The Research on Strategies of Cultivating Senior High School English Autonomous Reading Ability from the Perspective of Key Competence

In the context of core literacy teaching, high school is a critical period for students’ learning and development. While teaching students English knowledge, English teachers in high schools should pay more attention to the cultivation of their autonomous learning ability. English reading is an important part of English teaching in senior high school, and English teachers need to cultivate students’ good autonomous reading ability in teaching. Therefore, to effectively develop and improve students’ autonomous reading ability and encourage them to form a good reading habit in the process of learning, English teachers in senior high schools should change their traditional educational ideas in time, and constantly seek more scientific, reasonable, and interesting teaching methods in the process of teaching, to stimulate students’ reading interest, improve their English reading ability and effectively improve their English comprehensive literacy ability. Based on this purpose, this paper briefly analyzes the effective ways to cultivate English autonomous reading ability in senior high schools in literacy idea.

Optimization of IPS Learning with the Concept of Cooperation in the Neighborhood for Students of Class 2 MI Al-Whataniyah 1 Jakarta

This research aims to analyze the effectiveness of the concept teaching model in improving social studies learning outcomes on the material of cooperation in the neighborhood environment. The researchers used the Classroom Action Research method with two cycles. The study was conducted at MI Al Wathaniyah 1 North Jakarta with 34 class 2 students as subjects. Data collection was carried out through systematic observation, in-depth interviews, documentation, and learning outcome tests. Data analysis used qualitative and quantitative descriptive techniques. The research results showed a significant increase in student learning outcomes after the implementation of the concept teaching model with classical completeness reaching 85% in cycle II. The average student learning outcomes reached 90%. In addition, the teacher's teaching activities also showed an achievement of 100%. It means that the activity shows the teacher's ability to master the class and apply the concept teaching model well. Student presentations in observing and answering worksheets or written tests also reached 85%. Therefore, this study contributes to the development of a more effective social studies learning methodology at the elementary education level.

Future elementary school teachers’ research culture formation employing individual assignments

In the modern dynamic society, quality education and the development of children’s creative abilities are the merits of successful teachers. The modern teacher must have independent learning skills, high motivation and developed research culture skills for effective teaching. The research aims to test the impact of individual student activity – future elementary school teachers, on the development of their research culture. The study was conducted employing various methods, using questionnaires to study the ability of future elementary school teachers to apply creative approaches and conduct pedagogical research in practice. The research participants were 32 teachers with more than 5 years of experience, a PhD degree, and 348 students – future elementary school teachers. Studied the level of motivation as a predictor of the research culture of students adapted and conducted a survey on the questionnaire of creative teaching, as well as self-assessment of students in solving research problems. Before the experiment, most students had low levels of motivation to learn online and self-study, as well as the results of creative teaching in the future, self-evaluation of the possibility of solving research. The introduction of the experimental factor in the learning process – students’ performance of independent assignments for three academic semesters, built on a gradual introduction to research activities, expansion and affirmation of knowledge about the need to find scientific ways to build lessons and learning process in general, the features and process of pedagogical research, had a positive impact on student’s motivation to learn, self-assessment of task capability and creative teaching ability in the bud The final ResCul survey shows students’ knowledge of research culture sufficiently formed. The results obtained apply to students who are studying in the speciality “Pedagogy and Methodology of Elementary Education”.

Objectives The present study analyzes the previous research on college course evaluations in Korea over the past 30 years related to instructor factors. It then identifies how instructor-related sub-factors influence course evaluations and provides implications for designing valid course evaluations. Methods We collected previous research articles on course evaluation conducted in Korean universities from 1994 to 2024. We followed three steps to gather research related to instructor factors. First, we screened by looking at the titles of the articles. Then, we looked closely at the abstracts. Finally, we examined the results of these articles. As a result, 37 research articles were selected with five sub-factors: (a)position and experience, (b)age, (c)teaching ability, (d)gender, and (e)research and service achievements. Results Overall, the higher the faculty position and the more years of experience, the higher the teaching evaluation scores. Full-time professors had higher ratings than part-time instructors. An instructor's age tended to have an inverse effect on their course evaluation scores, with older instructors generally receiving lower scores. The quality of an instructor's teaching had a significant effect on course evaluation scores, particularly course preparation, teaching methods, and instructor-student interaction. When it comes to instructor gender, the results are mixed. However, some studies have found that courses taught by female instructors received higher teaching evaluations. Finally, faculty with more research and service achievements tended to have higher course evaluation scores, but this area is still understudied and more research is needed to draw firm conclusions. Conclusions The current study shows that various instructor-related sub-factors have an influence on college course evaluations. These findings are expected to enhance the validity and reliability of course evaluations in the near future.

