere in the twentieth century. This transfer is exemplary for the changeability of ‘isms’ such as Orangism and Erasmianism. This article therefore ultimately emphasizes that besides the caution it requires, this changeability provides opportunities for reception histories.

The Role of University Community Engagement Programs in Influencing Higher Education Outcomes and Community Development: An Insight from Uganda

A specialised approach to academic research, teaching, and learning known as community engagement entails actively involving communities in cooperative initiatives that improve university teaching, learning, and research objectives while also addressing the needs and opportunities of the community. In this paper, we investigate how university community involvement positively impacts higher education results and community development, primarily using one Ugandan public university and one Ugandan private university as examples. The concept of university community engagement, as well as its advantages and drawbacks for the institution, students, and community at large, were addressed in the present study. Communities gain from university community engagement as members and organisations from the community share and integrate their knowledge with that of faculty and students, resulting in an improved understanding of community issues and the development of collective capacity to address them, producing either or both short-term impacts and long-term transformational change. University community participation benefits students by enhancing learning possibilities that can result in new and improved outcomes in terms of academic learning, development of skills and competences, leadership, and good citizenship. Enhancing teaching and learning possibilities, growing student enrolment and retention, co-creating new information and ideas, providing opportunities for research, and improving the university's reputation are all advantages for the higher education institution. Despite the aforementioned advantages, community participation is associated with a reproach of being more difficult, expensive, and possibly problematic than conventional approaches of knowledge and instruction. Better methods for recording and communicating academic progress are required, and there’s need to expand our awareness of important community engagement outcomes outside of the academic sphere. To promote sustainable community development and improve higher education outcomes, established and future higher education institutions must completely embrace and strengthen their community participation to a global scale.

THE ROLE OF UNIVERSITIES IN ENSURING TECHNOLOGICAL INDEPENDENCE IN INNOVATIVE DEVELOPMENT

The presented scientific article analyzes the role of universities in ensuring technological independence in the context of innovative development. The current trends and key mechanisms by which universities influence the achievement of technological independence of the state are considered, as well as the prospects for the development of this area are analyzed. Special attention is paid to the importance of cooperation between universities and the business community, including active partnerships with industrial enterprises and innovative start-ups. The study also examines educational programs and technological transfers, which are valuable tools for the formation of innovations that contribute to improving the competitiveness of the national economy. The analysis reflects the active role of universities in developing innovative solutions, converting knowledge into successful commercial products and encouraging technological development of the country. Also, within the framework of this study, the importance of developing innovation clusters and technology parks is considered, which contribute to the convergence of science, business and production, and the creation of a favorable ecosystem for innovation. The role of state support for innovative projects and scientific research carried out by universities, financing mechanisms for innovative research and development are considered. The research is an analysis of the current state and prospects for the development of interaction between the academic sphere, business and the state in order to increase technological independence, strengthen innovation and stimulate sustainable economic growth. The results of this study provide material for the development of possible partnership strategies between universities, the business community and the state aimed at ensuring technological independence and sustainable development of the national innovation system, including in order to ensure technological independence and sustainable development of the national innovation system.

Guy Fiti Sinclair’s Approach and its Application to EU Law: the Development of the Rule of Law as a Case Study

As theories on the development of the European Union do not give sufficient emphasis to aspects of EU law, it may be necessary to complement their application with other integration theories. To this end, the article intends to provide an analytical framework by relying on the field of the law of intergovernmental organisations. Guy Fiti Sinclair’s approach provides a framework to understand the expansion of powers in the case of intergovernmental organisations, an area not sufficiently explored concerning matters of EU law. The article examines the development of the rule of law based on the analytical framework. In addition to the introduction of the early context of the rule of law as well as the trends in the development of the rule of law in particular intergovernmental organisations, it also examines the position of the European Commission, the European Parliament and the Court of Justice of the European Union and the understanding of the rule of law within the academic sphere of the 2010s. The article focuses on the ASJP case, which, due to its innovative nature, has significantly impacted the development of the interpretation of the rule of law within EU law. The article, therefore, aims to give a perspective to understand the development of the rule of law, relying on this analytical framework.

