The current two-dimensional (2D) BiOCl photocatalyst generally suffer from poor photocatalytic performance and low recovery efficiency, which is caused by its small size and response to UV-light only. In this paper, magnetic recyclable SnFe2O4/BiOCl (labelled as SFO/BOC) nanospheres with excellent photocatalytic properties (86 %TC, 91 %CIP) were successfully synthesized by a two-step solvothermal method for the first time and used for photocatalytic degradation of antibiotics. The results showed that SFO/BOC microspheres had high photodegradation efficiency (86.64 % and 90.68 %) and cyclic stability (74.63 % and 80.78 % after 5 cycles) for TC and CIP under visible light irradiation for 1 h. The photodegradation mechanism of SFO/BOC was discussed by the radical trapping experiments. This study provides a new type of photocatalytic materials for the development of high efficiency photocatalyst with excellent magnetic recovery.