Objectives The purpose of this study is to investigate the effects of early childhood music education based on problem-based learning(PBL) on the music teaching content knowledge and efficacy of pre-service early childhood teachers. Methods For this purpose, the study selected 25 freshmen in the Department of Early Childhood Education at U University in I City and 23 freshmen in the Department of Early Childhood Education at H University in G City in Chungnam Province among the students who took an “early childhood music education” course as their major elective. While the experiment group participated in an early childhood music education program based on PBL, the comparison group took common lecture-style lessons focused on the same teaching materials as the experiment group and participated in workshops and discussion activities. The experiment was conducted for 15 weeks from September 4 to December 14, 2023. Data was analyzed with the SPSS 22.0 program in a t-test for differences between the two groups. Results First, early childhood music education based on PBL had positive effects on the subelements of pre- service early childhood teachers' knowledge about music teaching content including knowledge about the music curriculums, knowledge about the content of the music subject, knowledge about the music teaching-learning methods, and knowledge about the music teaching environment. Secondly, early childhood music education based on PBL also had positive effects on the subelements of pre-service early childhood teachers' music teaching efficacy including expectations for results and belief in music teaching ability. These findings show that early childhood music education based on PBL is effective for promoting pre-service early childhood teachers' knowledge about music teaching content and music teaching efficacy. Conclusions The present study developed and applied an early childhood music education program based on PBL to promote the music teaching ability of pre-service early childhood teachers, proposed a direction for early childhood music education to them, and facilitated their music teaching ability, contributing to the substantialization of music education in the future.

Application of the Problem Based Learning (PBL) Learning Model in Increasing Student Participation in Pancasila Education Learning in Classes X-5 of Madani Integrated Model State High School

The aim of this research is to increase the participation of students in class This research is class action research (Class Action Research) which consists of two cycles. Each cycle consists of action planning, action implementation, observation and reflection. The research subjects were students in class X-5 at SMA Negeri Madani Integrated Model High School. Data sources come from teachers and students obtained through observation, interviews, tests and document review. The data analysis technique used is descriptive analysis. The results of the research show that: (1) The teacher's ability to carry out learning using the problem based learning (PBL) method to improve student learning outcomes in learning Pancasila education in class X-5 in cycle I has an average of 67.5% (quite good) , while in cycle II it was 82.5% (very good), this shows an increase of 15%. (2) The number of students who are active in learning gradually increases in cycle II. This number has met the target that has been set even though at the beginning of the cycle student participation was still far from the target, in fact there were no participants at all.

Improving Student Learning Outcomes in Indonesian Language Subjects Through the Implementation of the Problem Based Learning (PBL) Learning Model

The aim of this research is to improve the learning outcomes of class X-A students at SMA Negeri 4 Palu through the application of the Problem Based Learning (PBL) learning model in Indonesian language subjects. This research is class action research (Class Action Research) which consists of two cycles. Each cycle consists of action planning, action implementation, observation and reflection. The research subjects were class X-A students at SMA Negeri 4 Palu. Data sources come from teachers and students obtained through observation, interviews, tests and document review. The data analysis technique used is descriptive analysis. The research results show that: (1) The teacher's ability to carry out learning using the Problem Based Learning (PBL) method to improve student learning outcomes in Indonesian language learning in class X-A in cycle I has an average of 70% (quite good), while in the first cycle II to 87.5% (very good), this shows an increase of 10.5%. (2) There was an increase in student learning outcomes in learning Indonesian on biographical text material using the Problem Based Learning (PBL) method in class X-A SMA Negeri 4 Palu, where student learning outcomes in cycle I had an average of 73.14 with a completion percentage amounted to 42.86%, in cycle II it became 79.77 with a completion percentage of 88.57%. This shows an increase in student learning outcomes of 6.63.

