Based on the singularity principle of the wavelet transform, the continuous wavelet transform is applied to the strain mode of the damaged structure, and the data is normalised and coupled to each 3D position in space. The modal maxima of the wavelet coefficients of each layer of data are compared to identify the spatial location of the damage to the complex structure, and then the Sparrow Search Algorithm (SSA) is used to quickly and accurately identify the data and obtain the degree of damage to the structure. In this paper, the proposed method is validated by numerical finite element simulations and experiments on cantilever structures. The results of the study show that the method can be used to solve the 3D spatial damage identification problem in a simple and fast way, which can be used as a reference for structural inspection problems in practical engineering.