Spanish Scientific Research Activity on Human Trafficking as Seen Through Bibliometric Indicators

ABSTRACT This study analyzes the research on the trafficking of persons carried out by authors affiliated with Spanish institutions through a review of the scientific literature based on a bibliometric analysis of articles indexed in Scopus (2000–2022). The units of analysis were documents, sources, authors, keywords and terms of the abstracts. From each document were collected: authors, title of the document, year, journal, cited by, affiliations, authors by affiliations, abstract, authors’ keywords, references and language of the original document. The analysis was carried out through unidimensional bibliometric indicators related to scientific production, collaboration and dissemination, and multidimensional bibliometric indicators. The results show an increase in the production of articles, in co-authorship, and with research largely concentrated in the academic sphere and with little cooperation with foreign institutions. Secondary research using qualitative methods predominates. There is a focus on sexual exploitation centered on women as victims. This bibliometric review addresses UN Sustainability Goal 5.2: eliminate all forms of violence against all women and girls in the public and private spheres, including trafficking and sexual and other forms of exploitation and has implications for practice, policy, and continued research.

Optimal Electric Vehicle Battery Management Using Q-learning for Sustainability

This paper presents a comprehensive study on the optimization of electric vehicle (EV) battery management using Q-learning, a powerful reinforcement learning technique. As the demand for electric vehicles continues to grow, there is an increasing need for efficient battery-management strategies to extend battery life, enhance performance, and minimize operating costs. The primary objective of this research is to develop and assess a Q-learning-based approach to address the intricate challenges associated with EV battery management. This paper starts by elucidating the key challenges inherent in EV battery management and discusses the potential advantages of incorporating Q-learning into the optimization process. Leveraging Q-learning’s capacity to make dynamic decisions based on past experiences, we introduce a framework that considers state-of-charge, state-of-health, charging infrastructure, and driving patterns as critical state variables. The methodology is detailed, encompassing the selection of state, action, reward, and policy, with the training process informed by real-world data. Our experimental results underscore the efficacy of the Q-learning approach in optimizing battery management. Through the utilization of Q-learning, we achieve substantial enhancements in battery performance, energy efficiency, and overall EV sustainability. A comparative analysis with traditional battery-management strategies is presented to highlight the superior performance of our approach. Our Q-learning-based method achieves a significant 15% improvement in energy efficiency compared to conventional methods, translating into substantial savings in operational costs and reduced environmental impact. Moreover, we observe a remarkable 20% increase in battery lifespan, showcasing the effectiveness of our approach in enhancing long-term sustainability and user satisfaction. This paper significantly enriches the body of knowledge on EV battery management by introducing an innovative, data-driven approach. It provides a comprehensive comparative analysis and applies novel methodologies for practical implementation. The implications of this research extend beyond the academic sphere to practical applications, fostering the broader adoption of electric vehicles and contributing to a reduction in environmental impact while enhancing user satisfaction.

Guiding organizations toward sustainable success: The strategic role of leadership in environmental corporate governance in the wine industry

AbstractOur natural environment is suffering the consequences of the current highly dynamic and competitive social and economic conditions that force people and firms to mainly focus on economic outputs rather than in reducing their impact on the environment. In this context, environmentally aware leaders can play a key role in driving the development and implementation of sustainable practices within organizations, as well as the development an adequate organizational culture that promotes the engagement of its members. The objective of this research is to empirically evidence the influence of green transformational leadership on green performance, as well as the mediating role of green organizational culture and green engagement in this relationship. The results provide empirical evidence on the positive influence of green transformational leadership on green performance, as well as about the mediating variables raised, which has interesting practical, political and theoretical implications, related to the strategic management of firms, the promotion of environmental sustainability in corporate governance and industry standards, and the broader understanding of sustainable leadership in the academic sphere. Thus, this study provides a roadmap to embrace a leadership model that prioritizes environmental sustainability, advocating for a collective journey toward a sustainable future where leadership, culture, and commitment coalesce into a formidable force for environmental sustainability. It is concluded that there is a need for a paradigm shift where leadership integrates sustainability into the ethos of organizational culture.