Application of the Discovery Learning Learning Model Assisted by the Wordwall Games Application to Improve the Learning Outcomes of Class X-2 Students at SMAN Madani Integrated Model Palu

The results of the research show that: (1) The teacher's ability to carry out learning using the discovery learning method assisted by the wordwall games application to improve student learning outcomes in Civics learning in class X-2 in cycle I had an average of 56.81%, while in cycle II to 86.36%, this shows an increase of 29.55%. (2) There was an increase in student learning outcomes in Civics learning using the discovery learning method assisted by the wordwall games application in class %, in cycle II it was 80.6% with a completion percentage of 91.42%, this shows an increase in student learning outcomes of 7.6%.

<p>The study analyzes the professional ability of teachers to accurately perceive and evaluate the student’s personalities. Teachers with varying levels of professional experience (1–4 years and 5 years and above) as well as individuals without teaching experience were recruited for this study. Video recordings of the behavior of six posers (three women and three men) during an interview were used as stimuli. From the video recordings, fragments lasting 1 minute were extracted, containing the poser’s speech and their responses to the interviewer's questions. The audio track in the video clips was removed. Participants, both with and without pedagogical experience, evaluated the posers using a specially designed semantic differential that included 25 scales. These scales describe various aspects of personality as self-regulation, organizational and communication skills, empathy, and more. Prior to this evaluation, participants had been assessed using the same semantic differential scales. Subsequently, they were asked to rate, on a ten-point scale, the success of their current or potential professional activity as a teacher in high school, college, and university. The forecast of potential teaching activities was also conducted in relation to the posers being assessed. The results of the study in all groups showed that the mean scores on the scales did not differ significantly. The method of semantic universals made it possible to identify the characteristics of each of the posers. The sets of semantic universals varied, but participants with different professional backgrounds highlighted different sets of characteristics. However, a number of characteristics were consistently emphasized in all groups. A similar factor structure was obtained, containing four common factors: factor 1 “responsiveness”, factor 2 “discipline”, factor 3 “activity” and factor 4 “stress resistance”, i.e. we can say that the perception of an unfamiliar poser by all individuals is based on the same latent variables. However, factor 4 “stress resistance” has the greatest weight in the group of teachers with extensive teaching experience (5 years and more).</p>

Decision-Making Technique for College Physical Education Teaching Quality Evaluation Based on TODIM and TOPSIS With Interval Neutrosophic Numbers

The evaluation of university physical education teaching quality is a comprehensive assessment of the effectiveness of sports courses, aiming to enhance teaching quality and students' physical literacy. The evaluation includes the achievement of teaching objectives, the scientific and practical nature of course content, the innovation and diversity of teaching methods, the professional competence and teaching ability of instructors, and students' participation and progress.The college physical education teaching quality evaluation is multiple-attribute group decision-making (MAGDM) approach. Recently, the TODIM and TOPSIS techniques have been employed to address MAGDM challenges. To capture uncertain data during the evaluation process, interval neutrosophic sets (INSs) are administrated as a valuable tool. This study introduces the interval neutrosophic number TODIM-TOPSIS (INN-TODIM-TOPSIS) approach to address MAGDM using INSs. Eventually, numerical study for college physical education teaching quality evaluation is administrated to validate the INN-TODIM-TOPSIS approach.

Foreign experience in developing professional thinking of future teachers

The article presents a comprehensive study of modern approaches to developing professional thinking in future teachers, which is a critical prerequisite for ensuring the quality of pedagogical activity amidst contemporary educational challenges. Particular attention is paid to analyzing foreign experiences in teacher education, which emphasize the integration of theoretical knowledge with practical experience, the application of innovative teaching methods, and the use of digital technologies. The study examines teacher education models in Finland, Germany, and the United States, highlighting diverse yet complementary approaches to fostering professional thinking. The Finnish model emphasizes deep integration of theory with practice through school internships, enabling future teachers to gain practical experience and develop reflective thinking. The German model focuses on reflective practices through maintaining pedagogical diaries and participating in seminars. The U.S. model prioritizes case-based methods and problem-based learning, fostering critical and creative thinking skills. It has been established that the effectiveness of pedagogical activity largely depends on a teacher's ability to critically analyze information, reflect on their actions, generate new ideas, and apply creative approaches to solving educational tasks. These competencies are fundamental components of professional thinking, which is shaped through interdisciplinary approaches, the use of digital tools, and the integration of modern educational methodologies. The article also outlines practical recommendations for adapting foreign practices to the Ukrainian teacher education system. These include extending the duration of pedagogical internships, integrating reflective seminars and discussions, widely implementing case-based methods in curricula, and using digital platforms and simulators to model real-world teaching scenarios. Special attention is given to the role of international cooperation in developing professional thinking among future teachers. Experience exchange, joint projects, and the integration of innovative practices contribute to the modernization of teacher education in Ukraine and its integration into the global educational landscape. Implementing these recommendations will enhance the preparation of highly qualified educators capable of addressing the challenges of modern education, introducing innovations, and fostering key competencies in their students.

