Abstract This trial was conducted at Wentworth-By-The-Sea Country Club, New Castle, NH. All treatments were applied on 3 May to 7 X 7 ft plots, 5 replicates per treatment, in an RCB design on a green. Treatments were applied with a 2-wheel bicycle-type CO2 boom sprayer equipped with 4 spray heads, fitted with a 50-mesh strainer and an 8004 fan-type nozzle. The volume of water and insecticide mix per plot was 2 gal/1000ft2 delivered at 40 psi. Adult weevils were active at the time of treatment. The turf was moist, and a light rain continued after applications. Other weather conditions were as follows: air temp, 66°F, wind, light breeze. Soil conditions were as follows: temp at 1-inch depth, 60°F; texture, sandy loam; sand, 67%; silt, 20%; clay, 13%; dry matter, 84%; moisture, 16%; soil pH, 7.4; organic matter, 3.9%; thatch depth, 1/2 inch. The trial was rated on 19 Jun by taking three 4 1/4-inch cup cutter plugs per plot, and counting the number of live larvae and pupae found within each plug.