Hybrid Learning Microsite Project STEAMER: Computational Thinking and Creative Thinking Abilities of Prospective Elementary School Teachers

Introduction: Prospective teachers' computational and creative thinking skills show quite low results because classroom learning is less innovative. This requires the use of innovative models. This study was conducted to determine the effectiveness of the Hybrid Learning Microsite Project STEAMER in improving prospective elementary school teachers' Computational and Creative Thinking Skills.Methods: The study subjects were prospective elementary school teachers from 10 Educational Personnel Education Institutions in six provinces. This method of study used a mixed approach. Data were collected through tests, interviews, and observations. Data were analyzed quantitatively and qualitatively. Quantitative data were analyzed using Multivariate statistics, SEM LISREL 8.80, while Miles and Huberman data analysis techniques were used to analyze qualitative data.Results: This study shown that the average post-test score in the experimental class increased by 69.95 and in the control class by 55.65. This study concludes that the application of the learning model has implications for the variables of creative and computational thinking abilities by 29.6% and 10.6%.Conclusions: The implementation of the STEAMER Hybrid Learning Project has influenced students' computational and creative thinking abilities through a series of model stages, such as reflection, conducting research, finding strategies, implementing design results, and communicating the results of the developed project.

FLEXIBILITY AND EFFICIENCY: A NEW APPROACH TO THE LABOR RELATIONS OF TEACHERS IN HIGHER EDUCATION INSTITUTIONS

The modern higher education system is facing challenges related to the limitations of the labor relations of teachers tied to a single university. This article offers an innovative approach to redefining traditional employment models, focused on creating flexible employment relationships for teachers in higher education. The presented approach assumes that teachers can work at several universities at the same time, providing them with new opportunities for professional growth and development. The problem of the limited binding to the full-time status at a single university is solved by switching to a flexible labor relations system that allows teachers to actively participate in several educational projects. The introduction of such a system offers revolutionary changes in the organization of the professional life of teachers, opening up new prospects for individualized work schedule management and more effective use of their professional skills. Key aspects of the new system include the ability of teachers to focus on their main specialization, conduct courses appropriate to their narrow field of knowledge, and independently manage their work schedule. The flexible system also provides for adaptive remuneration, taking into account the actual hours worked, encouraging teachers to use their time effectively. The article examines the experience of other countries, such as England, the USA and Russia, in the context of legislative restrictions on the multiple employment of teachers. An important element of the new system is to maintain the official status of teachers at each university, providing them with access to the benefits of full-time status. The introduction of the proposed system of labor relations for teachers promises to transform higher education, creating conditions for improving the quality of education, attracting and retaining talented teachers, as well as stimulating innovation in the field of teaching.

Leveraging on Micro Teaching Lesson Study to Improve Collaborative Skills of Pre-Service Science and Math Student Teachers in Higher Educational Institutions

This study examines how the Micro Teaching Lesson Study (MTLS) framework impacts the collaborative skills of pre-service science and mathematics teachers in Nigerian higher education institutions, focusing on integrating mathematics into science education. The research assesses MTLS’s role in developing pedagogical content knowledge (PCK) tagged as instructional delivery and collaborative skills, including teamwork, communication, and problem-solving. Data were collected through questionnaires and a rating scale from 100 pre-service science and mathematics student teachers, at 300 and 400 levels, through a stratified random sampling technique. Results show mean scores from 2.73 to 3.71 which reflect moderate to high collaborative proficiency, ability and confidence to integrate mathematics into science education. While empirical evidence suggests MTLS significantly enhance instructional delivery of PSMST in science education (β = 4.481; t = 2.259; p < 0.05), no significant difference in collaborative skills was found between science and mathematics pre-service student teachers. The study concludes that MTLS effectively fosters collaborative skills, improving instructional delivery and interdisciplinary teaching. Expanding MTLS implementation is recommended to enhance the collaborative abilities of pre-service teachers and benefit STEM education.

Pelatihan Penulisan Penelitian Tindakan Kelas Untuk Guru-Guru Sekolah Dasar di Kecamatan Slahung Kabupaten Ponorogo

The poor ability of elementary school teachers in writing classroom action research is the main driver of this commitment. The purpose of this project is to teach educators how to write classroom action research projects. Training and seminar techniques are used in this service approach. The training location is at SDN 01 Slahung Ponorogo. Teachers can compile classroom action research appropriately because of this commitment. This commitment is intended as a guide for educators who want to improve their ability to write classroom action research in the classroom. Primary school teachers now have a better understanding and proficiency in writing PTK and its output.

The Influence of E-Module Based on Contextual Approaches on Historical Thinking Skills

This research is motivated by Kurikulum Merdeka in History lessons which contains achievements to be able to contextualize events that occurred in the past. The ability of teachers who have now developed by having the ability to create and use electronic-based teaching materials can develop electronic-based teaching materials containing historical material that is linked to contextual issues. Seeing this, the researcher conducted a quasi-experimental study aimed at analyzing the influence of e-modules based on a contextual approach to historical thinking skills. The researcher saw this influence by using a quasi-experiment with a time series design conducted at SMA Negeri 26 Bandung. The results of the study showed that e-modules based on a contextual approach can show an influence on historical thinking skills with a moderate increase in the category.

Research-Based Learning About Nature Conservation Influences Students’ Attitudes and Knowledge

(1) Background: A successful teaching practice and a proper understanding of environmental conservation require developed research abilities and a positive attitude toward nature. Nineteen female students at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences spent ten days in one national park and participated in project activities related to nature conservation. This study aimed to investigate how the stay in nature and the active involvement of students will contribute to their attitudes and knowledge acquisition. (2) Methods: A questionnaire was used to assess the students’ attitudes and knowledge about protected areas before and after the project activities in the national park. The Wilcoxon test was used to determine the statistical significance of differences in attitudes, while the Chi-square test was used to examine the differences in their acquired knowledge. (3) Results: The research showed that students had positive attitudes towards nature protection before and after the project activities. The positive attitudes were confirmed after the project activities were carried out even among those students who did not have them initially. A significant increase in students’ knowledge after the ten-day stay in the national park was noticed. (4) Conclusions: The study results have provided insight into the ability of future teachers to promote sustainable lifestyles and ecological activities. Hands-on nature-based learning significantly foster future teachers’ ecological awareness, their environmental knowledge, attitudes, and behavior.

TAHAP PROSES KOGNISI MURID PEMULIHAN KHAS DALAM PENYELESAIAN MASALAH OPERASI TOLAK LINGKUNGAN 100 DI DAERAH KANOWIT, SARAWAK MELALUI KAEDAH HERMENEUTIK

This study analyzes the level of cognition of special remedial pupils in problem solving of subtraction within 100 by identifying the level of cognition that can be achieved based on the Thinking Skills Matrix in the Malaysian Curriculum and explores the cognition process that affects the quality of answers using an observation checklist. A qualitative approach through the Hermeneutic method is used in this study. The selection of research subjects was carried out by sampling involving 12 special remedial pupils who followed Mathematical Remedial learning in six national schools in Kanowit district, Sarawak. The text studied is based on scripted answers to a set of basic mathematical operations problem-solving questions and transcriptions of observation checklists. The findings of the study show the existence of a cognitive process level of the category of remembering, understanding, applying and analyzing in the writing of solutions to the subtraction operation problem in the range of 100. The achievement for a high level of the cognitive process is the category of analyzing Level IV which is to deeply analyze something in a complex situation to make the conclusion has affected the quality of writing answers. This study has implications for special remedial students in solving operations problems around 100 and the ability of teachers to identify the level of students' cognitive processes through solving basic mathematical operations problems so that they can help students improve their cognition processes more effectively.
